Moses Moody looked like he was itching to join the campers in ballhandling drills, but opted to simply be a passer. "He's committed to the work," Curry said. "He's not fighting it." Moody has been rehabbing in the Bay Area. He's targeting September to resume running and returning to on-court work. Next season's hope floats on Curry's ability to carry the load until Moody and Butler, recovering from a torn ACL, return to playing.

The Houston Rockets have had players donning a total of 52 different jersey numbers (and have one not part of any numerical series for Houston ******* istant coach and general manager Carroll Dawson) since their founding at the start of the 1967-68 season, worn by just under 500 players in the course of Rockets history.
To honor all of the players who wore those numbers over the decades, Rockets Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who wore them since the founding of the team all those years ago right up to the present day.
With seven of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Rockets of all time to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover.
And for today's article, we will continue with the fourth of four who wore the No. 24, Hall of Fame big man Moses Malone. After ending his high school career, Malone signed with the ABA's (defunct) Utah Stars in 1972.
The Petersburg, Virginia native also played for the (defunct) Spirits of St. Louis and the NBA's (then) Buffalo Braves (now, Boston Celtics - it's a long story) before he was dealt to the Houston Rockets in 1976. His stay with the team lasted until he was dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers in 1982.

Jul. 30—When 90+ Project Director of Programming and Coach Aaron Lewis asked the players at Thrive International's youth summer soccer camp how many of them weren't born in the United States, dozens of hands shot up.
Sitting in the grass at Franklin Park, those same players watched as four out of the five Spokane Velocity players who were visiting camp Thursday raised their hands, too.
"You're my GOAT," 9-year-old Mel Akon later told Velocity left-backer Moses Mensah while the kids collected autographs on soccer ****** , cleats and posters. "One day I'm gonna look like you and be like you."
"I want to see that," Mensah, originally from Ghana, answered without hesitation.
The annual youth soccer camp is run through a partnership with refugee resettlement organization Thrive International and sports-based youth development organization 90+ Project. This year, close to 200 kids, including kindergartners to 12th graders, from more than a dozen nationalities, arrived at Franklin Park to play soccer.

Jul. 14—MOSES LAKE — The Washington Rage 16U (5-5-1) took a step forward over the weekend after making a run to the semifinals of their weekend tournament.
"The improvement from last weekend to this past weekend was very noticeable," Head Coach Bob Richardson said. "With their first tournament of the year, you got to figure out what you need to work on, and most of this team hadn't played together in a tournament yet. Our offense was phenomenal, with the exception of the semifinal game. The girls hit the ball really well, and (there were) contributions up and down the lineup."
Their tournament run began Saturday, where they went 3-0 against the competition. As the day went on, the bats came alive, Richardson said. They first defeated the Liberty Lake Lightning 16U 8-2 before taking another win against the Washington Firecrackers 16U 19-3 in two innings. They finished Saturday with a 15-5 win over the Elevate Northwest Biell 16U squad, advancing them further in the tournament. After a 7-3 win over the Elevate NW Teal 16U, the Rage concluded the tournament with a 10-0 loss by the NCW SunDevils 16U team.
Despite falling short in the semifinals, Richardson was happy with the team's improvement.
"I think as they gelled, they knew in the lineup where we were going to struggle a little bit and where we were going to be successful," he said. "The great thing is, everybody hit this weekend. It's not like last weekend where we had three girls who didn't get a hit. As a coach, it's fun because I'm very aggressive and I like to get the game moving. So, if I've got speed on the base paths, I'm going to take advantage of that and put pressure on the defense, and we were able to do that."

How Warriors trading Moses Moody could help land LeBron James in free agency originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Golden State Warriors remain a compelling potential landing spot for LeBron James.
At least for fans of basketball in general, it'd be a lot of fun to see LeBron close out his career playing with Steph Curry.
Pulling off a signing of King James in free agency won't be easy for Golden State, though. Like a number of the other teams pursuing LeBron, the Warriors don't have a lot of salary cap wiggle room.
The best solution they might have is to trade Moses Moody, which could help a bit.

There wasn’t a more respected – or feared – player in Rhode Island than Bousquet, who wrapped up her career with the Quakers with her fourth All-State nod and third appearance on the All-State team. With Bousquet on the court, Moses Brown was a ***** le contender, reaching the Division I final and falling in a nailbiter against eventual champ Barrington in the state tournament. This season Bousquet scored her 2,000th career point, averaged over 27 points per game and earned Gatorade Player of the Year. She’ll continue her career at Marist University.

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the more storied franchises in the league as their history spans back to their days as the Syracuse Nationals back in the 1940s. Thus far, the Sixers have been around for 77 years since the 1949-50 season as they have had a number of phenomenal players wear their uniform and make an impact on the organization.
In terms of free agents, the Sixers have had quite a few come in and put their stamp on the team. Some have been huge hits while others have been duds. Many can debate which one is which with nearly every player in an effort to decide the best in the world. It's the way the world works.
HoopsHype ranked the best free agent signing in each team's history and landed on the great Moses Malone for Philadelphia:
The Rockets, Malone’s prior team, had just switched ownership, so when Malone signed a six-year, $13.2 million offer sheet with the Philadelphia 76ers, they said the reigning league MVP did not fit into their plans at that cost and let him walk, though they were at least able to make it a sign-and-trade with Philadelphia that included a first-round pick going back to the Rockets.
Malone brought a championship to Philadelphia in his first season with the Sixers in 1982-83. He averaged 24.5 points and 15.3 rebounds during the season on his way to winning the MVP award. He then followed that up with averages of 26.0 points and 15.8 rebounds in the playoffs as he went on to win finals MVP as well.

Warriors predicted to steal Celtics' top $112 million trade target in Kristaps Porzingis trade originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Golden State Warriors are unlikely to acquire Anthony Davis from the Washington Wizards after the franchise’s general manager, Will Dawkins, expressed his desire to retain the 10-time All-Star forward.
What does that mean for the Dubs? They may not succeed in crossing off all the boxes necessary to bring LeBron James on board this summer. Could the franchise quickly pivot and steal the Boston Celtics’ top trade target in an attempt to convince James to spend the rest of his career in the Bay?
NBA reporter Evan Sidery thinks so, suggesting that the Dubs could trade Kristaps Porzingis, their NBA champion starting center, for the Boston Celtics’ top $112 million trade target.
“A potential trade framework between the Pelicans and Warriors for Trey Murphy III: Golden State: Murphy, New Orleans (Pelicans): Brandin Podziemski, Kristaps Porzingis, Moses Moody, future draft capital,” Sidery wrote on X/Twitter Thursday.

Briton Moses Itauma has been ordered by the IBF to hold talks with Cuba's Frank Sanchez about fighting for the vacant heavyweight ****** le.
Last week Oleksandr Usyk relinquished his IBF, WBA 'super' and WBC.
The IBF said that, "in accordance with IBF championship rules", it now wants Sanchez, who is number one in their heavyweight rankings, to fight number three contender Itauma.
It said: "They have until 29 July to reach an agreement."
However, 21-year-old Itauma is scheduled to fight Croatia's Filip Hrgovic at London's O2 Arena on 29 August in what he has called his "toughest fight".

Tyson Fury will fight Poland's Mariusz Wach in Thailand on 24 July as a warm-up for a potential all-British encounter with Anthony Joshua.
Fury's fight in Pattaya - where the 37-year-old trains - will be a day before Joshua makes his comeback on 25 July against Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - his first fight since being involved in a car crash that killed two of his friends in Nigeria in December 2025.
Both Fury and Joshua, 36, need to win their fights to set up a meeting between the two former world champions, which is scheduled to happen in 2026.
Wach, 46, has a record of 39 wins from 51 fights, 20 by knockout.
But the Pole has won just three of his past 10 bouts and suffered a second-round stoppage to Britain's Moses Itauma in a WBO Intercontinental heavyweight ****** le fight in July 2024.

Warriors $39M fan-favorite being viewed as trade candidate after suffering devastating injury originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Golden State Warriors are expected to be active during the offseason, with some even suggesting we could see a somewhat different roster beyond Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
As long as the Warriors keep those guys together and add the right supporting pieces, I like what they could build. However, doing so might require making a trade or two, and according to one CBS Sports insider, it might even require moving on from Moses Moody, a young player often viewed as a fan favorite.
“Another injury case. He tore his patellar tendon during the season, but he’s also one of the few mid-sized contracts Golden State has to trade with,” Quinn wrote.
“The Warriors need a guard who can defend with De’Anthony Melton also potentially leaving in free agency, but we know the priority here will be a star addition, so if Moody is needed to make such a deal possible, he’s a potential casualty of Golden State’s bigger goals.”
