Gabriel Bonfim is trying to remain positive after his UFC Fight Night 293 main event was canceled nine days out.
With Sean Brady out due to a staph infection, Bonfim (20-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) posted a short statement on Instagram hours after the news broke on Thursday. The welterweight bout was expected to headline the Nov. 7 card at Meta APEX.
"As some of you already know, my fight was canceled," Bonfim said in Portuguese. "Sean Brady is out of the fight. He says he got injured. A week before the fight, he tells us he got injured. You can't really understand it, right? But God knows all things and we keep moving forward. And on Nov. 7th I won't be fighting, unfortunately. Unfortunately I won't be fighting. But I believe there will be news coming soon and we keep going. The goal is just one: to be champion and we keep pushing. Thanks, thanks everyone, appreciate it."

Sean Brady won't be competing in the main event of UFC Fight Night 293 due to a gnarly knee injury that forced him to stay in the hospital for multiple days.
Brady (19-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) was set to face Gabriel Bonfim in the Nov. 7 headliner at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, but was forced out due to an infection and fluid buildup in his knee. The welterweight contender hopes to keep the matchup with Bonfim (20-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) together, but isn't certain what will happen just yet.
Brady detailed the reasons for the fight's cancellation on "The BradyBags Show".
"So last week, Tuesday, I practiced in the morning," Brady explained. "Everything was going completely fine. By nighttime, I was going to do my next workout. I jumped on my bike. My knee was a little bit swollen afterwards. By 9 o'clock at night, I couldn't walk. So, that's Tuesday. Wednesday morning, I already knew because I've been in this situation before, like I've dealt with bursitis and sh*t, and I knew this wasn't bursitis – I knew it was an infection.
"So, I knew right away from dealing with my arm and my leg, the feeling that you get, it's just different. It's just a different pain. Like, I could barely walk. So, Wednesday morning, 6 a.m., first thing I do, I got to the hospital, and they start drawing blood, doing everything. They put me on IV antibiotics."

UFC Fight Night 293 has a new main event.
Heavyweights Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker will collide in the Nov. 7 main event at Meta APEX in Las Vegas. The original main event was to be a welterweight matchup between Sean Brady and Gabriel Bonfim, but it was canceled due to injury.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. The news was first reported by Laerte Viana.
It's not the first time Cortes-Acosta (17-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) has stepped in on short notice for the promotion. In November 2025, he traveled from Arizona to Qatar on three days' notice and finished Shamil Gaziev in 88 seconds. This time, Cortes-Acosta aims to snap a two-fight skid after back-to-back unanimous decision losses against Alexander Volkov and Curtis Blaydes.
Walker (23-10 MMA, 9-7 UFC) is 2-1 in his most recent three outings and is coming off a terrifyingly brutal first-round knee knockout on Oct. 3 vs. Mick Parkin. The win was his UFC heavyweight debut and bounced him back from a split decision loss to Dominick Reyes.

Charlize Theron leaned into the age-old color-blocking trend for her latest public appearance in a Givenchy outfit. "The Odyssey" star accepted the Award of Inspiration at the amfAR Dallas 2026 on October 24. She looked stunning as ever in the outfit that blended deconstructed athletic wear and avant-garde tailoring.
For the amfAR Dallas 2026, Charlize Theron pulled an outfit straight from the runway. She was wearing a red-and-black color-blocked look from Givenchy's Spring 2027 Ready-to-Wear collection. It featured a fitted, finely ribbed black tank top with a classic scoop neckline. The top had double-strap detailing along the shoulders, creating subtle cutouts. Further, vivid red contrast binding along the neck and armholes framed her upper torso with crisp, geometric energy.
The lower half of the look transitioned into wide-leg trousers featuring a unique architectural drape. A wrapped, jacket-like layer folded downward over the hips. This inverted upper structure featured structured lapels trimmed in matching crimson piping, creating a layered trompe-l'œil effect. The voluminous folds added an intentional sense of asymmetry and rich textural depth to the otherwise minimalist black base.
A black leather belt with an oversized, round metallic disc buckle brought a hardware element that drew the eye straight to her waist. Further, Theron's beauty styling kept the spotlight firmly on the outfit's strong lines and interesting palette. She wore her blonde hair in an edgy, wet-look short crop. Soft, side-swept tendrils casually framed one side of her face while the rest was slicked back cleanly.
The Academy Award winner's makeup was minimal but striking, featuring a matte complexion, defined eyes, light pink blush on her cheeks, and a neutral, rosy-nude lip. She wore a stack of silver earrings that framed her face without distracting from her outfit. Black leather open-toe mules peeked from underneath her trousers, maintaining the dark color palette.

PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) — President Donald Trump intensified his anti-Muslim rhetoric against Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed on Sunday, portraying him as a threat to national security and questioning his loyalty to the United States in remarks that drew a sharp rebuke from a former top Arab American ally.
Trump called El-Sayed, a former Detroit health official, a "jihadist" who was "on the side of the terrorists" and would "have to go through a metal detector before he's allowed to go into the Senate." He also repeatedly invoked the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, drawing a comparison between stopping El-Sayed from entering the Senate chamber and the passengers who fought back against the hijackers aboard United Flight 93.
El-Sayed, who would become the nation's first Muslim senator if elected, has called attacks on his loyalty to the country "shameful" and repeatedly denied any ties to extremist groups. The Republican president's remarks were condemned by Bishara Bahbah, a founder of Arab Americans for Trump, the group that helped lead the president's outreach to Arab American voters in 2024.
"The president's statements are out of line," he said in a phone interview. "They are crossing a red line. They are racist."
With Republicans on the defensive over inflation, soaring fuel prices and the Iran war, the president has been trying to generate turnout by claiming that El-Sayed and other Democrats are existential threats to America, instead of electoral rivals. Michigan's Senate race between El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers is among a handful of contests that could determine control of the chamber.

HUDSON – Dozens of black jerseys file through the home stands at Thompson Field on a cold, rainy October night. Hundreds of cleats clatter against the metal bleachers below, adding to the pounding drums of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck."
As players breach the open gate leading to the field, they extend their arms to reach a banner hanging overhead. A brisk wind ripples the vinyl above, but one word printed in block letters remains legible — "TRADITION"
One of Hudson's oldest traditions is about to take place. Everyone in the stadium knows what happens next. Rudy Ramos, age 77, raises his flag into the air, ready to lead the Tigers into battle, as he's done for more than 30 years.
It started with a simple request.
In 1989, Ramos accepted a job with an insurance company that relocated him from his hometown of Marshall, Michigan to nearby Hudson. He knew about the small city on the outskirts of Lenawee County; after all, almost every sports fan in the state who was alive during the 1970s did.

Skarsgård, who is never afraid to take fashion risks, looked like the epitome of the Hollywood golden boy in a gold metallic Saint Laurent suit, styling the jacket without a shirt, and topping it off with the brand's lucite elongated-toe derby shoes, which showed off the star's full feet. The actor stood out from his "Wicker" co-stars Peter ******* lage, Elizabeth Debicki and Olivia Colman, who chose simple all-black looks.

Kids today might know Matthew Modine best for his role as Dr Brenner in Stranger Things but the star got his start back in the '80s with hits like Full Metal Jacket (1987). The actor has appeared in not one but two Christopher Nolan classics, The Dark Knight Rises and Oppenheimer, so we'd recommend digging back into his filmography.
Before you swap over to your TV screen, catch up on what the actor has been doing since he worked with Nicolas Cage and the successful lives of his wife and two kids below.
Caridad met while Matthew was working as a chef in New York
Matthew's long-term wife Caridad Rivera was born in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and is of Puerto Rican descent. She works as a makeup and wardrobe artist. Caridad and husband Matthew are still going strong four decades in.
The actor told Closer Weekly: "I'd been in a few relationships and wanted someone to be friends with. What's most important is to have a partner you share interests with, who challenges you, who is smarter than you." He added: "Then the physical side is a bonus. I hit the jackpot and got both!

President Donald Trump's portfolio managers bought as much as $30 million in Meta stock and ******* eX debt in August as purchases made in his name continue to be highly active.
A newly released financial disclosure shows more than 500 securities transactions in August, including up to $25 million in Meta stock and $5 million in ******* eX debt. Democrats have criticized moves made by the president's portfolio managers in the past. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Robert Garcia sent a lengthy letter to Trump in August, saying they want to know who are the money managers in charge of his investments.
"One ******* ysis estimates that you reported more than 14,000 stock trades, worth up to $1.06 billion during your first year in office. The total is likely higher as these reports don't even include transactions worth less than one thousand dollars," reads a passage of the letter.

Ukraine on Thursday accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians after 30 people were killed when two buses were blown up in the frontline city of Kramatorsk, in one of the deadliest single attacks for weeks.
Photos posted by local authorities showed the burnt-out metal shell of the vehicles, with the blurred-out images of bodies and debris strewn across the road.
Police said the buses were hit with a glide bomb.
The strikes come just a day after five children were among 22 killed when a Russian missile struck a five-storey apartment block in Pryluky, in the northern Chernigiv region.
"The Russians are deliberately targeting civilians," Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin said, accusing Moscow of flouting "every conceivable rule of warfare and norm of international humanitarian law".

Stocks are doing something that normally should not happen at the same time.
Major indexes keep closing at record highs even as Treasury yields climb to levels not seen in over two decades. That combination has traditionally meant trouble for expensive growth stocks, not fresh records.
Jim Cramer says there is a clear explanation for the disconnect. It comes down to just three companies carrying far more weight than their size alone would suggest.

"Mad Money" host Jim Cramer said Nvidia, Microsoft and Meta are propping up the broader market even as surging Treasury yields pressure nearly everything else on Wall Street. "Here, I think there's tremendous distortion caused by some very big winners, namely Nvidia, Microsoft and Meta," he said.

"Rocky" franchise star Dolph Lundgren was considering ending his life after a years-long battle with kidney cancer. Then a doctor "saved" his life by discovering a misdiagnosis had led to ineffective treatment.
The Swedish action star, 68, revealed in 2023 that he had been diagnosed with cancer eight years prior and that he'd been given a few years left to live after finding it had metastasized to other parts of his body. However, a review by another doctor's team led to the revelation that his cells showed a mutation commonly found in lung cancer patients.
Now, with his memoir, "Fights Worth Fighting: Finding Strength in Struggle," recently published and a documentary, "Dolph: Unbreakable," due for digital release, he is opening up about the highs and lows he's experienced since his 2015 diagnosis.
In a Us Weekly interview published Oct. 6, "The Expendables" actor explained that obtaining a second opinion "saved my life," adding that "I wouldn't have been sitting here right now" if his oncologist, Dr. Alexandra Drakaki, had not caught his misdiagnosis.
When he switched to a new medication, he felt "relief that it started working quite quickly."

Oracle, Microsoft, and Amazon helped push hyperscaler capex past $400 billion in 2025, a figure that exceeded combined operating cash flow for the first time.
Meta and Alphabet fund an AI buildout projected at $9 trillion through 2032, averaging 3.22% of GDP and topping railroads' historic 2.24% share.

Railroads made Cornelius Vanderbilt America's richest person by the 1860s, dying in 1877 with an estate estimated at $95 million to $105 million, larger than U.S. Treasury holdings. By share of GDP, Vanderbilt places third among the richest Americans, behind Rockefeller and Carnegie. Within years, his industry's financing gave way, a warning for today's AI expansion.
The rail network doubled from 35,000 to 70,000 miles between 1865 and 1872, with bonds financing more than three-quarters of it. On September 18, 1873, Jay Cooke's bank failed. The New York Stock Exchange closed for ten days, its first closure ever.

Julianne Hough infused her sartorial agenda with a touch of metallic glitz and a whole load of hair extensions this week. The Dancing with the Stars host was clearly feeling nostalgic for the noughties as she referenced Mariah Carey's style archives during the show's theme night dedicated to the singer's discography.
The host wore a vintage Roberto Cavalli silver mini dress that was originally worn by Mariah Carey in 2008. Julianne's stylist, Brad Goreski, sourced the piece on The RealReal. "He was like, 'It might not be in that great of a condition,'" she shared. But once it arrived, she saw it was in "pristine" condition.
The metallic number features a sleeveless design with a plunging neckline and figure-hugging silhouette. The garment is embellished with intricate silver accents that glisten in the light.

"We've definitely had more fun, and it's been playful," Julianne shared of her DWTS season 35 looks. "This dress would probably be something that I would look at and be like, 'I'm not wearing that.' But because it's Mariah Carey, she wore it. It's like a literal disco ball; we were like, 'This is perfection.'"

Jim Cramer has built a career on conviction calls, and few have been more consistent than his faith in Amazon (AMZN). For years, the Mad Money host has treated the retail giant as close to untouchable. A permanent fixture in nearly every portfolio he recommends.
That changed, briefly and publicly, after watching a rival's AI demo live on air. Here is what Cramer actually said, the stock moves that gave his comment real weight, and what it all means for anyone holding either name heading into the rest of the year.
Also read: Jim Cramer noticed something odd about the stock market
Cramer made the comment live on CNBC's Squawk on the Street on September 28, after watching a demonstration of Meta's (META) new AI shopping capability. "I'm an Amazon guy, but maybe I shouldn't be. This seemed impressive," he said, speaking as a shopper describing his own buying habits rather than making a stock call.
The timing gave the remark unusual weight. Meta shares had climbed roughly 24% over the prior month. Amazon fell roughly 8% over the same stretch. Investors were already debating which company was winning the fight for online shoppers before Cramer weighed in.

In late September 2026, Huntington Ingalls Industries' Newport News Shipbuilding division secured a US$5.10 billion contract to conduct the refueling and complex overhaul of USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), while also advancing carrier programs and expanding unmanned production capacity across its U.S. facilities.
Together with the Navy order for 10 ROMULUS unmanned surface vessels and the Pocasset unmanned systems campus expansion, these developments highlight how HII is tying long-duration carrier work to growing autonomous maritime capabilities within its Mission Technologies division.
We'll now examine how the Truman overhaul award, alongside new ROMULUS unmanned vessel production, could influence Huntington Ingalls Industries' investment narrative.
Rare earth metals are an input to most high-tech devices, military and defence systems and electric vehicles. The global race is on to secure supply of these critical minerals. Beat the pack to uncover the 33 best rare earth metal stocks of the very few that mine this essential strategic resource.
To own Huntington Ingalls Industries, you need to believe that its multi decade carrier, submarine and unmanned systems backlog can be converted into steadier margins and free cash flow despite current back end loaded cash expectations. The Truman refueling and complex overhaul award reinforces that backlog, but does not remove the near term risk that 2026 free cash flow could miss if contract advances or tax benefits arrive later or smaller than management hopes.

Oct 6 (Reuters) - Governments, courts and companies are considering restrictions and examining existing rules on smart glasses amid worries that the technology, brought to mainstream by Meta's Ray-Bans, could be used to photograph, film or audio-record confidential materials or people without their knowledge.
Here is a summary of what countries and regions are doing to protect people's privacy, in alphabetical order.
AUSTRALIA
The federal government said in September it was considering barring the use of camera-equipped smart glasses in government workplaces due to privacy and security concerns.
Public Service Minister Katy Gallagher asked the country's Public Service Commission for advice on whether their use should be prohibited and what exemptions might be required.

Tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across France on Tuesday, as unions and teachers joined high school students who for days have been demanding better learning conditions in protests punctuated by violent confrontations.
Students have blocked the entrances to hundreds of high schools for 15- to 17-year-olds since late September, complaining of missing teachers, overloaded timetables, dilapidated classrooms and buildings that cannot cope with rising temperatures.
Unions, rights groups and the children have accused the authorities of using disproportionate force -- a police stun grenade tore the hand off one teenager on Monday and another youngster had his teeth knocked out last week after police fired a grenade launcher at his head.
"I'm afraid for my future," Selma, 15, told AFP without giving her surname, among the thousands marching in the country's second largest city of Marseille.
The unrest has erupted with just months to go before the 2027 election to choose a successor to centrist President Emmanuel Macron, with far-right veteran candidate Marine Le Pen riding high in the polls despite a graft conviction.

Usha Vance experienced a terrifying moment on October 5 when she stepped off a helicopter at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
The Second Lady nearly stumbled down the aircraft's metal steps while carrying her baby boy, Alec, who was securely strapped to her chest in a carrier.
The scary incident unfolded as Usha — who was accompanied by her family — prepared to board a flight to Alaska where the Vice President, JD Vance will speak at a Republican National Committee rally in support of Senator Dan Sullivan.
Usha suffered a close-call
She was juggling her two-month-old infant alongside a large bag when she appeared to lose her footing near the bottom of the staircase.

The shrapnel hit Army Lt. Col. Arturo Lincón's body like shattered glass.
One chunk of metal lodged into the left side of his jaw. Another piece sliced through his salivary gland before bouncing off his jaw and piercing the back of his neck, severing an artery and embedding in a vertebra.
Lincón was among dozens of U.S. soldiers injured in an Iranian drone strike on March 1. The attack on the second day of the U.S. war with Iran killed six troops who were providing logistical support of critical supplies at Port Shuaiba in Kuwait.
Whether the military was properly prepared for treating its wounded has become a sharp point of contention. Soldiers and family members have told The ****** ociated Press of a failure to recognize the seriousness of injuries, a poor plan to get the wounded to hospitals and red tape that has hindered follow-up care. The Pentagon has said that the medical care was appropriate.
Nine U.S. service members who were wounded spoke to the AP on the record — rare for troops still in the Army — about what they describe as a medical system that left them in many ways fighting to get treatment on their own.

Ana de Armas brought dazzling high-fashion glamour to Paris as she attended the prestigious La Légion d'Honneur ceremony. The actress captivated onlookers by stepping out in an archival Louis Vuitton creation by Nicolas Ghesquière. Styled by Samantha McMillen, her shimmering look seamlessly blended rock-and-roll glam with classic French sophistication.
Ana de Armas selected a striking black sequin micro minidress from the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2015 runway collection. Designed by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, the archival garment featured a high rounded collar and structured shoulders.
Intricate lace-like sequin patterns covered the entire fabric, shimmering with every slight movement. Fitted long sleeves balanced the ultra-short hemline that barely skimmed her thighs. Thousands of delicate black sequins caught the room's warm lights, creating a dramatic metallic sheen.
Her expert beauty team complemented the bold dress with effortless styling choices. Stylist Samantha McMillen chose the vintage piece, while Owen Gould styled Ana's brunette hair in soft waves. Makeup artist Charlotte Prevel completed the look with a luminous complexion, subtle liner, and nude gloss.
The actress posed indoors before stepping out to the official Paris event. Standing near a tall glass door, she looked straight into the camera lens with calm confidence. Her reflection behind her showed off the snug fit and detailed craftsmanship from every angle.

Kim Kardashian is giving fans another glimpse into her latest fashion collaboration. The mogul shared a new video documenting a fitting for her upcoming capsule collection. Fans see her trying on pieces inside a dimly lit studio alongside the collection's designer. Naturally, the highlight was her strapless sequined minidress, a bold bronze-gold number that perfectly matched the shoot's moody, intimate mood.
In the clip, Kim Kardashian stands in a dressing room lined with clothing racks, trying on the finished look in real time. The post was captioned, "A collaboration built on shared language: the body as material."
For the fitting, Kardashian wore a strapless, sequined micro minidress in a warm bronze-gold tone. The fitted, bandage-style design featured horizontal ribbing that wrapped tightly around her torso. It boasted a sweetheart neckline, a mini-length hem, and an all-over metallic sheen. The dress highlighted her famous curves while fitting right into the collection's aesthetic.
Kardashian kept the rest of the look stripped back, skipping jewelry and accessories altogether. With nothing else competing for attention, the dress itself became the clear focal point of the clip. She wore her dark hair sleek and straight, leaving it loose to frame her face throughout the fitting. Her makeup stayed soft and natural, keeping the focus on the dress rather than a full glam beauty look. For Kardashian, it's a reminder that when it comes to this particular launch, the body truly is the material.
The strapless silhouette is free of accessories and distractions, allowing the dress's clinging shape to do all the talking. The clip comes as the capsule officially hits shelves, with the post confirming fans can now purchase the collection. With the capsule now live, the bronze-gold minidress offers an early preview of just how body-conscious the full collection is likely to run. The post offered fans a rawer, closer look at the collaboration than its earlier campaign imagery provided.
