It's a critical win for the Seminoles (8-2-3) as the program currently sits just outside of the top six in the ACC standings. Those six programs make the ACC tournament. With results elsewhere in the league, FSU sits in eighth place, level on points with Miami, which it faces on Sunday, and one point behind Louisville in sixth.
First-half goals from Shaniel Buckley and Tanner Strickland put the Seminoles ahead in the opening 15 minutes. Both goals came within minutes of each other.
Moments after a Kate Ockene save forced a Duke corner kick, Buckley dribbled the length of the field before she calmly slotted her finish home past Blue Devil keeper Molly Vapensky in the 10th minute.
In the 13th minute, Strikland was first to react to a corner kick fired into the box, and her volleyed strike deflected off a Duke defender and into the net to double the lead. The Seminoles remained in control for much of the half, but errant communication between Ockene and Bridget Mutipula gifted the Blue Devils a goal.

Yamaha has locked in its Moto2 line-up for 2027, signing Moto3 standout Álvaro Carpe to join the returning Alberto Ferrández on the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team. Both riders are 19 and represent Yamaha's ongoing push to funnel young talent up through the categories via its BLU CRU project.
Ferrandez is currently in his first full Moto2 season, partnering with Izan Guevara with the Pramac Yamaha team. Facing a new category and several circuits he'd never seen before, his rookie year presented a steep learning curve, with Ferrández currently sitting 21st overall. For his second season, Yamaha expects him to take a big step forward, with Team Director Gino Borsoi setting a clear benchmark for Ferrandez to "establish himself consistently inside the top ten from the beginning of the championship."
Carpe arrives from Moto3, where he spent the past two seasons with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. Carpe finished fourth overall as a rookie in 2025, and finds himself in the same position this season. Chants of "Barry! Barry!" resounded throughout Bridgestone Arena prior to the Nashville Predators game against the Washington Capitals.
The former coach of both teams, Barry Trotz, became the newest member of the Predators' Golden Hall on Oct. 29, with the ceremony taking place at center ice before the game. Majority owner Bill Haslam, former general manager David Poile, and CEO Sean Henry joined Trotz for the presentation.
"I've been blessed to work with three wonderful organizations, and two of them are here tonight," Trotz said during his induction speech. "I'm honored and humbled to be inducted into the Golden Hall and standing beside Predators greats."

Layne Riggs remained firmly in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship contention Friday, finishing eighth in the Love's RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway. The Front Row Motorsports driver started ninth, led six laps and competed near the front throughout much of the afternoon. Riggs demonstrated impressive speed early, finishing fifth in Stage 1 before improving to second in Stage 2.
His No. 34 Ford continued running among the leaders during the final stage, allowing him to challenge Kaden Honeycutt and several other championship contenders. Riggs appeared positioned for a potential victory when he restarted on the outside of the front row alongside Sammy Smith in overtime.
He received a push from Honeycutt, but the outside lane struggled to maintain momentum against the inside line. As Ty Majeski moved ahead of Riggs, Honeycutt eventually found an opportunity to pass his championship rival. Riggs slipped backward during the final-lap battle and finished eighth, earning 44 points through his finishing position and stage performances.
He remains second in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chase standings with 2,328 points. However, Riggs now trails Honeycutt by 43 points with only Martinsville and Homestead-Miami remaining. Riggs will need to outscore his rival significantly to keep his championship hopes alive.

AT&T is speeding up its plan to phase out long-standing services that customers keep canceling as demand for newer alternatives grows.
Several of these alternatives have seen strong customer growth in the third quarter of this year. According to AT&T's latest earnings report, the carrier attracted 379,000 postpaid phone customers during the quarter.
It also added 416,000 AT&T Fiber customers, up 44.4% year over year, and 280,000 new Internet Air (its fixed wireless internet service) customers, a 3.7% increase from the same period in 2025.
On an earnings call on Oct. 21, AT&T CEO John Stankey said that the company has been focused on "removing friction for consumers by constructing plans built around simplicity, transparent value, and convergence."

Sarina Wiegman has signed a two-year contract extension to remain England Women's head coach until the end of the 2029 European Championships.
The 56-year-old Dutch coach's contract with England was due to expire after next summer's Women's World Cup in Brazil.
The extension means Wiegman will remain in post through next summer's World Cup and Euro 2029, as well the 2027 Nations League campaign next spring which will serve as a qualification pathway for a Team GB squad at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Wiegman's backroom staff, including Janneke Bijl and Arvid Smit, who joined after the 2025 Euros, will remain in post as well as long-standing goalkeeping coach Darren Ward.
It is the second contract extension of Wiegman's England tenure since her appointment in September 2021, having signed a new contract in 2024 after reaching the World Cup final with England in Australia and New Zealand.

Juventus were soundly beaten in an embarrassing 3-0 victory at home against Lazio on Sunday evening, and to make matters worse for the Bianconeri, Francisco Conceicao is now looking at up to a month on the sidelines as the club fear he has suffered a dislocated shoulder.
Goals from Oliver Provstgaard, Gustav Isaksen and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru gave Lazio a 3-0 victory away against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night, which has sent Gennaro Gattuso's side back to the top of the Serie A standings along with Inter, while the Bianconeri sit eight points off the lead after seven league games in 2026-27.

FC Bayern welcome ****** nal to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening (21.00 CEST) for Matchday 3 of the Champions League. The Munich side faced the Gunners in the league phase last season too – and, after five consecutive matches against them without defeat (four wins), suffered a 3–1 defeat at the hands of Mikel Arteta's team in London. Now, FCB are out for revenge on their home turf, and as our ****** ysis of the facts shows, the prospects of that are pretty good.
Of the seven home games against the Gunners to date, the Munich men have lost just one and come away as winners on five occasions. The record champions have won all three of their most recent encounters in Munich – including two by a margin of at least four goals.
Overall, too, the head-to-head stats favour the Bavarians. In 15 Champions League meetings, FCB have won eight of them, three have ended in a draw and ****** nal have won four times. This means the London side have lost 53 per cent of their matches against FCB – of all the opponents the Gunners have faced five times or more in major European competition, they have a higher loss rate only against Barcelona (67 per cent – six defeats from nine matches).

Jose Mourinho may have found the answer to Real Madrid's midfield problems after Arda Guler delivered an outstanding performance in a deeper role.
The Portuguese manager started the Turkish international in defensive midfield against Sevilla, and Los Blancos produced their best performance of the season, securing a 4-1 victory.
According to Diario AS, Guler is now emerging as a genuine long-term option alongside Aurelien Tchouameni, with his influence in central midfield transforming Madrid's attacking play.
Mourinho made several tactical adjustments against Sevilla, deploying Guler alongside Tchouameni, moving Federico Valverde to right-back and placing Yan Diomande on the left in Vinicius Junior's absence.
However, Guler's presence in midfield proved particularly influential.
