The Green Bay Packers announced four roster moves ahead of the start of training camp, including a swap of international exemption players.
The team released kicker Lucas Havrisik and edge rusher Dante Barnett and signed tight end Thomas Yassmin and kicker Lenny Krieg on Tuesday.
The kicker swap means Krieg will now represent the competition for rookie Trey Smack, while the addition of Yassmin provides a healthy body at tight end, where the Packers are dealing with injuries to Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave (both on the PUP list) to start camp.
Krieg made a 57-yard field goal and his lone extra point attempt during the preseason with the Atlanta Falcons in 2025.
Yassmin, a former Rugby player, played 42 snaps during the preseason with the Denver Broncos in 2024 and 13 with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2025. He has never appeared in a regular season game.

The countdown until the 2026-27 college basketball season continues to roll on. As it stands now, we are just under 100 days until tipoff for the new campaign.
UNC is entering the first year of the Michael Malone era as he replaces Hubert Davis. Now, Malone has the task of turning this program around and getting it to where it needs to be. Malone and his staff have built the roster using returning players, the 2026 recruiting class, and a good transfer portal class.
UNC's backcourt should be strong, but there are some concerns regarding their height. The Tar Heels were able to add some frontcourt players, but it likely won't be a strength for them. CBS Sports **** yst Isaac Trotter wrote on the Tar Heels, and he has some concerns about their post depth:
I'm getting nervous about UNC's big man situation. 7-footer Sayon Keita is still not on campus as he wades through all the eligibility red tape. I'm in on Matt Able and freshman Maximo Adams, but UNC could have some hairy moments with this frontcourt. I think UNC is more of a top-30ish team than a top-15 unit nationally.
Trotter wrote that in the section of "teams he will be lower on than the consensus," and he mentions that he will have them as a top 30 team. Keita should be on campus soon as **** ysts have said they are not worried about his absence so far.

The Houston Rockets today announced they have signed free agent forward Julian Phillips. Phillips (6-8, 201) was the 35th overall pick by Boston in the 2023 NBA Draft following his freshman season at Tennessee. He spent his first two and a half seasons with Chicago before being acquired by Minnesota via trade on Feb. 5, 2026.

The Buffalo Bills are giving fans a new way to experience new Highmark Stadium. No game ticket required.
The team has opened the Highmark Trail, a 1.7-mile interactive walking loop around new Highmark Stadium featuring fitness challenges, photo opportunities and Bills-themed attractions. The trail is free and open to the public year-round.
"It's a path, but a path with purpose," Bills senior vice president of design Frank Cravotta said in a video unveiling the trail.
Beginning across from the Family Circle outside the stadium's north entrance on Abbott Road, the trail loops around the facility with blue mile markers tracking walkers' progress.
Along the way, fans can race a timed 40-yard dash, test their broad jump, warm up like the Bills and pose for photos inside a giant Bills helmet or with a "Buffalo Strong" powerlifting display featuring a bent barbell.

The Detroit Lions have no shortage of intriguing position battles heading into training camp, but few are more important than determining who will start opposite D.J. Reed when the regular season kicks off.
What looked like a settled position just a few months ago was thrown into complete uncertainty when former first-round pick Terrion Arnold was released in June following his arrest on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping.
Now, one of the most wide-open competitions on Detroit's roster is underway.
During organized team activities and mandatory minicamp, Ennis Rakestraw Jr. and veteran Rock Ya-Sin each received opportunities with the first-team defense.
However, head coach Dan Campbell was quick to caution against reading too much into those early rotations.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Rookie defender Elías Báez and Miguel Almirón scored second-half goals and Atlanta United rallied for a 2-2 draw with Charlotte FC on Wednesday night.
Kerwin Vargas staked Charlotte (6-6-4) to a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute, scoring for the third time this season when Lucas Hoyos blocked but couldn't corral a shot by Archie Goodwin.
Liel Abada used **** ists from Pep Biel and Ashley Westwood in the 45th minute to score his first goal of the campaign on a header and Charlotte took a 2-0 lead into halftime. It was the seventh **** ist for Biel and the sixth for Westwood.
Báez scored his first career goal 12 minutes into the second half to get Atlanta United (3-10-3) within a goal. Tomás Jacobs, another rookie defender, notched his first **** ist and Fafà Picault collected his second.
Almirón tied it 2-all when he scored for the first time this season — unassisted in the 76th minute.

Dricus Du Plessis' coach disagrees with Kamaru Usman's complaints throughout the UFC Fight Night 281 headliner.
Du Plessis (24-3 MMA, 10-1 UFC) gave Usman all he could handle on the feet this past Saturday at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. Usman (21-5 MMA, 16-4 UFC) was badly hurt on multiple occasions, but Morne Visser revealed the strategy was not to hunt for the finish.
Usman asked the referee to intervene during the fight when claiming that he was poked in the eye then later struck with a low blow.
"The game plan was 100 percent to completely stay composed, and that's what (Du Plessis) did," Visser told Submission Radio. "Obviously he listens very well to me, so I've never ever pushed him through the whole fight to push for the finish. I saw that Kamaru does recover very quickly after getting hit that hard and punched that hard in the face. I mean, he was out a couple of times on his feet, but I shouted very loudly to Dricus just to stay composed and pick the shots because a guy who recovers that quickly is dangerous. He's desperate.
"So, I am super, super happy with our results. I think this is the best I've seen Dricus ever or the world has seen him ever. This was a high-pressure fight. I mean, this was our comeback fight after 10, 11 months off. So, I'm very happy. And he listened. We never pushed for anything. We never pushed once for the finish, not even once. I mean, you saw Kamaru complaining about a low blow and the thumb or the finger, all nonsense. Dricus could have finished him there, but he was just not pushing. He was just respectful."

The San Antonio Spurs guard has teamed up with Under Armour and Sharpie on a special Fox 2 colorway featuring hand-drawn artwork inspired by the people, memories and moments that have shaped his life.
The Sharpie x Under Armour Fox 2 will be released July 23 for $130.
Rather than designing just another colorway, Fox said he wanted the sneaker to reflect who he is.
"Some of the sketches on here - you see the fox, obviously, playing off my last name. My logo's in it, basketball, Swiper," Fox said.

Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles has faced serious adversity throughout his nine-year career. From being one of the most penalized tackles in the NFL at the beginning of his career to his outstanding 2025 campaign, Bolles has earned his spot among the best protectors in the NFL.
Each year, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler surveys NFL executives, coaches and scouts to rank the top 10 offensive tackles in the NFL, and Bolles appeared on the list for the first time this offseason, coming in at No. 10.
"Bolles hadn't gained much traction in the top 10 series before, but his career performance in 2025 turned some heads," Fowler wrote for ESPN. Bolles was credited with allowing zero sacks in 2025 (per Pro Football Focus), earning his first Pro Bowl appearance and the first first-team All-Pro nod of his career. Bolles also made the list for ESPN's All-Pro team, was named PFF's Pass Blocker of the Year, and was a finalist for the NFL's first Protector of the Year award.
"Pass protection, he's one of the most consistent," an NFL coordinator told Fowler. "He can handle his own without help. He was a big part of the Broncos' success on offense last year."
Bolles has endeared himself to Broncos Country through his play and community efforts, but now, he seeks the ******* le that has eluded him thus far: Super Bowl champion.

Michael Porter Jr. signed a huge five-year extension with the Denver Nuggets back in 2022, and now, he is entering the final year of that deal. Of course, Porter is now with the Brooklyn Nets, which has now led to people questioning if he will stay with the Nets.
Porter was excellent during the 2025-26 season, cementing himself as a high-level offensive player after averaging 24.2 points per game. Since he is the type of player who can be plugged into any system, the Nets would benefit from extending his contract.
As one of the league's best shooters, Porter can always help a team succeed. That was what he did in Denver as the third option behind Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. It ended up with him being a champion, but it seems he is happy he got the move to Brooklyn.
It is an interesting situation because Porter seems happy in Brooklyn, but he does not have a longer-term contract with the team just yet. General manager Sean Marks seems ready for the challenge to extend him, but the talks have not started.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts spoke about the status of superstar Shohei Ohtani, who is currently enjoying a break at home before the start of the post-All-Star break run.
Ohtani had fluid drained from his left knee on Sunday afternoon, following a game in which he hit a home run in a losing effort against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
He went 2-for-4 at the plate on Sunday, which included a double as well. His hitting has not been affected by his knee injury, but rather, his pitching is the main point of contention.
His left leg is the landing leg in his pitch delivery, meaning he will end up landing on it over 100 times per pitching start, not even including all of the bullpen sessions and warm-up routines.
Rather than make his last scheduled start on Friday before the All-Star game, Ohtani opted to just hit in the lineup and not pitch until after the break.

Over the weekend, Pirates outfielder Esmerlyn Valdez created a unique slice of MLB doubleheader history at PNC Park.
After clubbing clinching home runs in Games 1 and 2 of Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Brewers, Valdez became the league's first player to compile four go-ahead hits, including three go-ahead homers, during a twin bill.
In the opener, Valdez launched two homers and drove in a career-best six runs, powering the 7-6 win. The cleanup hitter for much of July, Valdez started the scoring with an RBI single, driving in Jake Mangum, who was hit by Brandon Sproat's 97-mph four-seam fastball.
Breaking a 2-2 tie in the third, the 22-year-old slugger connected on a 421-foot solo homer, and Sproat exited the game after just three innings of work.

The Minnesota Twins are not having the season many might've expected coming into the year. Instead of sitting at the bottom of the AL Central and looking like one of the worst teams in the league, the Twins are in the thick of the postseason hunt.
Sitting at 47-49, the Twins are right in lock-step with the Seattle Mariners for the third and final AL Wild Card spot, and they're only 3.0 games back in the AL Central. This team might not sell; they could be deadline buyers.
Amid such a potential plan for the Twins, USA Today's Bob Nightengale is reporting that the Twins have "no interest" in trading away a key trade chip in Ryan Jeffers this summer, despite plenty of interest from around the league.
"... and the Twins have no interest in trading Jeffers unless they fall out of the mediocre AL Central race, hanging just 2 games back," Nightengale writes.

With each passing day, it looks increasingly unlikely that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk will end up with the Washington Commanders. Well, at least in 2026, anyway. Washington has long been Aiyuk's preferred destination once his release from San Francisco became official. However, Aiyuk has yet to apply for reinstatement and has declared he will not report to the team for training camp. That means the 49ers are under no obligation to release him.
With or without Aiyuk, the Commanders could use another veteran starting receiver opposite Terry McLaurin. Deebo Samuel remains available. As does Tyreek Hill. But that name most **** ociated with the Commanders is four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs. Diggs, a DMV native, hasn't hidden his desire to return to the region and play for his hometown team.
Earlier this offseason, Diggs posted a message to all NFL teams on his Instagram account, prompting Commanders edge rusher Charles Omenihu to comment, "Burgundy & gold."
Omenihu isn't the only Commanders defender trying to recruit Diggs to Washington. When Diggs posted a workout video on his Instagram recently, another Washington newcomer, linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson, posted a similar comment. Diggs responded.
It's worth noting that Diggs and Chaisson were teammates with the AFC champion New England Patriots last season.
