William admitted that he went through a phase when he wanted to become a DJ, although things did not quite work out as planned. During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Prince William revealed two career paths he considered pursuing when he was younger. The Prince of Wales shared that he once dreamed of becoming a police officer and also hoped to explore a career as a DJ.
"I did want to be a policeman when I was younger; I did think I would be a good policeman," he admitted. William then recalled his brief aspirations of becoming a DJ, a dream that never materialized. However, he had already picked out a stage name for himself.

LONDON (AP) — Sarina Wiegman has signed a contract extension to stay as head coach of the England's women team through the 2029 European Championship, the FA said on Monday.
The Dutch coach, who will turn 57 later this month, led the Lionesses to a second straight Euros ****** le last year, having also steered the team to the World Cup final in 2023.

England women's head coach Sarina Wiegman has signed a two-year contract extension taking her through until the end of the 2029 women's European Championship, the Football **** ociation announced Monday.
Wiegman has led England to tournament triumphs at both the 2022 and 2025 Euros, as well as a first World Cup final in 2023, since taking charge in September 2021.
The 56-year-old Dutchwoman has reached five successive major tournament finals, also winning Euro 2017 with her native Netherlands.
"I am so happy to be able to carry on with this squad and cannot think of a better job in football," Wiegman said Monday.

One ESPN ****** yst claims to have some insight on the biggest story surrounding the Detroit Red Wings.
In an episode of the Frankly Hockey podcast featuring NHL ****** ysts John Buccigross and Frank Seravalli published on Friday, Oct. 16, Buccigross said he had information that indicated the Red Wings will soon be making a blockbuster deal.
"I think there's going to be a trade within seven to 10 days in Detroit," he said.
Seravalli then asked Buccigross to confirm that he was talking about disgruntled star Dylan Larkin, to which Buccigross said yes, "that's coming."
Larkin's trade request became public knowledge on June 4, with the native Michigander having played a big role on the Red Wings since his rookie season in 2015-16. About a month after the news broke, the Red Wings parted ways with longtime general manager Steve Yzerman and named Shawn Horcoff the interim GM on Sept. 15.

Darien celebrated three state championships in girls sports last school year: field hockey, girls ice hockey and girls lacrosse.
Adriana Gromelski was an integral part of all three as she earned GametimeCT All-State First Team honors in each sport and was named GametimeCT Female Athlete of the Year.
In all, Gromelski has been part of six state **** les during her time with the Blue Wave.
"Only one team can win it. It's a moment not everyone gets to have," Gromelski said. "I'm super grateful I've gotten to experience it multiple times."
With that in mind, the senior star decided to switch sports this fall for a new high school experience. Instead of helping Darien defend its CIAC field hockey crown, Gromelski switched to soccer. It's a sport she played from elementary school through eighth grade.

Maja Chwalinska and Sonay Kartal have both been rewarded for their runs to the Wuhan Open final.
Chwalinska beat Kartal 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 to win her first ever WTA **** le at the Wuhan Open, which is a 1000 level tournament.
This is another huge result in a breakout season for Chwalinska, who reached the Roland Garros final after coming through qualifying earlier this year.

Qinwen Zheng has battled unimaginable fitness concerns over the past few years, which threatened to completely derail such a promising start to her career.
Having emerged onto the scene as inarguably one of the most talented Chinese players of all time, she soon started achieving feats to back up such promise.
Deep runs in WTA 1000 and Grand Slam tournaments felt relatively regular, and culminated in her reaching the final of the Australian Open in 2024, and the Wuhan Open later that year.

Bengaluru: For Tilak Varma, the number next to his name on the team sheet matters far less than the one on the scoreboard at the end of the match.

The India T20I vice-captain has seen his role evolve considerably in recent months, moving from the top order to the finisher's role as the team continues to fine-tune its combinations. While adapting to different batting positions is rarely straightforward, the 23-year-old has embraced the challenge and put the team's needs ahead of personal preference.

Having begun his T20I career near the top of the order, Tilak now often finds himself walking in at No. 5 or 6. With Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma opening, Ishan Kishan firmly established at No. 3 and skipper Shreyas Iyer occupying the next slot, opportunities higher up the order have become limited.

Rather than viewing it as a setback, Tilak sees it as another responsibility to master.

"Ishan is batting brilliantly at No. 3. So, for me, there is no option but to bat at 5 and 6 and do the job for the team. I am mentally prepared for that role and in the last few games, I have won matches from there. So, I am pretty confident," Tilak said after the rain-hit series decider against the West Indies in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The left-hander admitted that the transition from a top-order batter to a finisher has not been without its challenges.

"It's not easy to change from No. 3 to No. 5 or 6. It is slightly challenging. But I have been working on how I can finish games, and I love finishing games for the country," he said.

The demands of batting in the lower middle order are vastly different from those of a top-order role. There is little time to settle in, and the emphasis is on making an immediate impact rather than constructing an innings. Tilak said he has consciously altered his preparation to meet those demands.

"I have been working on it in the nets. Otherwise, it becomes tough. When you go in as a finisher and a slower ball comes into your arc, you need to be ready to hit it for six. In T20 cricket, if you bat at No. 5 or 6, you generally get only five or six overs, so I have had to change my approach."

Fortunately for Tilak, batting down the order is not entirely new territory.

"I batted lower down the order in my childhood as well. I have shots all around the ground and I am confident in my ability to adapt. Whether it is No. 3 or No. 5, I believe I have the technique to fit into any role for the team if I prepare well," he said.

All of a sudden, that 24-team College Football Playoff format might be front and center for an SEC dreaming of getting five, six, ten of its members into the postseason tournament.

Yes, the CFP is supposed to use a new metric – which is really a twist on what it already utilizes – that gives more respect to the strengths of schedules. That's supposed to boost the SEC – give, say, 2025 Texas credit for losing at Ohio State, even though it went 9-3 – but there are two issues with that, at least when it comes to what we're projecting below.

First, the College Football Playoff always falls back on record ranking. If there's a debate in the Grapevine meeting room – it's nice; the food is tremendous – 10-2 is a lot easier to sell than 9-3, which is why we haven't seen Power Four programs with three pre-conference championship losses leapfrog those with two or fewer.

And second, even though the upsets are coming – last Saturday probably wasn't an outlier – there's no way, no how, no chance the committee will put in a 9-3 power conference team in over an 11-1 Power Four program.

That's where the SEC comes in. A few weeks ago, it looked like the conference would own the CFP. And then Florida started losing. So did LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. Now, as we're doing this just past the midway point in the season, there are just four SEC teams left – Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee – with fewer than two losses, and all of them have one.

So how many SEC teams will make the College Football Playoff? Our best guess is three, and it'll take a shoehorn to make that happen. (By the way, we're still bullish on Kentucky, but we're predicting a few close losses over the next few weeks.)

Chris Boswell has officially etched his name in the Pittsburgh Steelers' history books during the team's Week 6 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Trailing the Buccaneers 13-0, the Steelers called on Boswell to kick a 52-yard field goal, which he made with ease. This successful field goal was the 309th of his career and would tie legendary Steelers kicker Gary Anderson's record for the most field goals made in team history. Oh, but Boswell wasn't finished there, as he successfully connected on a 39-yard attempt to secure his 310th field goal, surpassing Anderson and setting a new record in Pittsburgh that should only grow this season. Boswell also hit on two more field goals to close out the game, pushing the record to 312.

Caleb Williams is back! And back in a big way for the Bears, going 305/1/0 on 30 of 36 passes, in a win over the Atlanta Falcons. It also appears that Williams has reinvigorated the fantasy potential of Luther Burden and Colston Loveland, who were both off to mixed starts this season. It's also somewhat good to see that their defense is still terrible, which will only further boost Williams' production. So many of us want to believe that Kyle Pitts will be an elite tight end, but the lack of consistent production makes it tough to put him in our lineups every week. He's looked good over the last two weeks, but that's been bolstered by some touchdowns. Drake London still leads the team in target share, but if Michael Penix is willing to look to Pitts in the red zone, the touchdown upside will be there for him. I continue to think that Pitts is a low-end TE1 on most weeks, given the overall offensive potential of the Falcons.
While it was only his second game this season, Omar Cooper Jr. looked great for the Jets. A big 103 yards on 6 receptions and one touchdown pushed him to the top of the box score against the Patriots. It's also nice to see him do this while Garrett Wilson was also playing for the Jets. However, the question becomes: is this sustainable? Once Breece Hall gets back to the Jets offense, their overall dynamic might change, but Cooper Jr. has a role right now.
Is Noel the key to the Texans offense? The run game certainly isn't great; we know how good Nico Collins is, but they are missing another element, and Noel is shaping up to be that answer. Coming into this week, he led the Texans with 17.5 yards per reception and 13.35 yards per target. He brought this into the matchup versus the Jaguars and ended with 4/107/1, which is certainly his ceiling outcome, but this is the third straight week he's had either 80-plus receiving yards or a touchdown.

Or at the other end, like how Wooden Spoon 'winners' in waiting Sporting Kansas City are the first team ruled ineligible for the postseason party. Others in between will have to sweat for their place right down to Decision Day, next month's regular-season finale.
However you splice it, we're now up to nine teams in and one team out. That's a decent enough place for us to start our Matchday 31 rundown.
