Luciano Spalletti said that Juventus players need to look at themselves after Gleison Bremer criticised his teammates for not showing enough character in Sunday's 3-0 Serie A defeat against Lazio, but says that he will be doing the same of himself: 'I need to ask myself questions and find the answers'.
The tension is palpable in Juventus circles following Sunday's 3-0 defeat at home against Lazio, which has left the Bianconeri eight points off the league leaders after just seven matches. They are currently worse off in terms of points than they were at the same stage of the 2025-26 season, just before Igor Tudor was dismissed from his position as head coach.

It was a miserable evening for Juventus supporters, some of whom turned on each other and began fighting in the stands. They were heavily criticised in Monday morning's newspapers and defender Bremer also chastised his teammates, claiming 'I can't carry everyone'.
"It is true, the coach gives indications, but we are the ones who need to put it into action on the field," said the Juventus defender after full-time on Sunday.

Gennaro Gattuso is thrilled with the Lazio players who produced a fabulous performance against Juventus on Sunday.
The Biancocelesti extended their superb start to the Serie A campaign by registering their sixth win in seven rounds. Oliver Provstgaard, Gustav Isaksen, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru all got on the scoresheet as Lazio returned from Turin with a 3-0 victory. This was certainly the team's best result of the season, especially considering the size of the opponent.
In his post-match interviews (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Gattuso expressed his delight with the team, taking great pleasure in their ability to overcome the odds after being tipped to fight for relegation by some observers at the start of the season.
We're not looking at the league table. We have to keep working hard and maintain the right mentality. I've seen a lot in this game, and we have a clear path to follow: work. People were writing us off as dead and saying we would be fighting relegation. But our path was the right one, and the players believed in it. We'll see where we end up.We like to press our opponents, get tight to our markers and play offensively. That brings benefits. We can't sit back and manage games; we have to keep pressing forward aggressively. On a personal level, it's a pleasure to work with these players, too.
The Calabrian admits that he almost gave up on coaching at one point during his career, but he has now found internal serenity.

Lazio stunned Juventus with a 3-0 victory at the Allianz Stadium yesterday, exposing the work still required for the Bianconeri to find consistency. The defeat was a major setback for Juventus, who had hoped to build on their late victory against Celta Vigo and deliver another strong performance in front of their home supporters.
Juventus were expected to be the stronger side after their European success, but they struggled to maintain their momentum. Without Luciano Spalletti on the touchline to direct the team, the Bianconeri found it difficult to control the contest and prevent Lazio from taking advantage of their opportunities.
Unlike in some of their recent matches, Juventus began with plenty of energy and intent. However, Lazio matched their intensity, making the opening stages an open and frantic contest in which both teams looked capable of creating danger.
Randal Kolo Muani appeared to have given Juventus the lead when he found the net, but his effort was ruled out for offside. Lazio then took their opportunity through Oliver Provstgaard, whose goal stood and put the visitors ahead.
Juventus gradually lost their momentum as the first half progressed, allowing Lazio to take greater control of the match. The home side struggled to regain the initiative, leaving them with plenty to address at the interval as they searched for a way back into the contest.

Juventus were soundly beaten in an embarrassing 3-0 victory at home against Lazio on Sunday evening, and to make matters worse for the Bianconeri, Francisco Conceicao is now looking at up to a month on the sidelines as the club fear he has suffered a dislocated shoulder.
Goals from Oliver Provstgaard, Gustav Isaksen and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru gave Lazio a 3-0 victory away against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night, which has sent Gennaro Gattuso's side back to the top of the Serie A standings along with Inter, while the Bianconeri sit eight points off the lead after seven league games in 2026-27.

This result leaves Juventus in a worse position after seven matches of the 2026-27 season than they were at the same stage last year, just before previous head coach Igor Tudor was given his marching orders.
To make matters worse, the club are concerned that Conceicao has dislocated his shoulder, according to Monday's reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The official Serie A YouTube channel uploaded the highlights from Sunday's big showdown between Juventus and Lazio.
The first half didn't have too many major scoring opportunities, but the Biancocelesti came close at the half-hour mark through Gustav Isaksen, who tried to find the far corner with a sailing header but couldn't hit the target.
A few minutes later, Lazio got the breakthrough courtesy of an unlikely source, as Oliver Provstgaard headed home his first goal for the club after getting on the end of a glorious cross from his captain Mattia Zaccagni. Nuno Tavares almost scored from a deflected strike, but the ball ricocheted off the woodwork.
After the break, Randal Kolo Muani skipped past Josip Sutlo to present Nick Woltemade with an inviting opportunity to net the equaliser, but the Juventus substitute couldn't hit the target. At the other end of the pitch, Nuno Tavares found Isaksen with a wonderful cross-field pass, and the Danish winger cut past Zeki Celik and put the ball past Guglielmo Vicario to double Lazio's lead.

On Saturday, Lazio will be aiming to preserve their perfect Serie A record when they host fellow undefeated AC Milan.
This will be Gennaro Gattuso's biggest test to date as Biancocelesti manager, as he prepares to host the club he called home for 14 years. The Calabrian will be engaged in a thrilling tactical battle against his opposite number Ruben Amorim, who is enjoying a positive start to his maiden year in Italian football. Nevertheless, the outcome will be determined by the 22 men on the pitch.
Hence, it's time to take a closer look at some of the most interesting duels that are expected to take place all over the pitch when Lazio and Milan lock horns at the Stadio Olimpico.
Among Lazio's seven summer signings, Danilho Doekhi was probably the least exciting arrival, as the fanbase was quick to label him as a depth player rather than a protagonist. Perhaps this will be the case once Josip Sutalo is up and running, but in the meantime, the Dutchman has been solid at the back, forming a good understanding with Oliver Provstgaard.

Lazio head coach Gennaro Gattuso will reportedly make a trio of changes to his starting lineup when they host Genoa on Sunday, including two compulsory ones.
The Biancocelesti began their Serie A campaign with an away victory in Bologna thanks to Davide Frattesi's solitary strike. The Italian midfielder came off the bench to replace the injured Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. The manager also had to make another compulsory change during the match, bring in Romano Floriani Mussolini for Adam Marusic.
With both players expected to remain on the sidelines for at least 20 days, Frattesi and Floriani Mussolini will be making their first starts of the season. The Inter Milan loanee will join Kenneth Taylor and Nicolo in the midfield trio, while Floriani Mussolini will slot in at right-back, with the rest of the defence remaining intact with Danilo Doekhi, Oliver Provstgaard, and Alfonso Pedraza.
In attack, Sky Sport Italia and La Lazio Siamo Noi expect a third change to take place, with Gustav Isaksen dropping Matteo Cancellieri to the bench. The Dane missed the entire pre-season while recovering from groin surgery, but made his return in the second half at the Renato Dall'Ara and was considered an upgrade on his Italian teammate.

After earning a cameo in the Coppa Italia defeat to Mantova, Davide Frattesi is expected to make his full Lazio debut against Bologna.
The Biancocelesti travelled to Emilia-Romagna for their first match of the Serie A campaign. The contest will take place on Monday, 18:30 local time. Gennaro Gattuso's squad has been boosted by the returns of Alessio Romagnoli, Gustav Isaksen, and Nuno Tavares, while Danilo Cataldi, Samuel Gigot, Patric, and new signing Josip Sutalo are unavailable.
According to the most reliable sources in the Italian media, Frattesi will earn his first start, dropping Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to the bench. The Nigerian was arguably the best of a poor bunch against Mantova, but he will be the one to make way, as Gattuso is unlikely to chop Kenneth Taylor at this early stage of the season, despite his unconvincing summer displays.
Nicolo Rovella is the only natural option for the Regista role, while the backline should remain intact, with Adam Marusic, Danilho Doekhi, Oliver Provstgaard, and Alfonso Pedraza starting in front of Christos Mandas.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Matteo Cancellieri will keep his place in the attacking trident alongside Boulaye Dia and Mattia Zaccagni. On the other hand, Sky Sport Italia believes Tijjani Noslin will replace the Italian winger on the right flank.

Lazio have reportedly secured the services of Croatian defender Josip Sutalo after reaching a full accord with Ajax.
This has been an eventful day for the Biancocelesti, who were supposed to complete the signing of Senegalese striker Bamba Dieng on a free transfer, but the deal has been called off due to a failed medical. But while Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani are back to square one on the attacking front, they have apparently solved their defensive dilemma.
According to multiple sources in the Italian media, including Gianluca Di Marzio, Fabrizio Romano, and Damiano Er Faina, Lazio and Ajax have reached a final agreement on Sutalo's transfer. The 26-year-old will join the Italian capital side on an initial loan for €3 million with an option to buy set at €7.5 million, while the Amsterdam-based giants would receive a 10% cut in case of a future resale.
Sutalo is a Dynamo Zagreb youth product who climbed his way up the ranks to become a stalwart for both club and country. In 2023, he earned a €20 million move to Ajax and went on to make 108 appearances for the Dutch club.
The Croatian international will join a centre-back department that includes Oliver Provstgaard and fellow new signing Danilho Doekhi, while Alessio Romagnoli's fate remains undecided, and Patric and Samuel Gigot are dealing with career-threatening long-term injuries.

Brighton centre-back Diego Coppola won't be signing for Lazio this summer, but will instead rejoin Paris FC.
The Biancocelesti have agreed to sell Alessio Romagnoli to Al-Sadd and Mario Gila to AC Milan. Therefore, they must buy at least one new centre-back to join Oliver Provstgaard, Patric and Samuel Gigot in the defensive department.
Over the past few weeks, Coppola was one of the main names on Lazio's shortlist, and he was said to be keen to reunite with his former national team coach, Gennaro Gattuso. The 22-year-old has been a target for the Aquile since his days at **** as Verona. Last summer, he signed for Brighton on a £10 million deal, but it didn't pan out as planned.
After struggling to adapt to his new surroundings, the Italian international spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Paris FC, where he managed to establish himself as a regular starter.
According to Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari, the French capital club has secured an agreement with Brighton for Coppola's permanent transfer, thus closing the door on a potential move to Lazio.

Lazio are planning to sign at least one new centre-back this summer, and the top priority remains Sergi Dominguez.
The Biancocelesti have reportedly agreed to sell Alessio Romagnoli to Al-Sadd, while Napoli and Atalanta are vying for Mario Gila’s signature. These two potential departures will spark a defensive revamp at Formello. While the left-footed Oliver Provstgaard is expected to step into a starting role, the management still has to recruit a right-footed defender.
While some reports have identified Brighton’s Diego Coppola as the most plausible target due to his affordable cost, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla insists that Dominguez remains the ultimate target. The 21-year-old is a Spanish defender who rose through Barcelona’s ranks before signing for Dinamo Zagreb last summer.
Dominguez immediately established himself as a protagonist at the back for the Croatian giants, helping them clinch the domestic double last season. His price tag has thus exceeded €10 million. While Lazio no longer have to worry about Tottenham Hotspur, who pulled out of the race, other Premier League clubs could enter the fray.
Pedulla insists the Biancocelesti won’t be able to make a move for Dominguez before cashing in on Gila. After all, they have been restricted to a net-zero transfer campaign, so they can only raise funds by selling players.

After spending the 2025/26 season on loan at Grasshopper Club Zürich, Jonathan Asp Jensen is expected to leave Bayern Munich on a permanent basis this summer.
One possible destination is Lazio, with Danish outlet Bold reporting that the 20-year-old is in talks with the Serie A club over a potential summer switch.
Clubs from Germany, France, Switzerland and England have also enquired about the young midfielder, the report claims.
At Lazio, Asp Jensen could join up with two other Danish players, Gustav Isaksen and Oliver Provstgaard.
The 20-year-old is under contract with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2028.
