In our weekly FanDuel Sportsbook survey, we asked San Francisco 49ers fans whether the team should part ways with John Lynch if the team misses the playoffs in 2026.
The 49ers would likely need to suffer multiple injuries at critical positions once again to miss the playoffs. Depending on where you look, the Niners are projected to finish anywhere between the top three and the top five teams in the NFC. The expectation is for them to make the postseason.
Even if there were injuries, disappointments, or shortcomings of some sort, 49ers fans are still willing to give general manager John Lynch grace if the team doesn't make the playoffs in 2026.
That makes it seem like the question was silly and should've never been posed. The 49ers have been one of the most successful franchises this decade. They've made the playoffs multiple times, including appearances in the NFC Championship and Super Bowl.
For as much flak as the organization has received for some of their top draft picks not panning out, not enough credit has been given for the team's willingness to move on when they've realized they've made a mistake.

Fraternal twins Iman and Jihan Qamhiyeh have their sights set on playing basketball at the highest level, and their talent is already attracting attention from college programs before they begin high school.
The twins, who recently graduated from eighth grade, have received six Division I offers, according to Buchanan High School head coach Adam Wall.
"Yeah, the word's getting out about their game and how they play," Wall said.
Iman and Jihan, both 6-foot-1, have spent years competing in travel basketball, participating in twice-daily workouts and training in high-level practices. Their dedication has translated into success on the court against top competition.
"One time we were shopping and someone was like: 'Oh are you shopping for college?' I was like, 'I'm in eighth grade,' and they were like, ' What the heck," the twins said.

Maresca says he feels “back home” and describes his return to the Etihad Stadium as “a privilege”
The new Man City boss says he considers Guardiola “the best coach in the world in the last 20, 25 years”
Maresca highlights that Man City have had just three managers in 17 years as a source of confidence
Enzo Maresca has spoken publicly for the first time as Manchester City head coach, describing his return to the Etihad Stadium as feeling like coming home and outlining the responsibility he feels in succeeding Pep Guardiola.
The 46-year-old addressed the media in his first press conference as City manager, touching on the privilege of the role, the challenge of following one of football’s greatest ever coaches, and the stability that has defined Manchester City’s managerial structure across the past decade and a half.

INDIANAPOLIS — Five-time Brickyard 400 winner Jeff Gordon has returned to one of the most important places in his racing life — this time as the centerpiece of history.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum has opened "Jeff Gordon," its newest rotating exhibition, marking the first time the museum has dedicated an entire exhibit to a single NASCAR driver. The exhibit traces Gordon's journey from quarter midgets and sprint cars to becoming a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and the winningest driver in Brickyard 400 history.
"It's more than a dream come true," Gordon said. "You just hope as a young kid who becomes a race car driver that you get to do it professionally, that you can have success doing it professionally, and do it as long as possible and stay healthy doing it. I got to do that and a whole lot more."
Open through February, the exhibit features 13 race cars spanning every stage of Gordon's career, more than 70 helmets and never-before-displayed artifacts, including his first bicycle racing trophy, the first Jeff Gordon T-shirt, the firesuit from his first sprint car victory and the Williams Formula One steering wheel he used during his 2003 seat swap with Juan Pablo Montoya at IMS.
"I look at this room and walk through the timeline, and that's what comes back is just all the dreams and the hard work and everything paying off," Gordon said.

GIVEMESPORT report Harry Kane is set to sign a contract extension at FC Bayern after productive discussions. The 33-year-old striker is entering the last year of his contract at the Rekordmeister.
According to Ben Jacobs, Kane will resume talks with FC Bayern this summer regarding the new deal. FC Barcelona and Al-Hilal both enquired about the England captain, but they understand the situation that Kane wants to stay in Bundesliga.
FC Bayern are relaxed about Kane’s future as there are no options to trigger the previous €65 million release clause reported by some outlets this summer. Kane is a strong candidate to win the 2025/26 Ballon d’Or after his strong campaigns with FC Bayern and England.
Kane scored 64 goals for Bayern since the start of the Club World Cup last summer. In total, he found the net 146 times in 147 appearances for the Bavarians. He became England's all-time top-scorer in the World Cup after his six goals helped the Three Lions to their best-ever finish since the 1966 triumph.

NEW YORK (AP) — While the Yankees still are missing Aaron Judge, Gerrit Cole and Max Fried pitched together in New York's rotation for first time and their numbers add to the injured captain's 99.
Displaying $542 million worth of aces, the Yankees sent the pair to the mound in a doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Cole didn't get a decision in Wednesday's opening 5-3, 10-inning loss, striking out 11 — his highest total in three years — while allowing three runs over seven innings. Fried came off the injured list for the night game and pitched five innings of one-hit ball in a 2-0 win.
“I think you saw a master class today,” fellow Yankees pitcher Will Warren said.
New York manager Aaron Boone had long envisioned Cole (No. 45) and Fried (54) following each other to the mound.

According to reports from both Sky Germany and Sport BILD, Maximilian Wöber will complete a move to FC Schalke 04 shortly.
The 28-year-old is under contract with Leeds United, but is already in Austria and trained individually at the training camp on Tuesday.
Today he successfully completed his medical examination and is expected to sign a performance-based contract.
Wöber played on loan at Werder Bremen last season, but only made four appearances due ongoing injuries curtailing his involvement.
Werder therefore did not exercise their €4million purchase option. Prior to that he played on loan for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

It's a no-brainer that whenever Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry decides to hang it up for good, he'll be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on the first ballot.
In case his career statistics and accolades didn't signal that, the Basketball Hall of Fame practically ensured it when they announced that the four-time NBA champion will have his own exhibit, marking the first time an active player was honored with a dedicated experience.
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame will introduce its newest exhibit on Friday, July 24, which will be dedicated to the 12-time NBA All-Star, two-time MVP, Olympic gold medalist, four-time NBA champion and the undisputed greatest shooter of all time.
This development is a part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame acclaimed gallery called "The Vault."
The exhibit is called "Stephen Curry: Beyond the Arc" and it showcases Curry's prowess on and off the court. In a creative partnership with Curry's Thirty Ink business team, the exhibit will showcase Curry's legacy as a basketball icon, entrepreneur, philanthropist and family man.
