Now, a shock offer seems to be on its way to the free agent, as Fiorentina are keen to table a three-year deal. La Viola's sporting director Fabio Paratici has allegedly been a Sancho admirer for a while, yet the terms on offer will certainly have to be lower than the €10 million net total the former England international earned until last season.
Sancho hasn't yet given a response, but his team will be ready to resolve any concerns in the coming hours. Last year, he turned down a move to Roma, as Gian Piero Gasperini expressly asked Frederic Massara for him. While he chose to stay in the Premier League for the remainder of that term, it now looks like he'll leave England.
Jadon Sancho has been something of a frustrating figure for English football. His rising status took him from the academies of Watford and Manchester City, before he became a poster boy for a British generation trying their hand abroad.

Real football is back for the Dallas Cowboys, who are set to take the field for the first time in training camp on Wednesday. Most of the roster is set, with a conservative number of around 35 players all but guaranteed to make the team.

While neither excelled as a receiver in the offense, Spann-Ford is a much better blocker.

Two Detroit automakers jumped Monday morning on positive ****** yst news. Jefferies upgraded both General Motors and Ford to buy ratings, from hold.
The investment firm raised General Motors' price target to $99 from $90; and Ford to $17.50, up from $14.50, according to theFly.com. The price targets imply a 12-month upside of 17% for GM and 21% for Ford, relative to where shares traded Monday morning.

The Vita Vea sweepstakes could be heating up. With reports that the disgruntled Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle requested a trade and would prefer a team based in California, rumors are swirling about a potential San Francisco 49ers connection. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler added more fuel to that fire when he listed the 49ers among five potential trade fits for Vea.
San Francisco's pass-rush numbers make the interest easy to understand, as well as the team's salary cap situation. The 49ers had a league-low 20 sacks in 2025, and Vea has 11.5 sacks over the past two seasons. For his career, Vea has piled up 35 sacks, 34 tackles and seven tackles for loss last season alone, along with 13 quarterback hits, numbers that have made him a two-time Pro Bowler over his eight seasons in Tampa.

According to Foot Mercato, the Bees have agreed a package worth €48 million plus bonuses and a percentage of any future sale for the 24-year-old.

Petar Aleksić was named an ******* istant coach for the Rebels on July 28.
"Petar has built a reputation as a winner everywhere he's coached," Beard said in a school release. "His experience developing players, leading championship programs and competing at the highest levels of European basketball brings tremendous value to our staff. He's a teacher, a proven leader and someone who shares our commitment to building a championship culture at Ole Miss."
Beard was an ******* istant coach under Aleksić for the 2015 Swiss National Team in EuroBasket. That team upset Russia in the second qualifying round of the tournament. Aleksić also spent time with the Rebels in 2024-25 when Ole Miss reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
Aleksić spent 10 seasons (2013-23) as the coach of Fribourg Olympic, a professional team, and has also served as coach of the Swiss men's national team from 2013-17. Aleksić had a 17-year professional playing career competing in the Yugoslav First and Second divisions, as well as in Hungary and Switzerland.

Getting rid of the football before it becomes a sack is one of the least appreciated skills a quarterback can have. Fortunately for the Los Angeles Rams, Matthew Stafford has shown to be one of the best in the NFL at doing just that — and landed among one of the best quarterbacks all-time.

The PGA Tour has begun revealing which tournaments will become Championship Series events in 2028 when a new two-track model is implemented.
First up for the PGA Tour's top-tier Championship Series is the Travelers Championship, which has been played annually at TPC River Highlands just outside Hartford, Connecticut, each June, typically the week after the U.S. Open. Since 2023, the Travelers has been one of eight $20 million signature events on the PGA Tour. The announcement was made on Monday.
In 2028, the PGA Tour Championship Series will comprise roughly 15 regular-season events, in addition to the four major championships, Players Championship, and playoff events. Purses for the PGA Tour-operated events (the non-majors) will be at least $20 million, with some tournaments like the Players and a revamped Tour Championship offering even more prize money. The second-tier Challenger Series will comprise at least 20 events, each offering much lower purses of at least $4 million. Both series will run from approximately February to August, and will include annual promotion and relegation between the circuits.
"Right now we have 47 events at the PGA Tour—we'll have 47 events going forward," PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said when he unveiled the plans for the new scheduling model in June. "That current model serves roughly 230 players. We'll serve that amount of players, the same. We are just organized now in a more simple understanding competitively so our fans can understand it, our partners know what they're getting as far as value. So we think we've just organized the same tour into a much more interesting and competitive system."
The second confirmed Championship Series event will be sponsored by Sompo, a ***** anese insurance and financial services firm, the PGA Tour announced on Tuesday. The event's market has yet to be determined, though. In 2027, Sompo will back a full-field (non-signature) PGA Tour event at Silverado Resort's North Course in Napa, California, July 29 to Aug. 1—effectively replacing the Rocket Classic in Detroit, which is leaving the PGA Tour schedule after this season. It is a stunning departure from one of the most aggressive youth-focused transfer strategies in Premier League history, which has brought waves of potential to Stamford Bridge replete with lavish decade-long contracts. It would be wrong to say the transfer policy has been completely flawed. Nurturing young talent and investing in sellable ******* ets is the modus operandi of many well-run clubs. Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo were youthful signings, as were Enzo Fernandez and Wesley Fofana. Estevao and Joao Pedro had excellent debut seasons in an underwhelming Chelsea team.

The Rams were among the favorites for Super Bowl LXIII before they traded for Myles Garrett in June and acquiring the defensive player of the year has only pushed expectations for the coming season higher in Los Angeles.
Head coach Sean McVay acknowledged those expectations at the start of training camp while noting that "there's a lot of stuff in the midst of the journey that we don't control." McVay wants the Rams to prioritize the things they do control when it comes to preparing for the season and quarterback Matthew Stafford was in a similar frame of mind when he spoke to reporters on Monday.
Stafford said he wants the team to focus on improving their baseline level of play rather than thinking about how high they can climb if everything falls into place.
"We can't help but make each other better, [but] pieces of paper and names on a roster, those don't win football games," Stafford said, via Greg Beacham of the ******* ociated Press. "Teams and players and groups do. . . . Sean said it the other night, we've got potentially a high ceiling, right? We've got great players that have done a lot in this league. What can we do to continue to raise our floor, so if I'm off a little bit, we can still go find a way to win a football game? If our defense is off a little bit, we can still find a way to go win a football game. Continuing to raise that floor is something that's going to be a huge part of our journey this season."
There are a number of ways that a talented team can get thrown off track over the course of an NFL season. The work that Stafford and the Rams do now can't eliminate all of them, but anything they can do to pare that number down will help them weather the inevitable curveballs that come their way over the next few months.

Newcastle United have added Braga goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek to their list of summer targets as they continue the search for another senior option between the posts. According to Sky Sports, the Magpies are reassessing the market after missing out on James Trafford, with Hornicek now viewed as a genuine candidate.
The 24-year-old Czechia international appears to fit the profile Newcastle have been examining. He is young, has strong recent exposure in European competition and, crucially, has already shown the sort of consistency that tends to elevate a goalkeeper into a more competitive transfer bracket. A return of 24 clean sheets in 55 appearances last season underlines why interest is building, while seven shut-outs in 14 Europa League matches points to a player comfortable on a bigger stage.

There is no suggestion yet that Newcastle have advanced to a formal bid, but enquiries have been made and the situation is clearly active. Hornicek's reported £30 million release clause gives this potential move a defined framework, even if competition from elsewhere in Europe could yet shape the pace of any negotiations. Benfica are also checking on his availability, while Hull City previously moved to trigger the clause before the player turned that opportunity down.
That context matters. It indicates Hornicek is in demand, and it also suggests he is being selective about the next step in his career. For Newcastle, that may be encouraging if they decide to move decisively.

Magic Johnson is optimistic about the Los Angeles Lakers' summer rebuild following LeBron James' departure.
The Lakers have signed seven new players, including two draft picks, to build around Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.
These include former Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler and ex-Toronto Raptors forward Sandro Mamukelashvili.
However, Johnson appears most pleased with the Lakers' one-year, $3.3 million signing of Matisse Thybulle.
