BERLIN (AP) — The U.S. women are in a familiar spot — playing for another FIBA World Cup championship.
Getting to a fifth consecutive ******* le game was a little harder then the previous few as they beat Spain 76-66 on Saturday in the semifinals. The Americans had averaged winning the previous four semifinals by 26 points, including a 40-point rout of Canada in 2022.
The Americans will face France in a rematch of the 2024 Paris Olympic gold-medal game that the U.S. won by a point.
"I think it's two great teams going to go head-to-head," said Kahleah Copper, who had 13 points in the win against Spain. "You know I'm excited for the matchup. I'm excited for us to be able to compete."
The U.S. has won 35 straight games in the World Cup going back to a loss to Russia in the semifinals in 2006. Now the Americans are one win away from a fifth consecutive tournament ******* le. That would match the former Soviet Union for the most consecutive championships.

Ryan Garcia's emotion in the ring was palpable as he had the green WBC welterweight ******* le wrapped around his waist following a one-sided unanimous decision win over Mario Barrios in February.
But the victory tour is long over now. A far more stoic Garcia arrived in Las Vegas this week for his first ******* le defense against Conor Benn, a boisterous British contender and son of Hall of Famer Nigel Benn.

Kelly Osbourne loves her mother, but she is not pretending they agree on everything.
Asked directly about Sharon Osbourne's support for British activist Tommy Robinson during an interview with Attitude at London's National Television Awards, Kelly gave an equally direct answer: "I don't agree with my mum, no."

Sexyy Red could be facing a $5 million judgment in a lawsuit brought by the grandmother of one of her children, but the money has not been awarded.
Nicole Barnes is asking a judge to enter a default judgment after claiming the rapper failed to respond to the case, according to new court documents obtained by TMZ. Barnes sued ****** yy Red in March 2025 over allegations that the rapper posted her home address online and encouraged followers to attack her.
Barnes says ordinary efforts to serve the lawsuit were unsuccessful and that she later served ****** yy Red through publication in a newspaper. She now argues that the lack of a response entitles her to a default judgment for $5 million.
Sexyy Red is disputing the underlying case. Her attorney Jason Lampert told TMZ that the claims are "baseless and completely without merit" and said the rapper categorically denies the allegations and intends to defend herself. The judge has not yet ruled on Barnes' request.
Barnes filed the lawsuit on March 24, 2025, after an alleged social-media incident the previous December. The complaint alleges that ****** yy Red, whose legal name is Janae Wherry, posted Barnes' Hazelwood, Missouri, address and a photograph of her home on Facebook before encouraging her followers to "kick in the door" and harm her.

Josh Hokit has a serious problem with Alex Pereira campaigning for a Ciryl Gane rematch.
Pereira (13-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC) was finished by Gane in their interim heavyweight ***** le fight at UFC Freedom 250 in June. Gane dropped Pereira with a jab then swarmed him for the second-round TKO. Pop star Pink is under fire online for resharing an anti-Israel message and then following it up with a series of Instagram posts directed at her detractors.
Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, supported British musician Ed Sheeran on stage at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in a show called Loop Tour on September 4 and 5. Donning a keffiyeh in front of an 80,000-strong audience, the rapper shouted "Free Palestine" and addressed Gaza and the occupied West Bank, saying that they are not being forgotten.
"Every human being walking on this earth deserves exactly the same freedom," he added, as reported by Variety.
The rapper then performed his protest song "Hind's Hall," which featured flashes of Gaza on the stadium screens. Macklemore referenced Hind Rajab, a young Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, named after student demonstrators at Columbia University who renamed a campus building in her honor. The rapper then addressed Jewish concertgoers, saying that criticizing Israel and condemning their actions as genocide is not a condemnation of Jewish people and that his message is a message of peace and dignity for everyone.
American pop diva, whose legal name is Alecia Beth Moore Hart, posted a video with the message "Awful" to her Instagram Story, claiming that Jewish fans who came to see Sheeran's performance are exposed to propaganda against Israel. According to Pink, Macklemore's speech and video presentation amount to a false accusation of genocide, and people who came to the concert are entitled to "apologies and refunds."

The Oklahoma Sooners have won 50 conference championships; however, the Sooners haven't won a conference **** le since 2020. That includes not winning the SEC, or even playing for an SEC **** le in the two years they've been in the league.
Oklahoma hopes to change that this season. It started with a strong 51-0 opening-game statement against the University of Texas at El Paso Miners. The Sooners still have the Michigan Wolverines and New Mexico Lobos before entering conference play. They start that journey by facing the back-to-back conference champion on the road, the Georgia Bulldogs. They then take on the Texas Longhorns in Dallas, who have dominated Oklahoma in three of the last four seasons.
After Oklahoma's strong showing against the Miners, its SEC championship odds have moved up. According to ESPN's Football Power Index, the Sooners have a 5% chance to win the conference **** le.
Oklahoma's 5% SEC championship probability may not seem high, but it ranks No. 6 in the SEC, and the most important part of the season is still ahead. Oklahoma comes in behind Texas, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, and Texas A&M.

It's been an entire generation since Rashad Evans put Chuck Liddell's lights out in a way he never had experienced before, and never quite that bad ever again.
In the UFC 88 main event in Atlanta 18 years ago, Evans positively starched Liddell with a right hand that had the ex-champ unconscious for several minutes on the canvas. It was the first of three straight knockout losses that led to Liddell's eventual retirement.
Going into the fight, Liddell still had some aura left around him. "The Iceman" reigned over the UFC's light heavyweight division for several years until he lost his **** le to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in 2007. Sept 5 (Reuters) - A federal appeals court panel rejected the Trump administration's bid to lift a ban on ‌using a federal immigration database to check the accuracy ‌of citizenship records on states' voter rolls.
In a 2-1 ruling on Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia declined to lift a lower court's ban on using the Homeland Security Department's Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements database. The earlier ruling ‌determined that the government ⁠cannot use the system ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, in which Trump's Republicans ⁠will be defending narrow majorities in both chambers of Congress.
Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan and U.S. Circuit Judge Robert Wilkins, both appointed to the appeals court by President Barack Obama, upheld the lower ‌court decision that the SAVE system violates the Social Security Act as it shares millions of Americans' private information. The appeals court judges also noted concerns around the potential for inaccurate citizen information that could lead to people having to prove ‌citizenship to remain registered voters, and in some cases could even lead to voter registration being canceled.
U.S. Circuit Judge Gregory Katsas, an appointee ‌of President Donald Trump, dissented.

Paddy Donovan insists he is not "underestimating" Tyrone McKenna before they meet at Croke Park on Saturday with a second crack at world honours on the horizon.

After an acclaimed All Out pay-per-view, AEW Dynamite returned on Wednesday, Sept. 2 with the fallout from the show in Allen, Texas. From Will Ospreay winning the AEW World Championship to Austin Creed and Kofi making their AEW debuts, it was a night to remember, and that's not even including the other ****** le changes that took place.
While this episode of Dynamite featured plenty of fallout, it also marked the beginning of the build toward the next pay-per-view, with two ****** le matches being made official for the Sept. 26 card. What would be added to the show?

Justin Roberts introduces the new AEW World Champion, Will Ospreay, who comes to the ring. Ospreay says he's "been on a bender" since Sunday celebrating his win. He says All In was amazing, thanks everyone who has been with him on his journey from the beginning and thanks everyone else for their support.

Ospreay says Kenny Omega has been the best wrestler in the world for the last 10 years and still is. Ospreay says Omega is better than him 364 days of the year, except for that one day. Ospreay says they're now tied at 2-2 as the crowd chants for one more match. He says he's satisfied with that record, but if Omega isn't, he can name a time and place to settle the score.

Ospreay starts naming past AEW World Champions, some of whom he says were his heroes. He says the reality is that he's now among all of them, and all of his idols are his rivals.

Ospreay questions his confidence but realizes he's now the standard in AEW.

Ospreay shouts out the United Empire and thanks them for helping him succeed. He says while there's a United Empire in ****** an, he's going to bring the United Empire to AEW.

As Ospreay readies to leave, Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun interrupt. Ricochet says Ospreay knows they have unfinished business and that they're forever intertwined. He also congratulates Ospreay and Omega on their match.

Ricochet understands the fans don't give him credit, but says Ospreay knows him better than they do. Ricochet says Ospreay would not have been in the All In main event without him, and he demands the first shot at the ****** le.

Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors interrupt, and Kidd says Ospreay took away his chances to become the first British IWGP Heavyweight Champion and AEW World Champion. Ricochet and Kidd trade words until they align and head to the ring to target Ospreay, but United Empire runs down to make the save. Ospreay says they can meet in the main event in a tag team match.

It's no secret the Internet is obsessed with Zosia Mamet, but the actress is ready to share her own obsessions in her new Lemonada Media podcast, "OMG Obsessed."
The podcast network unveiled its fall slate exclusively to TheWrap on Wednesday, teasing the "Girls" actress' upcoming conversations with guests as they "unpack the passions, fixations and rabbit holes they can't stop thinking about" ahead of a Sept. 16 premiere.
"I'm an extremely curious (and admittedly obsessive) person, so this show feels like a dream," Mamet said in a statement. "Everyone has that one thing they could talk about forever, and I've always found those conversations to be the most fun. They're revealing, they're weird and they're usually way more interesting than small talk. I hope people laugh, discover something unexpected and maybe leave with a few new obsessions of their own."
"The content landscape is so saturated these days, but at Lemonada we still believe that if you make great shows with extraordinary talent, audiences will find them," Lemonada Media CEO Stephanie Wittels Wachs echoed. One of the most significant moves for Real Madrid on the deadline day of the summer transfer window, surprisingly, had nothing to do with a direct departure or arrival from the club.
Instead, it was the sale of Chema Andres who moved from Stuttgart to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League for a big fee, part of which Real Madrid were entitled to as they held 50% of the player's rights.
The youngster, thus, became part of a historic transfer window for Real Madrid where the club made over €200 million from youth player sales, windfalls and other similar operations.
As reported by Diario AS, Chema's move from Serie A to the Premier League closed for a sum of €23 million last night, making it a costly operation for Brighton.
Owing 50% of his rights, Real Madrid pocketed €11.5 million straight from the transfer and will be pleased with that development. There is, however, a twist.

Former UFC light heavyweight ****** le contender Anthony Smith has had his next MMA fight announced despite his recent legal troubles.
Smith was arrested on July 27 in his native Nebraska on three felony charges of first-degree domestic ****** ault, terroristic threats, and first-degree false imprisonment. He has since pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released after posting a $500,000 bond.
Gamebred FC has announced that Smith will return to the cage against Jordan Heiderman on October 2.
"Gamebred Fighting Championship Official Statement: As we announce Anthony Smith's return to the Gamebred FC cage, I want to speak directly about where our organization stands. Anthony is facing serious allegations, and like every person in this country, he is entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence while his case moves through the courts. He has pleaded not guilty, and that process deserves to play out fully and fairly, on its own timeline, without a promotion, a headline, or public opinion getting ahead of the facts. Anthony also has a family to provide for, and competing is how he does that. Taking away his ability to earn a living before he has had his day in court is not something Gamebred FC is willing to do to him or to the people who depend on him," Gamebred FC's statement read, per Uncrowned.
Despite his legal issues, Smith's MMA career continues for Gamebred FC after he defeated Chase Sherman in the promotion earlier this year as part of its heavyweight tournament.
