The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially f beloellw .500 for the first time since March 1, and althought they won last night to get back to even, they are in the middle of a bad slump of games. A lot of chatter has been about how pitcher Paul Skenes isn’t playing as well and may already be slipping as a pro. While the season has been far from perfect for Skenes, there are way bigger problems for the Pirates and their fans to worry about.
First let’s get the obvious out of the way first; Skenes is having a rougher start to this season than in year’s past. At one point in Skenes’ career, it would be weird to even ******* ociate the number “2” with the pitcher and his ERA, as he posted below 2.00 in each of his first two seasons. The 24-year-old righty currently has a 2.85 ERA with a 6-6 record. He’s also already given up eight home runs this season, and at times has racked up his pitch count, spending long times on the mound fighting in an at-bat. The sheer dominance that Skenes has had over opponents previously has seemed to waver this year, and for the first time in the majors he has looked human more often than not.
Even given his “shortcomings” Skenes is far from being “washed” or a liability in the Pirates’ rotation. The fact of the matter is that most big league pitchers would be thrilled to be having the season that Skenes is having. Despite the shaky start to 2026, Skenes still has the fifth lowest WHIP in baseball while also holding claim to the sixth lowest H/AB in baseball and the fourth most strikeouts with 99.
The Pirates as a whole are flawed, with a lot of the microscope being focused on Skenes because of his All-Star status. Pittsburgh has lost six straight Skenes’ starts. In this span, Skenes has a 2.50 ERA per game, which is certainly high for the reigning National League Cy Young Award recipient. However, the Pirates lineup also has a minus-27 run differential in that time frame, with run support being hard to come by when Skenes is on the mound.
In his most recent start against the Miami Marlins, Skenes struck out 10 batters, retiring nine a row and set a career high in whiffs with 23. In that contest, he gave up two runs, both of which were homers, and the Pirates’ bats couldn’t generate more than two runs in support.

Falcons trade 2027 sixth-round pick to Chiefs for Wanya Morris, seventh-round pick | Atlanta Falcons
This is the second time this very offseason that the Falcons have gone to the offensive line well in Kansas City, having previously signed fellow tackle Jawaan Taylor earlier this offseason in the wake of Kaleb McGary’s retirement. Taylor had also been with the Chiefs since 2023, having started all 45 games he appeared in over the last three seasons. In fact, Morris spent much of his own time in Kansas City as a backup to Taylor.
Morris is a Georgia native and attended state football powerhouse Grayson High School before committing to Tennessee. He spent two seasons with the Volunteers before finishing his college career with Oklahoma. Morris was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the No. 92 overall pick.

Two years after winning their second top-flight **** le, Northampton Saints will return to Twickenham for a shot at a third - though for much of their squad, Saturday's Premiership final will be a first.
Of the 23 players in Saints' matchday squad for their thrilling semi-final victory over Leicester Tigers, 13 did not feature in the 2024 final against Bath.
Former skipper Courtney Lawes is among eight who played in that final to have exited the club since.
But while the personnel will have a different appearance for Saturday's final against Exeter (15:00 BST), winger Tommy Freeman still sees the same old Northampton.
"There's a lot of difference in terms of players and numbers and age but I wouldn't say it was too dissimilar on what we do," Freeman told BBC Radio Northampton.

After news broke that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund would cease backing LIV Golf beyond this season, putting its future in doubt, Jon Rahm was asked in May about the status of his contract with the tour. “I don’t see many ways out,” the 31-year-old Spaniard answered pragmatically.
Rahm’s next steps appear dependent on whether LIV can secure external funding to continue operating beyond this year—if its 2026 schedule can even be completed—but in the meantime, his golden handcuffs haven’t been so bad. Rahm’s contract, which reportedly guaranteed him at least $300 million when the former world No. 1 left the PGA Tour in December 2023 to sign with LIV, has made him the world’s highest-paid golfer for the third consecutive year.
Forbes estimates Rahm hauled in $111 million over the last 12 months before taxes and agent fees, sending his total pay for the past three years north of $400 million. His compensation since last June includes an estimated $101 million in prize money and on-course bonuses as well as $10 million in off-course earnings from brand partnerships, appearance fees and licensing income. In addition to his contractual guarantee with LIV, which Forbes estimates to be worth $50 million for the past year, Rahm pulled in an $18 million bonus in 2025 as LIV’s individual champion for the second year in a row, and he has won two tournaments so far this season, helping push his total up 9% from the estimated $102 million he pocketed in the 12 months that ended in June 2025.
As a whole, however, golf’s biggest stars have seen their paychecks dip. Together, the sport’s ten top earners have made an estimated $536 million since last year’s U.S. Open, down 12% from last year’s $612 million and 29% from the record $752 million of 2023, the first full year to incorporate LIV’s initial wave of massive signing bonuses.
The decline is in part the result of LIV golfers Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson dropping off the list, with their original 2022 contracts having expired or nearing completion. The embattled tour also hasn’t made any big-ticket additions to its roster recently, leaving Bryson Dechambeau (No. 4 among the world’s highest-paid golfers with $52 million) and Joaquin Niemann (tied for seventh with $34 million) as the only LIV golfers to make the cut other than Rahm.

Over the last year, Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio has been under investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the Canary Islands. The 23-year-old, as well as three former teammates from La Fabrica, is accused of having disseminated a ******* tape involving two women – one of them a minor – in Gran Canaria in the summer of 2023, but his involvement in the case could be about to end.
Previously, the Public Prosecutor’s Office had asked for a prison sentence of 2.5 years for Asencio over his alleged role in the incident, but according to Marca, this request could now be withdrawn. Mercedes Gil Castillo, who is leading the prosecution’s case, is prepared to let the Real Madrid man go, on the condition that he apologises in the trial to the two women who appear in the images.
Asencio has denied that he committed the crime of dissemination, which is why the Public Prosecutor’s Office has asked that he attends the trial in order to apologise to the two alleged victims. If he does so, the complaint against him will be withdrawn.

As per the report, Asencio sent a letter to the two alleged victims last year, in which he acknowledged that he made a mistake in showing the ******* tape to one of his friends. Gil Castillo was made aware of this, and while the women have accepted the private apology, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is asking for an apology in open court in order for the Real Madrid defender’s alleged involvement to be disregarded.

Leeds United are considering their legal options over a historic breach of Profit and Sustainability Rules by Leicester City.
The Yorkshire club were beaten to automatic promotion by Leicester in the 2023-24 season before going on to lose to Southampton in a Wembley play-off final.
Leicester were later charged with breaking spending rules.
A recent judgment has seen Everton ordered to pay Burnley £35m in compensation as a result of breaching spending rules. The Clarets argued the issue played a part in them being unable to avoid Premier League relegation when battling against Everton for survival in the 2021-22 campaign.
The Toffees have appealed the decision after stating the club was "surprised and angered" by the ruling.

Atlanta Falcons edge rusher James Pearce Jr., the team’s sacks leader as a rookie in 2025, has returned to the practice facility for Tuesday’s start of mandatory minicamp following a tumultuous offseason.
Pearce’s future with the team seemed uncertain when he faced three felony charges stemming from what police called a domestic dispute on Feb. 7 with his ex-girlfriend, WNBA player Rickea Jackson, near Miami.

On April 23, one of Pearce’s attorneys, Jacob Nunez, said Pearce agreed to enter a pretrial intervention program which would allow him to resolve the felony charges. Nunez said if Pearce completes a six-month diversion program without violation, the state of Florida will dismiss all charges.
Pearce was not with the team for the start of the voluntary offseason program in April.

Greenskeeper **** et Management, an independent firm that specializes in disciplined value investing, recently released its Q1 2026 scorecard. A copy is available to download here. The Middle East conflict triggered a sharp stock sell-off in the market, resulting in the Greenskeeper Value Fund posting a -8.1% return in Q1. Despite this challenging quarter, the fund took the opportunity to reinforce its portfolio. Please review the Fund's top five holdings to gain insights into their key selections for 2026.
In its first-quarter 2026 investor letter, Greenskeeper **** et Management highlighted stocks like ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR). ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) is a clinical research organization that provides outsourced development and commercialization services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. On June 12, 2026, ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) stock closed at $146.18 per share. One-month return of ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) was 28.48%, and its shares lost 0.58% over the past 52 weeks. ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) has a market capitalization of about $11.19 billion.
Greenskeeper **** et Management stated the following regarding ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) in its Q1 2026 investor letter:
"ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) -39.3% was our primary detractor this quarter following the February announcement of an internal Audit Committee investigation into revenue recognition practices from 2023 through 2025. While the market's reaction was severe, we believe it was an overreaction. Management anticipates the revenue restatement will be less than 2% for each affected year. While disappointing, we believe this issue was an internal matter and will not have any material long-term impact on ICLR's ability to serve its customers. It is also unlikely to have a material impact on the company's $1 billion of free cash flow. We used the selloff as an opportunity to increase our position, and the stock has already begun to rebound. As the pharmaceutical environment continues to improve, we remain confident that the company will capture its fair share of clinical trial activity. With the stock trading at roughly 10x trailing earnings, we believe that the shares remain materially undervalued."
ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 49 hedge fund portfolios held ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) at the end of the first quarter, up from 41 in the previous quarter. While we acknowledge the potential of ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best

NVDA surged 420% from the inflection Maguire maps ***** eX to; RKLB, the closest public launch proxy, has already climbed 320% over the past year.
Maguire's 'hold forever' stance is backed by a 2029 to 2030 revenue model, but he holds at Sequoia's cost basis while public investors do not.
Don't wait: the ***** yst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just revealed his top 10 AI stocks. See the full list FREE now.
Sequoia Capital partner Shaun Maguire went on CNBC last week and said ***** eX (NASDAQ:SPCX), freshly trading, looks to him "more like Nvidia three years ago" than Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA). He also said he plans to hold his shares "forever." Sequoia is a longtime ***** eX backer, so the incentive to talk his book is obvious. Still, the comparison is worth unpacking because it is a specific claim about where ***** eX sits on the curve, and the curve has a recent, very expensive precedent.
Three years ago, in June 2023, NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) traded at a split-adjusted $39.41. The AI thesis was contested, hyperscaler capex was just beginning to inflect, and bears framed the stock as a cyclical chip name riding a temporary GPU shortage. Since then, NVIDIA shares are up 419.89%, the company carries a $4.95 trillion market cap, and Q1 FY27 data center revenue alone hit $75.25 billion, up 92% year over year. CEO Jensen Huang called the buildout "the largest infrastructure expansion in human history." You can read the underlying 8-K here.

The king of fast food has officially been dethroned.
For the first time in more than a decade, Chick-fil-A is no longer the top-rated quick-service restaurant, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), which rates eateries based on thousands of customer surveys reflecting on recent experiences with major chains.
After an 11-year run, results from 16,464 respondents knocked the chicken chain from its coveted spot in favor of sandwich shop Jersey Mike's, which was commended for its freshness, food variety and value. Securing an ACSI score of 84 out of 100, Jersey Mike's edged Chick-fil-A out by one point after adding 238 net new locations in 2025 and clearing $4.2 billion in sales.
"The U.S. restaurant industry faced difficulties in 2025, with total sales struggling to keep pace with inflation," said the report published Tuesday, June 16. "In a market defined by trade-offs, customers are placing greater emphasis on consistency, reliability, and perceived value as opposed to just price. Brands that deliver a consistently enjoyable experience are gaining ground."

AUBURN — There could be plenty of Auburn baseball involved in this year's MLB Draft combine, as the league announced 334 expected attendees for the event, which is set to take place June 23-25.
Three Tigers — Alex Petrovic, Chris Rembert and Eric Guevara — are expected to take part, as well as four commitments to Auburn's incoming freshman class.
Rembert, a draft-eligible sophomore, has been Auburn's starting second baseman the past two seasons, and the first team All-SEC honoree is considered the 41st-best player in this year's draft, according to MLB.com. Guevara, who's started for Auburn at third base the last two years, was the Tigers' third-leading hitter this spring. Petrovic became part of Auburn's weekend rotation in 2026, and he led the program's qualifying pitchers in ERA, WHIP and opponent batting average.
Of Auburn's four commitments set to participate — AJ Rice, Coleman Borthwick, Jace Mataczynski and Ty Tillery — just Borthwick and Rice are considered top-200 prospects, listed at 32nd and 121st, respectively, on the MLB's big board.

Van Hecke has one-year left on his contract at the South Coast side, with the deal reported to be around £52 million. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Cooper Pratt has reached the major leagues 2 ½ months after the Milwaukee Brewers signed the shortstop prospect to an eight-year, $50.75 million contract.
The Brewers called the 21-year-old Pratt up from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday before opening a three-game series with the Cleveland Guardians. They made room for Pratt by designating third baseman Luis Rengifo for ***** ignment.
Brewers officials showed their faith in Pratt when they signed him on April 3 to an eight-year deal that includes club options for 2034 and 2035. The $50.75 million contract includes escalators that could raise the value by $10 million if he repeatedly finishes high in MVP voting and the team exercises those two options.
Pratt won a Gold Glove as the top shortstop in the minor leagues in 2024 and has continued to play outstanding defense ever since. His hitting is more of a work in progress.
Pratt was hitting .241 with a .349 on-base percentage, six homers, 32 RBIs and 17 steals in 58 games with Triple-A Nashville this season. He batted .238 with a .343 on-base percentage, eight homers, 62 RBIs and 31 steals in 120 games with Double-A Biloxi last year.

A German politician has said the German Cup final between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart should have been abandoned after fans from both camps made use of large amounts of pyrotechnics during the second half.
The May 23 match in Berlin's Olympic Stadium was halted for a few minutes due to the smoke but it was then completed, with Bayern winning 3-0. Munich and Stuttgart fans had set off the pyrotechnics after chants against the domestic federation DFB.
Herbert Reul, the interior minister of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, said told Der Sgiegel magazine he was “stunned” that referee Sven Jablonski allowed the match to continue.
“I would have been in favour of calling off the match because some people only understand in this way that they have crossed a line,” Reul said.
Reul was speaking ahead of Wednesday's start of a conference of interior ministers from the 16 German states, with safety and security at football matches part of the agenda. Der Spiegel said that concrete measures are not named.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker had a rough start to his career in Los Angeles, but Manager Dave Roberts says he’s come around in recent weeks.
Tucker’s OPS has hovered around league average all season, and he has drawn plenty of criticism after signing a four-year, $240 million contract with the Dodgers in the offseason. He looked to have settled in during Monday’s win against the Tampa Bay Rays, though, as he went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs.
“He’s not a very talkative person, but I will say that he, the last few weeks, he’s really opened up with his teammates, with the coaches, and I think he’s freeing himself up, being more comfortable,” Roberts said. “But he cares. He’s working hard, trying his tail off, and he was frustrated, obviously, during the last homestand. So to get back to feeling like you’ve got a fighting chance, I think he’s in a better head ******* e.”
On the year, Tucker is batting .239 with a .725 OPS. He has six homers and 39 RBIs this season, also tallying 16 doubles for second-most on the team this season. While his numbers certainly aren’t the worst, Tucker’s standards after seven successful MLB seasons must be higher.
His batting average and slugging percentage would be his lowest since 2018, when he spent just 28 games in the majors. His on-base percentage of .337 is also passable, but he hasn’t finished a season with a mark that low since 2022.

As the 2027 NFL Draft cycle begins to take shape, ESPN draft ****** yst Jordan Reid recently identified Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa as one of the toughest linebacker prospects to evaluate entering the season.
According to Reid, there may not be a linebacker he enjoyed studying more on film. Despite making only two starts during the 2025 season, Viliamu-Asa consistently flashed the traits NFL teams covet, including effort, physicality, instincts, and closing speed. The biggest concern entering the year is health after suffering a torn ACL against Syracuse last November.
If he returns healthy, however, the Notre Dame defender has a chance to emerge as one of the premier linebackers in college football heading into the 2027 NFL Draft.
The former five-star recruit took a significant step forward during his sophomore campaign. According to PFF, Viliamu-Asa earned an outstanding 89.7 overall defensive grade in 2025 after posting a 67.6 mark the year before. He recorded 48 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and generated 23 quarterback pressures despite playing only 435 snaps.
His production extended well beyond the box score. Viliamu-Asa posted a 94.0 run-defense grade, a 15.2 percent run-stop rate, and held opposing quarterbacks to a 55.0 passer rating when targeted. He also allowed just 6.5 yards per reception, reinforcing the versatility that shows up throughout his film.

You know that suit that John Tortorella left behind at the hotel in Raleigh last week? He can go back and claim it any time he wants. Because time is a commodity he now has plenty of.
The fiery 67-year-old who helped turn the Vegas Golden Knights’ season around and guided the team on its long Stanley Cup Playoff run only to fall two games short of defeating the Carolina Hurricanes, will not return to the bench at T-Mobile Arena this fall. The team announced Tuesday it is partying ways with Torts and is moving on to what will be the fifth head coach for the team’s 10th anniversary season come October.
The smart money is on Ryan Craig, the current head coach of the AHL Henderson Silver Knights, who has been with the team since its inception and was an ******* istant on Bruce Cassidy’s Stanley Cup-winning staff in 2023. He’s a good guy, a smart hockey person and has put in his time as both an ******* istant at the NHL level and as a head coach in the AHL. Many of the players know him, especially the younger ones like Braeden Bowman, Kaedan Korczak, and others who played for Craig in Henderson. He’s ready to take over in Vegas.
Torts? This was likely a short-term solution from the outset. General manager Kelly McCrimmon will tell you that when he speaks on the matter Wednesday morning at City National Arena. Torterella was willing to leave the comfort of the ESPN studio to get back behind the bench because that’s what coaches do. Look no further than Cassidy, who has said publicly that he wants to get back to work. And now that the Golden Knights’ season is over, perhaps he’ll be free to pursue that opportunity, perhaps in Toronto where the Maple Leafs are still searching for Craig Berube’s replacement.
And while Tortorella performed admirably in an interim role when he took over with eight games remaining, going 7-0-1 and taking Vegas to the Stanley Cup Final, perhaps it has opened the door for yet another chance down the road. He’s coached six different NHL teams — Tampa Bay, Columbus, the Rangers, Vancouver, Philadelphia and Vegas — so someone might be willing to bring him on board in the hopes he can do for them what he did for the Golden Knights, which was revive and breathe new life into a team that had stagnated.
He deserves full marks for what he did. The majority of the players loved playing for him and said so Tuesday on locker room cleanout day at City National Arena.
“It’s a tough situation for a coach to come in with that little time left,” said defenseman Noah Hanifin. “Just the way he was able to get us back on the right track fast and give us a chance was pretty impressive.”
Goaltender Carter Hart, who played the entire playoffs in the Vegas net and who had played for Tortorella when they were together in Philadelphia, said: “He keeps things black and white. He’s a super honest man and coach and I think as a player that’s all you can ask for is complete honesty and transparency.”

Tortorella always said he was
