Tesla (TSLA) has apparently ended sales of its Solar Roof tiles, nearly a decade after CEO Elon Musk unveiled the product as a sleek alternative to conventional solar panels. Tesla now only offers customers its standard solar panels, with reports from installers indicating the company is no longer supplying new Solar Roof tiles.
The move marks a major retreat from one of Musk's most ambitious clean-energy concepts. Yet it does not mean Tesla is abandoning solar. Instead, the company appears to be shifting toward a simpler and potentially more scalable model centered on traditional panels, while continuing to expand its much larger energy-storage business.

When you think of College GameDay, you think of a festive, joyous atmosphere that celebrates college football and campuses around the country. But it wasn't always that way, especially if Lee Corso dared to pick the visiting team.
Before his retirement at the beginning of last season, Corso's mascot headgear pick was the climax of the program and one of the highlights of televised sports every week across the fall. Thankfully, ESPN has decided to retire the tradition along with him as it hasn't been picked up since. But the hype and anticipation for who he would pick and whether he would ride with the home team or dare to go against the grain was a huge deal.
And it was apparently too huge for some.
Longtime College GameDay ******* yst Kirk Herbstreit appeared on The Press Box podcast with Bryan Curtis at The Ringer and detailed a couple of scary incidents where fans were so upset over Corso's headgear picks that they actually threw projectiles at the set in the early years of the road show. Once it was a golf ball, and another time it was a full beer can. Herbstreit said that after the second occasion, the show put up a protective net behind the stage to ensure the safety of the on-air personalities.
"I remember two different occasions. We were at LSU doing an LSU-Alabama game and Corso picked Alabama. And he put on an elephant hat. This is before he did the helmets. And he had a massive Alabama red or crimson flag with an "A" on it and he's picking Alabama right in the heart of Baton Rouge. And here comes a golf ball flying from I don't know, 30 yards out, and it just happened to hit the flag that he was waving and it landed right on the desk," Herbstreit said.

In a statement on 20 August 2026, the Directorate-General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) said Boohoo had mislabelled synthetic products as "leather," "faux leather," and "suede," breaching French rules governing the accurate description of textiles and footwear.
An investigation by the DGCCRF's National Directorate for Investigative Operations found that Boohoo failed to provide legally required information on the composition of textile products and the materials used for shoe uppers, linings, and soles.
The regulator also identified additional instances of misleading commercial practices. Boohoo was found to have advertised price reductions online that did not accurately reflect real discounts.
According to the DGCCRF, 40% of the **** ysed promotions offered no genuine saving, 7% provided a smaller discount than advertised, and 48% of the cases represented a price increase.
The Paris Public Prosecutor approved a criminal settlement requiring Boohoo.com UK to pay the fine to the State Treasury, which the company has done.

Northridge and Goshen were the top two teams in the Northern Lakes Conference last year with the Raiders eventually prevailing for their third straight NLC **** le.
No one would be surprised if those two are once again this year at the top of the league standings.
"I feel the NLC will be tough again this year across the top," said Northridge coach Chris Malott, whose squad finished 15-3-2 overall last year and 7-0 in the conference.
"We return a seasoned core from last year. Goshen and Warsaw also return some very talented players. Concord and NorthWood have some talent and I feel they may surprise some people. Plymouth has a new coach (Lindsey Stiles) and I think she will bring some good things to the program."
No. 14-ranked (3A) Northridge will be led by Adelynn Miller (12 goals, seven **** ists), Anna Garber (three goals, one **** ist), Brylee Yoder (one goal, three **** ists) and Halle Moeller from last year's Class 3A sectional championship squad. All four were all-conference selections last year. Yoder also made the honorable mention All-State team.

When Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby was asked about the team's defensive offseason additions at the beginning of training camp, he mentioned one player by name: linebacker Quay Walker.
"It was back in OTAs," Crosby replied, "but I was out there doing a walkthrough, and I'm getting in a stance, and we're in the indoor [facility], Quay gave me a call and I just looked back. I looked at him and started just laughing out loud, and I don't even know why. He's like, 'What are you laughing at, bro?' I'm like, 'I've never seen a linebacker that big. I've never played with a linebacker that looks like the size of me.'"
The 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive lineman was rightfully impressed by the 6-foot-4, 240-pound linebacker's size. According to MockDraftable, Walker's measurements at the 2022 NFL Combine are in the 91st, 61st and 84th percentiles when it comes to height, weight and wingspan (nearly 80 inches), respectively, for the position. It's worth noting that MockDraftable's database goes back to 1999, when linebackers were heavier in the NFL, and 240-plus-pound second-level defenders are a rare breed in today's game.
That change is due to the rise of the passing game in the league, shifting the priority to athletic linebackers who can hold up in coverage. Despite what his size might suggest, the Georgia product is also an elite athlete for the position. He tested very well at the combine to earn a 9.63 out of 10 Relative Athletic Score, highlighted by a 4.52-second 40-yard dash (9.65 RAS), 6.89-second three-cone time (9.29) and 10-foot-2 broad jump (8.69).
For good measure, he also showed off plenty of strength during the pre-draft process by hitting 23 reps on the bench press.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz on Sunday blamed former President Biden for the Pentagon being low on munitions but denied that the depletion is negatively impacting the war with Iran.
"We have to take a step back here in that a lot of stockpiles were depleted not only from what we gave Ukraine over the last … four or five years," Waltz told host Kristen Welker on NBC News's "Meet the Press."
Waltz also said Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth "inherited a depleted situation" from the Biden administration due to U.S. strikes on the Houthis — which the Trump administration carried out for nearly two months last year due to the Yemeni terrorist group targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea.
NBC News reported Friday that U.S. military commanders have been selectively choosing which Iranian missiles and explosive-packed drones to intercept amid an effort to preserve the Pentagon's diminishing supply of weapons that block projectiles from reaching their targets.
Military ***** ysts also ***** s it could take the U.S. four years or more to restock its weapons inventory. But that is only if Congress provides the administration with additional funding for the war.

July 21 (Reuters) - Defense supplier Northrop Grumman on Tuesday lifted its 2026 sales and adjusted profit forecast, supported by sustained demand for weapons amid a wave of global geopolitical conflicts.
U.S. President Donald Trump has been pressing defense companies to expand manufacturing capacity and boost weapons production as the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East drain the country's stockpiles.
The U.S. has expended more than 50,000 rockets, missiles and other rocket-propelled projectiles since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022 through the war with Iran, according to data from the Pentagon.
Trump has also proposed a record $1.5 trillion military budget for fiscal year 2027, far exceeding the $901 billion approved for 2026.

NEW DELHI, July 15 (Reuters) - India and Britain's trade pact took effect on Wednesday, cutting tariffs on thousands of goods and expanding market access for services firms and professionals in both countries.
The India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement gives Indian exporters duty-free access to most British tariff lines, benefiting sectors such as textiles, leather, footwear, marine products, gems and jewellery, and processed foods.
Britain, meanwhile, gains greater access to one of the world's fastest-growing major economies through phased tariff cuts and quotas for sectors such as automobiles and silver, as well as openings in procurement, financial services, education, insurance and professional services.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a post on X that the trade pact and accompanying social security agreement would deepen economic ties and give "fresh momentum" to India's farmers, entrepreneurs and small businesses.

WASHINGTON, July 7 (Reuters) - The U.S. Central Command said on Tuesday it completed a new round of strikes on Iran and that it had struck over 80 targets during its latest attacks.
Along with unleashing a new wave of strikes against Iran, Washington had also revoked a license allowing the country to sell oil after three tankers were hit by projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz.
"U.S. forces struck Iranian air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats in and near the strait (of Hormuz) to degrade Iran's ability to continue attacking international commerce flowing through the international trade corridor," the U.S. military said in a statement.
"CENTCOM forces remain postured and prepared to hold Iran accountable when the agreement is not adhered to or obeyed."

The 2026 World Cup group stage pulled more fans into stadiums than any full tournament in the competition’s entire history.
FIFA released its official group-stage figures on Sunday, a day after the opening round wrapped up. The governing body counted 4.6 million spectators across the 72 matches staged in 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The 17 days of action drew supporters from 210 countries and territories. In doing so, the first 48-team World Cup blew past an attendance record that had stood since the United States last hosted back in 1994.
That benchmark had survived more than three decades and two tournament expansions.
The headline figure is 4,644,549 — the people who passed through the turnstiles across the group phase. FIFA says that filled 99.7% of all available seats, for an average crowd of 64,508 per match.

Girona FC and PUMA officially present the first kit for the 2026/27 season. A design that combines tradition and identity to create a jersey that looks to the future without losing sight of its history. The new kit brings back the traditional red and white vertical stripes, one of the most representative features of Girona FC, and incorporates blue details on the collar and sleeve edges.
The main novelty, however, is the return of the blue shorts, a piece closely linked to the Club's history and part of its usual image for more than six decades, from 1949 to 2010. The set is completed with the return of white socks, reinforcing a classic aesthetic that is fully identifiable with the red-and-white tradition.
The jersey is part of the global campaign for the 2026/27 season, under the slogan "Everything starts with believing", a narrative that highlights the emotions accompanying any sporting challenge: the excitement to begin, the determination to continue, and the hope to keep moving forward.
Sustainable material
PUMA uses RE:FIBRE technology in the jersey, which involves manufacturing the garments with 95% recycled polyester from textile waste and other polyester waste materials. At the same time, it allows the material to be recycled multiple times without losing quality. This waste material is transformed into new textiles through innovative processes such as chemical or thermomechanical recycling.

David Bowie was a star who flourished behind pseudonyms and personas. It was Ziggy Stardust who launched him from one-hit-wonder status to household name in the summer of 1972. A performance of Starman on Top of the Pops was for many the moment Britain transitioned from black and white into Technicolor.
There was the Thin White Duke in 1976 and then came the mainstream pop star courting worldwide fame with 1983's Let's Dance, though it was a disposition that soon made Bowie deeply unhappy.
He became more comfortable in his own skin during the 1990s, though he still enjoyed some role play, often signing off interactions with his fans online as "Sailor". And perhaps his most surprising adopted persona was that of the fierce football fan. During a short-lived but genuine fascination with England's national side, he even referred to himself as a player from the 1966 World Cup-winning team in emails with his PR, Alan Edwards.
"I remember he started referring to himself as ***** by, as in ***** by Stiles, which gives you an idea of where he'd picked it up, although he wasn't a big football fan," recalls Edwards. "I think his local team was Crystal Palace because they were around the corner from Beckenham. His best friend Geoff [MacCormack] is a big ***** nal fan like myself."
Edwards is an avid watcher of the beautiful game, and took in the 1982 World Cup final in a Turin bar with Mick Jagger and a few other stray Stones. He was used to fellow ***** nal fan Roger Daltrey on the other end of the line for a post-match chat: "I have a 15, 20-minute debrief after every single game with Roger."

More than 890 people were arrested across France in riots following Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG's) Champions League victory, French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said on Monday.
That was 45% more arrests than after the club's victory the previous year, the minister told the broadcaster France Inter.
He said the high number of arrests showed that the security forces had done their job well, as it had been clear in advance that riots would occur.
Rioting broke out in several French cities as PSG rose to victory. In some places, shops were looted and fires set.
On the Champs-Élysées boulevard in Paris, where thousands of people had gathered, clashes occurred between masked individuals and security forces. Projectiles and tear gas were used.

More than 100 million years ago, huge marine reptiles might have chomped down on marlin-like fish, violently thrashing their prey until their heads ripped off, according to fossils that were recently ******* yzed.
Researchers studied more than 300 fossils belonging to Aspidorhynchus, a genus of extinct fish, from a large region of Germany that was once a series of islands scattered throughout a shallow sea. The area is recognized for yielding particularly well-preserved fossils from the Late Jurassic, which stretched from about 160 million to 145 million years ago.

A team of researchers may have found a groundbreaking solution to one of fashion's biggest sustainability problems. By turning farm waste into sustainable fabric, it's solving multiple problems with one solution.
Scientists from the University of Copenhagen and the Technical University of Denmark have developed a new method to make textiles from leftover crop materials. Their innovation, described in the Royal Society of Chemistry Sustainability journal, could reshape how our global fashion industry sources materials.
