The New England Patriots have made a change to their offseason program schedule.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots moved their mandatory minicamp from June 15-17 to June 9-11, as head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed to media members on Tuesday.
The Patriots will hold their mandatory minicamp for veteran players, as stipulated in the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement. Physicals will be administered on June 8, before the team goes through on-field activities.
New England’s second practice of the minicamp will entail walkthroughs only. No live contact will be permitted throughout the three days of the mandatory camp.
The Patriots acquired superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on June 1, changing the complexion of their roster even further this spring. They will continue to get Brown and the team into shape once the mandatory minicamp takes place next week.

The Miami Dolphins made several changes to their defensive back room this offseason, including bringing in a few veterans in free agency to help replace those that left over the last few months.
Among the newcomers to South Florida is cornerback Marco Wilson, who signed with the Dolphins on a one-year, $1.32 million contract back in March.
In a recent appearance on NBC 6 South Florida, Wilson revealed that playing for the Dolphins has been a lifelong dream for him.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play for the Dolphins," Wilson said. "I grew up down here watching the Dolphins every Sunday, going to the games. I really was a true Dolphins fan growing up, getting upset when they lose games and stuff. That means something to me. I'll walk around now every day entering that building with the thought of I don't want to be the reason other young kids are maybe getting upset if the Dolphins are losing. It definitely means a lot."
Wilson, 27, played at Florida from 2017-20 before the Arizona Cardinals took him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft. After a stint with the Cardinals, he also had stops with the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals, and in 64 games thus far, he's recorded 179 tackles, 20 passes defensed, three interceptions and three forced fumbles.

In the classic film Field of Dreams, James Earl Jones, as Terence Mann, offers the line, “Baseball has marked the time.” I think it’s time for Mr. Mann to rethink his ******* ertion. In truth, the American sports calendar is marked by NFL football. To say the NFL has become a year-round passion is an understatement. The calendar starts with OTAs and the preseason. Then moves into the soap-opera saga that is the regular season. It continues through the playoffs, and culminates with the single biggest sporting event in the country each year: the Super Bowl.
It doesn’t stop there. Soon afterward comes the NFL Scouting Combine, free agency, and the NFL Draft. Thanks to this past Monday, we can now add one more date to that chronology: June 1.
This year, the date was all about two of the most significant trades in recent memory. Defensive end Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams and wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots.
So, when rumors become reality, where does the football viewer go for the latest information? The answer is ESPN’s NFL Live.
Marvelously hosted by Laura Rutledge, the June 1 edition of NFL Live became the top destination. Not only for news of the trades but also for deep ******* ysis of the deals.

2026 Patriots Offseason Looks Very Similar To 2007 Perfection Season originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New England Patriots made the second-biggest trade of the offseason on Monday afternoon by acquiring Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl champion wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Brown is the second receiver that offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has brought in this offseason.
The first pass catcher brought in by New England is former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs.
It feels like the first time in some years that the Patriots have taken a real swing at the wide receiver position. The only comparison I can draw is to a pair of notable offseason acquisitions made in 2007, months before the Patriots would become the first team to finish a season 16-0.

Should Patroits Sign Stefon Diggs, Go All-In On Next Season? originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New England Patriots made a major move to acquire A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.
The Patriots gave up a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. It is a major investment in a position they already invested in during free agency. The Patriots signed Romeo Doubs to a four-year, $68 million deal, worth up to $80 million, in free agency. Last season, the receiving corps did not have much going on behind Stefon Diggs.
Kayshon Boutte and Mack Hollins were solid players, but Brown and Doubs look to be an upgrade over what the Patriots had last season. Diggs was a 1,000-yard receiver last year, and he remains unsigned. Acquiring Brown is an all-in move, so should the Patriots also bring back Diggs to create an elite trio of wide receivers?
Well, the answer is more complicated than a simple yes or no. Right now, the Patriots' number three wide receiver is likely going to be Kayshon Boutte. However, there are rumors that he could be traded. He is in the final year of his deal and may want to play in an offense where he has a bigger role. He has been working out away from the team this offseason.

The Philadelphia Eagles' trade sending A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots was just one of two blockbuster deals on Monday, June 1. However, the trades involving Brown and former Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett, who is heading to the Los Angeles Rams, feature two players whose tenures end in very different fashions.
Specifically, Brown's relationship with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was a talking point throughout much of the past two NFL seasons, and the 28-year-old wide receiver addressed that topic during an honest conversation less than one day after the trade news broke.
Speaking with Maria Taylor on 7PM in Brooklyn, Brown was asked directly about Hurts and their relationship at the end of his tenure with the Eagles.
"Not as close as we once were," Brown said of his relationship with Hurts. "...There's no bad blood, there's actually still a lot of love. I love him to death, I want to see him accomplish all the things he want to accomplish. I didn't truly understand why our friendship became the center of everybody's attention when it came to football."
"People just got so fixated on the relationship and wanting to talk about the history... but that wasn't what this was. I have nothing but love for him...," Brown continued. "Nothing happened. People just grow apart, nothing happened between me and him, or our families, or our wives, anything. Life happens, you just look up sometimes and you find yourself drifting away."

NFL Insider Reveals Why Mike Vrabel Wanted A.J. Brown So Badly originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
After four years apart, Mike Vrabel and A.J. Brown are finally back together again.
Their reunion was made official on Monday when the New England Patriots traded for Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for two draft picks.
The trade reunites Vrabel with Brown, who played his first three NFL seasons for Vrabel with the Tennessee **** ans from 2019 to 2021 before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.
However, NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed on Tuesday's episode of "Get Up" that Vrabel didn't approve of the **** ans trading Brown.

Wide receiver A.J. Brown's final season with the Eagles featured a lot of talk about his dissatisfaction with the team's offense and the nature of his relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Brown weighed in on the latter topic during an interview with Maria Taylor after Monday's long-awaited trade to the Patriots. Brown said he doesn't understand why there was so much attention paid to his relationship with Hurts, but acknowledged that the two men are "not as close as we once were" by the end of their final season together.
The receiver insisted "that didn't stop anything" the team was trying to do on the field and said there was no particular incident that led to the change.
"Nothing happened, people just grow apart," Brown said. "Nothing happened between me and him, or our families, wives, anything. Nothing like that ever happened. Life happens and you just look up sometimes and you just you find yourself drifting away and that's fine. And I think both parties accepted that."
Brown said he wants Hurts to do well and "accomplish everything his heart desires," but he'll no longer have a hand in helping Hurts or the Eagles reach any of their goals.

The NFL landscape was shaken up considerably on June 1, as multiple blockbuster trades reshaped the league's power structure.
It started when the Los Angeles Rams acquired two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.
Garrett – who set an NFL record with 23 sacks in 2025 – will provide the Rams a big-time boost to an already great pass rush that ranked fifth in pressure rate last season, per the NFL's Next Gen Stats.
Before the Garrett trade, most sportsbooks viewed the Rams and the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks as the co-favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy following the 2026 NFL season. After it, the Rams are in the pole position as clear-cut favorites to win Super Bowl 61.
That said, the Rams weren't the only Super Bowl contender to bolster their roster. The reigning AFC champion New England Patriots also added a top-tier talent to their roster, acquiring three-time Pro Bowler A.J. Brown in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.

It's a trade that's been anticipated for months, but some fans still weren't convinced it would happen.

Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez is staying away from the team's organized team activities as he seeks a contract extension.
Teammate Marcus Jones explained Gonzalez's stance during Drake Maye's MayeDay Softball Classic. (Gonzalez participated in the event but apparently didn't speak to the media.)
“It’s a day-by-day thing. I’ve been in the situation of learning about how contract negotiations stuff goes about,” Jones said, via Karen Guregian of masslive.com. “At the end of the day, they want what’s best for them, and he wants what’s best for him as well.”
The Patriots exercised the fifth-year option on Gonzalez's contract, which would pay him $18.1 million for the 2027 season. He is scheduled to make $2.259 million in base salary this season.
Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie is at the top of the market at the position with an annual average of $31 million. Gonzalez and Seattle cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who also is seeking an extension, share the same agent.

There's still no reason to believe the Tennessee **** ans are interested in trading All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, but days like June 1 are reminders as to why the conversation comes up so frequently.
In a span of just a couple of hours, the Cleveland Browns traded defensive end Myles Garrett, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for three draft picks and Pro Bowl edge defender Jared Verse. Then the Philadelphia Eagles punctuated months of speculation by dealing Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots for a pair of picks.
Other than the timing, these trades don't have all that much in common. The Eagles are contenders who spent the entire offseason bracing for this deal by drafting and signing Brown's potential replacements. The Browns are in total tear-down mode but now have multiple first-round picks in the much-ballyhooed 2027 draft and one of the league's best young defenders as a cornerstone.
The state of the **** ans is somewhere between, though closer to Cleveland's than Philadelphia's. And that's fitting because Simmons' value, coming off a year where he was the NFL's unquestioned best and most productive interior defensive lineman, is somewhere, though a little closer Garrett's than Brown's.
In exchange for Garrett, who is 30, the Browns got from the Rams a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, a 2029 third-round pick and Verse, a 25-year-old two-time Pro Bowler who hasn't yet reached his prime.

The Houston Texans will hit the road on Christmas Eve to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
One key ****** et from the Super Bowl squad, however, won't be there at the Linc for the showdown before Santa can visit the city.
After months of speculation, the Eagles officially traded three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots for a 2028 first-round draft pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the fifth-round selection will be the better of New England's two selections in that round.
The move has been expected since the early stages of the offseason, when Brown, 29, addressed his frustrations with the franchise during the regular season. Mike Vrabel, who drafted Brown out of Ole Miss while serving as the head coach of the Tennessee ****** ans, made it clear that New England would be interested in adding him to the staff.
Since entering the league in 2019, Brown has been one of the more consistent weapons for Ryan Tannehill and later Jalen Hurts. In six seasons, he ranks fourth among all pass-catchers in both receiving yards (8,029) and touchdown catches (56).

The Rams were already viewed as Super Bowl contenders before today's trade for Myles Garrett. Now they've separated themselves from the pack and become the clear betting favorites.
With Garrett in the fold, the Rams are now +600 favorites to win Super Bowl LXI, which will be played at the Rams' home field, SoFi Stadium. Prior to the trade, the Rams' odds were +850.
The Rams have separated themselves from the other top teams, according to the betting odds. The Bills and Ravens are now tied for the second-best chance to win the Super Bowl, at +1000, followed by the Seeahaks at +1100, Chiefs at +1500 and Eagles, Patriots and Chargers, all at +1600.
The Rams are also +300 favorites to win the NFC Championship Game, an improvement from their +425 odds before trading for Garrett. The Rams are well ahead in the NFC odds, followed by the Seahawks at +550, Eagles at +820, Packers at +870, Lions at +900 and 49ers at +950.
And the Rams have moved from +145 to +100 favorites to win the NFC West, ahead of the Seahawks at +180, 49ers at +280 and Cardinals at +9000.

Patriots' Kayshon Boutte may get a new team if A.J. Brown trade goes through originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Kayshon Boutte, through no fault of his own, may be about to lose his role with the New England Patriots.
If an A.J. Brown trade goes through to bring the star wide receiver aboard from the Philadelphia Eagles, Boutte will have to take a backseat.
The Pats already signed Romeo Doubs this offseason. Adding Brown would mean going from a top-two WR list of Stefon Diggs and Boutte and making it Brown and Doubs instead.
Yes, Boutte would be a high-quality WR3, and so his time in New England wouldn't be doomed.

Patriots Reportedly Meeting To Discuss This Aspect Of A.J. Brown Trade originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Patriots could be mere hours away from acquiring A.J. Brown.
All indications are that New England will trade for the star receiver after 4 p.m. ET on Monday, when the Philadelphia Eagles would be able to spread out Brown's dead-cap charges. However, numerous reports indicate top Patriots decision-makers remain split on whether Brown is worth giving up a future first-round pick.

Report: Patriots-Eagles A.J. Brown Trade Is Almost A Done Deal

Report: Patriots-Eagles A.J. Brown Trade Is 'Almost A Done Deal' originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New England Patriots have been linked to A.J. Brown all offseason, and while many experts expect him to be a Patriot, nothing is confirmed yet.
Over the course of the last week, insiders have started to report that the Eagles and Patriots do not have an agreement in place, and that the Eagles will entertain more offers for the star receiver. It is pretty much a guarantee that Brown will be traded post-June 1, but where is unclear. The Patriots seem to be the favorite, but there is seemingly more doubt now than before.
However, Jason McCourty reported on Tuesday that Brown joining the Patriots is "almost a done deal." This should be great news for Patriots fans patiently awaiting the arrival of Brown.
“All the people on the inside that they know continue to echo the same sentiment that it’s almost a done deal that he’s gonna be a New England Patriot,” McCourty said on "Up & Adams" on Tuesday.

Portsmouth boys lacrosse cruises in win over rival Middletown

MIDDLETOWN – There won’t be a need for a playoff victory to make up for a regular-season sweep this time.
Portsmouth made sure of that Friday, May 8, against rival Middletown. The Patriots were on the wrong end twice against the Islanders last spring before solving them in late May on the way to the Division II boys lacrosse ***** le round.
There was no such mystery on this occasion under the lights at Gaudet Field. Rafe Dionne and Teddy Gersen were sharp in attack from the opening faceoff as Portsmouth zipped to a 10-3 win over Middletown.
Dionne collected six goals and Gersen added a hat trick to go along with an ***** ist on a Luke Brandariz goal. The Patriots needed less than three minutes to take the lead for good, peppering Islanders keeper Corey Chiodo with early shots and eventually building a comfortable cushion.
“We really wanted to beat them,” Dionne said. “We knocked them out of the playoffs last year – they beat us twice before that. So we really came out here with extra drive today to give it to them.”

Five NFL teams that deserve more prime-time games in 2026 schedule

Much to television networks' and streamers' chagrin, the NFL's prime-time schedule can't be built out of Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs games alone.
Still, the league is entering its fourth year with no guarantee for every team to receive at least one prime-time game on its schedule, and the imbalance between the most formidable franchises and the lesser brands has only widened in that time. And with the 2026 schedule release still expected in the near future, the uneven landscape should remain in place as early verdicts are rendered for each franchise.
Having already highlighted the teams deserving of fewer prime-time games this year, here are five franchises that look ready for more turns in the national spotlight in 2026:
With schedule-makers left to guess how New England's Year 1 resurgence under Mike Vrabel might take form, the Patriots only received an initial allotment of three prime-time games last season − the same number given to the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants and Chicago Bears. Safe to say a boost is coming in 2026.
Even independent of the Vrabel controversy that has loomed over the franchise this offseason, the defending AFC champions should compel plenty of people to tune in whenever they play. NFL MVP runner-up Drake Maye is one of the league's most prolific deep throwers, and there should be widespread interest in how the offense rebounds from its Super Bowl 60 unraveling. And if the long-awaited A.J. Brown trade materializes after June 1, the wide receiver's acclimation into the league's No. 2 scoring attack will be one of the most compelling early-season storylines.

Former Patriots WR Stefon Diggs breaks silence on NFL future

Now that the court drama is in the rearview, Stefon Diggs is ready to embark on his next NFL journey.
The former New England Patriots wide receiver has been relatively quiet since being released by the team at the start of the new league year. He had been focused on the criminal charges against him, including felony strangulation and misdemeanor ***** ault and battery, stemming from an alleged incident with his private chef over a money dispute.
However, on Tuesday, a jury found the four-time Pro Bowler not guilty in a trial that only lasted two days. On Wednesday night, Diggs posted the impressive numbers he put up during the 2025 season, which was his first year back from the torn ACL injury he suffered in 2024.
"This is not an opinion-based sport, so here are the numbers," Diggs posted on Instagram. "I played 52% of the snaps and finished with 85 catches for 1,045 yards coming off an ACL. Where we going?"
Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf has said on multiple occasions that he isn't closing the door on the possibility of a reunion with Diggs. He did admit that the team's decision to release him in the first place was due to ability and financial reasons.

It's impossible to know whether the situation involving Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and NFL reporter Dianna Russini will result in Vrabel stepping down as coach of the Patriots (or, possibly, taking a leave of absence for the 2026 season), because it's always possible that more information will come to light.
More information has come to light.
TMZ reports that Vrabel and Russini rented a boat together in June 2021, in Tennessee. The report includes a copy of the waiver they both signed, and a photo taken by Vrabel with staff members at the boat rental company. (Russini, per the report, declined to be photographed with staff.)
In June 2021, Russini — who is married — was pregnant with her first child.
The new report adds to a tapestry of evidence that started with photos of Vrabel and Russini at an adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona in March 2026. Later photos surfaced of Vrabel and Russini at a New York City bar in March 2020, and at a Mississippi casino in January 2024.
