Crawley Town have signed full-back Omari Mrisho following a successful trial with the League Two club.
The 20-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with an option of a third at Broadfield Stadium.
Mrisho started his career at Brighton & Hove Albion before spells at Huddersfield Town and Sutton United.
The club said he impressed on Saturday during their 1-0 pre-season victory over Eastleigh.

A Detroit Tigers pitcher has suffered a setback in his rehab.
Right-hander Burch Smith exited his rehab outing for Triple-A Toledo two pitches into his relief appearance on Thursday, July 23. He threw two fastballs to begin the top of the seventh inning, showing visible discomfort on both pitches, before walking off the mound and talking with a trainer.
According to Tigers manager A.J. Hinch, Smith pulled himself out of the game with an apparent issue with his right shoulder. Smith will be evaluated for a potential injury in his shoulder and lat area, though the Tigers don't yet know the extent of the issue.

Rip Hamilton is eager for his eldest son to begin his college basketball career, not far from the site of the former Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Detroit Pistons legend and his two sons – Deuce, and Parker – were present at a youth golf clinic at Belle Isle Golf Center on Thursday, July 23. Deuce, the elder son, is entering his freshman year with the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, where he will play for long-tenured head coach Greg Campe.
Born in 2007, Deuce entered the world in the middle of his dad's nine-year career with the Pistons from 2002-11. He recently completed his senior year at Oakwood in North Hollywood, California, and committed to Oakland in March.

The Los Angeles Rams added two new uniforms to their wardrobe on Thursday night, unveiling their latest alternates for the upcoming season. They revealed them at a special event for season ticket members, giving fans a first look at the latest jerseys that will be worn this year.
After making some very welcome changes to their current uniforms in April, including the removal of gradient numbers and name tags on the jerseys, the Rams are turning back the clock with these two alternates. Before the Minnesota Lynx's road matchup against the Seattle Storm, head coach Cheryl Reeve gave Napheesa Collier a piece of advice ahead of her long-awaited return to the court.
"Cheryl (Reeve) did say ... 'It's going to take time to come back and to get settled in,'" Collier said Wednesday, July 22.
Well, it didn't take long for the five-time All-Star to get back into the swing of things. Collier recorded a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double in the Lynx's 86-76 win over the Storm, marking her first game since Sept. 26, 2025.
"I was just so excited. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I couldn't wait to get on the court to get with these guys," Collier said. "I was just really just happy to be here. ... It's just a year of pent-up excitement."
Collier underwent surgeries to both ankles this offseason after suffering multiple ankle injuries during the 2025 WNBA season. She injured her ankle during a 111-58 win over the Las Vegas Aces in August 2025 and missed 11 games. During Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals against the Phoenix Mercury, Collier suffered a Grade 2 tear of three ankle ligaments and her shin muscle after a collision with Alyssa Thomas.

Red represents physical disabilities, yellow stands for cognitive disabilities, white signifies invisible disabilities, blue symbolises mental illnesses, green represents sensory disabilities and black is in memory of people who died due to discrimination. It’s a visible sign of respect, self-determination and an inclusive society. Together with the state capital of Munich, the German champions are sending out a clear signal: people with disabilities are, of course, an integral part of society – including in sport and in the stadium.
“FC Bayern stands for diversity and does a lot to raise awareness of the lives of people with disabilities,” explained disability officer Kim Krämer. “The club has been carrying out various inclusion-focused projects for many years. West Ham have agreed a £68 million deal to sell winger Crysencio Summerville to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
This figure represents a significant increase on the £39 million bid previously understood to have been made by Serie A side Roma, with Manchester United and Aston Villa also having shown interest in the 24-year-old.
Summerville, who still has three years remaining on his contract at the London Stadium, has been widely expected to depart following West Ham's relegation from the Premier League in May.
While United and Villa were keen to keep him in the top flight, Roma had appeared closest to securing his signature before the Saudi club's considerably higher offer.
The Netherlands international is now expected to undergo a medical and finalise a long-term contract.

Few sights in women's cricket are as reassuring as Smriti Mandhana in full flow for India. The elegant left-hander was at her fluent best in India's historic Test triumph at Lord's, scoring twin half-centuries to help script a memorable victory over England.

In an interview with TOI, the 29-year-old spoke about India's landmark win at Lord's, lessons from repeated T20 World Cup disappointments, the impact of the WPL, and why she feels ready for the India captaincy if and when the opportunity comes. Excerpts...

What did it mean to be part of India's first-ever women's Test at Lord's and contribute significantly to the win?

It was amazing to be part of the first-ever women's Test at Lord's and, more importantly, to win it. Contributing to a historic victory for India was special. As kids, we all dreamt of playing Test cricket, so to do it at Lord's made it even more memorable.

Yastika Bhatia credited you for helping her through her recovery after ACL surgery. What did you tell her?

Any knee injury is extremely difficult for a player. In Yastika's case, it happened before a home World Cup, which made it even tougher. I told her how my own ACL injury in 2017 helped me grow both as a person and an athlete. Some of my best cricket came after that setback. I felt she would connect with that and stay motivated through the rehabilitation process.

Why do you think India exited the T20 World Cup early?

It's important to introspect and learn from mistakes. Unfortunately, we haven't learnt enough from our past errors and have continued to repeat them. Going forward, there needs to be a clear roadmap until the 2028 T20 World Cup on how we want to approach the format and what we need to do as a team.

There has been speculation about a captaincy transition. Are you ready to lead India if asked?

Yes, of course. I am ready.

Four seasons into the WPL, India's T20 results haven't improved significantly. Has the league delivered enough Indian talent?

I think the WPL has produced a lot of new talent and several players have made it to the national team. However, I feel they haven't always been utilised to their best ability.

You have led RCB to back-to-back WPL ****** les. What is your leadership philosophy?

For me, creating a positive team culture is most important. Every player should feel comfortable expressing themselves and being who they are. When people feel valued and trusted, they tend to perform better.

You've consistently delivered in major tournaments. Do big events bring out the best in you?

It's been a work in progress. Over the last couple of years, I've felt much calmer about my cricket, whether it's a big tournament or a bilateral series. That calmness has helped me focus on doing my job for the team.

As India's premier batter, do you feel burdened by expectations?

We have a lot of quality batters in this team. Whenever you pick up the bat for India, there is pressure to help your team win. But I

Hoffman in. Xander Bogaerts, leading off, ground one softly (63.4 mph) up the middle, but between second and short. Ernie Clement got to it too deep to make a play. Bogaerts stole second. Manny Machado lined a single to center, scoring the run. Gavin Sheets ground one at Andrés Giménez, but Clements was slow getting to second so they couldn't get the lead runner. The out at first wasn't enough. I didn't understand why Clements couldn't get to the bag before the base runner. They had a shot at a double play. After that, a steal of third and a sac fly brought in the go ahead run. That was the game.
Barker talked about it after and watching it, again, I still don't get what Ernie was doing.
And the bottom of the ninth went too quick. Ground out, pop out, strikeout.

There's a real full-back problem at Liverpool. That problem actually arrived in 2025 with Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving the club but to say it's been exacerbated since then is an understatement.
Andy Robertson has now left as well, while Conor Bradley has a serious injury that rules him out long-term. Jeremie Frimpong, signed as Alexander-Arnold's replacement, looks incapable of playing there reliably - or at least, Arne Slot gave up on the idea.
As things stand, Kostas Tsimikas will return to fill the Robertson void. He's another who hasn't been trusted in the past and even AS Roma were reluctant to play him.
Milos Kerkez stands as the sole reliable full-back, then. It's not really enough.

When Desert Edge High School wide receiver Zerek Sidney committed to the Washington Huskies in January, the Arizona product chose Jedd Fisch's program over Arizona State, Oklahoma, and USC as one of the most sought-after players in the West.
However, after pledging to the Huskies as a four-star prospect, Sidney has seen his stock fall throughout the offseason. The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect currently sits as the nation's No. 724 overall recruit and No. 84 wide receiver in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite, and has become the lowest-ranked of Washington's four commits at the position after injuries shortened his junior season to just one game.
Despite that, Sidney has still been one of the most important members of Fisch's recruiting class both on and off the field.
On the field, Sidney is the ideal fit for the slot role in Fisch's offense, although he also has the ideal speed and athleticism to play on the outside in the Z position, as fellow Arizona native Dezmen Roebuck did in 2025 when he earned Freshman All-America honors.
"Skilled wide receiver with a well-rounded game that should offer some inside-outside versatility with his tempo and hands," 247Sports' Andrew Ivins wrote in his evaluation.

Arsenal are interested in signing West Ham United defender Konstantinos Mavropanos this summer, according to Sky Sports. ******* nal manager Mikel Arteta wants quality depth at the Emirates and the North London club could look to sign the former Gunners player. The 6ft 4in Mavropanos played seven Premier League games for the club after joining from PAS Giannina in 2018. He left in 2021 but could be rejoining the North Londoners despite the Gunners having William Saliba, Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White as right-footed centre-back options.
Ian Wright believed at the time that Mavropanos is 'going to be an ******* nal legend', and the 28-year-old could be open to a return. He is expected to leave West Ham following their relegation to the Championship, and he is attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League sides and European clubs. The Greek international had an impressive individual campaign with the Hammers, and ******* nal remaining admirers. However, it is unknown whether Mavropanos will fancy his chances of playing regularly given the options Arteta currently has in his position.

For a brief time on Tuesday, July 7, Detroit Tigers right-handed starter Jackson Jobe was back on the baseball mound in a game with competitive stakes.
Jobe, who has been out since June 2025 after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, made his first rehab start with Low-A Lakeland on Tuesday. Jobe gave up one run on two hits over 1⅓ innings against the Dunedin Blue Jays at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida.
Jobe threw 32 pitches, 24 of which were strikes. He struck out one of the six batters he faced with a slider at the bottom of the zone. Jobe also touched 100 mph with his four-seam fastball. He threw six pitches in the second inning, getting the only batter he faced to ground out.
"He's ready to go and, obviously, he's been throwing the ball well," Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said ahead of the series opener against the Athletics on Tuesday afternoon.
Jobe's catcher was Josue Briceño, the Tigers' No. 3-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline.

Belgium coach Rudi Garcia fears that midfielder Amadou Onana won't be available for the World Cup quarter-finals against Spain on Friday due to injury.
"I'm afraid Amadou will miss the next game in the tournament. I hope not, but I have a feeling he won't be playing," he said on Monday after the 4-1 win over co-hosts United States in the last 16.
Onana had to be subbed off in the 21st minute after he seemed to overstretch and hurt his right knee.
"We fear it's a serious injury. This isn't good news for him or for us as a team," Garcia said.

After a week straight of losing games, the San Diego Padres finally put one back in the win column. With their win on Sunday afternoon, the club staved off the sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers. That, thankfully, put an end to the Friars’ eight-game losing streak. It has felt like much longer than that, but the club has started to look better. The last three games have felt especially healthy, despite San Diego being 1-2 in that span.
Starter JP Sears pitched four hitless innings against L.A. before giving up a single in the bottom of the fifth. Bench coach Randy Knorr, who replaced Craig Stammen after the latter was ejected in the first inning, decided to pull Sears for unknown reasons. San Diego’s starters have looked better lately. They’ll need to keep that up against the Arizona Diamondbacks heading into their final homestand before the All-Star break.
Pfaadt has been a solid back-end starter for Arizona, but he’s struggled lately. This season, the righty owns a 5.40 ERA through just 43 1/3 innings pitched. Pfaadt’s pitched better as of late, but he still owns a 4.50 ERA across his last 14 innings.
San Diego should have no problems tagging the righty for some runs. Jake Croneworth owns a lifetime .409 batting average against him (22 at-bats). Similarly, third baseman Manny Machado has a 1.061 OPS versus Pfaadt. Both will look to continue that success.
After completely turning his season around, Buehler had a setback in his last start. Buehler had given up just one run apiece in every start he made in June. Then came his last outing against the Chicago Cubs. Nine earned runs in just four innings of work. It was, by far, the righty’s roughest outing this season.
