The AI buildout has resulted in an unanticipated casualty distant from Silicon Valley: telecom equipment manufacturers, who now compete with hyperscalers for the same memory chips. Three major companies, SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron, control more than 95% of worldwide DRAM production, and as AI data centers use an increasing share of that output, memory chips used in telecom base stations become scarcer and more expensive as a direct result. That is the mechanism behind Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC)'s worst single-day stock reaction in nearly three years.
The company's shares plunged about 12% on July 14, reaching their lowest level since February, after Ericsson warned that growing component costs, particularly memory chips, will affect margins in the future. Looking into Ericsson's Q2 2026 results, the market's harsh reaction was more about forward guidance rather than a breakdown in existing operational execution. Adjusted EPS was SEK 1.22 (~$0.13), which was in line with market expectations. Adjusted gross margin increased to 48.4%, a two-percentage-point year-over-year rise after normalizing for a prior-period IPR licensing settlement. Meanwhile, reported net sales declined 6% to SEK 52.7 billion ($5.62 billion), missing the SEK 53.71 billion forecast, while organic sales excluding currency and one-offs remained essentially flat.
What worried investors was guidance and cash flow, not the print itself. Free cash flow before M&A fell to SEK 0.4 billion from SEK 2.6 billion a year ago, owing to increased inventories being accumulated ahead of scheduled third-quarter deliveries. Management forecasted Q3 Networks adjusted gross margin to a range of 48% to 50%, a slight decrease from Q2 levels, noting a higher share of lower-margin network rollout projects and component inflation developing "gradually" during the second half of 2026 and into 2027.
Jefferies, which rated the stock at a Hold with a target price of 98 Kronor, framed the sales miss as being centered primarily on delayed India deliveries within the Networks division as opposed to broad-based demand weakness, and noted Ericsson is forecasting a stronger-than-seasonal third quarter as those delayed deliveries arrive.
The sudden selloff has generated an attractive valuation gap for long-term investors. Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) is currently trading at a 14.45x forward P/E multiple, representing a significant discount to key infrastructure rivals such as Nokia, which trade on similar 5G-cycle and edge-connectivity theses. The market's knee-jerk reaction appears to regard temporary component inflation as a permanent weakening of Ericsson's earnings potential, resulting in a clear disparity between price and underlying value.

Night View Capital, an investment management firm, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter highlights that AI is a transformative force, comparable to electricity due to its industry-wide impact. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. Although fears about the software sector have led to significant declines in stock prices, the letter argues that AI integration will ultimately benefit many companies. They recognize that some software firms may experience temporary slowdowns, but most will adapt and succeed by embracing AI, citing advantages like systems of record, high switching costs, entrenched distribution, and rapid AI adoption. The sharp decline in software valuations appears to be an overreaction rather than a sign of industry failure. Nightview believes the so-called "software panic of 2026" is temporary, and resilient businesses will adapt and flourish in the age of AI. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Night View Capital highlighted ServiceNow, Inc. (NYSE:NOW). ServiceNow, Inc. (NYSE:NOW) is a cloud-based software company that provides a platform for automating and managing digital workflows. On July 27, 2026, ServiceNow, Inc. (NYSE:NOW) closed at $107.78 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $111.15 billion. ServiceNow, Inc. (NYSE:NOW) posted a one-month return of 4.56%, while its shares lost 44.33% over the past 52 weeks.
Night View Capital stated the following regarding ServiceNow, Inc. (NYSE:NOW) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"ServiceNow, Inc. (NYSE:NOW) runs the digital plumbing of the enterprise: the workflows that move a request from "someone asked" to "someone did it." Automation is not a threat to that kind of business. The more work an organization wants to hand to software agents, the more it needs a trusted place to route, track, and govern what those agents do. We added here as well during the quarter."
ServiceNow, Inc. (NYSE:NOW) ranks 25 on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 108 hedge fund portfolios held ServiceNow, Inc. (NYSE:NOW) at the end of the first quarter, compared to 118 in the previous quarter. In the first quarter of 2026, ServiceNow, Inc.'s (NYSE:NOW) subscription revenues increased 19% year-over-year (in constant currency) to $3.67 billion. While we acknowledge the risk and potential of ServiceNow, Inc. The Euro has gone back and forth during the course of the trading session here on Tuesday as we continue to hang on by a thread. We are at the bottom of a recent consolidation area, and I do think at least at this point in time there are a lot of questions to ask when it comes to the Euro. Interest rates in America will be a big driver typically of this currency pair, and despite the fact that rates have drifted a little bit lower, they are still uncomfortably high, and there are concerns in the Middle East, which has a major influence on that as well.
The recent area of consolidation could be in the process of trying to form a double bottom; we'll just have to wait and see. Short-term rallies will more likely than not continue to be swimming upstream if recent history is to be believed.
The pound initially tried to rally but then gave back gains as the market is still hanging around the 1.33 level. This is with elevated US rates. There are concerns in the Middle East, and sometimes traders will run to the US dollar in times of concern. It is possible that's what's going on here. The market is likely to continue to be noisy, but it has decidedly turned bearish over the last couple of weeks.
And the US dollar continues to grind higher against the Swiss Franc. The positive swap differential favors the US dollar as traders continue to see value in the greenback. We had recently consolidated and now have broken out of that little consolidation range to show increasing bullish pressure.
The market is typically one that's very choppy and somewhat sideways, and more of a grind even when it does trend, so patience is something that I typically find I have to employ here against the Franc. But getting paid at the end of every day is a huge bonus here with that positive swap, and right now I think that is one of the main drivers.

An unexpected operational reality poured cold water on Logitech's (LOGI) latest earnings.
Logitech delivered a genuinely impressive fiscal first quarter on Tuesday afternoon — revenue is up 7% to $1.23 billion while non-GAAP operating income jumped 44% higher to $290 million. Demand is holding strong across gaming peripherals and computer accessories in a macro environment where many other consumer tech companies are struggling to grow at all.
Even if you strip out the $61 million tariff refund that gave the quarter a one-time boost, operating profit still grew 14% year over year and easily cleared Wall Street's bar.
"Our team really is an operations powerhouse that manages to get enough of everything to deliver on the demand. And you saw that in the quarter." Logitech CEO Hanneke Faber said on Yahoo Finance's Opening Bid (video above).
"We're super pleased to see the Americas accelerating growth. Americas were up 11%, which is great. We saw our gaming business really accelerate to plus 9% constant currency growth and video conferencing. And also mice just continue to grow very, very strongly."

Bitcoin (BTC) bounced over the weekend session and was stabilizing above the $65,000 support as of Monday.
The cryptocurrency climbed more than 3% from its weekend low to reach an intraday high of around $65,722. Its recovery followed a pause in hostilities between the US and Iran, which sent oil prices sharply lower and improved risk appetite across global markets.
Brent crude consequently fell more than 4% toward $92 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate dropped over 5% to around $84.
Falling energy prices eased concerns that the Iran conflict would trigger another inflation shock and force the Federal Reserve to maintain a more aggressive monetary policy stance.
Lower oil prices are typically supportive for speculative ***** ets because they can reduce inflation expectations, improve liquidity sentiment and limit upward pressure on bond yields.

Three cryptocurrency investors filed a federal lawsuit against Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) on July 24. They allege they lost a combined $1.8 million in Bitcoin through a fake wallet app listed on the App Store.
The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. It accuses Apple of failing to adequately review and monitor apps distributed through its platform.
Apple recently overtook Nvidia to become the world's largest public company by market capitalization. Its valuation stood at about $4.989 trillion at the time of writing.

Global equities ended last week little changed in local currency and up 0.6% in sterling terms. This continued the choppy pattern of recent weeks with markets currently down 1.5-2% from their peak in early June. The US underperformed with a gain of 0.3% in sterling terms while the UK and emerging markets were both up around 1.3%.
Meanwhile, government bonds in the US and UK both lost 0.5% with yields re-testing their highs in early May. 10-year UK gilt yields tested 5.1% while US yields reached 4.7%, before retreating a bit.
The war with Iran was centre stage with renewed attacks by both sides and Trump once again upping his threats. The new ingredient this time was that concerns were not limited to the Strait of Hormuz but extended to the Bab El Mandeb Strait with the Houthis exchanging blows with Saudi Arabia and threatening to close the waterway.
The importance of this new chokepoint is two-fold. First, it threatens Saudi's ability to divert via its pipeline a good part of its oil production to the Red Sea rather than the Strait of Hormuz. Second, it poses a threat to container traffic more generally which use the Suez Canal to avoid a long and costly diversion around the African coast.
Oil duly moved back up to $100 per barrel mid-week from a low of close to $70pb all of three weeks ago. But it is back down to $88pb this morning as negotiations between the US and Iran started up once again over the weekend, easing fears of a major escalation. However, this morning, Iran said it is not seeking new peace talks, so the confusion continues.
Even so, the fact remains that Trump appears to have chickened out yet again – be it because the hike in oil prices has pushed US gasoline prices back above $4 per gallon, the rise in US Treasury yields has caused concerns or because, as has been reported, the US lacks the necessary munitions.

SINGAPORE, July 27 (Reuters) - Singapore's central bank tightened its monetary policy settings unexpectedly on Monday, with inflation projected to step up in the months ahead.
Singapore's central bank has a unique method of managing monetary policy, tweaking the exchange rate of its currency instead of changing domestic interest rates like many economies.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) sets the path of what it calls the policy band of the Singapore dollar nominal effective exchange rate (S$NEER), thus strengthening or weakening the local currency against those of its main trading partners.
WHY DOES SINGAPORE USE THIS METHOD?

July 24 (Reuters) - London-listed shares of Wise fell 10% on Friday after the money transfer group said its application to create a national trust bank in the United States was denied by regulators, amid major changes in financial policy.
The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency denied Wise's application as it was incompatible with the Federal Reserve's new policies for payment system access, the dual-listed company said. As a national trust bank, Wise sought to settle U.S. dollar payments directly with the Fed.
U.S. regulations for payments have changed significantly since the firm submitted its application in June of last year, it said.
"With the Federal Reserve generally pausing account access for an uninsured trust bank, the approach in our application became non-viable," the firm said.

Bristol Gate Capital Partners, an investment management company, published its Q2 2026 investor letter for the "US Equity Strategy". A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The Strategy lagged the S&P 500 Total Return Index in the quarter in terms of returns, but outperformed in dividend growth. Despite debate over capital cycle returns, AI remained the dominant market theme, expanding from early adoption to broader enterprise adoption. The firm continues to focus on high-dividend-growth companies while maintaining discipline around valuation and earnings durability. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Bristol US Equity Strategy highlighted Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN). Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN), a professional services company that focuses on consulting, technology, and outsourcing. On July 22, 2026, Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) closed at $140.09 per share. One-month return of Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) was 9.41%, and its shares lost 51.13% over the past 52 weeks. Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) has a market capitalization of $84.17 billion.
Bristol US Equity Strategy stated the following regarding Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"We liquidated our stakes in Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) and Intuit due to overlapping thematic headwinds. Both companies face intensifying market scrutiny regarding the potential for generative AI to disrupt their core business models. Accenture's labour-intensive consulting framework and Intuit's legacy software franchise. Because these structural debates will take considerable time to resolve, the near-term visibility on earnings durability has diminished. More critically, our forward-looking model signaled a material deterioration in their projected dividend-growth trajectories. Consequently, we redeployed this capital into higher-conviction opportunities with what we believe are superior risk adjusted return profiles."
Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 64 hedge fund portfolios held Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) at the end of the first quarter, compared to 71 in the previous quarter. In the first quarter of fiscal 2026, Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) reported revenues of $18.7 billion, reflecting a 5% increase in local currency. While we acknowledge the potential of Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. Bitcoin, the largest digital currency by market capitalization, is showing signs. It surpassed the psychologically important $65,000 level and is higher by nearly 3% for the week ending July 21.
It remains to be seen if months of cryptocurrency frustration are nearing an end. The same is true regarding a bitcoin bottom. However, with the CLARITY Act close to passing and bullish price action of late, crypto investors may have credible reasons to get back in the game. Thanks to the NEOS Bitcoin High Income ETF (BTCI), market participants can earn compensation while waiting for the bitcoin dust to settle.
The $1.12 billion BTCI turns two years old in October and has rapidly become royalty in the bitcoin income ETF ***** e. The actively managed BTCI writes or sells options on a pair of well-known spot bitcoin ETFs, ensuring a solid liquidity profile. It's a smart income move, as highlighted by a 30-day SEC yield 2.13% — a percentage previously unthinkable with crypto ETFs.
BTCI's status as an income-generating bitcoin avenue is potentially attractive at a time when some market participants are apprehensive about what comes next for the dominant digital currency.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) has gone down by 7% today and has accumulated a 15% drop in the past 7 days after a handful of whales reportedly cashed out on their early HYPE bets.
Yesterday, the crypto ****** ytics firm Lookonchain revealed that Multicoin Capital transferred nearly 400,000 HYPE tokens to Coinbase Prime and requested to unstake almost 212,000 tokens less than a month after they published a bullish report on this cryptocurrency.
In a piece ****** led "Hyperliquid (HYPE) ****** ysis & Valuation," Multicoin stated that "Hyperliquid's trajectory looks eerily similar to Binance's early years."
They also set forth a long-term target of $319 for the token, claiming that, at $63, it was currently trading at 36 times its trailing twelve months (TTM) earnings. They projected $8 billion in annual profits by 2028, which, at a 20x price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple, results in a potential 5x gain.
However, this recent move to cash out of Hyperliquid's short-term gains has raised eyebrows about the firm's motivations to publish this report among the crypto community.

1248 GMT – The dollar could remain little affected by the latest bout of U.S. trade uncertainty in the near term, MUFG Bank’s Derek Halpenny says in a note. President Trump’s plans for new tariffs should broadly replicate the Section 122 tariffs which are due to expire on Friday, meaning the currency implications should be limited, he says. Moreover, it comes at a time when markets are pricing in U.S. interest-rate rises and Middle East risks are higher, providing some support to the dollar, he says. However, if trade uncertainty becomes more ***** ounced, dollar selling could re-emerge as investors become more concerned over unpredictable policies and the damage to the U.S. economy, he says. Investors remain cautious as oil prices rise and Middle East tensions continue, leaving a risk that yields and the dollar could rise. “The pullback [in the U.S. dollar] could prove limited, however, as Treasury yields remain at elevated levels and geopolitical tensions could continue to fuel safe-haven demand,” DHF Capital S.A’s Bas Kooijman says in a note. Robinhood Markets (HOOD) reports second-quarter results on Wednesday, July 29. That could be an ideal time for active traders to consider single-stock ETFs such as the Direxion Daily HOOD Bull 2X ETF (HODU).
Ahead of the report, traders considering this leveraged ETF should examine some of the catalysts that could move Robinhood shares. It should also be noted that HODU attempts to deliver 200% of the daily returns of the financial services stock. That is to say, this is a short-term ETF, not one that should be treated as a buy-and-hold fund.
Heading into Robinhood earnings, Wall Street is bullish on the financial services stock. On Monday, Needham reiterated a "buy" rating on the stock, while boosting its price target to $123 from $97. Citing strength across various business lines, including cryptocurrency, equities, options and prediction markets, Needham boosted its 2026 and 2027 revenue estimates on Robinhood. It noted that the brokerage firm's core retail customer remains heavily engaged with the platform.
In recent months, prediction markets have increasingly become a focal point in the Robinhood investment thesis. It's an issue for traders considering HODU to stay abreast of as well.

July 22 (Reuters) - Coinbase has settled a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission over records it sought from the agency, the cryptocurrency exchange's chief legal officer, Paul Grewal, said in a Wall Street Journal op-ed on Wednesday.
Grewal said the agency, which polices corporate record-keeping, had lost text messages between former Chair Gary Gensler and other officials after a process the SEC said "automatically wiped" certain data.
As part of the settlement, the SEC will pay $150,000 and fix its record-retention policies, he wrote.
SEC did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
Coinbase sued the SEC and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. in 2024, seeking documents it said would show a concerted effort by U.S. regulators to stamp out crypto companies.

Satsuma started life as TAO Alpha, a small AI firm, before rebranding and pivoting to a Bitcoin treasury accumulation strategy. In August 2025, it hired Mark Moss, an American Bitcoin commentator with over 700,000 YouTube subscribers, as Chief Bitcoin Strategist.
The firm then raised £163.6M through convertible notes led by ParaFi Capital, with Pantera Capital, Digital Currency Group, and Kraken participating. Some investors contributed 1,097 BTC directly in place of roughly $97M in cash.
