The San Francisco 49ers' injury report added two more names Wednesday, and it didn't take long for two more players to join them before practice was over.
Defensive tackle Gracen Halton (ankle) and right guard Dominick Puni (concussion) were held out of practice, according to NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco. Puni's absence is a particular concern for an offensive line that has already been shuffling personnel through the opening weeks of camp, with Connor Colby working into the mix at left guard. Losing Puni to the concussion protocol, even temporarily, forces San Francisco to lean further on its depth up front.
Halton's ankle issue adds to a defensive tackle room that's already been thin. The 49ers waived Mikail Kamara with an injury designation earlier in camp after he tore his ACL, and rookie C.J. West has been trying to establish himself in the rotation. That group took another hit Wednesday when West and edge rusher ***** us Leo were both shaken up and left practice early, per the same report. Their statuses weren't immediately known, but any extended absence would thin out a front seven that's already dealing with attrition. Halton was enjoying a nice preseason before this injury.
The new additions come on top of an offseason and camp that has been rough on San Francisco's roster. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was placed on season-ending injured reserve because of lingering issues from last year's PCL injury, and the receiver room has been further strained by Mike Evans (quad), Christian Kirk (calf) and De'Zhaun Stribling (hamstring) all missing time. Evans and Stribling are back, at least, and Stribling enjoyed a great preseason debut against the ***** ans.
Running back Jordan James is also out with fractured ribs, and George Kittle opened camp on the active/PUP list as he continues working back from a torn Achilles.

The seconday for the Raiders appeared like it could be in flux this offseason. With the drafting of four defensive backs and the trade acquistion of Taron Johnson, there was a chance things would look a lot different come the season.
The safety position doesn't seem to have changed. Returning starters Jeremy Chinn and Isaiah Pola-Mao seem to have those spots on lock. Rookies Treydan Stukes and Dalton Johnson have not made any real push there.
The cornerback position was another story.
Throughout much of camp, the competition going on at cornerback was fierce. The two rookies Jermod McCoy and Hezekiah Masses were seeing first team reps along with former starter Decamerion Richardson.
Come the game Thursday night, everyone seemed to have a rough outing, but McCoy and Masses had an especially rough go of it as the primary second team cornerbacks. Richardson was excused for the birth of his child.

The Texans announced the addition of a tight end to the roster on Sunday.
They have signed Louis Hansen. There was no corresponding move needed to make room for Hansen in Houston.
It's Hansen's second stint with the Texans. He signed with them in June and was waived in late July.
Hansen played two years at Michigan and three years at Connecticut before going undrafted this April. He had 46 catches for 463 yards and four touchdowns in 40 college games.
Dalton Schultz, Foster Moreau, second-round pick Marlin Klein, Cade Stover, Brevin Jordan, and Layne Pryor are the other tight ends on the Texans' roster.

BALTIMORE − There's not much positive to come out of a game in which the Eagles were thoroughly dominated on both offense and defense in their 24-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in their preseason opener on Aug. 15.
You can start on offense, where the Eagles could only muster two first downs through the first 56 minutes of game time. Both quarterbacks vying for the backup job to Jalen Hurts didn't play well.
Andy Dalton started and led three straight three-and-outs. Tanner McKee played the second and third quarters and didn't fare much better.
Buy Philadelphia Eagles tickets
They were hardly the only ones to blame. Wide receivers dropped passes. Penalties, which plagued the Eagles last season, were a problem again. So was time of possession as the Eagles had the ball for 19 minutes compared to the Ravens' 41 minutes.

A year ago, one of the stars of the NFL preseason was undrafted rookie center Willie Lampkin, who was playing for the Rams and putting on a show, repeatedly knocking opposing defensive linemen on their backs. Unfortunately for Lampkin, he was injured before he could earn a roster spot, and the Rams waived him with an injury designation with the hopes that he would clear waivers and end up back in Los Angeles.
The Eagles, however, recognized Lampkin's talent and made the rare decision to claim the injured undrafted rookie off waivers. That meant Lampkin spent last season rehabbing his injury and developing in Philadelphia, and now he's impressing again in the preseason, with the Eagles.
Lampkin looked great in the Eagles' preseason opener and is drawing attention in particular for one particular play: On a third-and-15 pass, Lampkin kept Ravens defensive tackle Broderick Washington far away from Eagles quarterback Andy Dalton. Some offensive linemen think their job in pass protection is done once the ball is thrown, but the tenacious Lampkin kept blocking Washington, driving him down the field and ultimately throwing him to the ground.
Lampkin was a starting guard for five years of college football, and at North Carolina he was a first-team All-American and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the best offensive lineman in the ACC. With that kind of résumé, you'd think he would have been a top draft prospect. But at North Carolina's Pro Day, Lampkin measured at just under 5-foot-11, and he weighed 279 pounds. NFL teams don't want offensive linemen who are that small. Lampkin went undrafted.
His size hasn't seemed to matter, however, as he's routinely getting the better of much bigger defensive linemen. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said last week that every time he watches the offensive line practice tape, he sees Lampkin doing well.

Lakers predicted to trade Bronny James for $36M Walker Kessler backup in 3-team monster deal originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been pretty active this summer, especially when it comes to reshaping the roster for the future. However, the Lakers have added enough players that they will soon have to make some difficult roster decisions.
Los Angeles wants to contend for a championship, but currently sits one player over the roster limit. There are three players who could potentially be waived to make room.
"Clearly, the Lakers need to dump someone, and I think it's going to be one of three players," Lakers insider Jovan Buha said. "It's going to either be Dalton Knecht, Jaden Hardy, or Bronny James."
The Lakers could easily trade someone to open up a roster spot, but teams may not be willing to take on the contracts Los Angeles wants to move. The team is also in major need of a backup center and has been looking at several options.

The Philadelphia Eagles opened their preseason with a 24-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but the final score only tells part of the story. With Philadelphia holding out many of its key players, the preseason opener was primarily about evaluating young players and roster competitions. Still, several areas stood out after the Eagles managed only 159 total yards and six first downs.
Here are takeaways from the loss.
Philadelphia finished with just 83 passing yards and 76 rushing yards. The Eagles averaged 4.0 yards per play and went 0-for-9 on third down.
Andy Dalton completed 3 of 6 passes for 20 yards, Tanner McKee went 6-of-10 for 35 yards, and Cole Payton completed 4 of 9 passes for 37 yards and a touchdown. Payton also led the Eagles with 45 rushing yards.
The numbers show how difficult it was for Philadelphia to sustain drives.

In his media day press conference on Friday, Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz revealed that a pair of Hawkeyes have suffered significant injuries.
Third-year defensive back Kyler Gerardy and SMU transfer receiver Lance Beeghley are both expected to miss significant time and maybe the entire 2026 season altogether.
"Injury-wise, overall, not too bad. We have two guys right now that may miss a big part of the season if not the entire season. Kyler Gerardy unfortunately was injured Wednesday and Lance Beeghley, a receiver, was hurt about a week ago. Those two guys, we'll see how that goes. Will know more as we move forward. Otherwise, we have some camp issues like every year. Nothing really noteworthy and to comment on," Ferentz said.
Iowa also announced on Friday that transfer safety Tyler Brown is dealing with a muscle strain.
Gerardy saw action in four games last season, logging 29 defensive snaps and five special teams snaps, per Pro Football Focus. The 6-foot, 199-pound defensive back recorded his first career solo tackle during Iowa's 37-0 shutout at Wisconsin last season.

Arizona safeties coach Brett Arce took time from a busy Thursday evening to catch some NFL preseason action, where several of his former pupils were notching their first reps as professionals.
The debuts of Dalton Johnson and Treydan Stukes of the Las Vegas Raiders and Genesis Smith of the Los Angeles Chargers brought Arce much delight. All three developed into NFL Draft picks under his tutelage.
"I was so proud of those guys," Arce said. "And then just to see the reaction of all their teammates. Everybody's cheering when they're making the plays."
Their presence in the NFL is also a reminder of how much talent Arizona needs to replace at the safety position. The Wildcats' safeties room this summer is full of new faces, including several transfer portal additions.
Arizona returns two players at the position in senior Johno Price and sophomore Dajon Hinton, who is recovering from a knee injury he suffered in the Holiday Bowl. Joining the group are Matai Tagoa'i (USC), Lee Molette (UConn), Daylen Austin (Oregon) and Cam Chappa (Northern Colorado). Former walk-on Quinn Olson is also expected to see significant playing time.

Jim Cramer has consistently recommended buying cybersecurity stocks for more than a year. Two firms that regularly cross his radar are Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) and CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD). While the pair operates in the same industry, in today's AI-driven software era, they have taken opposite approaches to their products and business models. The two firms' shares are up by 120% and 98% year-to-date, respectively. On August 6th, Cramer revealed that he had trimmed some of the positions in the firms that the CNBC Investing Club holds in the Charitable Trust:
"We did trim some, we trimmed, some of both, for the Charitable Trust, cause I said, we're up too much, and I just can't do it, I can't live with myself. Up too much, got to take some off the table."
The fact that Cramer trimmed the positions isn't surprising, given the share price performance of the two companies, as the shares of both are up by more than 100% over the past year. Yet, while the CNBC TV host is a fan of both, Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) and CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) have completely different approaches to software. Palo Alto is aiming to sell its legacy software as part of a bundle that also includes its AI offerings. This bundle includes the firm's Prisma software and sells it with its Cortex AI platform. On the other hand, CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) has gone 'all-in' into AI. As opposed to PANW, the firm is focused on its Falcon Platform, a single agent offering that spans identity management, cloud tracking, and other operations.
Therein lies the split between the bulls and the bears for the two firms. CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD)'s bulls argue that its singular focus on AI means that the firm will be able to avoid the pitfalls of fragmentation and will allow users to streamline their data in a single pipeline. However, CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD)'s critics argue that the firm is yet to achieve profitabilty and its valuation, as evidenced by a forward P/E multiple of 181, leaves little room for disappointment.
On the other hand, Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW)'s proponents believe that the bundling strategy enables the firm to deliver multiple services under a single roof and grow its moat in the industry. However, the detractors counter by arguing that the discounts offered as part of the bundles can stress Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW)'s margins. They also outline that the firm still depends on legacy firewall platforms which can lead to a loss of market share due to customers choosing lighter options. These worries appear to be reflected in the multiple as well, since Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) trades at a forward P/E ratio of 93.46.

There was much made of the San Francisco 49ers' draft strategy in 2026 and from previous drafts. It's clear the 49ers have their own board, which is put together with physical and character traits that are desired by the organization. After one preseason game, the 49ers' rookie class was on display against the ****** ans.
De'Zhaun Stribling was stellar with seven catches. Ephesians Prysock showed off his speed and length at cornerback. Jaden Dugger flashed while playing multiple spots on the defense.
Gracen Halton might have made the biggest impact on Thursday night. The defensive tackle spot has needed an upgrade and now with Osa Odighizuwa and Halton, the team may have found a formidable defensive tackle duo. Unfortunately, Alfred Collins experienced the same issues from last season on Thursday and was routinely moved by Tennessee's offensive line. C.J. West is still recovering from injury.
Halton's explosive first step was the story against Tennessee. On 15 pass rushing snaps, Halton generated a pressure and a QB hurry. However, against the run, Halton looked excellent, registering four defensive stops on 15 run defense snaps. Finishing with the highest run defense grade (75.0), Halton showed potential to be a three-down defensive tackle.
While Romello Height gets most of the attention as a pass rush specialist on obvious passing downs, the rookie struggled a bit. It was ****** umed the third-down package would consist of Nick Bosa, Odighizuwa, Mykel Williams (DT), and Height. It is still one preseason game, but the pass rushing package could be Bosa, Osa, Halton, and Mykel.

Lakers predicted to trade Dalton Knecht for $346M ex-Warriors championship duo in 3-team deal originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to several notable names as the offseason continues to march on. Los Angeles is looking to make an even deeper playoff run after falling short of its championship aspirations last season.
The Lakers have been in full pursuit of Jonathan ***** inga for the last two months, but nothing has come to fruition. However, one positive development for Los Angeles is that the former NBA champion has reportedly shut down minimum-salary offers from other teams.
"Jonathan ***** inga is not willing to sign with any team on a one-year prove-it deal at the veteran's minimum. The Kings and Timberwolves recently expressed interest in ***** inga, but the minimum salary made negotiations a no-go. The Lakers remain the favorites to acquire ***** inga," NBA reporter Evan Sidery posted.
The Lakers have also shown interest in four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson. Los Angeles would have to trade for him as well, but Thompson is reportedly open to returning to the city where he spent part of his childhood.

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson's major league-record errorless streak at the position is over at 112 games after he made an errant throw in the eighth inning against Tampa Bay on Tuesday night.
Wilson threw wide of Donovan Walton at second base. It came with the A's trailing 9-2, and the Rays scored three times in the eighth to take a 12-2 lead.
It was Wilson's first error since July 6, 2025, and the ninth in his career over 231 games.
Wilson, 24, on Sunday surpassed Mike Bordick's shortstop errorless record of 110 games. His father, Jack Wilson, played 12 years in the majors, also at shortstop.

Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing went through the second-opinion carousel — "opinions on opinions," as he put it — after his elbow started bothering him on Aug. 2 while playing catch in the outfield before the a game against the Red Sox.
"We then come to an agreement that surgery is not necessary," Rushing said Tuesday. "So, we're going to rehab the muscle on the inside of my forearm. And the details as to timeline, I don't really have any for you. But at the same time, I can say it feels 10 times better than it did a week ago. And as soon as I can be throwing a baseball, I will be."
Rushing said that Sunday was the first time he'd felt pain while throwing — "didn't feel a pop or anything, but felt pretty serious as it kind of tightened up on me a little bit."
Manager Dave Roberts said last week that Rushing's MRI showed a slight UCL tear. Rushing added Tuesday that something similar had appeared on previous scans, without symptoms.
"It's something we've known about, but it hasn't gotten worse over the years," Rushing said. "And so it puts my arm in just a fine spot, and obviously, we just worry about the muscle."

Sands Capital, an investment management company, released its "Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund" Q2 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. In the quarter, global equities rebounded sharply, with the MSCI ACWI posting its strongest quarterly gain since 2020, supported by broad market strength, easing geopolitical tensions, and continued enthusiasm for AI infrastructure. Information technology led the advance, with semiconductor and hardware companies accounting for most of the index's rise. The fund returned 26.9% (net) in the second quarter of 2026. The portfolio benefited from strong gains across memory, software infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other AI-related holdings, although its concentrated exposure to mega-cap chip designers and manufacturers weighed on relative performance as leadership broadened into CPUs, networking, and memory. Vertical software, internet, and financial holdings were modest detractors amid macro concerns and uncertainty over AI disruption. The fund remains focused on critical AI bottlenecks, including compute, memory, manufacturing, networking, and power, while retaining selected businesses that may use AI to strengthen their competitive positions. You can check the fund's top five holdings to learn more about its leading investment ideas for the year.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund highlighted Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) as a leading individual contributor. Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) provides cybersecurity solutions in the Americas and internationally. On August 7, 2026, Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) closed at $363.86 per share. The one-month return of Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) was 10.16% and its shares gained 116.36% over the past 52 weeks. Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) has a market capitalization of $296.55 billion.
Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund stated the following regarding Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) was a contributor during the quarter, supported by strong results and continued investor confidence in cybersecurity demand. Fiscal third-quarter results showed demand remains robust, as rapid AI adoption expands enterprise attack surfaces and increases the need for scaled cybersecurity platforms that can provide visibility, control, and protection against more sophisticated threats. Management also noted an improving demand pipeline following Palo Alto Networks' inclusion as a launch partner in Project Glasswing, Anthropic's initiative to use the Claude Mythos model to help defenders secure critical software for the AI era. In our view, these developments reinforce Palo Alto Networks' position as a critical enabling platform for secure AI adoption. The company is well positioned to benefit from this demand environment through its broad product portfolio, scaled customer base,

Iconic actress Julie Andrews' new book, set to hit shelves on August 11, encourages readers to find their voice through the story of one very special, and very musical, pup.
Julie and her daughter, author, editor, and producer Emma Walton Hamilton, have co-authored 35 books together, but this children's book is especially meaningful because it was inspired by a real, four-legged family member: a Miniature Poodle named Shy. The singing dog had been famous in their family long before her 'tail' made it onto the page, and the mother-daughter duo hopes that her stories—both real and fictional—inspire readers to celebrate their talents and strengths, whatever they may be.
Let's rewind: In the 1950s, when Julie was busy rehearsing for her starring role as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, a small Poodle puppy joined the family. Originally, the pup's registered name was "Whisper of Whey," but Andrews' aunt suggested the name 'Shy' to pay homage to both her sweet temperament and her original moniker.
When it came to musical rehearsals, though, the dog wasn't shy at all. Julie revealed, "Each time I sat down at the piano and began to do my scales, Shy would lift her little nose to the air and start to howl, as if she were singing along. I wondered at first if it was a comment on the quality of my singing!"
As days went by, however, Andrews learned she could guide her dog's howling up and down the scale. It wasn't long until the Miniature Poodle became desperate to sing along, which, as endearing as it was, made rehearsing for performances much more complicated than it needed to be.

United States President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino found themselves at the center of some controversy together at the FIFA World Cup. Now, as Infantino could be on the verge of losing his position, Trump has spoken out in his defense.
In a social media post on Monday, Trump warned that it would be a "terrible mistake" to replace Infantino as FIFA's president.
Throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Trump and the United States have faced some heavy criticism for a wide variety of reasons.
Fans have expressed frustration at FIFA's decision to allow Trump to hand the trophy to the victors following the World Cup Final, the treatment of Iranian players throughout the tournament, Africa's top referee being denied entry into the country, the Americanization of the sport with commercials during "hydration breaks," an extended Super Bowl style halftime show at the final, and championship rings, and most notably, Trump's involvement in getting the red card suspension to Folarin Balogun overturned.
The Balogun red card situation in particular sparked such widespread outrage throughout the international soccer community. As a result of these controversies, Trump was loudly booed by fans on multiple occasions during his appearance at the match on Sunday, and it sounds like Ceferin refused to attend the game altogether.

WALTON — There's good news at Lewis Cass in regards to athletic trainer Sally Young being back on the sidelines as the athletic trainer.

For a time it looked that Young might be out of a job at Lewis Cass.
But Parkview Logansport Hospital stepped up to the plate and saved the day.
Lewis Cass' previous superintendent Dr. Christopher Daughtry, who recently took the job at Wabash City Schools, also had an ****** ist, as well as the Lewis Cass school board.

"Is there an AI bubble?" is such a tired thought. Here's something altogether more wired: The AI boom is paying off, but not in a way that the current equities market has accounted for. The success of the technology in one area of the economy could make the bubble real in another, more precisely.
In a blog post published on Friday, Apollo Chief Economist Torsten Slok highlighted that the parts of the AI value chain with the highest profit margins—companies making AI models and applications—actually have the lowest levels of profitability, a departure from the standard business model of, well business, in which profit margins are higher for companies selling an end product to consumers.
Slok broke down AI companies into four categories: models and applications, cloud and compute, energy and grid, and silicon and equipment. Using data from Pitchbook and Bloomberg for companies including OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Amazon, Constellation Energy, Nvidia, AMD, and Micron, Slok calculated that silicon and equipment—such as chipmakers—has the highest profit margin, 41%, in the AI value chain. Meanwhile, models and applications—like Anthropic—have a -59% operating margin.
Slok warns that this sharp disparity is because money from the AI boom is not coming from natural demand for AI applications, but rather shareholders hoping to cash in on what they hope is the next technological revolution.
"AI boom's profits are currently being funded by investors rather than earned from customers," Slok said. "The upstream margins are real, but they are paid for out of capital raised by the layer losing money, not out of cash generated by end demand."

The Cincinnati Reds just got swept by a Washington Nationals club that was behind them on the periphery of the National League Wild Card standings at the outset of the series. It's a Nats club that just spent the last two weeks selling off pieces of importance to other clubs as they prepped for the future, a club with clearly more intent on both short and long term determination to be comfortable in their own dealings than the Reds.
Cincinnati is now 5 games under .500, again. They are back in last place in the NL Central and 6.0 games out of the final Wild Card spot, again with 6 teams they'd need to leapfrog to get there with a miracle. And they are devoid of Hunter Greene, again, as he's now out for the rest of 2026 (and likely all of 2027, too).
With any last ditch effort at postseason ball now completely in the ******* per, here's what Cincinnati Reds fans have to look forward to for the rest of the season.
The brightest of bright spots on the 2026 club has been Chase Burns, who has emerged fully as a legitimate ace and signed a long-term contract to be part of the club for a long, long time.
He's going to hit an innings limit quite soon, though. And when he does, he'll either be shifted to a sparingly-used reliever or shut down altogether.

Lakers' $7M historic 3-and-D guard not expected to be waived over Dalton Knecht, Jarred Vanderbilt originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Lakers are still trying to get things done this summer to bolster their roster even further. LA has done a nice job of acquiring former Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler and getting a deal done to bring back Austin Reaves.
Now, after all of the additions, the Lakers sit one player above the allowed roster limit. They will have to make a decision before the end of training camp.
"There are, however, obvious holes. With 16 roster spots, the Lakers would need to get rid of at least one player, though they can carry as many as 20 through training camp in October," Heavy.com's Sean Deveney wrote.
There is a consensus that one of four players could be waived by the organization if no trade is made. Dalton Knecht, Bronny James, Jaden Hardy, and Jarred Vanderbilt are all possible options. However, James appears to be the only safe player of the group as of now.

On August 4, Tenable Holdings (NASDAQ:TENB) announced that it now covers every major AI platform and developer tool through its Tenable One platform, adding Google Gemini to a list that already included Anthropic Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise, and Microsoft Copilot. It is a bet that as companies rush to adopt AI, someone needs to watch where the risk is hiding, and Tenable wants to be the company holding that flashlight.
The scale of the problem Tenable is chasing is hard to ignore. The company said it detected 457 million AI-related security issues across more than 7,000 organizations, averaging 62,000 exposures per organization over 30 days. That is the kind of number that makes the case for exposure management on its own. Tenable One AI Exposure now extends discovery to every major LLM, all major Model Context Protocol deployments, and AI-native development tools like Cursor, Windsurf, and Trae, roughly doubling its coverage of sanctioned and shadow AI in one release. Beyond just finding the exposures, the platform lets security teams act on them directly, creating tickets in Jira or ServiceNow (NYSE:NOW), or firing off alerts through email, Slack, or Teams. That combination of visibility and Tenable's Hexa AI engine, which automates remediation tasks, is what the company is positioning as a full loop rather than another dashboard ****** ody checks.
The business results back up the demand story. Tenable One made up half of the company's new sales in the second quarter, evidence that customers are consolidating onto the full platform instead of buying individual point tools. Second-quarter revenue came in at $268.5 million, ahead of management's guided range of $263 million to $266 million, while operating expenses fell to $195.8 million from $200.3 million a year earlier. That combination flipped a $14.7 million net loss into a $3.8 million net profit, and adjusted profit jumped 40% to $57.9 million. The stock is up more than 40% in 2026 on the back of that improvement, yet Tenable's market capitalization of $3.6 billion is still a fraction of CrowdStrike Holdings (NASDAQ:CRWD) and Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ:PANW), whose combined market cap tops $450 billion.
That gap shows up in valuation too. Tenable trades at a price-to-sales ratio of 3.7, well below its own historical average of 7.1 since going public in 2018, and far cheaper than Palo Alto Networks at 22.9 times sales or CrowdStrike at 38.1 times. But cheap multiples usually come with a reason attached. Tenable's revenue grew 8.6% year over year in the quarter, modest next to CrowdStrike's annual recurring revenue growth of 24% to $5.5 billion. Some of Tenable's profit turnaround came from cutting costs, including in growth-oriented areas like marketing, rather than from accelerating sales. That is a reasonable way to prove discipline, but it raises the question of whether faster growth is coming or whether the company is simply managing a slower-growth business more efficiently.

A fashion label called Fecal Matter is having a moment.
Matières Fécales — literally French for "fecal matter" — has gone from an intentionally provocative outsider project to dressing some of the world's biggest celebrities, including Zendaya, Lady Gaga, Demi Moore and Kylie Jenner.
And yes, the name is intentional.
Canadian designers Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran founded the label after meeting as fashion students in Montreal. Frustrated with an industry they viewed as wasteful, exclusionary and obsessed with consumption, the pair wanted a name that reflected their criticism of it.
They landed on Matières Fécales — not the more familiar French "merde," or "caca," but the considerably more clinical term for fecal matter.

How good is the Houston Texans' secondary entering 2026?
In a sense, slightly underrated by Pro Football Focus compared to other rankings around the NFL, most notably at cornerback.
PFF recently revealed its top 32 cornerbacks for the 2026 season, with both Kamari Lassiter and two-time All-Pro Derek Stingley Jr. ranked inside the top 10. Stingely, who has been arguably the second-best cornerback since 2024 behind former Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain II, came in at No. 7 overall, behind names like Surtain, Seattle's Devon Witherspoon and Indianapolis' Sauce Gardner.
The reason? Yards before contact.
"Stingley experienced a bit of a volatile 2025 campaign in coverage last season, but his elite ball skills still allowed him to tally four interceptions and nine pass breakups," PFF's Dalton Wasserman wrote. "His 73.5 PFF coverage grade ranked 23rd among all qualified cornerbacks. Over the past three years, Stingley slots second among qualified cornerbacks with a 90.3 coverage grade. He and Kamari Lassiter make a good case to be labeled the NFL's best cornerback duo."

Training camp is filled with position battles, but not all of them receive the same attention. This time around, much of the focus has centered on the Philadelphia Eagles' wide receiver competition. There have also been conversations about a possible late safety addition by Howie Roseman as the backend of Vic Fangio's defense remains a talking point.
There's the backup quarterback race, Tanner McKee vs. Andy Dalton. No one, however, should ignore another important battle, one quietly taking shape among the backups along the offensive line. Drew Kendall may be one of the early winners.
Per multiple sources who have attended camp, the second-year veteran has consistently found himself in a prominent role whenever the Eagles have needed reinforcements up front. More importantly, he has continued to make the most of those opportunities. He has received rave reviews for his work.
One of the clearest indicators of a player's standing during training camp isn't what coaches say. It's where they place him. Kendall has repeatedly been among the first offensive linemen called upon when the Eagles need someone to step into a larger role.
Whether filling in at guard or handling additional responsibilities with various units, his workload suggests the coaching staff has developed a growing level of trust in him. That trust isn't handed out freely, especially in Philadelphia.

A year ago, cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW) carried a market value of about $113 billion. As of this writing, it stands near $295 billion. That's a gain of more than 150% in 12 months, leaving shares within about 4% of their 52-week high. The climb spans the whole year, with the stock's 52-week range running from $139.57 to $376.98.
A move like that usually means the business transformed. And Palo Alto's business has changed. It bought identity-security company CyberArk and observability company Chronosphere, and management says demand for securing artificial intelligence (AI) deployments is accelerating its bookings.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
But revenue was guided to grow about 24% in fiscal 2026, a year that ended July 31 -- and a decent chunk of that growth was acquired. The company's market value grew about six times faster.
So what changed enough to justify nearly tripling the company's value in a year? Less than the stock price implies, I'd argue.
