RHONY alum Jill Zarin has come under fire after posting a video about her experience at celebrity chef Alain Ducasse's restaurant in ******* an. The 62-year-old TV personality criticized her experience after apparently misreading a sign.
In a now-deleted post, Jill shared a video, "Okay, I finally have something to complain about. I'm in a department store at an Alain Ducasse little post thing. I want to show you this, okay?"
She then revealed two ice cream flavors, each matched with a coordinating cone. The chocolate came in a chocolate cone, while the vanilla was served in a vanilla cone. She said, "I asked them if I could have a chocolate ice cream in this [vanilla] cone … She said no. I said, 'Why not?' No reason, just because. So, my girlfriend got vanilla in the [vanilla] cone, and she says, 'You know, I don't mind. I wouldn't mind the chocolate cone. Just swap them out.' The answer was [still] no."
Jill suggested that the issue could be a ******* an-specific practice or something related to Alain Ducasse. She said she planned to tag the celebrity chef and ask why his staff could not accommodate her request. Jill pointed to the sign, which said customers could have their ice cream served in "a cone or a cup of your choice," and explained that she chose chocolate ice cream in a vanilla cone.
But according to a photo posted by Mr Marcus White on Instagram, the sign reads, "a cone or a cup, your choice," rather than "a cone or a cup of your choice." Netizens did not hold back, taking aim at Jill over her complaint. One of them wrote on Reddit, "If she's in ******* an, and I lived there for a few years, YOU DO NOT ask to modify items on a menu. No one will tell you why. It's simply not done. If you go to a nice enough restaurant, they will gladly prepare something special for you, but they will tell you how it will be prepared and not the other way around."

The bond market is on shaky ground again. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is trying to keep one of America's biggest foreign debt buyers from making it worse.
Long-term US yields are near multi-decade highs, pushing up mortgage and corporate borrowing costs and threatening stocks. Bessent already doubled long-term Treasury buybacks last month, but the US 30-year yield (^TYX) has climbed back toward its highest level since 2007.
Now another potential pressure point is emerging from ****** an, the largest foreign holder of US government debt, with about $1.1 trillion of Treasurys.

Government bond yields across major economies surged to multi-decade highs this week in a synchronized sell-off that market observers have compared to the 2008 financial crisis.
Japan's 10-year yield crossed 3% for the first time since 1996, while US Treasuries and European debt hit their own historic thresholds simultaneously.
Japan's moves proved the most striking. The 10-year JGB reached 3%, the 5-year hit a record 2.26%, the 2-year touched a 31-year peak near 1.80%, and the 20-year climbed to 3.885%, levels unseen since 1996.
US Treasury yields pushed higher, too. The 10-year rate reached roughly 4.79% - 4.81%, the highest since January 2025, while the 2-year rate hit a 19-month high of 4.38%.
European markets followed the same pattern. German 10-year yields climbed to a 15-year high near 3.36%, French yields reached 4.22%, and UK gilts touched levels last seen in 2008. A Bloomberg gauge of global government debt yields hit 3.72%, its highest since mid-2008.

Liverpool have left Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo out of their 25-man squad for the league phase of the Champions League.
Italy forward Chiesa was also initially excluded in the competition last season under former boss Arne Slot, before being added to the list after defender Giovanni Leoni suffered a long-term knee injury in September.
Chiesa, 28, is currently out injured but expected to return to training during the international break later this month.
He has struggled for first-team football at Liverpool since joining from Juventus in August 2024.
Japan midfielder Endo, 33, has been an unused substitute for manager Andoni Iraola's side in their two league games so far this season, but he misses out too, with 21-year-old James McConnell making the cut.

Japan is today set to announce an energy import diversification plan that will include stipulations about support for pipelines in the Middle East aimed at diverting export oil flows away from the Strait of Hormuz.
The plan also features a push to reduce the country's reliance on oil and gas overall, and also reduce its reliance on Middle Eastern oil and gas specifically, Reuters has reported, citing ****** anese media. The government also plans to make energy companies share the higher costs of importing crude from places other than the Middle East.
Before the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran broke out, ****** an relied on the Middle East for almost all of its crude oil imports, which are vital for the resource-poor country. After the war, the ****** anese government rushed to secure alternative suppliers. These include the United States, Canada, African oil producers, and Azerbaijan.
This diversification has carried a hefty price tag, however. Last month, ****** an's total import bill hit an all-time high of $76.39 billion because of higher international oil prices. That monthly import figure beat the previous record set a month earlier, suggesting this month's import bill could be record-breaking as well.
Japan is also one of the world's biggest LNG importers, and earlier this summer reduced gas-fired generation in favor of coal as the price of liquefied natural gas remained elevated. ****** an has been burning more coal and less gas for power generation since the war in the Middle East started, and it is not the only one. With U.S. debt hitting $40 trillion, markets are turning more attention to that burden and whether policymakers will address the root causes or just the symptoms.
The Treasury Department's interventions in the bond and currency markets in recent weeks point to the latter.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent surprised Wall Street on Wednesday with a plan to increase buybacks of long-term bonds, after the 30-year yield hit the highest level in nearly 20 years.
That came just a few weeks after the U.S. and **** an took such joint action to boost the yen for the first time in three decades. But to make it happen, the U.S. sold euros instead of dollar-denominated **** ets, avoiding a sale of Treasury securities that would put more upward pressure on yields.

This mechanism allowed **** an, which is the world's largest holder of U.S. debt, to borrow dollars against its Treasury stockpile, obtaining a limited form of liquidity.

Last week's attempt to boost the sagging yen wasn't the first time the U.S. and ****** an took such joint action, but the way they did it revealed weakness in the dollar's global status, according to a top currency expert.
In a Financial Times op-ed on Tuesday, University of California at Berkeley economist Barry Eichengreen pointed to both sides of the currency intervention, which he said reflected concern about long-term yields going up.
On the U.S. end, the New York Fed sold euros instead of dollar-denominated ****** ets to buy yen. Eichengreen said that allowed the U.S. to avoid calling on financial markets to absorb more Treasury securities.

The tsunami of public and private debt as well as the competition for investor demand have put upward pressure on yields, which adds to interest costs and the federal deficit.
