KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Defending champion and world No. 4-ranked Miyu Yamashita shot a 6-under 66 Friday to take a two-stroke lead after two rounds of the LPGA Tour's Maybank Classic.
The 2025 Women's British Open winner had a two-round total of 13-under 131 on the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club course. She won last year's Malaysian tournament after a three-way playoff.
Julia Lopez Ramirez birdied three of her final four holes for a 66 and was tied for second with Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, who led by a stroke after the first round.
"Try to keep your mind cool and your body hydrated in these conditions," Lopez Ramirez said of her preparations for the weekend in the usual high humidity in Kuala Lumpur.
A Lim Kim had the round of the day, a 64, and was in fourth place, three strokes behind Yamashita.

Ford has now announced the cars, the colors, the concert, the cable channel and the charity fund for its Veterans Day Classic at Daytona. What it hasn't announced, at least in the material it has published so far, is how long the race runs or how a winner gets picked. That gap is the story, and it's why the lineup tells you more than the poster does.
The event is set for Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Daytona International Speedway, three days after the Cup Series finale at Homestead (here's how that November calendar stacks up). Ford is running it in collaboration with NASCAR, Blue Star Families, IMSA and HSR, according to Ford's own announcement. Twelve Ford Racing drivers will split into six teams, one for each branch of the U.S. military, all in Mustang Dark Horse R race cars.
Think about what that means. In a normal NASCAR weekend, Ford's pitch to its fans is simple: beat Chevrolet and Toyota. Here there is **** ody to beat. Every driver, every car and every logo on the grid is Ford, so the manufacturer has to build the stakes from scratch. Its answer is the military branch as team identity, and Ford says the teams are racing for bragging rights.
That is a smart device and a fragile one. A one-make race can't borrow rivalry from the paddock. It has to earn it in two hours of television, which is why the details Ford hasn't filled in matter more than usual.
Ford's lineup pairs the drivers like this: Army gets Joey Hand and Brad Keselowski, the Marine Corps gets Ryan Blaney and Ben Hobson, the Navy gets Logan Sargeant and Ryan Preece, the Air Force gets Frankie Muniz and Austin Cindric, the **** e Force gets Noah Gragson and Layne Riggs, and the Coast Guard gets Joey Logano and Ty Majeski.

Three months after revealing plans that it would seek a jersey patch sponsorship, Wright State University announced a deal with Premier Health on Thursday, Oct. 29.
"Premier Health has stood alongside Wright State Athletics for years and this partnership is a profound statement of what that relationship means," said Wright State Athletics Director Brad Chandler in a press release. "All 14 Division I programs will now carry Premier Health on its uniform, connecting our student-athletes with the academic health system that cares for the families in our stands and across our community. We worked hard to bring the first jersey patch sponsorship in the Dayton region to life, and we're proud that it's with a partner that has always shown up for Wright State. This is about more than visibility. It's two Dayton institutions putting their names side by side and investing in the next generation."
The NCAA approved the use of jersey patches in January.
According to an NCAA press release, "Effective Aug. 1, all Division I teams will be permitted up to two additional commercial logos on their uniforms and apparel and one additional commercial logo on equipment during the preseason and regular season, with an additional commercial logo on uniforms and apparel for conference championships. The patches will be limited to a maximum of 4 square inches per logo."
The patches will debut on Monday, Nov. 2, when the Wright State men's basketball team plays Air Force in the Stars, Stripes and Flight Classic at the Nutter Center.

Forever Young, who last year made history as the first ***** anese horse to win the Breeders' Cup Classic, vies for a rare repeat in the showpiece of the $34 million racing extravaganza at Keeneland on Saturday.
Trainer Yoshito Yahagi sounded a confident note after the well-traveled five-year-old enjoyed a "perfect gallop" on the Lexington, Kentucky, track on Wednesday in his final tuneup for the 1 1/4-mile, $7 million race.
"The horse is moving beautifully," Yahagi said. "I'm very satisfied. There is no concern about the horse's condition. He is very fresh."
Forever Young was installed as the 2-1 early favorite after drawing the fifth post, and Yahagi acknowledged that the challenge facing the two-time Saudi Cup-winner and jockey Ryusei Sakai is somewhat different this year as they try to follow Tiznow in 2000 and 2001 as the only repeat Classic winners.
"I think the quality of the rivals is the same as last year, but our position this year is quite different from last year," Yahagi said. "Last year, we have to take on the challenge to win the Breeders' Cup Classic. But this year, I think we are in the position that everybody is targeting us, so it's not quite easy to defend the ***** le."

Millennials grew up watching the Olsen twins on Full House and in other family-friendly movies. It Takes Two, Passport to Paris, the list goes on.
Then came their business endeavors after stepping away from showbiz, and this year marks two full decades since Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen launched a clothing line with one mission: design the perfect white T-shirt.

Melania Trump made a case for wardrobe repetition by bringing back her slit-front Maison Ullens skirt for her latest outing. The former model accompanied her husband, President Donald Trump, to cast their ballots during early voting at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections on October 24.
Melania Trump's outfit for the outing struck a delicate balance between approachable civic duty attire and high-end designer sophistication. She wore a high-waisted, camel-beige pencil skirt crafted by Belgian luxury fashion house Maison Ullens. She originally sported it during a trip to Brussels, Belgium, in May 2017.
The archival piece is made from soft leather tailored into geometric, paneled segments. Fine tonal contrast stitching outlined each panel, creating a grid-like structural detailing across the front and hip seams. The skirt featured a mid-length hem falling just below the knees. Moreover, a clean vertical slit at the center-front, offered ease of movement while adding a subtle modern edge to the traditional pencil silhouette.
The First Lady paired the skirt with a relaxed light-blue ****** on-down shirt. She wore the cotton poplin shirt with an unbuttoned, wide-spread collar and rolled-up three-quarter sleeves. It gave her upper half an effortless feel. The light blue hue provided a flattering contrast against the warm beige tone of the skirt. Tucking the shirt into her skirt's waistband highlighted her natural waist.
Trump completed her look with classic Christian Louboutin Patent Pigalle 120 Pumps in Nude. The glossy patent leather shoes featured the brand's signature red soles, pointed toes and a 120 mm stiletto heel. They not only elongated her frame but also paired well with the skirt.

Charlize Theron leaned into the age-old color-blocking trend for her latest public appearance in a Givenchy outfit. "The Odyssey" star accepted the Award of Inspiration at the amfAR Dallas 2026 on October 24. She looked stunning as ever in the outfit that blended deconstructed athletic wear and avant-garde tailoring.
For the amfAR Dallas 2026, Charlize Theron pulled an outfit straight from the runway. She was wearing a red-and-black color-blocked look from Givenchy's Spring 2027 Ready-to-Wear collection. It featured a fitted, finely ribbed black tank top with a classic scoop neckline. The top had double-strap detailing along the shoulders, creating subtle cutouts. Further, vivid red contrast binding along the neck and armholes framed her upper torso with crisp, geometric energy.
The lower half of the look transitioned into wide-leg trousers featuring a unique architectural drape. A wrapped, jacket-like layer folded downward over the hips. This inverted upper structure featured structured lapels trimmed in matching crimson piping, creating a layered trompe-l'œil effect. The voluminous folds added an intentional sense of asymmetry and rich textural depth to the otherwise minimalist black base.
A black leather belt with an oversized, round metallic disc buckle brought a hardware element that drew the eye straight to her waist. Further, Theron's beauty styling kept the spotlight firmly on the outfit's strong lines and interesting palette. She wore her blonde hair in an edgy, wet-look short crop. Soft, side-swept tendrils casually framed one side of her face while the rest was slicked back cleanly.
The Academy Award winner's makeup was minimal but striking, featuring a matte complexion, defined eyes, light pink blush on her cheeks, and a neutral, rosy-nude lip. She wore a stack of silver earrings that framed her face without distracting from her outfit. Black leather open-toe mules peeked from underneath her trousers, maintaining the dark color palette.

The World Series matchup isn't set in stone just yet, but Tampa Bay took a major step towards being the one that will face Milwaukee in the Fall Classic. They took two out of three in Cleveland to return home with a 3-2 series lead heading into a big Game 6 tonight, where they'll start Freddy Peralta who has been dealing this postseason while the Guardians will scramble to piece their way through a bullpen game after having to get 21 outs from their relievers yesterday. Thanks to the postponed Game 4 eating up the travel day, even if they do win tonight they'll also be forced to play the potential do-or-die Game 7 on four straight days without a night off — it's not looking pretty for Cleveland, to say the least.
We've got a full slate for you ahead of this critical Game 6 later tonight, starting with Jake's recap of Game 5's action in the Roundup. Michael hands out a stellar grade to David Bednar to kick off our annual Report Card series, and Kevin recalls Sandy Alomar Sr. and his days with the Yankees on his birthday. Then in the afternoon Jonathan goes over the Yankees' longest home runs of the season and Estevao reflects on the gap between Giancarlo Stanton and 500 career home runs before I return to open up the mailbag for more of your questions.

The 2026 World Series could be set Monday night, with the Rays on the brink of advancing as they host Game 6 against the Guardians.
Tampa Bay's 3-1 win Sunday put Cleveland on the brink, needing a pair of wins at Tropicana Field to return to the Fall Classic for the first time since 2016. The Rays are trying to reach the World Series for the third time, but their most recent trip came in the COVID-shortened 2020 season when all the games were played in Arlington, Texas, so their fans mostly missed out that time.
The Rays got a brilliant pitching performance from Drew Rasmussen in Game 5 and will look for more of the same Monday with veteran Freddy Peralta on the mound. The trade-deadline acquisition started Game 2 of this series and was dominant, holding the Guardians to four hits in six scoreless innings of a 3-1 Tampa Bay win. He also pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief Saturday in Game 4.
Cleveland's pitching situation is unclear but it will be all hands on deck for Stephen Vogt as the Guardians hope their offense can get going the way it did to turn around the Division Series against the White Sox. Can they stay alive, or will the top-seeded Rays move on?

Rays on the verge of ensuring ultra-rare World Series phenomenon appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Tampa Bay Rays are being pushed to their limit by the Cleveland Guardians. Nonetheless, over the past two days, the Rays have shown why they were the best team in the AL this past season. After falling down 2-1 in the ALCS, the Rays have bounced back with two consecutive victories on the road — with Tampa Bay having taken a 3-2 lead in the series courtesy of a 3-1 win on Sunday.
With that victory, the Rays are now knocking on the door of the World Series, where the Milwaukee Brewers await. It seems like the postponement of Friday night's contest due to inclement weather helped them immensely, as Game 6 (as well as Game 7, if necessary) will be at Tropicana Field — giving Tampa Bay a golden opportunity to secure their third appearance in the Fall Classic.
Moreover, if the Rays were to win another game against the Guardians in the ALCS, they would ensure a rare World Series phenomenon with the Milwaukee Brewers already waiting on the other side of the bracket. As per Rays insider Steve Carney, if Tampa Bay were to advance to the next round, this would be the first World Series matchup in 46 years between two teams that have never won a ******* le.

Penélope Cruz continued her La Bola Negra press tour at the 2026 BFI London Film Festival, held at the Royal Festival Hall this evening.
Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/WireImage
The Chanel ambassador has been having plenty of fun experimenting with different styles and labels throughout this press tour. We saw it at TIFF and San Sebastián, and now London has given us another welcome change of direction.
This time, Penélope dipped into the archives for a Ralph Lauren Collection Spring 2014 suit.
The tailoring is impeccable, but it's the pattern play that really sells this look to me. The contrasting checks of the shirt and tie, alongside the dominate cuffs, add plenty of charm and personality to the classic black suit without making the combination feel too busy.

Kids today might know Matthew Modine best for his role as Dr Brenner in Stranger Things but the star got his start back in the '80s with hits like Full Metal Jacket (1987). The actor has appeared in not one but two Christopher Nolan classics, The Dark Knight Rises and Oppenheimer, so we'd recommend digging back into his filmography.
Before you swap over to your TV screen, catch up on what the actor has been doing since he worked with Nicolas Cage and the successful lives of his wife and two kids below.

Matthew's long-term wife Caridad Rivera was born in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and is of Puerto Rican descent. She works as a makeup and wardrobe artist. Caridad and husband Matthew are still going strong four decades in.
The actor told Closer Weekly: "I'd been in a few relationships and wanted someone to be friends with. What's most important is to have a partner you share interests with, who challenges you, who is smarter than you." He added: "Then the physical side is a bonus. I hit the jackpot and got both!

STOCKHOLM, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Canadian poet and writer Anne Carson won the 2026 **** el Prize in Literature "for her bold and inventive oeuvre that, in playful dialogue with the classical tradition, has created new forms for contemporary literature", the Swedish Academy said on Thursday.
"She was very taken by surprise," said Ingrid ‌Carlberg, permanent secretary of the academy, which awards the prize worth 12 million Swedish crowns ($1.2 million).
"We didn't have so much time to speak, and all she had time to tell ‌me was that she is for the moment in Iceland, where she's listening to the wind."
Carson's work often blends verse, prose, dialogue and translation in a genre-defying mix. Born in Toronto, the 76-year-old has also held Icelandic citizenship since 2022 and has spent considerable time on the Arctic island in recent years.

Caitríona Balfe joined her co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones for the Sense and Sensibility LA premiere, held at The United Theater on Wednesday.
Earl Gibson III/Deadline via Getty Images
The Irish actress wore a custom Prada pearl-grey silk-wool column dress with an embroidered carré extending into a geometric train in black cotton organza, a detail drawn from the Fall 2026 collection.
The column silhouette and fabric are classic Prada, but it's the embroidered carré cascading into that black train that introduces a romantic element, making this an appropriate choice for a Jane Austen adaptation. I particularly love the contrast between the grey dress and the sheer black overlay.
We could be nitpicky and say the dress needed to be half an inch shorter to avoid that slight break at the hem. We could also question the visible darts, although they're a familiar Prada detail. But despite those minor issues, Caitríona is selling this look to me.

The "American Dream" costs about $5.3 million over a lifetime, up 4.1% from last year's updated total and faster than wages grew.
The costs of owning a house, paying for new cars and retirement expenses make up nearly 70% of the overall total.
Healthcare and car ownership prices were little changed from last year, but up substantially from five years ago.
The cost of the American Dream is rising faster than our paychecks can cover it.
That's according to an Investopedia ***** ysis of eight classic milestones: owning a home, buying new cars, raising two children and sending them to college, retiring, paying for healthcare, having a wedding, owning pets, and taking a yearly vacation. Michael Douglas, firmly in his smooth silver-fox era, has opened the door into secret compartments of his life. Douglas, 82, has just published an incredibly dishy, wildly entertaining, at times both hilarious and painful new memoir, One ****** uva Ride. It's a tale that spans generations of Hollywood royalty, from his father Kirk's rise to stardom to his own run of classic films as both producer and actor: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), The China Syndrome (1979), Romancing the Stone (1984), Wall Street (1987), Fatal Attraction (1987), Basic Instinct (1992), and Falling Down (1993), to name some of the biggest. Written with Shane Salerno, the book is one of those rare memoirs that both entertains and sheds light on a lost world of Hollywood of glamour and decadence, with lots of ****** and drugs and even some rock & roll.
To discuss all this, Douglas has invited me into his palatial apartment overlooking New York City's Central Park, one of several homes he owns and enjoys. He's a welcoming and gracious host, no servants or ****** istants bustling about. Just Douglas padding around in his socks, still as slim, handsome, and charming as ever. Douglas makes me a coffee, and we sit down in a living room with a view of his two Oscars, an Emmy, and other awards. Between Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, the trophy case is so large it fills up a corner of the massive living room.

The supermodel was recently photographed on a relaxed day out with her 13-year-old daughter, Vivian, and the two looked more alike than ever. Their easygoing style quickly caught the attention of fans online. From long, wavy hair to laid-back denim looks, the mother-daughter duo made a simple stroll look effortless. The sweet outing offered a rare glimpse into their everyday family life.
Gisele Bundchen and her daughter Vivian enjoyed a family day out in the city. According to an X post, Bundchen was joined by her husband, Joaquim Valente, and Vivian, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady. The group strolled down a leafy, sunlit street while fallen leaves dotted the sidewalk. Photos show mother and daughter chatting as they walked, with Vivian glancing toward her mom. The mood looked calm, cheerful, and completely unhurried.
Bundchen kept her look casual and comfortable. She wore a classic white tank top with loose, wide-leg jeans in a soft blue wash. A dark leather belt with a gold buckle added a polished touch. She completed the outfit with sunglasses, chunky sneakers, and a slouchy dark shoulder bag.
Vivian wore a cropped black tank top with relaxed, light-wash jeans. She draped a cream knit layer over her shoulders and carried her phone as she walked. Cozy tan slip-on shoes finished her outfit. Like her mom, she wore her long hair down in loose waves.
Known for making simple basics look effortless, Bundchen seems to have passed on the secret to Vivian. Both leaned into relaxed denim and a simple palette of white, black, and faded blue. Good jeans, a clean top, and comfortable shoes made for a stylish yet practical outfit for a walk around the city.

Meghan Markle's new promo photoshoot for As Ever has fans wondering whether the Kate Middleton connection is deliberate or not (via The Royal Observer).
For those unversed, the Suits star launched a collection of photos and videos to promote her latest Christmas products. Notably, it is called the Christmas Advent Calendar and features wholesome, handmade goodies from Los Angeles chocolatier Compartes.
It is available exclusively to U.S. residents. The calendar features 24 handmade chocolates inspired by Markle's Montecito home and personal life. However, sharp-eyed fans noticed a subtle connection to the future queen. Upon zooming in on the promotional photo, several fans accused the former actress of using AI. They spotted what appeared to be six fingers on her hand.
User TribesBritannia commented, "Meghan Markle using AI for **** Never. Six fingers is a classic example of AI. She can't even be bothered to take a simple photo, are the media and GettyImages going to go mad about this, like they did about a simple Mother's Day photo?"
