Party of Five alum Scott Wolf and his estranged wife, The Real World: New Orleans alum Kelley Wolf, are facing another significant development in their highly publicized separation. According to TMZ, a Utah court has dismissed the misdemeanor harassment charges that Kelley previously faced.
After announcing their separation in June 2025, the couple's split became contentious. As Entertainment Weekly noted, Kelley was later placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, and Scott obtained a restraining order. Not long after that, Kelley was charged with electronic communication harassment and electronic disclosure of personal identifying information.
On July 28, TMZ reported that, per legal documents they reviewed, the electronic harassment case has been dropped. The state of Utah, where the charges were filed, submitted a motion requesting that the misdemeanor charges Kelley faced be dismissed.

In addition, TMZ noted, prosecutors asked that the charges be dismissed with prejudice, meaning that they cannot be brought again. Court documents indicate the request followed Kelley's successful completion of a diversion agreement, though the terms of the agreement were not publicly disclosed.

Tarik Skubal has won a pair of Cy Young Awards and dominated in the playoffs. Yet no start might be as anticipated as his outing Wednesday, July 29 at Comerica Park against the Baltimore Orioles.
It is possibly – perhaps likely – Skubal's final start as a Detroit Tiger, as the Aug. 3 MLB trade deadline draws closer and the Tigers remain mired in a thick American League playoff race.
And if Skubal keeps up his recent performance, he'll be all the more attractive to suitors - or tempting for the Tigers to hold onto him.
Skubal, who has 999 career strikeouts, has given up just one earned run in 14 ⅓ innings his past two starts, striking out 21 and walking two. Both games were Tigers wins and both answered any question he's still recovering from May elbow surgery.
The Tigers enter Wednesday's game five games out in the middling AL Central, and 3 ½ out of the AL wild card, though they need to pass five teams to get in playoff position. But they can catch the Orioles with a win in this rubber game, and Baltimore has its own pending free agent lefty, Trevor Rogers, who has dominated of late and could slide on the trade block if his club fades further.

When you are reading this, we will be TWO WEEKS AWAY from the start of the Marquette women's soccer season!
We'll do a lot more season previewing as we get closer to the start of action, but for now, we have to beat the league office to the punch. Last year, we got the preseason Big East awards just a couple of days before the Golden Eagles got going with their season. That means we have to get waaaaaay out in front of the official results of the polling of the league's women's soccer coaches and make some picks for who is going to get honored as the season gets started. My guiding light on these picks is, as always, trying to predict how the coaches will vote. I have my own preferences as to how things should turn out, but at the end of the day, the goal is to try to get these right.
Okay, let's jump right into it, as we've got three individual awards to discuss, as well as a preseason all-conference team and a predicted order of finish for all 11 teams in the Big East!
These things don't have to be complicated: Kohls is the leading returning point scorer in the Big East this season. She had six goals and eight ***** ists last season for the Musketeers for a total of 20 points. Here's the catch: Since the last time the Big East updated the stats for last season was on November 10th, before the NCAA tournament started, Kohls was tied for eighth in total points a year ago and tied for ninth in points per game. She's still the best returning player. Part of that is because there were A LOT of seniors on the All-Big East teams last fall, and another part is because two players in front of Kohls transferred after the season was over. That includes her own teammate, Samantha Erbach, who was the top scorer in the Big East last year with 18 goals and 16 ***** ists, but now she's at Florida State.
I'm going by the points and points per game here, because I value the contribution of ***** ists to offensive production. Sometimes the coaches don't agree with me on that topic, and so I should note that the Big East's top returning goal scorer from last season is Marquette's Jocelyn Leigh, who finished the year with seven. That was tied for eighth in the league in total goals and alone in sixth for goals per game as of the last time the league ran the stat sheet. Marquette was third in the Big East in team goals for as of November 10th with only Georgetown and Xavier in front of them, so there's an argument for Leigh to get the nod here.

For a sport with a reputation for moving slowly, golf always seems to be in a hurry to appoint the next big star.
Jackson Koivun is next on the list and certainly worth watching.
It's not just because he won a PGA Tour event — which included the No. 1 player in the world — just two months after leaving college. Remember, it was only two years ago when Nick Dunlap won The American Express (Scottie Scheffler played that one, too) while he was a sophomore at Alabama.
Different about Koivun is that he carried the expectations of being the No. 1 amateur in the world. He won six times in college, swept all the awards as the best player, led Auburn to another NCAA ****** le and last year had three straight top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events without ever looking as though the moment was too big.
And then in his third start as a pro, Koivun shot 61 on Saturday in the 3M Open after Scheffler had set the target, and then held off Scheffler and everyone else with a 66 and a three-shot victory.

England's number one Hannah Hampton has signed a new two-year contract with Chelsea.
Hampton joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in 2023, and has gone on to cement herself as both Chelsea and England's first choice goalkeeper.
Over the past three years, she's won five trophies with Chelsea, starred for England as the Lionesses retained their European **** le and was awarded the Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d'Or awards in 2025, recognising her as the best goalkeeper in the world.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) beat quarterly expectations, secured $20 billion in net awards, reported record backlog, and raised its 2026 sales and MTM-adjusted earnings forecasts. Yet the shares closed 2.23% lower at $512.29 on July 21.
The contradiction becomes clearer when the quality of the earnings beat is separated from the size of the order book. ***** ysts said a substantially lower tax rate drove much of the upside, while operating income declined in two of Northrop's four segments. He's the headlining member of our All-NFC South Team of the 2020s at linebacker, but he isn't alone. At the same time Davis was taking point for the Saints, Lavonte David was doing the same with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now both teams must move on without their longtime leaders. Here's a look at both of them and other linebackers in the division who might take up their mantle.
One key stat we're relying on is Approximate Value from Pro Football Reference, which PFR defines as "an attempt to put a single number on the seasonal value of a player at any position from any year." In practice, that means giving higher numbers to player who start more games, play more snaps, and do more to help their team win by racking up yards, scoring touchdowns, creating turnovers and sacking quarterbacks, and so on. Baker Hughes raised its 2026 Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) order outlook after posting record second-quarter bookings, as surging investment in LNG export facilities, gas-fired power generation and data center infrastructure continued to fuel demand for its equipment and services.
The company reported second-quarter orders of $10.5 billion, up 49% from a year earlier, while IET orders more than doubled to a record $7.1 billion. Remaining performance obligations reached a record $40.1 billion, including $37.1 billion for the IET segment, providing increased visibility into future revenue. Revenue totaled $6.74 billion, while adjusted EBITDA rose to $1.23 billion, exceeding the high end of the company's guidance range.
Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said Baker Hughes benefited from continued strength in data centers, gas infrastructure and upstream markets despite operational challenges in the Middle East. He said the company now expects to reach the midpoint of its full-year guidance while increasing its Horizon 2 (2026-2028) IET orders target to more than $45 billion.
The record order intake was supported by a series of major LNG and power generation contracts. During the quarter, Baker Hughes secured equipment awards from Venture Global, Cheniere Energy, Golar LNG and Nigeria LNG, alongside large power generation orders from Dynamis Power Solutions and Kodiak Gas Services to support growing electricity demand from data centers and energy infrastructure across North America.
Oilfield Services & Equipment also outperformed expectations despite geopolitical disruptions. Segment EBITDA exceeded guidance as activity improved in the Middle East late in the quarter, while North America land operations and Latin America delivered solid results. MANHATTAN — Folks, it really was a great year in sports, even for those of us who aren't regularly paying attention: The underdog New York Knicks won the NBA Finals, Shohei Ohtani defied baseball physics, and the Olympics introduced the masses to our new national treasure, Alysa Liu.
I spent a soggy, smoky night celebrating it all with some of the tallest and most talented people in the country at the 2026 ESPY Awards, hosted by comedian Marcello Hernández at Lincoln Center.
As someone who observes sports more from a cultural angle than a technical one, I admit I find most of the fun of televised competition to be the emotion and drama of it all (besides the whole "who's going to win" element). I also only learned that "ESPY" stands for "Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly" last night. I still had an amazing time.
Here's what I observed as an in-person attendee at the ESPYs that you might not have picked up during the televised broadcast on ESPN.
When I arrived at the theater for the red carpet, the air was heavy with wildfire smoke and the humidity of an impending deluge. Sure enough, it poured. The nasty summer storm cost everyone about an hour of interview time, but fortunately, I got to spend that time indoors chatting with Yahoo's correspondent for the night: Jazzy, a delightfully brilliant 16-year-old journalist. We spent a while fantasizing about the snacks we wished we had brought, and she recommended I try putting Flamin' Hot Cheetos in the freezer for 15 minutes, which I will be doing next time I anticipate being grumpy and impatient.

The president was asked by Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy to settle who the "best ever" was during a Friday press conference at the White House — hours after James announced he is joining the Philadelphia 76ers. Doocy asked Trump to pick between James and Michael Jordan, and Trump said the decision was a layup — and attacked the newest member of the Sixers.
"Well, Michael Jordan is a guy that's a friend of mine, played golf with him. He's a really good guy," Trump said. "And I think LeBron is, may be he's a racist. But maybe he doesn't like Trump I don't know? But I only like people that like me. So I would say Michael Jordan, all the way."
Trump's pick comes after the "Air Jordan" v. "King James" debate has been a hot topic among hoops heads for years.

Rutgers Athletics recently unveiled its annual awards to honor the athletes who have distinguished themselves in a variety of areas. He was selected in the seventh round of the NFL draft by the Washington Commanders.
Crawford made breaking school records look normal during her time in Piscataway. She is now the school record holder in both the 400m indoor and outdoor. She also ran a leg on the school record sprint medley relay team, setting the top mark in 2024 at 3:47.28. Crawford recorded seven podium finishes over her career and was a two-time NCAA East First Round qualifier who earned a spot at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The Oklahoma City Thunder have experienced that firsthand over the last year. Thanks to a two-season run that has seen them put up historic numbers and win one NBA championship, other sports organizations are hoping to copy their blueprint.
One SEC football powerhouse wants to remain at the top of the college football mountain. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart recently said at 2026 SEC Media Day that he's studied up on the Thunder. He's turning over every stone to figure out ways to get fresh ideas on how the Bulldogs can remain in the national championship conversation.
"This season, like many others, we chose to study a successful brand or team or follow someone. This year, the reigning NBA champions at the time when we studied them was the OKC Thunder," Smart said. "They talked about being uncommon and how you can be uncommon in today's world."

Although Jokić was already one of the league's best players at the time, his resume has grown significantly since those rankings were released.
Giannis Antetokounmpo provides a good starting point for this ranking, as ESPN placed him at the No. 18 spot. Since that ranking was released, Antetokounmpo has continued to add to his resume. However, Jokić's past several seasons have allowed him to move ahead of Giannis on the all-time list, as injuries have played a major role in Jokić surpassing him.
Although Antetokounmpo holds a significant advantage defensively, resulting in a Defensive Player of the Year award and multiple All-Defensive selections, Jokić's one-of-a-kind offensive dominance and individual accomplishments edge him in front for the time being.

After revealing a health scare in June, Simone Biles has shared another development with her fans. The seven-time Olympic medalist posted an Instagram Story on Thursday featuring a photo of Biles in surgical attire, accompanied by her husband, Indianapolis Colts safety Jonathan Owens.
"His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure," Biles wrote affectionately. The photo is from July 22, indicating that Biles had already undergone the procedure at the time of posting. The 29-year-old donned a hospital gown, hair net in the photo.
The post is the first update in over a month from Biles, who shared news of a purported near-death experience on June 15.
"Almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week," Biles wrote last month, adding that she typically preserves her privacy in such circumstances, but felt compelled to share her recent experience.

Ryan Clark was recently fired from ESPN.
The former NFL safety, who won a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2009, also captured a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Personality/Studio **** yst at the 44th Annual Sports Emmy Awards back in May 2023. But UFC fans probably know him best for his now-canceled ESPN show with former two-division MMA champion Daniel Cormier.
Clark is one of several high-profile layoffs by the network this week.
“FOFO….Podcast with Dana [White] aired a day after he was fired,” UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit wrote on social media. “Every podcast creates a script of questions days in advance of the show. The mere negative thought towards the ‘Incredible Hok’ brings a curse. Let this be a lesson.”

It's been a good half-decade for wide receiver play in the NFC South, with both the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers racking up Pro Bowls and All-Pro recognition over the years. Many of the division's best wideouts have gone on to sign lucrative contract extensions, too, reflecting their importance to their teams and the rising expectations put in front of them (as was the case for Drake London and the Atlanta Falcons). While the Carolina Panthers were left on the outside looking in, here are our picks for the All-NFC South Team of the 2020s (so far) at wide receiver.
One key stat we're relying on is Approximate Value from Pro Football Reference, which PFR defines as "an attempt to put a single number on the seasonal value of a player at any position from any year." In practice, that means giving higher numbers to player who start more games, play more snaps, and do more to help their team win by racking up yards, scoring touchdowns, creating turnovers and sacking quarterbacks, and so on. We're also **** igning point values to being named a first-team All-Pro (ten points), second-team All-Pro (five points), and Pro Bowler (three points). And then we're adding those numbers together. Remember, these are all-decade teams for the NFC South, which didn't exist until 2002, and only contributions on the four teams in the division factor into our formula. So Drew Brees earning a Pro Bowl nod with the San Diego Chargers in 2005 doesn't help him, for example.

USC is one of the most decorated programs in college football history. Naturally, then, the Trojans have some of the best traditions and game day experiences in the sport.
This week, USA TODAY revealed the ballot for the USA TODAY Sports Readers’ Choice Awards. Fans have the opportunity to vote on numerous college football superlatives, including best stadium, best fight song, and best tailgating experience.
Not surprisingly, USC is represented fairly heavily on the ballot. The Trojans’ nominees include the Coliseum for best college football stadium, USC for best tailgating experience, the drum major stabbing the field pregame for best walk-out tradition, the University of Southern California for best college for sports fans, Traveler for best mascot, and “Fight On” for best fight song.
However, there is one glaring omission. Somehow, The Spirit of Troy is not on the list of nominees for best college marching band. Given the band’s three iconic fight songs, two platinum albums with Fleetwood Mac, its streak of having attended every USC football game (excluding the 2020 COVID season) since 1987 and history of having performed at numerous massive events around the world, not including “Hollywood’s Band” on the ballot makes absolutely zero sense.
While USC fans have every right to be upset about the Trojan Marching Band getting snubbed, they can vote for USC in the other categories here.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter is declaring her independence.
Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the youngest daughter of the A-list actors and former spouses, filed a petition to change her last name in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, July 20, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY.
Jolie and Pitt, who at the height of their Hollywood romance were known as "Brangelina," share six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 22; Zahara, 21; Shiloh, 20; and 18-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Jolie, 51, filed for divorce in September 2016 following two years of marriage, and the pair finalized their split in December 2024 after being declared legally single in 2019.
Jolie-Pitt, whose full name is Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, is asking the court to alter her surname to Jolie, removing Pitt from her name entirely, per Monday's filing. The actors' daughter said the reason for the name change was "personal."
