LeBron James has been tied to the Golden State Warriors in different free agency and trade rumors dating back to last season. Now, one of James's longtime All-Star teammates is reportedly receiving interest from the Warriors.
Before the NBA free agency cycle is set to begin on Tuesday, Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports has reported Golden State's ambitious plan to pursue a pair of former championship teammates. According to O'Connor, the Warriors are attempting to trade for Washington Wizards big man Anthony Davis and then sign James in free agency if he leaves Los Angeles this summer.

While the idea of pairing Davis alongside James, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green is intriguing, it would come at a cost. A trade from Washington to Golden State would have to include Jimmy Butler, per O'Connor. The Warriors would need to use Butler's $57 million expiring contract and include some of their draft capital to bring the former Defensive Player of the Year to the Bay Area.
