Another day down, and the Colts second training camp practice of the season in as many days. Only this time around, we arguably saw a crisper Daniel Jones among other tidbits from the day:

Shane Steichen was very pleased with what he saw from Daniel Jones during the Indianapolis Colts' first practice on Wednesday.
"I thought he looked really good," Steichen said after Day 1.
On Day 2 of training camp, Jones continued to build upon that initial performance.
Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan wrote that Jones was "very sharp" to begin Thursday's practice, starting the day 5-for-5. He was perfect during the 7-on-7 period as well.
Jake Arthur of Roundtable Sports noted that after Charvarius Ward and Sauce Gardner generated some pass breakups on Wednesday, Jones didn't shy away from either defender on Day 2, and completed "successful 10-plus-yard dig routes."

Jul. 30—VERMILLION, S.D. — Plenty of questions surround the University of South Dakota football's offense as the Coyotes officially opened fall camp Wednesday, July 29.
Who wins the starting quarterback job? Who are the five offensive linemen that will protect him? Which receivers emerge as the top targets? Who becomes the primary tight end?
But through all of the uncertainty, there is one position group that enters camp with absolutely no question marks: Running back.
If anything, the Coyotes may have the deepest and most talented running back room not only in the Missouri Valley Football Conference but across the entire FCS. While the offense develops a new quarterback, rebuilt offensive line and receiving corps, USD's experienced ball carriers are expected to shoulder much of the offensive load early in the season.
"If people are saying we're the best in the country, that just motivates us even more," USD running back Keyondray Jones-Logan said. "We never take a step backwards, and we are always fighting to be better each and every day. If everybody says we could be the best, let's prove we're the best."

The Nasdaq composite spiked up Thursday, with chip stocks a driver in the stock market's rebound from a sell-off in the previous session following the Federal Reserve's policy meeting. Chip equipment maker Lam Research (LRCX) shot higher on the stock market today on its raised outlook, while Meta Platforms (META) sank after its earnings report.
Near the end of the lunch hour in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose more than 500 points, or 1%. But a minority of the 30 stocks in the share-price-weighted index actually rose. Travelers (TRV) was the worst performer, falling 17 points, or 4%, to 371.75. The blue-chip index tumbled 2.1% on Wednesday. In Thursday's session, the S&P 500 reaccelerated its advance, rising 1.3% and not straying far from its intraday high of 7,417.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite, for now, was doing a better job of holding opening-hour gains than other indexes. It leaped 2.3%, adding to a jump of 1.7% minutes after the open. The composite index hit a session high of 25,112, up 8% for the year.
The Nasdaq-100 index picked up more than 3% following brutal sessions recently for memory and storage stocks. Lam shares on Thursday shot up 18%. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) climbed nearly 7%.

The Chicago Bears officially kicked off training camp with their first practice on Wednesday morning. While it was a shorter, lighter workout to open the summer, there were still plenty of notable headlines and standouts.
It wasn't an eventful first day of practice as the Bears conducted a light workout that didn't even last 90 minutes, but it's key to ramping up before pads come on next week. There wasn't a lot of notable takeaways, but there were updates amid position battles at nickel cornerback, left tackle, center and punt returner, as well as some early standouts on offense.

Battle at nickel cornerback: With Kyler Gordon sidelined, Chicago rotated several players at nickel during Wednesday's practice, where it was Jaylon Jones working with the starters for most of the workout. It's always interesting to see what Notre Dame football players do after their playing careers are over, and for one former running back, it's teaching the profession to high school athletes.
Tony Jones Jr. played a big role during his time in South Bend from 2016-2019, scoring 12 touchdowns while rushing for 1,481-yards with 273-yards receiving and two more scores. He'd go undrafted but played parts of seasons with five teams from 2020 through 2024, then played in the UFL and CFL earlier this year.
Jones didn't waste any time starting his new career, as it was announced earlier this week that he will be coaching the running backs for his high school alma mater, the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons. It will be quite the homecoming for him, as he returns to his former stomping grounds to help the young players learn what he has.
There is no doubt in my mind that Jones will do a great job, and hopefully moves up the coaching ranks quickly. At just 28-years old, he'll be at a fantastic place to start coaching.

The 2026 Carolina Panthers may just be snakebitten. Any lingering question about that was answered emphatically on Wednesday morning, when the team suffered their third injury in just their fifth day of training camp.
Last week, it was second-year outside linebacker Nic Scourton who went down with a season-ending ACL tear, followed by tight end Mitchell Evans getting carted off with an ankle sprain on Tuesday. And yesterday, it was rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell II, who was wheeled away with a moderate LCL tear.
Scourton is the biggest loss in the bunch—for now, at least—and his absence represents a devastating blow to a defense that could have taken a big step forward this season. With their rising star out, Carolina's pass rush has been ranked 31st in the NFL by CBS Sports.

A few factors are preventing the chip stock pullback from harming the broader market, according to Charles Schwab strategist Kevin Gordon. However, investors should be on the lookout for whether these trends reverse.
'You've got essentially two-thirds of S&P 500 companies that are trading above their 200-day moving average. That's relatively healthy and still consistent with the market that is more rotational in nature and not necessarily one that is correctional," Gordon said on Yahoo Finance's Opening Bid.

UFC star Jon Jones posted a video of him killing a pig in 2021 and that led allegedly to a long message from Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton.
Jones was living life after vacating his UFC light heavyweight ***** le at the time — and bulking up to eventually move to heavyweight — when he went on a helicopter ride to shoot at pigs alongside former rangers. Hamilton, who had just won just 7th world championship in Formula 1 months prior, apparently didn't like it.
"I went hunting years ago with bunch of army rangers, and we ended up hunting pigs from a helicopter from using AR-15s," Jones said in an interview with ALF Global. "I was so proud of myself 'cause I killed one of the pigs from the helicopter. My pig was donated to an underprivileged family in the community."
"But Lewis saw me shoot the pig from a helicopter," he continued. "He wrote me a long message saying that I was a coward, and that he thought that I was better than that. He said that the traditional way of killing animals should be with a spear or a bow and arrow. And he was saying like, only a coward would shoot an animal from an helicopter, to give the animal a chance to fight you back, at least."

The Dallas Cowboys held their annual pre-training camp opening press conference on Tuesday, with Jerry Jones, Brian Schottenheimer, and Stephen Jones taking to the podium like usual. For the first time in a long time, these heads of state for America's Team coming to the podium marked something significant before any of the three even said a word – the Cowboys have made it to the true ramp up for 2026 without any significant off the field drama, major contract disputes, or just Cowboys drama for the sake of drama.
The Cowboys' quiet offseason is hopefully just the start of a recipe for success in the regular season and beyond, but it became clear that the team's secret sauce they believe in is, in fact, the coaching across the board. Jerry seemed to understand that at this point in his ownership tenure the last thing any diehard fan wants to hear him talk about is his ability to select coaches. What fans have wanted to see is not only the right coaches in place, which the Cowboys will have to now prove once real practices begin Wednesday, but Jones and the rest of the front office giving whatever coaches are in place the freedom and **** e to hone in on the details of actually doing their jobs.
The Cowboys are doing that right now at a level that should excite fans considerably, and coach Schottenheimer started to get into this later on during opening remarks.
