Interested in Upexi, Inc.? Here are five stocks we like better.
Upexi strengthened its balance sheet and cut costs by extinguishing about $20 million of debt, refinancing at a lower 7.5% interest rate and reducing its workforce to 10 employees from 59.
The company held approximately 2.34 million Solana tokens worth $165.3 million at June 30, with 95% staked; the treasury generated $17.4 million in digital-asset revenue but incurred $195.1 million in unrealized and $11.7 million in realized losses.
Fiscal-year net loss widened sharply to $246.1 million from $13.7 million, while stockholders' equity fell to negative $53.8 million, largely due to digital-asset losses, higher interest costs and stock-based compensation.
Upexi (NASDAQ:UPXI) said it strengthened its balance sheet, reduced operating expenses and continued to build its Solana treasury during fiscal 2026, though declines in digital-asset values drove a substantially wider full-year net loss.

For years, Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) was synonymous with Chinese e-commerce.
Its Taobao and Tmall operations were the crown jewels of its tech empire. The cloud was a promising side business. And investors largely viewed the company through the lens of China's consumer economy.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
That's no longer the case. Alibaba's fiscal 2027 first quarter, which ended June 30, offers perhaps the clearest evidence yet that the company is changing. Its artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud businesses are growing at a dramatically faster pace than its traditional e-commerce operations, while management is pouring enormous amounts of capital into building an AI ecosystem.
Alibaba is still an e-commerce company. But increasingly, it is becoming something else.

Money entering crypto ETFs over their first two years meant institutions were arriving, and institutions arriving meant more demand for crypto. However, mid-2026 has made that relationship considerably more complicated.
Digital ***** et investment products went through eight consecutive weeks of withdrawals totalling a record $8 billion before inflows returned in July and early August. By August 7, the same products had recorded five consecutive positive weeks, including around $1.05 billion during the first week of August.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs show the reversal particularly well. They attracted roughly $865 million between August 3 and August 7, followed by a combined net withdrawal of about $198 million from August 10 through August 12.
ETFs remain a major source of crypto demand. Their behaviour increasingly resembles other large investment vehicles, however: investors buy when risk looks attractive and redeem when it does not.
BeInCrypto asked executives from Wirex, Zoomex and Phemex what recent flows reveal about investor demand, how ETFs have affected crypto trading, and whether another generation of altcoin funds can reproduce Bitcoin's success.

On August 21, Apollo Global Management (NYSE:APO) disclosed in a letter that hackers gained unauthorized access to some of its cloud platforms between July 6 and July 10, exposing names, dates of birth, addresses, and Social Security numbers. The breach lands weeks after Apollo told investors its ***** ets under management had crossed $1 trillion for the first time, a milestone built in part on convincing individuals and retirees to trust the firm with their money. Now Apollo has to convince some of those same people it can protect their data too.
Apollo's second quarter showed why the growth story still has legs. ***** ets under management reached $1.05 trillion, up 25% year over year, while fee-related earnings hit a record $785 million, also up 25%, and management fees climbed 23% as third-party money kept arriving across credit and equity strategies. Origination volume totaled $74 billion for the quarter, pushing the trailing 12-month figure to nearly $320 billion, and that tally does not yet include the $35 billion financing Apollo arranged for Broadcom's new AI computing platform, the largest private credit deal ever recorded, since Apollo only books revenue once financing closes rather than when it is announced.
CEO Marc Rowan frames Apollo's opportunity as bigger than private equity or credit alone. He argues the industry's client base is expanding from a single source of institutional demand into six categories, including individuals, insurance companies and 401(k) plans, and Apollo is building toward that shift with daily net ***** et value pricing on its credit products and a partnership with Intercontinental Exchange that has already ***** igned more than 2,000 identifiers to Apollo ***** ets. Performance backs up the pitch: Apollo's Fund X has generated a 21% net internal rate of return, well ahead of the 14% industry benchmark for its 2023 vintage.
The breach is the more immediate problem, and it fits a pattern. Reuters has reported that dozens of financial institutions, including Uber and Levi Strauss, were recently targeted by the same kind of ransom-seeking hackers, who built fake websites designed to steal passwords from employees at private equity and financial firms through phone-based social engineering rather than any technical exploit. Apollo says its investigation is ongoing and it has found no evidence yet that the stolen information has been posted publicly or used for identity theft, and it is offering affected individuals free credit monitoring and identity protection.

On August 13, Karyopharm Therapeutics (NASDAQ:KPTI) held its second-quarter earnings call, and the story split cleanly in two. The company laid out a myelofibrosis combination therapy with data strong enough to earn an accelerated approval pathway from the FDA, alongside a cash position that funds operations only into September. A $15.8 million loan payment lands September 10, and management admitted that paying it without new financing could trip a liquidity covenant and trigger default. Investors are being asked to weigh a genuinely differentiated drug against a genuinely short clock.
The bull case rests on selinexor paired with ruxolitinib, which Karyopharm plans to submit for FDA review this month under the Accelerated Approval Pathway for myelofibrosis. The Phase III SENTRY study found statistically significant, rapid, deep, and sustained spleen volume reductions, along with a preliminary overall survival signal and hints of disease modification. At week 24, the combination nearly doubled the spleen response rate versus ruxolitinib alone, with responses showing up as early as week 12 and holding through week 36 across patient subgroups. Even when ruxolitinib was dosed below 15 milligrams a day, the combination produced SVR35 rates as high as 50%, compared with zero for ruxolitinib alone, suggesting doctors could trim ruxolitinib without losing efficacy.
The overall survival hazard ratio at the time of the topline ******* ysis was 0.43. If cleared, this would be the first approved combination therapy in frontline myelofibrosis, a disease affecting roughly 20,000 people in the US with about 4,000 newly treated each year and no combination option on the market. Karyopharm pegs the peak US revenue opportunity at up to $1 billion and plans to lean on the commercial infrastructure it already runs for XPOVIO, including its KaryForward patient support program, to move quickly if approved. On the existing business, XPOVIO generated $30.8 million in U.S. net product revenue in the quarter, with demand holding roughly flat from a year earlier even as the treatment landscape gets more crowded.
The financial picture is where the caution belongs. Total revenue fell to $33.4 million from $37.9 million a year earlier, largely because Menarini's reimbursement of development costs ended in late 2025, a roughly $6.5 million swing. Net loss widened to $67 million from $37.3 million, and while some of that reflects non-cash mark-to-market adjustments tied to the company's financing structure, the cash balance tells its own story: $65.4 million in cash, equivalents, and investments at quarter end. Management said that funds current plans only through September 2026. A $15.8 million term loan payment is due September 10, and if it goes out without additional financing or a lender waiver, cash would fall below the $10 million minimum liquidity covenant, an event of default.

XRP (XRP) has gone up by more than 6% in the past 24 hours following the release of new rules for the crypto ****** e by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Today's move comes just a few days after XRP managed to successfully stay above the $1 threshold – a key psychological support that needed to hold to prevent a much stronger correction for this altcoin.
Short liquidations spiked to a massive total of $1.70 billion in the past 12 hours, with Bitcoin (BTC) accounting for $1 billion of that total as the token just rose past the $66,000 resistance.
Moreover, Ethereum (ETH) also broke a key psychological and technical threshold at $2,000 that catalyzed the beginning of a bull market on two prior occasions.
Today's move is similar to the magnitudes seen on October 10, back when a flash crash kicked off this bearish cycle.

On CNBC's Mad Money's August 3 episode, host Jim Cramer highlighted PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL) as one of the standout performers in the S&P 500 during July as it gained 32.5%. While noting operational improvements under Chief Executive Officer Enrique Lores, Cramer focused on the market reaction surrounding a reported buyout proposal from private fintech competitor Stripe and private equity partner Advent International:
Third best performing in the S&P 500… in July… PayPal. That's up 32.5%. Now, while the company's certainly doing much better under Enrique Lores than its previous CEO. The stock roared because PayPal apparently got a takeover overture from the giant private fintech company called Stripe, with the backing also of a big private equity firm. Now, they haven't agreed to anything, but it hasn't been shot down. Quizzical.
Reports of a joint buyout offer from Stripe and Advent International valued PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL) at approximately $53 billion, or $60.50 per share, a significant premium over its pre-announcement trading price. The acquisition attempt represents a rare role reversal, in which a private fintech firm, backed by major financial investors, is trying to buy out an established market leader.
While both platforms dominate online commerce processing, PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL) and Stripe represent contrasting business architectures and growth trajectories within fintech. PayPal operates as a consumer-facing ecosystem with hundreds of millions of active digital wallets alongside its merchant services. That dual-sided model gives PayPal deep brand recognition, yet leaves it exposed to changing consumer payment preferences and margin pressure in basic checkout processing.
Stripe functions as developer-first infrastructure, embedding payment capabilities directly into application software, SaaS platforms, and enterprise marketplaces. While PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL) relies on legacy brand equity and consumer wallet engagement, Stripe built its market share by serving software engineers and digital businesses. Combining the two firms would pair PayPal's massive global network and consumer base with Stripe's strength among software developers, though clearing regulatory scrutiny and merging their massive tech systems would pose major challenges.

Shares of QXO, Inc. (NYSE: QXO) fell 23% in July, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
QXO didn't report earnings during the month, but it did close on the acquisition of TopBuild on July 1.

QXO is executing a roll-up strategy to consolidate the building-products distribution business under CEO Brad Jacobs and his team, so acquisitions are a core part of QXO's game plan. Yet while TopBuild could very well build value for QXO, it appears investors may have had some trepidation about the purchase, which is QXO's biggest acquisition to date.
In addition, oil prices rebounded in July as the fragile "ceasefire" deal with Iran seemed to unravel. That pushed interest rates higher, and higher rates tend to weigh on cyclical stocks, such as those in housing and construction.

A North Carolina man will spend several years in prison after stealing from at least 64 investors when he was still in his teens and early twenties.
A Maryland federal judge sentenced 25-year-old Hunter Haithcock to 3 1/2 years of incarceration after he pleaded guilty to counts of wire and investment advisor fraud last fall.
According to the court, between September 2019 and October 2022, Haithcock stole at least $655,498 from his victims. Haithcock, who was based in North Carolina, lied to victims, claiming he worked as a registered investment advisor. Though the Justice Department indictment doesn't name the company, a previously filed cease-and-desist order against Haithcock notes that he claimed to be an advisor at TD Ameritrade.
In fact, Haithcock was not registered and did not work at the brokerage firm, but used the name and other personal information of an advisor (including the advisor's CRD number) to interact with clients (the individual is identified only as M.W. in the Justice Department indictment).

LONDON, July 29 (Reuters) - Apple said on Wednesday that proposed UK rules governing its App Store would amount to price regulation, arguing that plans to loosen its control over in-app payments could undermine innovation and investment.
In a submission to Britain's Competition and Markets Authority, the iPhone maker said proposed "steering" requirements would go beyond promoting competition and give the regulator a "highly intrusive" role in managing its business.
The CMA's consultation, which closed on Monday, is part of its efforts to boost competition and consumer choice. Its proposed measures would allow app developers to direct users to payment options outside Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store and require any fees charged for such steering to be fair and reasonable.
A CMA spokesperson rejected Apple's characterisation of the proposals as price regulation.
