For the second Serie A game in a row, Inter came back from 2-0 down to win, this time crushing Udinese 5-3 in a chaotic encounter at San Siro.
The Nerazzurri had a perfect start in Serie A thanks to a comeback from 2-0 down to beat Napoli 3-2, but lost their Champions League opener 2-1 to Real Madrid this week following some costly individual errors.
Cristian Chivu rotated, giving John Stones his first start, but resting Lautaro Martinez, Yann Bisseck and Hakan Calhanoglu, along with not fully fit Federico Dimarco and injured Djed Spence. The Friulani had an injury crisis, missing Oumar Solet, Nicolò Zaniolo, Juan Arizala, Matteo Palma and Jakub Piotrowski, the Poland international undergoing surgery today to correct a benign cardiac arrhythmia.
See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Franco Mastantuono explains why he realised Fiorentina was 'perfect' to flourish on loan from Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho's advice, and admiring Paulo Dybala and Gabriel Batistuta.
The Argentina international was a sensation when Real Madrid invested €45m to buy him from River Plate in 2025, but with very little opportunity for regular playing time, it was decided to send him out on loan.

Juventus are pushing to sign Franck Kessie, and they currently have the advantage in the race, as he prioritises joining them over other clubs this summer.
He has just returned after spending three seasons in Saudi Arabia, and the midfielder wants to end his career in the Italian top flight. He has since given preference to Juventus, and the club asked him to wait for them to make some sales to create ****** e in their wage bill to accommodate his salary.
Kessie wants the move and has been waiting for them, but AS Roma are tempting him with an offer to reunite with Gian Piero Gasperini, and Juve are worried. The Bianconeri have now stepped up their interest in adding him to their squad during this window, and they met with his entourage yesterday to try to close the deal.
After discussing their offer for some time, Calciomercato says Kessie rejected the offer that was made yesterday, so the parties could not reach an agreement. The result means Juventus have more work to do before they can secure the midfielder's signature.
Kessie remains keen on returning to Serie A, but Juventus must now convince him that Turin is the right destination. Their interest has been clear, yet the failed meeting shows that there is still a gap between the two sides.

In a recent report, talkSPORT mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are pushing hard to land Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are facing competition in the form of Manchester City in the race to land the Dutch talent this month.
Gakpo enjoyed a decent run of form at the Merseyside club in the previous campaign when he produced a string of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 27-year-old scored nine times and earned six ******* ists in 52 matches for Liverpool last season in all competitions.
The Dutch sensation is currently among the most talented wingers in Premier League football. Hence, it is no surprise that Spurs are eager to get a deal over the line for him in this transfer window.
His current contract at Anfield will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Tottenham to land him on the cheap this month.

Juventus could return to the market for creative players during the final weeks of the transfer window, with Brahim Diaz back on their radar this summer.
The Moroccan has long been a target for the men at the Allianz Stadium, and the Real Madrid star could have the opportunity to change clubs before the window closes. Juventus consider him one of the best players they could sign and believe he could offer a solution to some of the problems within their current squad.
Real Madrid could be open to Diaz's departure because they have several players who can replace him within their squad. That could give Juventus encouragement as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes.
The men in black and white see Diaz as an ideal solution to some of their current issues and will do their best to add him to their squad in the coming weeks. His previous experience in Serie A also makes him an appealing option for the Bianconeri.
Calciomercato says Juventus have reignited their interest in the AFCON star, who has Serie A experience after spending part of his career playing for AC Milan.

Lucas Perri has been linked with a move to Torino from Leeds in the last few weeks, and it is a transfer that was expected to be completed before the window closes.
However, with only a few days remaining, Torino have not completed the move, which could become a problem for them because Juventus are now interested in signing the Brazilian.
Juventus are set to lose their first and second choice goalkeepers from last season, as Michele Di Gregorio is heading to Bournemouth while Mattia Perin is moving to Palermo.
Juve have signed Guglielmo Vicario on loan from Tottenham, but they now need more than one goalkeeper, and Calciomercato says they want to sign Perri.
As Torino struggle to add him to their squad, the Bianconeri want to hijack the move in the coming days. The report says they have made contact in an attempt to lure him to their side of Turin.

Juventus remain in the running to sign a left back before this transfer window closes, and the latest player on their radar is Emerson Palmieri.
The defender won Euro 2020 with the Italian national team and has remained one of the most experienced left backs in Europe during his time at Olympique Marseille.
At the Ligue 1 side, he is one of their most reliable players, and they will want to keep him because of the contributions he makes to their team. However, with the transfer window still open, every player has a price as clubs look to improve their options.
Calciomercato says Emerson is one of the players on Juventus' radar as the Bianconeri continue searching for another left back to add to their squad this summer.
The report says Juventus are keen to strengthen the position before the window closes, and Emerson has now emerged as one of the players they want to sign. His experience could make him an attractive option for the Bianconeri as they look to improve the quality available to Luciano Spalletti.

The Torino midfielder has remained on Celtic's radar throughout the summer, despite recent suggestions that a deal for the 22-year-old was becoming increasingly difficult.
However, a fresh report from Italy claims the Hoops have not abandoned their interest and could return with a stronger proposal if Martin O'Neill guides his side into the Champions League phase.
That possibility has moved significantly closer following Celtic's impressive 3-0 victory over LASK at Parkhead in the first leg of their play-off.
Italian journalist Giacomo Morandin reports that the financial windfall from Champions League qualification could allow Celtic to intensify their pursuit of the Lithuania international.

Diego Moreira has given his first extended interview since completing his move to Milan, touching on everything from the size of the challenge ahead to his love of breakdancing and fashion.
Speaking to Milan's official channels, via CalcioMercato, the Portuguese winger admitted the scale of the move had taken some getting used to.
"I was a bit shocked because playing for Milan means winning trophies and being part of a club with a glorious history, in which so many great champions have played. Milan is a big club with certain expectations and this is the right moment for me to arrive here."
Asked about his objectives for the season, Moreira pointed straight to collective effort over personal ambition.
"You can't achieve any objective except through teamwork. I'll give everything for my team-mates on the pitch and in training, trying to make our fans happy. For me it's important to be happy and I'll try to help us reach our objectives, winning the league and everything else that's possible to win."

In José Mourinho's interview on 'El Chiringuito', there were many headline-making moments, but one of them was about the 'Negreira Case'.
You can watch the full interview here.
He said: "It is in the hands of the courts. Let's see what the courts do. Without knowing who Negreira was, without even knowing that was his name, when I was here, I smelled something. You could feel something strange. I didn't know who it was, but it was strange. The only thing I see now is justice."
And he continued: "If the vice president of the referees is being paid, is that manipulation of the competition? Obviously. Have the courage to look people in the eye. In Italy they did it with 'Calciopoli'. Should Barça have been relegated to the Second Division? You tell me. La Liga has to have Barcelona."
What do you think about it? We'll read you in the comments.

However, Celtic may now have to fend off Premier League interest if they are to bring the Lithuania international to Glasgow.
According to Europacalcio, Crystal Palace have set their sights on Gineitis and could soon open negotiations over a potential move.
Torino's asking price has been reported at between £8million and £12million, while Red Bull Salzburg are also actively interested, with Danny Rohl understood to be an admirer. Anderlecht have also reportedly made their interest known.

However, it was the club's show of faith over the summer, as they built around Ruben Amorim and added significant fire-power, including deals worth around €150m once Diego Moreira's move from Strasbourg is finalised, that convinced him to extend: "Milan showed how much they cared about me and the fact that I was part of this new project: it was what I needed, what I wanted to hear. Inter outcast Davide Frattesi is reportedly on the verge of joining Lazio on a season-long loan. According to Calciomercato, the Italian midfielder is set to sign for the Biancocelesti after the Lega Serie A unblocked his move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Frattesi has been on the fringes at the Giuseppe Meazza over the last two years. However, Inter refused to let him join Atletico Madrid last summer as Cristian Chivu vowed to help the former Sassuolo man reignite his career in Lombardy.
Chivu failed to live up to his pre-season promise, handing the 26-year-old just three Serie A starts in 2025/26. Tired of playing second fiddle to Nicolo Barella, Frattesi requested the transfer at the end of last season, and Inter are about to grant his wish.
Roma and Juventus had been keen on Frattesi, but the player is now one step away from joining Lazio.
Frattesi's contract at Meazza runs out next summer. Therefore, time is not on Inter's side, as they must find a way to cash in on their unsettled star quickly. Allowing him to move to Lazio on loan will reportedly pour around €5 million into the club's coffers.

We are entering the final weekend of there being no calcio ahead of the 2026-27 season kicking off next week. And just nine days away from Juventus beginning the new campaign against Frosinone, their goalkeeper situation is very much just as unsettled as it was — and likely much more now! — than it was back at the end of the 2025-26 season when we all knew a change was needed.
Juventus are about to pivot to yet another backup option when it comes to signing a new goalkeeper.
It is now as a result of the potential season-long deal between Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain for Zion Suzuki going from distinct possibility to looking very unlikely to happen all within a day or so. That means the latest pivot to try and bring in a new goalkeeper as a result of Michele Di Gregorio's host of struggles over the last 12 months has taken us to Guglielmo Vicario being described as "the favorite" in terms of potential candidates. (Which, unless there's somebody that Giovanni Carnevali and Frederic Massara are working on in the background that we don't know about, pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the current situation to sign a new goalkeeper.)
However, there's another twist in all this: As Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio said an hour or two ago, "everything is on hold."
Oh … well, that's good, right? Especially with the season all of nine days away from kicking off?
