Janelle Salaün scored 26 points as the Golden State Valkyries beat Toronto Tempo 83-75 for their sixth straight win, a franchise record and first victory over Toronto.
Golden State led 44-31 with 8:55 left in the third quarter, but Toronto responded with a 15-2 run to take the lead. Julie Allemand's jumper put Toronto ahead, and Maria Conde's 3-pointer boosted their lead. Toronto was ahead 59-57 entering the fourth, and Golden State finished on a 26-16 run to win.
Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase said adversity has become a theme for her team lately.
"Playing through adversity has been the key. The last two games, specifically, we didn't start out really well," Nakase said. "The second unit came to life again, so credit to them for staying ready. That to me is the biggest takeaway right now. We need everybody."
Salaün shot 7-of-10 from the field and 5-of-6 from 3-point range, going a perfect 3-of-3 from deep in the fourth quarter alone. Kaitlyn Chen added 16 points off the bench, tying her career high for made field goals with seven, and Kayla Thornton had 15 points and nine rebounds. Golden State's reserves outscored Toronto's 52-20, and the Valkyries won the rebounding battle 31-23, including an 11-4 edge on the offensive glass.

Addison Rae's dad, Monty Lopez, does not want his famous daughter involved in his mess!
The singer's dad has expressed his desire to limit his estranged wife, Kaitlyn Lopez, from sharing any content about his daughter for public consumption as they continue to navigate their divorce.
Addison Rae's dad dashed to court to pull the plug on their marriage in May, barely a year after they tied the knot in Las Vegas, a month after cops showed up at his home.
Monty, in his latest filing, asked that the judge intervene and order his ex to desist from posting about his famous daughter amid their nasty divorce. In the legal document, Monty accused his ex of violating a temporary protective order by reaching out to him multiple times, hence defying the court order.
The most pressing issue for Addison's father is the exposure her daughter is getting from Kaitlyn, which he wants reduced to the barest minimum. He emphasized that his ex has done it multiple times and even posted photos of Addison on her Instagram Story and added her songs to her social media post.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jackie Young scored 21 points and A'Ja Wilson added 19 points and nine rebounds to help the Las Vegas Aces cruise to a 92-73 victory over the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday.

Cecilia Zandalasini had 12 points to lead the Valkyries (10-7), who missed 19 of their first 20 shots from 3-point range.

For the first time since Ryle played in back-to-back state championship games in 2006 and 2007, a Ninth Region softball team will appear in the state semifinals.
Highlands came back to beat North Hardin, 3-2 in eight innings, on Saturday, June 6, at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington to punch a ticket to the season's final weekend.
The Bluebirds overcame two crucial mental errors to win their 28th game in their last 29 tries and keep their best ever season alive.
It was another battle of two of the state's top pitchers as neither Kaitlyn Dixon nor North Hardin hurler Brooklyn Carmickle allowed a baserunner until the fourth inning. Dixon flinched first though, allowing a walk and a single in the fourth inning. With runners on second and third and one out, Carmickle bounced a ball to Allie Meyers at third. She had a chance to tag the lead runner but misfired across the diamond, allowing the Trojans to take a 2-0 lead.
Highlands answered right back in the bottom of the inning as Leyla Zepf walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Morgan Pompilio immediately singled her home to cut the deficit in half at 2-1.
