At training camp, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed a 10-year NFL safety who could compete for a bigger role over the next season.
On Saturday, the Steelers signed veteran safety Rayshawn Jenkins to a one-year deal following a successful workout with the team on Day 3 of training camp.
Jenkins, who was drafted by the Chargers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, went on to play four seasons with Los Angeles (2017-2020), three with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2021-2023), one with the Seattle Seahawks (2024), and one with the Cleveland Browns (2025).
The 2026 season will be Jenkins' 10th year in the NFL. Given his experience in a variety of different systems, Jenkins should make an instant impact as both a depth contributor and leader for Patrick Graham's defense.

Ricky Pearsall's 2026 season is over before it even started. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver will undergo season-ending surgery to treat a PCL injury that's nagged him since the 2025 campaign, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
After bursting out the gate with 16 catches and 281 yards in his first three games of 2025, Pearsall suffered the PCL injury and was never the same. The former first-round pick missed eight games with the injury and looked hampered upon his return, leading to more receiving work for Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle.

It's safe to say that Seattle Seahawks stars Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy are two of the best players at the defensive tackle position in the NFL.
CBS Sports released their top 10 rankings for every defensive position in the NFL on Thursday, and first ranked Williams No. 4 overall among all interior defensive linemen in the league.
"Williams has been an absolute steal for the Seahawks, who have had no shortage of them as part of their run to Super Bowl champs," CBS Sports' **** ysts said. "Acquired from the Giants for a third-rounder and a fifth-rounder, Williams has played at an All-Pro level the last two seasons."
Williams earned an All-Pro nod last season as a second-team honoree. He recorded seven sacks on the year and was one of the most technically sound and explosive players at the position.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — It was around Week 3 last season that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tory Horton felt something was wrong with his shin.
That didn't stop Horton from returning a punt 95 yards for a touchdown in the third game of his rookie season, or hauling in two touchdown catches against the Washington Commanders in November.
But, Horton knew he was playing through an injury, and learned there was a crack in his shin after getting his leg checked out. Horton underwent surgery on his leg in February after missing the second half of the 2025 season, and had a metal rod inserted into it.
"I felt like I let the team down a bit, not being able to go back out there as much as I wanted," Horton said Friday. "There were times I still tried to go out there and run some routes and the trainers had to tell me to take it easy. Dealing with a bone thing, you have to let that heal."
The plan was originally for Horton to return during the Seahawks' Super Bowl run, but that never transpired.

A former Ohio State Buckeye is retiring from the NFL after 12 seasons in the league. Defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, better known as "Big Hank," is calling it a career.
Hankins earned a starting spot in the trenches by his sophomore year at OSU. The **** e eater tallied 67 tackles with 11 tackles for loss and three sacks. In his junior season, Hankins totaled 55 tackles with four tackles for loss and one sack. He would enter the NFL draft and become a second-round pick of the New York Giants.
Over the course of the next 12 years, Hankins would play with a total of five different teams, including the Colts, Raiders, Cowboys, and Seahawks. He racked up 433 tackles with 44 tackles for loss, 18.5 sacks, 13 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and 13 pass breakups in 169 games. He finished his career with Seattle, although he would miss the entire 2025 season due to a back injury. After being waived in December, Big Hank decided to hang it up for good.
Hankins earned All-Big Ten and All-American honors while wearing the Scarlet and Gray.

The disrespect for the reigning Super Bowl LX champions Seattle Seahawks continues to grow. At this point, the growth is a daily feature. I'm talking specifically about the disrespect leveled at the Seahawks by the popular Madden video game franchise.
In the latest edition of the game, Madden 27, the team at EA Sports have been releasing their top 10 rankings for various positions, units and even teams. Seattle's elite defense was mightily disrespected earlier in the week, as Madden 27 had them as only the 10th best unit in the game. Out of the position rankings (defensive tackle, edge, linebacker, cornerback and safety) only one Seahawk - Devon Witherspoon - cracked the top 10 in any of those lists. Players like Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II, Ernest Jones IV, Julian Love and Nick Emmanwori were nowhere to be seen.
Now, the disrespect continues to an equally insulting degree. On Friday, Madden 27 released their top 10 rankings for teams overall. Yes, Seattle did make the cut... but only barely. According to Madden 27, the Seahawks are only the 10th best team in the game. As for those ahead of them, well, just take a look for yourselves.
The Seahawks obliterated the 49ers in the Divisional Round, outlasted the Rams in the NFCCG (one missed field goal from going 3-0 against them last year) and humiliated the Patriots in Super Bowl LX.

Last season, the Chicago Bears won many of their games in dramatic fashion. Quarterback Caleb Williams led the NFL in comeback wins last season with seven, including a thriller over the Green Bay Packers, which marked the Bears' their first playoff win since 2010.

It was a uniquely Seattle, Pacific Northwest Seahawks day.
The fifth day of training camp was the first day the players were in full pads. Full, real football, for the first time since they won Super Bowl 60 five months ago.
It was the first morning practice of camp. A blue, crystal clear sky. Sun and 74 degrees. Eagles soared from their nests next to the fields. The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels roared over practice on the lush, green grass fields along Lake Washington.
"I don't know if it gets much better than this," coach Mike Macdonald said Thursday, grinning proudly at what he gets to do. "Beautiful weather. Training camp. Pads on. Playing football. We've got bald eagles flying. We've got the Blue Angels in the sky. It's pretty awesome.
"We're very blessed. Pretty awesome day. Great practice. Guys were after it.
