The 2026 NBA draft is right around the corner. Only a handful of days remain until teams across the league get a chance to add youth to their rosters during the two-day event. By the end of it, we've officially returned to square one as everybody is optimistic about their short-term and long-term futures.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will get a chance to add some fresh faces to their rotation. The ***** le contender enters with three premium picks — No. 12 via the LA Clippers; No. 17 via the Philadelphia 76ers; No. 37 via the Dallas Mavericks.
To prepare for the 2026 NBA draft, let's look at five second-round options the Thunder could add to their group. Of course, the second day is the fun one, where draft boards are all over the place:
Jefferson played in four collegiate seasons. His first two year Saint Mary's and his last two at Iowa State. At the latter, he cemented himself as their top scorer. He averaged 16.4 points on 47.1% shooting, 7.4 rebounds and 4.8 ***** ists. He also shot 34.5% from 3 on 3.1 attempts. The 22-year-old is a 6-foot-9, 240-pound forward.
Jefferson has an inside-dependent scoring game. Not a whole lot of shooting exists with him. Still, he ***** ped his way around the paint. That helped him get 6.1 free-throw attempts at the college level last year. He has an old-school build that revolves around finesse and smart decision-making. At this point, he's maxed out his physical tools. Don't expect him to be an athletic freak who jumps out of the gym.

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) — Rory McIlroy’s ball was nestled in the rough on the far side of a cart path, some 55 yards from the flag.
The six-time major winner, a dozen holes into his round, had just committed one of the cardinal sins of playing in a U.S. Open at punishing Shinnecock Hills: Going for the green in two after sailing his tee shot into the tall grass wide of the fairway.
No bother. McIlroy, gripping his wedge in a parted sea of smartphone-clutching fans, soared his third shot over a greenside bunker and made the 18-foot putt for par, pumping his fist as the ball fell in.
It was an exceptional up and down on No. 4 in a three-hole stretch — birdie, par, eagle — that vaulted the 37-year-old Northern Irishman to the lead at 3 under Thursday in the opening round.
It didn’t last.

To prepare for the 2026 NBA draft, let's look at three of the most polarizing prospects who the Thunder could get at the No. 12 spot. Opinions are all over the place on their potential fit in OKC:
Ament is one of the more polarizing prospects in this year's class. He had a fine year at Tennessee. He averaged 16.7 points on 39.9% shooting, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 **** ists. He shot 33.3% from 3 on 3.9 attempts. Again, nothing crazy. But also, nothing super impressive. The 19-year-old is a 6-foot-10, 207-pound forward. You're banking on the physical tools to help him carve out an NBA role, but depending a lot on imagination right now.
The common buzzword used to describe Ament is 'project.' That's not something Thunder fans want to hear at this point in their contending window. The shooting splits aren't really great, as he was an inefficient scorer at the SEC level. He also wasn't a great outside shooter, which is another red flag for translatable skills at the next level. No other skill set really pops off for him right now.

Los Angeles Dodgers infield utility player Santiago Espinal lost to free agency after the veteran rejected his minor league **** ignment.
Espinal hit .378/.415/.644 in 53 plate appearances during Spring Training after signing a minor league deal with the Dodgers.
With injuries to Tommy Edman and Kike Hernandez, Espinal made the Opening Day roster, playing all over the infield as a platoon player.
In fact, he survived for a long time in the majors, only being waived once Kike Hernandez got activated.
However, Hernandez did not stay healthy for long, and the Dodgers quickly gave Espinal another minor league deal to make room.

The Philadelphia Phillies continue to search for production from the outfield, cycling through a number of options without landing on a lasting solution.
The team cut ties with long-time right fielder Nick Castellanos before the season began, bringing in free agent Adolis Garcia as a replacement. Then Garcia was sidelined with an injury and the team called up Gabriel Rinconces Jr. for a look.
And as the team continues to evaluate the options, a former utility player who once seemed as if he might offer a solution in the outfield has gotten his own update.

Sustainable Growth Advisers (SGA), an investment management company, released its first-quarter 2026 investor letter for its "Global Growth Strategy." A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The SGA Global Growth Portfolio returned -13.6% (Gross) and -13.8% (Net) compared to the MSCI ACWI return of -3.2% and the MSCI ACWI Growth return of -7.7%. AI disruption narratives significantly affected markets in the first two months of the quarter, leading to declines in software, information services, payments, and insurance brokers. In March, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East caused a spike in oil prices, contributing to market volatility and prompting investors to adopt a more cautious stance. The firm believes prioritizing high-quality businesses with strong balance sheets, durable cash flows, and diversified end markets provides resilience against short-term geopolitical shocks. In addition, you can check the Strategy's top 5 holdings for its best picks for 2026.
In its first-quarter 2026 investor letter, SGA Global Growth Strategy highlighted Arm Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARM) as a notable contributor. Arm Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARM) is a UK-based technology company that develops and licenses central processing unit designs and related technologies for semiconductor companies and original equipment manufacturers. On June 16, 2026, Arm Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARM) closed at $396.34 per share. One-month return of Arm Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARM) was 54.38%, and its shares gained 171.37% over the past 52 weeks. Arm Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARM) has a market capitalization of $423.322 billion.
SGA Global Growth Strategy stated the following regarding Arm Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARM) in its Q1 2026 investor letter:
"Arm Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARM) was a top contributor to returns during the quarter. Shares responded positively following strong fiscal third quarter results, with revenue and royalty growth exceeding expectations, driven by accelerating data center adoption, and rising penetration of Arm's CSS platform in smartphone, automotive, and infrastructure segments. Importantly, management reiterated confidence in sustaining approximately 20% royalty growth longer term, reinforcing the market's confidence in Arm's structural growth profile. While near term concerns around smartphone unit softness due to higher memory costs persisted, company commentary highlighted that Arm's royalty economics are increasingly skewed toward high end devices, where royalties per unit are significantly higher, allowing royalty growth even in a declining unit environment. In parallel, investor focus sharpened on Arm's expanding role in AI, particularly as CPUs take on a critical coordination role in agentic workflows. Growing adoption by hyperscalers, including broader use of Arm CPUs for AI adjacent workloads, reinforced this narrative. These developments reinforced our thesis that Arm is becoming a foundational architecture not only for mobile computing but also for AI drive

The Golden State Warriors finished the season with a 37-45 record, missing the playoffs after being eliminated in the second round of the NBA play-in tournament by the Phoenix Suns. After a decade of success, the Warriors’ domination seems to be coming to an end. Their roster is aging, they continue to deal with injuries, and teams in the Western Conference are only getting stronger.
Because Head Coach Steve Kerr’s contract was in its final year, many ***** umed this would be the last go-around with the original core. However, they decided to extend him for two more years, and he will be back to coach Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green for the foreseeable future.
Golden State’s game plan will be to contend in the West next season and try to capture its fifth championship in 12 years. With all the stars they have on their team, the money is a bit tight heading into the offseason. The Warriors will be able to offer a $15.1 non-taxpayer million mid-level exception. While there are rumors that they are prepared to offer this deal to LeBron James, it is likely that he will remain with the Los Angeles Lakers.
If he doesn’t accept that contract offer, here are four players the Warriors could target instead.
Anfernee Simons is a score-first guard with great shotmaking ability. Although he is only 6’3, he makes up for his size in his athleticism and quick twitch all over the court. Simons began his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he learned from Damian Lillard for the better half of a decade. This season, he spent time with the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls, proving he doesn’t need to be the focal point of an offense.

The White Sox badly lost their first trade ever with the Reds, sending Cozy Dolan and Tom Daly to Cincinnati for second baseman George Magoon.
Magoon was awful for the White Sox for the remainder of 1903, slashing .228/.303/.278 for 0.0 WAR; before the 1904 season, the team dumped Magoon on Indianapolis of the American ******* ociation for a player to be named later. He would never return to the majors.
Daly, though long in the tooth for the time (37 years old), finished what would be his final season in the majors well enough, logging 0.7 WAR and slashing a formidable .293/.332/.407 at second base. Right fielder Dolan was the lone player in the trade to play in the majors beyond 1903, lasting until 1906; while never a standout and playing poorly for Cincy to finish out 1903, Cozy would rebound in 1904 for a career-high 1.7 WAR and 115 OPS+.

Right in the middle of a 24-game homestand (!), the White Sox drew the biggest crowd in Chicago history at the time, 53,398, to a doubleheader split against the Yankees.
The White Sox, surprisingly playing better than .500 during the dark ages of 1920-50, dropped the first contest vs. New York, 6-4, with Ted Lyons taking the loss. But in the nightcap, the South Siders rewarded their faithful with a 5-4, walk-off win to move to 30-27 and 5 1⁄2 back of first in the American League.

TimesofIndia.com in Lucknow: It is no secret that Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir is a strong believer in the left-right batting combination.
The foundation of India's T20I template has been built around that principle. With Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma in the top six, India have multiple southpaws to disrupt bowling plans. In contrast, the ODI setup has largely been dominated by right-handers. Even during the Champions Trophy, the team management was forced to promote Axar Patel to No. 5 to break that monotony.
Multiple discussions have occurred about injecting some left-handers into the mix but the batting unit has maintained a settled look since the 2023 ODI World Cup. There were some movements based on the game situation but right-handers have been the flavour. After the high of the Champions Trophy, India lost ODI series against Australia and South Africa and Virat Kohli's injury opened up an opportunity to shake things up a bit.
The thinktank wasted no time: Ishan Kishan walked in at No. 3 in the rain-curtailed ODI in Dharamsala and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened with Rohit Sharma, forcing Gill to come in at one drop, for the second contest in Lucknow.
While the left-right combination at the top didn't work as Jaiswal was dismissed cheaply, Gill and Kishan stitched together a 224-run stand for the third wicket. The partnership had everything: elegant strokeplay, towering sixes, relentless running between the wickets and complete domination of the opposition attack. Across 140 deliveries, the pair offered a compelling glimpse into what India's batting blueprint for the 2027 ODI World Cup could look like.
The heat was relentless and played a significant role in shaping India's innings. Temperatures remained above 40 degrees Celsius throughout, with players visibly struggling to cope. Although three official drinks breaks were scheduled, batters repeatedly called for fluids between overs and even wore ice packs around their necks. The duo battled cramps, and the Indian captain appeared completely drained by the time his innings ended.
Despite the unforgiving conditions, they gave the 13,000 spectators at the Ekana Stadium plenty to cheer about. Those who braved the extreme heat were treated to a batting exhibition of the highest quality.
After his Player of the Match-winning effort in the first ODI, Gill once again stamped his authority with a magnificent 154 off 110 ******* , studded with 22 fours and two sixes. It was also his maiden ODI century as India's captain.
Gill was at his dominant best. After Jaiswal's early dismissal, he walked in and picked up exactly where he had left off in Dharamsala. His cover drives were regal, while his flicks, cuts and pulls showcased the full range of his strokeplay.
India's highest stands in ODIs for third wicket:
237* runs - Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar in 1999
233* runs - Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in 2023
224 runs - Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli in 200

Gill was at his dominant best. After Jaiswal's early dismissal, he walked in and picked up exactly where he had left off in Dharamsala. His cover drives were regal, while his flicks, cuts and pulls showcased the full range of his strokeplay.

One team is already off the Red Sox’s list for an Aroldis Chapman trade, and it’s not the Yankees originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The National League Central has been one of the more competitive divisions in Major League Baseball this season. While every team was above .500 for much of the year, there's now just one team that isn't, with the Cincinnati Reds sitting at 35-37.
The Reds have done some nice things throughout the year, but as a whole, haven't been able to compete at the level everyone expected. The offense, at times, can be very good, and the same can be said for one of the better pitching staffs in Major League Baseball.
However, the bullpen has been a major concern, and until that changes, there will be legitimate questions about whether Cincinnati can actually compete with high-end teams in the second half or make the postseason.
Trading for somebody like Aroldis Chapman could make a lot of sense, but according to one recent report, the chances of that happening are very low, giving the Boston Red Sox another team that likely won't be on Chapman's list of potential trade partners.

Many investors have been kicking Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) to the curb. It's down by almost 20% year to date as fellow tech stocks continue to rally. The State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF's 28% year-to-date rally truly captures how much Microsoft has fallen in the eyes of many investors.
However, it may be too early to count Microsoft out, especially since its strong fundamentals remain intact.

Perhaps some growth investors have given up on Microsoft because it's not doubling revenue year over year like some of the top-performing AI stocks. However, it's still gaining ground on its peers thanks to AI, which has translated into steady financial growth.
Revenue inched up by 18% year over year in Microsoft's fiscal 2026 third quarter. CEO Satya Nadella said the company's AI business reached an annual revenue run rate of $37 billion, a 123% year-over-year increase. Microsoft Cloud once again remained the main growth driver, and it was up by 29% year over year.

Charlotte Knights 5, Buffalo Bisons 1
The Knights (39-32) recovered from Tuesday’s loss to even up their series in Buffalo against the Bisons (34-37).
After a scoreless first inning, the Knights offense went to work by putting a crooked number on the scoreboard. Nolan Jones drew a leadoff walk, and Ryan Galanie added a single. That set the stage for Dustin Harris, who drove in the first run of the game with a single to right. Dru Baker popped out, but the next batter was Andy Weber, who launched a three-run homer to give the Knights a commanding lead.
In the sixth, with the score still 4-0, Galanie blasted his 10th homer to add an insurance run and extend the lead to five. As it turned out, five was more than enough for the Knights to come away with the victory.
Meanwhile, Tyler Schweitzer was the opener for Charlotte, and he did his part by pitching a scoreless first inning. Duncan Davitt covered the next three innings, and he did not allow any runs, either. The Bisons scored their only run in the sixth, when Sean Keys went deep against Zach Franklin. The bullpen took care of business down the stretch, as Garrett Schoenle and Javy Guerra combined to pitch 3 1/3 scoreless innings to put the game away. Catcher Kyle Teel went 1-for-4 with a single and a strikeout during the victory.

College football possesses by far the most raucous crowds in mainstream American sports. The largest stadiums in the United States are all college football stadiums. When drunk college students, alumni and other loud fans pack these venues, they create deafening forms of entertainment that cannot be duplicated.
In the craziest college football environments, the stadium is ROCKING from the second the players come out. The noise levels can far exceed 100 decibels. To put that in perspective, any sound above 70 decibels can damage hearing over time.
At the loudest parts of the game, players often cannot hear anything. This causes false starts, delay of game penalties and timeouts that would otherwise not be called. The deafening crowd has such a big impact on games that EA Sports applies a “stadium pulse” feature in its college football game to simulate the effects.
Of course, fanbases across the country can make the opposing team’s life ******* . But these five stand out when it comes to stressing out opposing players:
Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium has produced the loudest college football moment on record to date. During the Vols’ loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on November 18, 2023, the crowd got to 137 decibels.

Uzbekistan plays the first World Cup match in its history Wednesday against Colombia at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The central Asian nation waited decades for this moment, and its arrival has many U.S. fans scratching their heads, pulling out maps and wondering where they will find Uzbekistan.
So, here is what to know:
Uzbekistan sits in the heart of Central Asia, north of Afghanistan and bordering Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. It is one of only two countries on Earth where you have to cross two borders to reach the ocean. About 37 million people live there, making it the most populous country in the region. The capital is Tashkent.
The official language is Uzbek, a Turkic language related to Turkish and written today in a Latin-based alphabet. Russian is still widely spoken there, a holdover from the decades Uzbekistan spent inside the Soviet Union. Tajik, a form of Persian, is common in the old cities of Samarkand and Bukhara.
Long before soccer, Uzbekistan was the crossroads of the Silk Road. Samarkand and Bukhara were among the most important trading cities in the world, where caravans moving between China and Europe met for centuries. The turquoise domes of Samarkand's Registan Square remain one of the most recognizable sights in Asia. The region was also the seat of Tamerlane, the 14th century conqueror who built a vast empire and made Samarkand its glittering capital.

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — A 44-year-old Russian artist who has been critical of Russian President Vladimir Putin was shot and killed at close range near his home in the eastern Polish city of Biala Podlaska, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Two Belarusian citizens, aged 37 and 33, were arrested near the Belarusian Consulate after the killing on Monday, they said.
Polish media identified the victim as Robert Kuzovkov, while prosecutors named him only as Robert K., in accordance with Polish privacy laws. They said he was an artist who used the pseudonym Semyon Skrepetsky.

Danny Rohl has left Rangers after just eight months in charge to become RB Salzburg's head coach - with the club saying news of his replacement "will follow in due course".
Hearts head coach Derek McInnes is widely expected to be the German's successor as Rangers ready themselves to appoint a third boss in 12 months.
Rohl, 37, replaced Russell Martin in October and steered Rangers into a three-way ******* le fight, but a post-split collapse yielded a third-place finish behind Celtic and Hearts as the Ibrox club ended the campaign without silverware.
Chairman Andrew Cavenagh publicly backed Rohl at the end of the season, but the German now returns to the Red Bull stable, having begun his coaching career at Leipzig under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
"I'd like to thank Danny for his service and commitment to Rangers," Cavenagh said.
