It was a rough night for Kansas City Chiefs fans as they wrapped up a busy NFL Sunday by watching their team get stimied by the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. The Chiefs offense was unable to get anything going and had its worst offensive performance under Patrick Mahomes since 2021.

Freshman libero Gabi Rodriguez added another milestone to her impressive first season as No. 19 Texas A&M defeated Auburn on Sunday.
Rodriguez recorded 16 digs and a career-high 10 **** ists, marking her first double-double in college. Her performance helped the Aggies defeat the Tigers in four sets and end a three-match losing streak.

Sunday's 18-16 home loss to the Cardinals dropped the Rams to 2-4 and continued a start that has many people scratching their heads given how high the hopes were for the team heading into the season.
Everyone ******* ociated with the team is fielding questions about why things have gone so poorly, including running back Kyren Williams. Williams was asked about why he thinks the offense has been inconsistent from drive to drive over the first six weeks and he pointed to his role in his answer.
"I can't tell you, bro," Williams said, via Adam Grosbard of the Orange County Register. "Probably because I'm not out there."
Williams played 70 percent of the snaps in the first five games and he outsnapped Blake Corum 42-16 on Sunday while fielding 13 touches to 11 for Corum. Williams' workload is in line with last season, but down from its peak in 2024 and he's seeing fewer carries than at any point since he became a starter. He was asked if he'd like to see that change in the coming weeks.

Now in the AL Championship Series, an all-too-familiar — and all-too-unwelcome — lack of timely hitting has every ounce of the Guardians' weight again on their heels, with nowhere else to go but forward or home.
The Guardians lost 3-1 to the Rays in Game 5 of the ALCS, giving Tampa Bay a 3-2 series lead and putting the Rays on the brink of a World Series berth. Texas A&M took care of business in Week 7, earning its second shutout win of the season after defeating The Citadel 41-0 behind 264 rushing yards and three touchdowns from sophomore RB Jamarion Morrow. With freshman back KJ Edwards adding 116 rushing yards, the Aggie offense needs to keep a "ground and pound" approach, especially if redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed remains the starter.
On defense, Texas A&M didn't have to do much, as the Bulldogs barely attempted to throw the ball, running 47 times for 140 yards, resulting in a one-dimensional attack that didn't require defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill to scheme up pressure, just needing to stop the run and tackle in ******* e, which was accomplished.

It could be argued that, after falling to 2-4 and seeing many of the grand plans of this 2026 Dallas Cowboys team sit utterly deflated following a 23-13 loss to the Packers on Sunday night in Green Bay, coach Brian Schottenheimer was in an impossible situation. What to say to your NFL team, after a devastating loss in which you were dominated on both sides of the ball, in which any progress made on the defensive side of the ball in the second half was offset first by the defense's poor play in the first half and the offense's poor play overall?
But Schottenheimer did go to the podium for his press conference on Sunday night and was asked what he said to the team.
His message: "The effort is right, the fight is right, but mistakes are killing us. Repeating mistakes is not what we're about. But we've got to protect the football. Five turnovers in two games, not very good. Got to find the running game. That starts with myself and the offensive staff. Got to get off the field on third down on defense, whether that's penalties or losing 1-on-1s. So, we got to clean it up. Lost two games in a row, not playing well. Got to take a hard look at it. Starts with me."
It is hard to say that, given the level of talent on this team–on the offensive line, in the receiver's room, at quarterback, at running back–that mistakes alone are the problem. The Cowboys did play harder and more aggressively on Sunday in Green Bay, that was obvious. But that also raises the question of where that effort and aggressiveness was in Week 5 against the Buccaneers, as well as at other times this season?

After all, the expectations for the Heat are through the roof after they brought in two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo via a blockbuster trade. Antetokounmpo has had so much appreciation for the Heat's vaunted culture that landing in Miami was one of the main priorities for him this offseason — with his former team, the Milwaukee Bucks, doing him a service.
But at the end of the day, the Heat paid a heavy price to bring Antetokounmpo in. They parted ways with Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel'el Ware, and Kasparas Jakucionis to go along with three first-round picks (2026, 2031, and 2033), a first-round pick swap (2030), and a second-round pick (2033).
The Heat did a good enough job of replacing the depth they lost, as they added veterans Tim Hardaway Jr. and Klay Thompson to serve as floor-spacers in a Giannis-centric offense. Getting Bobby Portis back in the Giannis trade was also an underrated part of that transaction. In a way, the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the Buccaneers on Thursday night at home was not quite as bad a loss as what we saw on Sunday in Green Bay, at least from coach brian Schottenheimer's perspective. Sounds absurd, sure, given that the Cowboys lost to a previously winless team that was starting an undrafted rookie, Jalon Daniels, on their home field last week. But there was a chance that could be viewed as a one-off. There was a chance that could be rock bottom, and that the Cowboys could rebuild this season from there. Starting against the Packers at Lambeau Field.
Instead, what we saw on Sunday was confirmation of the worst fears that lingered from the Buccaneers game: That this team and its NFL Super Bowl aspirations had been broken in that loss, that something snapped and might not be able to be repaired. Because, though the defense played better on Sunday–after the first half, at least–the offense appeared beyond repair, a steep three-week drop that has seen Dak Prescott throw four interceptions in two games, after having thrown just four in nine games before that.

Notre Dame is now 6-1 and ranked No. 4 in the AP Top 25 after a weird, wild, and controversial loss to the BYU Cougars. Yes, I think the Irish got hosed out of one final play, but none of that matters now. We saw 59 minutes and 59 seconds of football, and there are some things we learned.
Last week Boomer called Boubacar Traore a renaissance man, and he was absolutely right. This week… we got five plays out of Traore before he was ejected for targeting Bear Bachmeier on a late hit. Despite Notre Dame's depth at the position, the loss of Traore was massive for the Irish in the game —particularly in the first half when the defense was on its heels and needed better play up front to slow down what BYU was doing. The loss of Traore might very well be the essence of the full reason for Notre Dame's loss.
This second thing was supposed to be about Jonaz Walton and I went looking for snap counts. While the entire deal about Walton is valid and should be talked about after only getting 10 of the 81 snaps after rushing for 181 yards last week… the wide receiver situation might be the most heinous thing about the offense. On a night where Notre Dame's receivers couldn't get much separation from Cougar defenders, maybe they were gassed? The elevation was well over 5000 feet and Notre Dame only used 4 wide receivers all night. Jordan Faison, Micah Gilbert, and Jaden Greathouse were out there for almost every snap, and the fourth… well that was Mylan Graham with a whopping two snaps for the night.
For a good part of the first half, Notre Dame's defense didn't just play poorly — they looked confused. Presnap lineups and adjustments had several defenders running to the spot they were supposed to be, and BYU was snapping the ball before they got there. It looked very much like the Miami game last year, and some of that confusion led to slow and soft play. This, of course, is a Chris Ash problem and they made the proper adjustments at halftime to hold BYU to just 126 yards and 7 points in the final 29 minutes and 59 seconds of play. But… this is still a thing and will kill the Irish in a few weeks against Miami if it's not fixed for a full 59 minutes and 59 seconds — or do we play 60 minute games now?

The worst part has been the offensive decline over the last two weeks as Dak Prescott and Company have been unable to find any kind of offensive rhythm. The Cowboys spent their mini-bye week promising changes aplenty, and several were obvious as Sunday's Week 6 contest got underway: Mike Pettine as a senior defensive ***** istant, Malachi Lawrence announced pregame as a starter over Donovan Ezeiruaku, Brevyn Spann-Ford getting at least the ceremonial intro-yourself-on-TV first-snap nod over Jake Ferguson.
But literally starting with the opening kick, it was just more of the same for the free-falling Cowboys... only worse. The Cowboys dropped the game by a 23-13 score that was never really that close and saw their season record sink to 2-4, a mark that on paper gives them far more respectability than they deserve.
With Christian Parker still on the sidelines but Pettine observing from the coaches' booth (on his sixth day on the job), the unit seemed to show a bit more hustle and fire, but the Cowboys' defensive results nevertheless looked awfully similar to their first five games.
In a dominant first half that was enough to decide the night, Green Bay handily won the time of possession battle, racked up 15 first downs, converted nine of their 10 third-down plays, didn't punt at all, and amassed 225 yards of offense, at a clip of almost six yards per snap.
The Packers held onto the ball for 6:30 on their opening possession, a 14-play drive that actually covered 105 yards and landed in the end zone. A 15-play drive going for 83 yards and eating up 8:17 would soon follow, further continuing a trend of the Dallas defense being unable to get themselves off the field. The Green Bay Packers got a pair of first half touchdowns from Jordan Love to take a commanding lead, and Jonathan Gannon's aggressive defense confounded Dak Prescott the rest of the way, leading Matt LaFleur's team to a 23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football" in Week 6. The Packers have now won three straight games since a 1-2 start.
Highlighting the good, the bad and the ugly coming out of the Packers' primetime win over the Cowboys:
The start on offense, and finish on defense: Jordan Love was picked off on Green Bay's second possession, but the Packers offense scored on three of the four first-half drives, all gaining at least 70 yards. The long, time-consuming drives helped the Packers keep the Dallas offense on the sideline and build a 17-0 lead at the half. But when the Packers offense sputtered over the final 30 minutes, Jonathan Gannon's defense had answers, producing a pair of stops on fourth down in the fourth quarter. The garbage time touchdown meant little. The Packers ended up holding the Cowboys to only 13 points, a winning performance 10 times out of 10.
Love under pressure: Jordan Love's passer rating finished at 74.8, a pedestrian number in today's NFL, but drops drastically affected his final stat line, and Love was excellent when pressured. He found completions on 11 pressured dropbacks. Many of his best throws came on third down against pressure. The Packers started the game converting nine of the first 10 opportunities on third down.
The offensive line: Sunday night was a step backwards for the offensive line, which allowed Jordan Love to be pressured on 45.5 percent of his dropbacks, per Next Gen Stats, and paved the way for a lifeless run game that averaged 2.2 yards per carry. Dallas went into halftime down 17-0, with turnovers and penalties repeatedly wasting opportunities leading to Dallas falling to Green Bay 23-13. Here are this week's winners and losers from the game.
Dallas has waited a long time for an interception, and Dee Winters finally delivered one.
Winters read Jordan Love perfectly late in the first quarter, stepped in front of the pass and appeared to return it for a touchdown before replay ruled him down at the Green Bay 42-yard line. Even without the score, it was exactly the type of momentum-changing defensive play Dallas has desperately needed.
The frustrating part was that the offense immediately wasted the opportunity with an interception of its own. That shouldn't take anything away from Winters. On a defense that was searching for takeaways and impact plays, Winters provided one.

Dallas has waited a long time for an interception, and Dee Winters finally delivered one.
Winters read Jordan Love perfectly late in the first quarter, stepped in front of the pass and appeared to return it for a touchdown before replay ruled him down at the Green Bay 42-yard line. Even without the score, it was exactly the type of momentum-changing defensive play Dallas has desperately needed.
The frustrating part was that the offense immediately wasted the opportunity with an interception of its own. That shouldn't take anything away from Winters. On a defense that was searching for takeaways and impact plays, Winters provided one.

Dallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams ran the ball 11 times for 41 yards and a touchdown versus the Green Bay Packers in Week 6. Williams added nine yards on a pair of receptions.

Calls for Mike McDaniels' job are only getting louder.
This time, though, Jim Harbaugh wasn't as strong in his defense of his offensive coordinator.
Harbaugh, after the Los Angeles Chargers fell 22-6 to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, said that they are going to "have to address everything, and especially offensively." The loss knocked them to 0-6 on the season, which marks their worst start since 2000. Coincidentally, Harbaugh was on that Chargers team as a player that finished 1-15 that season.
And when asked about McDaniel directly and if he was going to keep calling plays, Harbaugh said they were "going to look at everything."
"The job I'm doing, it starts with me. We'll watch this and get with our offensive coaches," Harbaugh said, via ESPN. "I see the effort, I see the work being put in in the meetings, on the practice field, and to get that to translate to the field is what's necessary. Feel bad for our players, our team, our coaches, our fans. And [offense] needs to be addressed."

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 34 of 54 passes for 258 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in a Week 6 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Prescott also ran twice for seven yards.

Why It Matters: Dallas' high-powered offense has sputtered the last two weeks, and Prescott has now gone four straight games with just one touchdown pass. It was also his second straight outing with multiple INTs. As bad as it was, you could argue it should've been worse -- a third interception was wiped away on a dubious roughing-the-passer penalty, and his only TD pass on the night came in the closing minute down 16 points (following another skaky roughing call). A matchup with the sputtering Eagles is on deck. We'll see if Prescott can rebound against a division rival. While he remains a QB1 based on talent, his production has reached a point where you should be looking at your other quarterback's matchups before plugging Prescott in.

The Cowboys trailed 7-0 and faced second-and-8 from Green Bay's 17 when Prescott took a big hit from Zaire Franklin. On the next play, Evan Williams intercepted Prescott's pass that was intended for CeeDee Lamb.
Dallas trailed 10-0 on its next possession and had first-and-15 from Green Bay's 28 when Lamb fell on a route, enabling Packers rookie Brandon Cisse to make his first career interception.
