ELLE UK hosted its annual ELLE Style Awards this week, celebrating the creative voices shaping the cultural landscape. Hosted by Ncuti Gatwa at The MAINE in London, the evening saw Rosamund Pike, Ruth Wilson, Simone Ashley, Jorja Smith and Dina Asher-Smith among the stars joining this year's award winners.
Dave Benett
Rosamund Pike presented Erdem Moralıoğlu with the British Brand of the Year award, so naturally she wore Erdem for the occasion. Her Fall 2026 patchwork gown is incredibly detailed, and while I'm not usually a fan of PVC heels, I do like how her Christian Louboutin Degraqueen sandals echo the embellishments and tulle overlay of the dress.
Dave Benett
Did it need more sparkle? Probably not, but the Repossi rings completed the look beautifully.

The fashion-forward influencer was honored with the Virgil Abloh Award at Harlem's Fashion Row's 19th Annual Awards Show.
If you've been deep in Black fashion over the past few years, you've likely seen Wisdom Kaye.
The Nigerian-American model has essentially redefined digital fashion, taking on requests from fans to essentially style everything from flags to even piecing together outfits based on a set financial amount. In sum, the Houston native emerged as one of the more daring men on social media, amassing more than two million TikTok followers in 2020 alone and curating various looks from whatever inspires him for more than nine million followers on Instagram.
That hard work was rewarded during New York Fashion Week as Kaye was presented with the Virgil Abloh Award at Harlem's Fashion Row's 19th Annual Awards Show.
"I never thought that with an iPhone and the corner of my room that I would inspire people all over the world," Kaye said. "I never thought that my ideas were really that great… I'm incredibly fortunate."

Regular readers know that I've followed one of the great Cy Young horse races in recent memory, with Cam Schlittler going great start-for-great start with the Blue Jays' Dylan Cease. We got a little bit of separation this week, as the Athletics touched up Cease for four runs in five innings on Monday, and then Schlittler allowed just a solo shot in seven frames against the Rockies on Tuesday. Cam has crept just ahead by fWAR, enjoys a considerable lead in bWAR, and right now I think would end up at the top of most voters' ballots.
But something struck me in the aftermath of Cam's night against Colorado, the same night that Aaron Judge returned to the lineup. Cam Schlittler isn't just the Cy Young favorite, but he's built himself an MVP case. No pitcher has won the award since Clayton Kershaw for the 2014 Dodgers, and the last AL winner was 2011 Justin Verlander. Yordan Alvarez is in the hunt for the first Triple Crown since Miguel Cabrera, Bobby Witt Jr. is probably the best overall player in the league, and if Junior Caminero tops the AL in home runs and plays on the Junior Circuit's best team, he probably gets his share of votes too.
And yet here's the thing: Cam stacks up fairly against all three of them!
Let's take Yordan, who I think has the inside track on the award right now. Schlittler's 0.1 fWAR back, a difference that is literally negligible, and more than three-quarters of a win better by bWAR. Alvarez's candidacy is based around the Triple Crown, probably being the best hitter in baseball, and dragging what we thought was a finally-deflated Houston Astros team to a division ****** le. ****** py AL West or not, that is exactly the blueprint for an MVP, if one for a slightly older voter.
Should Alvarez not win the Triple Crown, he loses a bit of his case, though he's likely still the best hitter in the game on a division winner, one who will have played in the neighborhood of 155 games. That's the big thing both undercutting Witt's MVP claim while bolstering his position as best all-around player — the Kansas City shortstop has only played 128 games at time of writing, yet leads the league in fWAR and bWAR among position players. With a solid-but-not-spectacular 18 homers and 124 wRC+, the parts of his game beyond hitting are doing the heavy lifting there as well. All that and the fact that the Royals are so bad work against him when it comes to end of season awards though, and Bobby seems cursed to be the Dave Stieb of shortstops.

Conagra Brands, Inc. (NYSE:CAG) faces a governance test alongside its turnaround. Reuters reported on September 7 that Institutional Shareholder Services, or ISS, recommended opposing executive compensation, citing weak financial performance and inadequately explained incentive targets.
The September 23 non-binding advisory vote covers fiscal 2026 named-executive compensation. It does not separately approve new CEO John Brase's package. Brase succeeded Sean Connolly on June 1, after fiscal 2026 ended, separating his compensation arrangements from the prior year's pay decisions.
The proxy lists Brase's annual base salary at $1.15 million, his annual incentive target at 150% of eligible salary, and annual long-term incentives of $7.3 million, split 60% into performance shares and 40% into restricted stock units. Incentive opportunities are not guaranteed realized pay.
Conagra Brands, Inc. (NYSE:CAG) needs executives willing to work through changes whose benefits may take several years to appear. Brase's priorities include restoring margins, investing in brands and the supply chain, simplifying operations, and rebalancing capital allocation.
A mix of performance awards and service-based equity can support that effort. Performance shares link rewards to results, while restricted units help retain leaders through disruption. Retention has value if it allows management to complete difficult changes instead of optimizing the next quarterly result.

Kelly Osbourne loves her mother, but she is not pretending they agree on everything.
Asked directly about Sharon Osbourne's support for British activist Tommy Robinson during an interview with Attitude at London's National Television Awards, Kelly gave an equally direct answer: "I don't agree with my mum, no."
Kelly acknowledged that political disagreements can be uncomfortable inside a family. She said Sharon is entitled to her own opinions, but made clear that her mother's position is "not for me."
The conversation then moved beyond Robinson to Kelly's relationship with the LGBTQ+ community and her mother's views on trans issues. Kelly credited drag queens with teaching her makeup, the trans community with teaching her about bravery and RuPaul's Drag Race with influencing how she presents herself.
The issue Attitude put to Kelly dates back to April, when Sharon's official Instagram account commented "See you at the march" beneath a video promoting Robinson's Unite the Kingdom event in London.

Chris "CT" Tamburello's estranged wife, Catalina White, is clearing the air.
Just days after the MTV star, 46, stepped out alongside Phaedra Parks for the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, White, 40, spoke to Page Six to clear the air about any "inappropriate overlap" between Tamburello and the 52-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta personality.
While Tamburello and Parks have only just started dating, they met in the fall of 2023 while filming season 2 of The Traitors, a year before he married White. Besides their long-running friendship and the bond the pair formed on the popular Peacock series, White told the outlet she "absolutely" does not think the two were anything but friends until recently.
"I have no reason to believe that," the content creator maintained.
She also kept her comments about Parks positive, noting that while she doesn't know the reality star "personally," Tamburello only ever "spoke highly" of the Bravolebrity.

Nicole Kidman reached the top of her profession in 2003 and discovered that the view from there could still feel painfully empty.
The actor won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Virginia Woolf in The Hours, but she now says the celebration behind one of the defining photographs of her career did not match what she was experiencing privately.
"I was beyond lonely," Kidman said during the Sept. 10 episode of Therapuss with Jake Shane. "I had the pinnacle of my success, and I went home and was so lonely."
The win came two years after her divorce from Tom Cruise. Looking back more than two decades later, Kidman said the absence of a partner to share the achievement with became impossible to ignore, leading to one of the most profound realizations of the night, "I've got to get a life."
Kidman's parents were with her at the 75th Academy Awards, but the relationship she found herself missing was a romantic one. "I had my mom with me and my dad, but I was like, 'Where's my partner, someone that I can share this with?'" Kidman recalled, according to PEOPLE.

Wall Street has bid up defense contractors on geopolitical tensions alongside expanded missile-defense funding, but Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) remains an outlier. On September 4, 2026, the company secured a $508.5 million Missile Defense Agency contract for ICBM and IRBM target flight-test support running through 2035. The non-competitive contract follows the $3 billion (approx.) in framework agreements to expand solid-rocket-motor production for PAC-3 and THAAD interceptors. Despite these bookings, stock slipped 2.5% to $515. The stock is trading near 16 times earnings and 33% below its peak, making Northrop one of the lowest-multiple prime defense contractors.
Northrop is one of the largest-cap defense contractors with exposure to Golden Dome through ******* e sensors and interceptors, while the Sentinel ICBM and the B-21 bomber provide additional exposure to broader U.S. strategic modernization. The recent bookings back that up: the $508.5 million MDA award, the ~$3 billion PAC-3 and THAAD agreements that will double and triple solid-rocket-motor capacity, and $1.4 billion of IBCS-related U.S. and Polish air-and-missile-defense awards announced in 2025. The latest MDA contract includes cost-plus, cost-reimbursable, and fixed-price-incentive elements, which reduce some financial exposure compared with purely fixed-price development work. Long-term missile-shield funding, however, remains tied to both political and defense bets. Legislative approval introduces timing risk, but the bull thesis is already working.
Execution problems explain the valuation discount. The Sentinel ICBM program triggered a critical Nunn-McCurdy breach after projected costs rose 81% to roughly $141 billion, forcing a Pentagon program restructuring. Concurrently, low-rate initial production on the B-21 bomber generated approximately $2 billion in pre-tax charges on fixed-price commitments. Management must demonstrate that these losses have ceased. Till then, multiple expansion will remain limited. Lockheed trades at roughly 19 times earnings compared with Northrop at about 16 times.
Institutional positioning does not point to aggressiveness in short trades. Our Insider Monkey database tracked 59 hedge funds holding NOC in the second quarter of 2026, compared to 62 in the first quarter. Short interest sits at 1.7% of the float, representing a low number of bets against the stock. Paired with -0.11 beta and a 1.9% dividend yield, the stock offers portfolio diversification at a discounted entry multiple.

Bayern Munich scored five goals against Norwegian underdogs FK Bodø/Glimt. The rust in the Bavarians was evident as they struggled to build rhythm. The second half turned out to be a much better affair as Vincent Kompany's men found their feet and blew their opponents away.
Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich and Michael Olise were frontrunners who woke the rest of the team up with their individual brilliance and finally reaped their rewards in the second half with deserved goals and ***** ists. Luis Diaz had an off day and was perhaps the only starter who couldn't pick himself up before the end of the game.
Without further ado, here are the match awards from Bayern Munich's first game and first victory of the Champions League season.
While Bodø/Glimt as a unit were fantastic in capitalizing on Bayern's rustiness by isolating the attackers, they failed to make scoresheet gains. In Bayern's emphatic attempts to crack the Bodø code, there were a few vulnerabilities especially early into the game. With some more numbers, the Norwegians could have sneaked at least one goal. Helmersen's shot at Neuer's open goal was a brave lone effort from his pressing.
Nonetheless, Kjetil Knutsen and his team deserve a shoutout for executing a great low-block. Nikita Haikin, the starting goalkeeper made some important saves and kept the game even. Unfortunately, he had to leave the pitch after the first half due to injury.

Jennifer Lawrence has done a lot in her career so far. Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick celebrated 38 years of marriage without a red carpet or crowded party. Their anniversary weekend involved a canoe, a quiet lake and a pun Sedgwick was probably never going to let pass.
Sedgwick shared two photographs from the outing on September 9, five days after the couple's anniversary. She and Bacon sat together in a canoe wearing plaid overshirts, with Sedgwick in a baseball cap and Bacon in sunglasses. "Perfect anniversary weekend. ❤️ Canoe believe it's been 38 years?!" she wrote in the post.
Bacon had marked the actual anniversary on September 4 with a photograph from nearly 20 years earlier. The image showed the couple dressed for the 2006 Primetime Emmy Awards and sitting close together in the back of a car. His caption was even shorter: "38 years with my love."
Bacon and Sedgwick married on September 4, 1988, after falling in love while working together on Lemon Sky. Their latest anniversary also comes during another stretch of professional collaboration, with the couple now sharing directing duties on a movie starring their two adult children.
Sedgwick's September 9 post showed how the couple spent at least part of their anniversary weekend. PEOPLE reported that both wore plaid overshirts while sitting together on the water, with one photograph showing Sedgwick smiling toward Bacon from the other end of the canoe.

The Detroit Lions' trip to Munich is getting another layer of international attention.
The NFL announced Tuesday that Cage The Elephant will headline the halftime show when the Lions face the New England Patriots on Nov. 15 at FC Bayern Munich Arena. The game kicks off at 9:30 a.m. ET and will count as one of Detroit's designated home games.
The performance is part of what the NFL is calling a record seven halftime shows across its 2026 international schedule. In the league's official announcement, Cage The Elephant frontman Matt Shultz explained what the band expects from the Munich stage:
"We have played a lot of shows in Germany over the years and the crowds here have always given us everything they have. Playing a halftime show is a completely different animal, you get one shot in front of a stadium and a global audience, and you have to make every second count. We are going to bring the same energy we bring to our own shows and we cannot wait."
Cage The Elephant has won two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, accumulated more than 10 billion streams and produced 13 No. 1 records on Alternative radio.

Every generation, decade, or year has that one face you can't seem to escape from, their rising fame morphing them into a constant element of your everyday life. Back in the 80s, it was actors like Harrison Ford, and Clint Eastwood was everywhere before him. Nowadays is no different, with several faces appearing everywhere you look.
Reward ceremonies, shows, movies, even within streaming services, you just can't escape them. If you're into how they act, then all the better, but if you're not, they seem like an invasion you can't escape from. These are the ones we feel are inescapable no matter where you look.

Robert De Niro's political reputation took an unexpected turn according to an AI image Donald Trump shared on Truth Social. The post depicted the veteran actor wearing a pro-Trump message, despite De Niro's long record of publicly opposing the president and his administration.
Donald Trump posted the apparently AI-created picture on Truth Social Sunday, showing Robert De Niro holding a red shirt emblazoned with "TRUMP IS MY PRESIDENT." The president added his own jab, writing, "Even this jerk is beginning to get it," while offering no indication that the actor had actually changed his political position (via The Independent).
De Niro has spent decades building one of Hollywood's most respected acting careers. His résumé includes Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas, while his performances have earned him two Academy Awards. Away from the screen, however, he has become equally recognizable for his outspoken opposition to Trump.
That stance stretches back years. Before the 2016 election, De Niro branded Trump a "pig," "punk," and "bulls*** artist." In 2019, he escalated his criticism by calling Trump "evil" and saying he could not wait to see him imprisoned. His latest comments to USA Today last month remained just as blunt.
"I don't even use the word 'hope' anymore," De Niro said of Trump's administration, warning that it could damage America and other parts of the world. "He's just going to destroy not only the country, but other parts of the world. It's insane. That's a big concern of mine, and I think a lot of people now," the actor continued.

On August 18, Austin Moeller from Canaccord Genuity reiterated his Buy rating for Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ:LUNR). Despite cutting his price target from $41 to $39, his estimates result in almost 165% upside potential as of September 1 closing. Moeller's stance is based on the company's second quarter announcement on August 13. The management reiterated its full-year 2026 guidance, projecting topline figures between $900 million and $1 billion, along with positive adjusted EBITDA. Chief Executive Officer, Steve Altemus, reflected on the company's performance by stating:
"We delivered a strong quarter, highlighted by revenue over four times Q2 2025 as we executed across our programs, recorded unprecedented bookings and backlog, and positioned the Company for the next phase of growth."
Sergey Nivens/Shutterstock.com
The second quarter saw Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ:LUNR) posting record quarterly revenue figures of $206.17 million. This equates to a 310% growth compared to a $50.31 million topline during the same period last year. This can be attributed to execution across the company's commercial lunar payload services, omnibus multidisciplinary engineering services, near ****** e network services, and ****** ecraft production programs. During the second quarter, it booked additional $920 million of awards and ended the quarter with an order backlog of $1.8 billion. This represented a substantial jump compared with December-end backlog of $213.1 million. It is pertinent to highlight that $612.8 million of the total order backlog is linked to the company's acquisition of Lanteris, earlier in 2026.
The business mix exhibited a material shift during the second quarter. National security programs saw a notable jump in revenue contribution, accounting for roughly 30% of the topline compared to just 3% in Q2 2025. The company has been actively pursuing opportunities to expand its pipeline of defense and satellite communication programs. It recently received authorization to proceed on a $600 million multi-satellite communications infrastructure program. The company will leverage its IM 1300 satellite platform to design, manufacture, integrate, and support multiple ****** ecraft. This award validates the Intuitive Machines' IM 1300 platform for large-scale procurements, and strengthens its footprint in satellite communications infrastructure.

Bayern Munich did not see this coming. Schalke came out with intent, and their low block was executed to perfection. A well-deserved point for the Royal Blues.
Fantastic defending, coupled with quick, incisive passing, and attacking initiative on counters meant Schalke was a thorn up Bayern's backside the entire game. Bayern were a snoozefest in the first half, and only the substitutions of Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Jamal Musiala into the game injected energy and purpose into the attack.
Tough day for the awards, but here are the standout performers from what was an absolute tussle of a game.
Karius just had the GAME OF HIS LIFE.
5 SUREFIRE goals saved. 3 high claims and 9 recoveries. There were other Schalke players having a better game up until the 60' mark, when Karius decided to single-handedly save his team on multiple occasions, denying Luis Díaz, Harry Kane, and Lennart Karl from point-blank range. Schalke have their star keeper to thank for keeping a point at home.

Actress and liberal activist Jane Fonda had some surprisingly positive things to say about Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison despite her complete opposition to a merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Fonda took questions this week at the DVF Awards charity gala held during the Venice Film Festival, and she said she likes Ellison "very much," which makes her vocal opposition to his $111 billion merger a bit awkward.
"It's sad for me because I like David Ellison very much," Fonda said, according to Variety.
The 88-year-old actress noted Ellison's Skydance financed her Netflix series Grace and Frankie which ended in 2022.
"David's Skydance financed Grace and Frankie, my seven-year-long run for Netflix, and I got to know him, and I like him. But that doesn't change things. This is not a personal thing. This is what it will do to the entertainment industry, which is already suffering terribly," Fonda said.

Of all the eye-popping artwork dotting Black Rock City — the ad hoc Nevada desert home of the legendary Burning Man festival — as well as this year's massive sandstorms, which caused a temporary gate closure, and the triumphant return of the festival's Orgy Dome, there's one story that has towered above all others coming out of the wild desert festival this year: reality TV star Bethenny Frankel's unexpected and very expensive foray into Burnerland.
The entrepreneur, philanthropist and former "golden era" castmember of The Real Housewives of New York — and since then, the deeply entertaining center of multiple reality shows from producers who recognize this woman is always the main character — has been posting her experience on the famed playa to her TikTok page. Possibly defying the festival's rules around posting to sponsored personal pages, Frankel is documenting her brave walk among tens of thousands of Burners — a subculture that has apparently declined in numbers, as inflation crept in and the scene morphed into a "sausage fest of aging Millennials" and solipsistic influencers.
