Hey gang! It's your ol' pal Jay. I woke up in a cold sweat after a nightmare about a failed audition from like 20 years ago, so I decided to spread that anxiety 'round the world! See, back in them days, you couldn't just send a self-tape all willy nilly. You had to physically bike on down to some building in a shady part of town, wipe the sweat from your brow, and perform for a little panel of directors and producers.
I don't want to brag, but I got a callback for a Taco Bell commercial. The director asked me to deliver this one line in different ways but still convey that this imaginary burrito was yummy. After a few runs of not getting it right, he seemed to be getting a little perturbed. I rifled off a couple more nervous ones until he stopped me and said, "No. You have to pretend that you're thoroughly enjoying the food. You know… Like an actor."
The room went silent as I shrunk to microscopic proportions. I didn't get the part obviously, but I had a good run back then! Booked some commercials for KFC, Pepsi, Nabob Coffee, and Tetley Tea, so… Ya. I haven't acted in a long time, but don't worry. I still take harsh criticisms on an almost daily basis! Wealthy baby boomers have spent decades building their fortunes—and the foundations, donor-advised funds, and giving traditions that come with them. But as the $124 trillion Great Wealth Transfer gets underway, a growing share of the older generation isn't so sure their kids will carry on tradition the way they hope.
Fewer than half of wealthy Americans (47%) believe the next generation is prepared to take on family philanthropic causes, down from 55% in 2024, according to research from Bank of America released last week. The share of parents who believe their children share their commitment to giving back fell even more sharply to 65% from 76%. The bank surveyed more than 1,430 wealthy individuals in the U.S. aged 21 or older with at least $3 million in investable ******* ets, excluding primary residence.
The confidence gap in philanthropy mirrors a broader anxiety wealth advisors have noticed about whether heirs are ready for any of it.
"This is a very real concern I'm hearing from ultra-affluent families right now," Tom Thiegs, managing director of leadership and legacy at Ascent Private Capital Management with U.S. Bank, told Fortune of parents' fears that wealth could dampen their children's drive. Trent Von Ahsen of Cedar Point Capital Partners also told Fortune his clients are leaning on mentorship and phased wealth transfers rather than lump-sum inheritances.
But the irony is younger donors are, by several of the study's measures, more engaged donors than older generations. Gen Z and millennial donors support an average of 12 charitable causes, compared with eight among wealth donors overall. They're also roughly twice as likely to use a donor-advised fund, and 87% say honoring their family's philanthropic tradition is important. Meanwhile, 86% say it's equally important to establish their own charitable identity.

The Monday night show underscored that a year into his creative revival, Blazy has made the house feel newly unpredictable.

Michael Douglas has recalled how he once had a "heartbreaking confessional" with Rob Reiner regarding their sons' troubles.
The This Is Spinal Tap director, 78, and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, 70, were found dead at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home last December.
The couple's son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder over their deaths. He has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial in custody.

Chuck Lorre's remarks about President Donald Trump at a Los Angeles charity gala have drawn a White House response. The creator of The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men called Trump a "bloated orange piece of s--- in the White House" during Project Angel Food's Sept. 26 Angel Awards, according to Entertainment Weekly.
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told Fox News Digital that Lorre should "seek psychiatric help," accusing him of "Trump Derangement Syndrome." TheWrap reported the reply on Oct. 3.
The gala took place at The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation Kitchen & Campus. Project Angel Food's meal program serves seriously ill people across Los Angeles County at no cost to clients, with dietitians and chefs developing menus around their medical needs.

Donald Trump's former press secretary will be joining Fox News as an on-air contributor, the network announced Monday, Oct. 5.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on Fox News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at Fox News Media," Leavitt said in a statement. "I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House press secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defied my tenure, to Fox's millions of viewers across their many platforms."
Leavitt, 29, held her press secretary position in the Trump administration from January 2025 to August 2026, becoming the youngest person in American history to hold the position.
Prior to this, she served as National Press Secretary during Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. Leavitt also previously ran for Congress in her home state of New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District in 2022, and served as communications director for then-House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY).

Natasha Lyonne was yet another celebrity who took the runway this fashion week, trying her hand at modeling on Vivienne Westwood's spring 2027 show held on Oct. 3 in Paris. Much like Olivia Colman for Miu Miu's spring 2027 show, Lyonne embodied the brand's spirit, clad in the designer's pieces from head to heel. The "Poker Face" star's look, which came straight from the mind of the brand's Creative Director Andreas Kronthaler, featured a glitzy pair of gladiator-style shoes. The silhouette, which brought back the trend of years gone by, was equipped with a panel on the front adorned with floral motifs, pearls and vines, all in gold that, from afar, looked like sequins.
