We always need to remember that actors are not the characters they portray, no matter how well they sell the role. They're just acting, after all, not showing their true colors. So finding out an actor that normally plays villains is actually a decent person shouldn't be surprising.
And no, it isn't surprising, but it is incredibly funny. There may be something to someone needing to be nice and empathic enough to understand how evil someone can be. These are the actors that are often typecasted as villains, while being incredibly decent persons themselves.

Every generation, decade, or year has that one face you can't seem to escape from, their rising fame morphing them into a constant element of your everyday life. Back in the 80s, it was actors like Harrison Ford, and Clint Eastwood was everywhere before him. Nowadays is no different, with several faces appearing everywhere you look.
Reward ceremonies, shows, movies, even within streaming services, you just can't escape them. If you're into how they act, then all the better, but if you're not, they seem like an invasion you can't escape from. These are the ones we feel are inescapable no matter where you look.

Between Marty Supreme, Dune: Part Three, and his continued presence in awards-season conversations, Chalamet has barely left the cultural spotlight. Variety even described his recent run as arriving while "the bat was red-hot," and his workload shows no signs of slowing.

True entertainers can charm the pants off even the toughest of critics. Although anyone with good Wi-Fi and a clean iPhone lens can go viral, it takes hard work, genuine talent, a whole lot of perseverance, and, of course, innate magnetism to cut through the algorithm and catch the attention of industry gatekeepers and fickle fans alike. And all 31 honorees selected for our 2026 Breakthrough List have done just that.

Actor-writer-director Eva Victor, for instance, went from posting (respectfully) goofy pandemic-era TikTok sketches to darling of last year's Sundance Film Festival with her debut feature Sorry, Baby; now, she calls Pedro Pascal and Olivia Wilde co-stars. For FLO, "Leak It" has established the British trio as one of music's most sizzling R&B acts, while campy duo Haute & Freddy's synthy whimsy and thoughtful lyricism earned them the stamp of approval from a certified pop icon: Lady Gaga. After cutting his teeth with one supporting role after the next, The Shards standout Igby Rigney proves he has what it takes to be one of TV's leading men. Meanwhile, Mexican actor Diego Calva has one Golden Globe nomination to his name, and we predict another coming his way for his tender performance in Jordan Firstman's already-buzzy Club Kid.

Whether they're topping charts with tomorrow's Grammy-winning earworms, delighting audiences in mega-viral social media series, or breathing new life into beloved franchises like Legally Blonde and Baywatch, these artists will remain at the top of our feeds, queues, and playlists for years. Below, meet this year's breakthroughs.

Calling Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde, and Amanda Peete co-stars is no small matter, but that's reality for Aimee Carrero, a scene-stealer in Apple TV+'s Emmy-nominated Your Friends and Neighbors. A featured player in dozens of IMDb credits thus far, the Dominican-American actress from Miami has a starring role in the comedy One Attempt Remaining (with Jennifer Garner, Kate McKinnon, John Cena, no less) coming down the pike. As for who Carrero thinks will have a banner year? Inde Navarrette: "I love seeing a young Latina woman out there doing her thing."

What was your first job?
Working in a furniture store—West Elm. A celebrity who will remain unnamed came in and ordered a ton of sh*t. It was gonna be a huge commission for me. I went to ring her up, and the card declined. She says, "I'll be back tomorrow." Never came back.

Who should play you in your biopic?
Olivia Rodrigo. You want someone younger and more beautiful than you to do it.

What's the most underrated movie, TV show, song, or album of all time?
Well, it wasn't underrated at the time, but I do think this new generation needs to get into The X Files. Gillian Anderson was my first celebrity crush. There's a new one coming out—Ryan Coogler's—it's gonna be amazing, I'm sure.

When it comes to dominating the ring and then taking Hollywood by storm, no group does it quite like professional wrestlers. These larger-than-life personalities don't just captivate crowds with championship belts, they break through on red carpets and big screens, showcasing a charisma built under the brightest of spotlights. As actors, they shatter stereotypes and win over new fans, proving that transitioning from wrestling superstars to leading movie or television stars is as natural as a body slam. Here are the wrestling legends seen both in the ring and on the silver screen.
Adam Copeland, whose wrestling career skyrocketed under the name Edge, has charmed audiences beyond the squared circle. Known for his intense presence and sharp charisma in WWE, he transitioned smoothly to acting, appearing in series and films where his raw energy translates perfectly on screen. Stacy Keibler carved her own path from the world of wrestling to mainstream celebrity status. After her time in WWE, Keibler landed roles that included the TV series George Lopez, What About Brian and How I Met Your Mother, per IMDb.
With a persona that's defined generations, the late Hulk Hogan took his fame from the wrestling ring to pop-culture stardom. Known for his iconic look and larger-than-life attitude, his acting career began with a cameo in Rocky III (1982) and extended to starring in films such as No Holds Barred and Suburban Commando, as well as television shows including Thunder in Paradise and the reality series Hogan Knows Best, as reported by IMDb. From family films to reality TV, he became a household name beyond wrestling fans, and was among the first wrestlers to cross over into Hollywood and gain mainstream recognition, according to F4W Online.
Bill Goldberg bulldozed through WCW and WWE, creating an aura of dominance celebrated in and out of the ring. He rose to fame in WCW with a lengthy undefeated streak in singles competition from 1997 to 1998, going an unprecedented 173-0, which is considered the longest winning streak in professional wrestling, per WWE.com. His unmistakable energy and imposing look made him perfectly suited for action roles on TV and in movies, including The Longest Yard, Universal Soldier: The Return, and Santa's Slay, thrilling audiences with every appearance, according to IMDb.
