The Jacksonville Jaguars are giving fans another reason to get excited about the 2026 season.
Alongside a transformation that includes a new stadium in the works, the Jaguars are adding a fresh look to their on-field identity. The team officially unveiled its new "Bold City" alternate uniform on Aug. 25 as part of the Nike x NFL Rivalries program.
The new uniforms will make their game-day debut Nov. 1, 2026, when Jacksonville hosts AFC South rival the Indianapolis Colts.

Nike and the NFL revealed the 2026 Rivalries uniforms for teams in the AFC South and NFC North, including a new design for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars will wear the new uniform on Nov. 1 during a home game against divisional rival the Indianapolis Colts.
The Rivalries program launched in 2025 as a collaboration between Nike, the NFL and participating clubs to create uniform designs influenced by local team communities. The 2026 release expands the initiative into its second year with eight new team uniforms.
The Jaguars uniform combination features a white jersey, black pants and white socks with prominent teal, gold and black accents. A teal-glossed helmet displays a gold face mask and a "904" mark representing Jacksonville's area code. The outer collar features a "Since "95" inscription honoring the franchise's inaugural season and cursive script spelling out "Jaguars" references the team's Southern roots.
The black pants feature a teal stripe with gold trim over a subtle jaguar print pattern, with the names of Jacksonville neighborhoods hidden inside the spots on the pants. Following the game against Indianapolis, the Rivalries uniform will remain in the team's uniform rotation for three years alongside existing alternate uniforms.
Fanatics will begin selling coinciding fan merchandise in stores and online on Sept. 1, including jerseys, helmets, shirts, jackets, footwear and hats. The Miller Electric Center Pro Shop will operate with special hours on Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., while maintaining standard hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and opening 3 hours before kickoff on home game days.NFL executives highlighted the rollout of the new division designs across both conferences. Taryn Hutt, vice president of club marketing for the NFL, commented on the expansion of the program.

New England will bring back its "Nor'easter" Rivalries uniform for its Week 13 home matchup against the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium.
ESPN's Mike Reiss first shared the uniform decision Tuesday, citing information from the Patriots Pro Shop. The NFL later included New England's Dec. 6 meeting with Buffalo in its complete Nike x NFL Rivalries schedule.
The Patriots debuted the storm-inspired alternate against the New York Jets last season. Its next appearance will come against a Buffalo team that has become New England's most meaningful divisional rival.

The Green Bay Packers have a new alternate uniform. On Tuesday, the Packers -- along with seven other NFL teams from the NFC North and AFC South -- unveiled their "Rivalries" uniforms for the 2026 season. The Packers will be wearing their new look on Sunday, Oct. 11 against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.
The uniforms, which are inspired by the team's history and the uniqueness of the franchise's stock certificates, feature off-white helmets and pants and a vintage green uniform with a new number and lettering font, plus a Lombardi-era alternate logo on the chest.

Aug. 20—BRIDGEWATER, S.D. — After more than a decade competing with 11 players on the field, the Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan Seahawks are returning to familiar territory in 2026.
BEE is moving back to the nine-man ranks at the Class 9AA level, bringing with it a proud history in the smaller classification and a renewed sense of excitement surrounding the program.
The Seahawks made the jump from Class 9AA to Class 11B in 2015. The move proved to be a successful one, as Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan reached five consecutive state championship games and captured the 11B state ******* le in 2019. But after finishing 2-6 a season ago, the Seahawks are making another transition, back to where the program's success first started.
"We're just excited about the speed of the game, obviously, and you can score a few more points when you have two less players on the field," BEE head coach Jeff VanLeur said. "We are also excited to have those rivalries again in the Cornbelt Conference with those other close nine-man programs, because it is a great conference to compete in with a lot of great, local teams in it."
For longtime coach Jeff VanLeur, the move represents a return to the level where he has spent much of his career. VanLeur has coached 35 years at the nine-man level, all within the Seahawk program and its various cooperatives.

The UConn women's basketball team, winner of 12 national championships, will renew a slew of rivalries during the non-conference portion of their 2026-27 schedule.
The slate, which was announced Monday, Aug. 17, includes matchups with South Carolina, Tennessee and Notre Dame.
UConn will face Dawn Staley's Gamecocks on Nov. 24 at the Hall of Fame Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. This will be the first meeting between UConn and South Carolina since the 2026 Final Four where UConn coach Geno Auriemma got upset near the end of the loss that ended the Huskies' perfect season, yelling at Staley before leaving the court.
The Huskies will visit the Fighting Irish at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Indiana, on Dec. 9, marking the 58th meeting between the two sides. UConn beat Notre Dame twice last season, once in Storrs, Connecticut, and again in the Elite Eight in Fort Worth, Texas. UConn leads the all-time series 41-16 and the teams are 5-5 over their last 10 meetings.
Tennessee and UConn will square off on Dec. 12 at a still to-be-announced location. The Huskies have won five of the last six meetings with the Lady Vols, with Tennessee's victory coming on Feb. 6, 2025 in Knoxville during Kim Caldwell's first season as head coach.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers are expected to create one of the WNBA's signature rivalries over the next decade. The two stars have also helped shape their organizations into championship contender.
With their next matchup on the horizon, many Clark fans are annoyed at what they believe is a clear marketing slight by the league, with a prominent sports media member calling out the league.
League TV partner Ion will broadcast the upcoming Fever vs Wings game, and released a promotional graphic that angered Travis for not including Clark. Short is having an exceptional summer and is looking to continue his hot streak at Pan Pacs.
Short's race plan typically the opposite of Finke's. He likes to go out fast and make the competition hurt early, while Finke has built his career on an impressive back-half. If Short can build enough of a cushion before Finke's motor kicks in, the race could over at the halfway mark. If not, expect Finke to close well, flexing his iconic closing speed down the stretch.
Betting against Ledecky in the 800 free is historically a bad idea. She owns the world record and has rarely been challenged in the final 200 meters of this race as she's spent a decade making it look routine.

Fantastic news all around on this fine Tuesday, as the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos will surely make everyone's day with their uniform announcement. Both the Seahawks and Broncos are set to square off against one another to kick off Week 6 on Thursday Night Football this year. It is a clash between former AFC West rivals, so what better way to celebrate than for both to don their old threads.
That's right folks, Throwback Thursday is BACK in a big way, as the Seahawks and Broncos will each be rocking their classic uniforms.
Seattle announced three alternate uniform games for 2026 earlier this summer. They'll wear the throwbacks twice under the lights of prime time (Sunday Night Football vs the Chiefs, and Monday Night Football vs the Cowboys) and one game with their Nike Rivalries (Christmas Day vs the Rams). the NFL allows teams up to four games to wear alternate uniforms, and I was wondering what the Seahawks were planning to do with their final option.
Now we know, and I couldn't be more pleased. Especially since the Broncos will be participating as well.
Sadly, this does appear to mean the Seahawks will be sidelining their Action Green alternates for one more season. I know they are controversial among the 12th Man, but I personally love them. Alas, we wait for 2027 at the earliest to see if they return!

Pat McAfee is a bigger name today as a sports show host than he was as a player. But for veteran Michael Wilbon, the flamboyant sportscaster's appeal couldn't move the needle. Wilbon does not see McAfee as one of the network's biggest faces.
"Two of them must be [Mike Greenberg] and Stephen A. [Smith], right? And Scott Van Pelt," Wilbon told Awful Announcing when asked about his top choices for ESPN's 'face.' "I'd say that those are the leading candidates for the face [of ESPN]. There can't be one.
"I don't consume Pat McAfee, so I don't have a sense of it," he added when host Brandon Contes asked about McAfee. "… It's not in the world in which I am. And that's just a matter of time. You know, the other guys have been at ESPN a **** of a lot longer than McAfee."
Wilbon also mentioned that it really depends on the circumstances; Adam Schefter could also be looked at as a face on transactional coverage grounds. Baseball would mean Buster Olney and Jeff Passan.

The Chicago Bears have picked up plenty of steam and momentum after the first season of Ben Johnson as head coach last year, and a lot of that attention is fixated on their rivalry with the Green Bay Packers.
Not only is the NFL's longest-standing rivalry building on the field, but Johnson and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur are also building their own rivalry, particularly after Chicago eliminated Green Bay from the wild-card playoffs back in January.
Bears quarterback Caleb Williams recently appeared on the "Up and Adams" with Kay Adams and was asked about who is leading the charge in momentum in the storied rivalry between both franchises.
"Typically, I like to be in the driver's seat, that's how I feel about things just mindset wise," Williams said. "I go into every game with the mindset that I already won, that helps get to the end and confirm it. It's just something I do, the driver's seat thing is something I do and that's something I like to bring to the team, bringing that mindset into big games, bringing that mindset when people overlook the opponent, and bringing that mindset into the big rivalries."
While Williams didn't throw gasoline on the fire burning between both sides, his confidence going into every game and rivalry should continue to keep the vibes high against Green Bay, where the Bears have taken two out of the last three.

Few television shows have shaped how Americans see a sport the way "Ted Lasso" did for soccer. The relentlessly optimistic former D2 football coach (football, not soccer) from Kansas City, hired to sabotage an English club by its owner's socialite ex-wife, somehow turned football (soccer) into a cultural phenomenon during the pandemic, introducing millions of viewers who had never watched a soccer game to rivalries, fandom and rituals.
It made them BELIEVE futbol is life.
When the series ended two years ago with AFC Richmond earning promotion to the Premier League, it felt like a fitting conclusion, not only for Ted but also for the audience. Three seasons had delivered a reminder of why people fall in love with the beautiful game.
Now the series returns with an even more ambitious challenge. Rather than taking audiences back to men's football, it turns its attention to the women's game. But unlike in 2020, when it helped introduce millions to soccer, the women's game no longer needs a television show to explain why it matters. The question is whether the series can capture women's soccer's evolution.
2020 was a strange year. As I was sending cancellation notes for my own wedding during the pandemic, I found myself becoming increasingly invested in Ted (played by Jason Sudeikis), Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and AFC Richmond. By the final episode, I had become a pseudo-supporter of the imaginary club, embracing their underdog story. As a sports journalist, that's a rare feeling. I spend my career covering real clubs, not fictional ones. Yet "Ted Lasso" managed to make soccer feel personal again. If it could do that to someone who already covered the sport, it's easy to understand why millions of newcomers found themselves watching the Premier League after the credits rolled three years later.

Vigo County college soccer rivalries enter new turf, literally, this season.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods women's team makes its McMahon Field debut at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, against Rose-Hulman at 5 p.m. The match will be the first of six regular-season home contests at the Pomeroys' new home facility, which was dedicated on July 16.
On Wednesday, SMWC announced its 2026 schedule, which also includes an exhibition match against another cross-county opponent — NCAA Division I Indiana State on Aug. 19 at ISU's Memorial Stadium.
The Woods' schedule includes 18 regular-season contests and eight River States Conference matches. Head coach Ronald Kiernicki enters his fifth season at the helm of the Pomeroys.
As for the women's postseason, the opening round of the River States Conference Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 4. Teams finishing third through sixth in the conference standings will compete in the opening round, with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds serving as hosts. Tournament semifinals are scheduled for Nov. 7 at the sites of the top two seeds, followed by the championship match Nov. 11 at the home of the highest remaining seed.

With an aging Derrick Henry possibly forcing Baltimore to become a more pass-heavy team, Flowers can easily propel himself into a double-digit touchdown season.
On Aug. 4, Flowers agreed to a four-year, $140 million contract extension. It takes a lot of confidence for Baltimore to commit that kind of money, clearly solidifying Flowers as their primary receiver.
While he may not win a fantasy league, he is easily a top WR1 contender.

Starting on the first Saturday in May with the Kentucky Derby and culminating in September with a return to Churchill Downs, the idea is to promote a familiarity with fans as the top three-year-old horses are encouraged to compete and develop those rivalries that can add to the lore of the sport of kings. A prize of $5 million in bonus cash will be awarded to the runner that accumulates the most points throughout the series.

The world's most famous race, and perhaps race track, will bat leadoff in this newly proposed racing series on May 1, 2027. The Kentucky Derby has been contested every year since 1875 on that dirt oval in Louisville, Kentucky known as Churchill Downs. Restricted to three-year-olds only, the consistency of this event and the ever-building notoriety surrounding it has made it the focal point for fans of all shapes and sizes. In an effort to continue to cultivate the massive interest generated by the Derby, the Belmont Stakes at the newly renovated Belmont Park will be the next race in the series on June 5. The Matt Winn Stakes at Churchill Downs will follow in early July and then the series will shift to historic Saratoga for the Jim Dandy Stakes (late July, early August) and Travers Stakes (late August). A final Championship race will be run in September back beneath the Twin Spires of Churchill Downs.
The dates for both the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes are set and the other dates are to be finalized. ****** ing of races will be important as encouragement for participation in the six-race series in a five-month span. Of course, another encouraging factor is a proposed $5 million prize pool that will be awarded based on points accrued during the series. Each individual race will still carry its own purse as well.

One of the greatest rivalries in college football won't happen this year, exactly one century after USC and Notre Dame first played.
They'll pick it up again in 2030.
Via Ryan Kartje of the L.A. Times, the Trojans and the Irish have agreed on a four-year home-and-home arrangement beginning in four years.
The series fell apart because USC wanted to move it earlier in the year. Notre Dame resisted. In the end, the first two games in 2030 and 2031 will be played in Week 1, with the 2030 contest at the L.A. Coliseum and the 2031 showdown at South Bend. The 2032 and 2033 editions will land between Week 1 and Week 3.
After 2033, they'll have to agree to continue. Hopefully, they will. Too many great rivalries have been lost in recent decades, as conferences have constantly expanded and shifted and created all sorts of odd matchups that defy the traditions that make college football great.

Detroit is slated to receive new alternate uniforms this fall as part of the Nike Rivalries collection. Nike's "Rivalries" program's second season, the NFL has announced when the Lions will reveal their newest set.
According to Andrew Lind of SportsLogos.net, multiple sources indicate that fans will get their first glimpse of the Lions' new alternate uniforms on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The NFL is set to unveil the new Nike Rivalries uniforms for the eight teams in the AFC South and NFC North that day.
AFC East and NFC West teams received Nike Rivalries alternates during the 2025 NFL season.
The Rivalries uniforms are meant to "celebrate the traditions, communities and competitive spirit surrounding some of the league's most iconic matchups," and mirror the creative designs done through MLB's City Connect and the NBA's City Edition programs.
An important note regarding the Nike Rivalries uniforms is that each team is only allowed to wear their new set once per season, and it must come at home against a division opponent.

With our delay in recording this week you're getting multiple episodes in back to back days. We should be back to a normal schedule when we record again this Sunday. We are continuing our look at the Purdue football schedule and this week we look into one of the oldest Big Ten rivalries in existence. That's right folks, today we are talking about Big Ten stalwart and Purdue's long-time rival the UCLA Bruins. Still feels weird to say that.
So, we take a look back at the 2025 season for the UCLA Bruins. Here's a reminder, they were bad. They had a bit of a streak in the middle of the season where they won some games but then they went downhill once again. I do believe that there's a high likelihood Purdue could've beaten them last season if they played. Purdue wasn't good but they competed (at times) in some tough games. However, they didn't play so we will never know.
