It is a sign of the times ... literally. Advertisements dominate our daily viewing more than we may realize. Depending on the day, the average person will see between 4,000 and 10,000 advertisements. Ohio State fans will be adding one more to that list, as it was announced earlier today that the Buckeye Athletic Department has entered into an agreement with Chase Bank and will wear a jersey patch on all of its uniforms. The reported agreement will give OSU another $17 million to play with per year.
As you can imagine, there were some passionate responses to seeing the scarlet and gray uniform become a walking billboard. Some see it as a necessary evil in today's name, image and likeness arms race, while others, holding tight to tradition, were not so forgiving. According to MLB.com's Jason Beck, infielder/outfielder Javier Baez will return from the injured list and play center field.

An Australian athlete passed a murder scene while on a Commonwealth Games training run in Glasgow.
Olli ***** witnessed the aftermath of a fatal knife attack, which happened in Burgher Street, in the east end of the city, about 15:00 on Friday.
Police Scotland said Paul McMinigal, 44, was discovered in a close and ***** ounced dead at the scene.
The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Australian athletes have since been asked to train in small groups and not to run in nation's distinctive green and yellow team uniform.
However BBC Scotland News has been told this advice is standard protocol at championships and not a Glasgow-specific request.

Ohio State has inked a jersey patch sponsorship deal with JPMorgan Chase, sources tell On3. The Buckeyes become the latest college football brand to add a jersey patch ahead of the 2026 season.
The deal spans the full athletic department and all 36 varsity sports. The investment also provides new resources to support Ohio State athletes through NIL opportunities, enhances the Buckeyes' overall competitive success and facilitates academic partnerships across the university.
Ohio State becomes one of the biggest college football brands to date to add a jersey patch to its uniform. The JPMorgan Chase logo will sit above the Big Ten patch on the front of Ohio State's jerseys.
JPMorgan Chase has a longstanding relationship with central Ohio, as one of Columbus' largest private employers. The firm has brought on more than 1,700 Ohio State alumni in the past five years, too. The deal was brokered by Learfield.
"JPMorganChase is a global brand with deep roots in Ohio, making them a natural partner that
shares our commitment to innovation, excellence and long-term community impact," Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork said in a statement. "Together, we have built a comprehensive and historic partnership that reflects the strong commercial strength of the Ohio State Athletics identity and the broader college athletics landscape. The Los Angeles Rams will debut their new Classic Sol alternate uniforms when they host the New York Giants in Week 2 of the 2026 season. The Monday Night Football matchup is set for September 21 at SoFi Stadium.
The Classic Sol uniform features a gold jersey with royal triple striping on the sleeves and block-style numbers. It is paired with white pants that carry a traditional blue-gold-blue triple stripe down each side. The Los Angeles Rams revealed their new alternate uniforms on Thursday, displaying two looks that are throwbacks to the past. One pays homage to the 1950s teams in Los Angeles, and the other is a nod to the "Fearsome Foursome."
Inspiring a new generation with a look back to the past, here are three observations of the uniforms.
When I first saw the all-white uniform, it conjured images of snowy Chicago and how the Rams' white road uniforms blended in so nicely with the snow. It's a sleek look that would look amazing, should the Rams once again be forced to go on the road in the postseason.
What really takes it over the top is the white horns. An homage to the past, the way the white pops off the blue really shows off the entire look.
As the all-white jersey pays respect to the Rams before the NFL-AFL merger, the current defensive line took a picture honoring the original foursome that defined the look in the 60s and 70s. The current crop of fans may not have been able to enjoy watching the likes of Merlin Olsen, Deacon Jones, Lamar Lundy, and Rosey Grier dominate in their time, but Myles Garrett, Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, Byron Young, and potentially Aaron Donald should be able to emulate that feeling this season.

The New York Jets will be wearing a new alternate helmet when they host the Green Bay Packers during Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season. The Jets debuted a new "White Out" helmet, featuring a white shell and white facemask, that will be worn during the team's home opener at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 20 with the Packers in town.

The helmet also includes a green stripe down the middle and a green "Jets" logo on each side. New York will match the helmet with their "Legacy White" uniforms to create the new look.

The San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday revealed what jersey they'll wear for what game on their 2026 schedule.
San Francisco has five different uniform sets this season. They have their usual home red and road white jerseys. They have their red and white throwbacks that were first worn in the 1994 season. They'll also run back the all black rivalry uniform they wore in Week 18 last season when they were thumped by the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium.
This year the 49ers will lean heavily on their standard home and road uniforms. They'll wear their home reds eight times, however they won't wear them again after Week 12 against the Seahawks. San Francisco will wear their white road jerseys five times, their throwback reds twice, throwback whites once and their black rivalry uniform once.
