Fiorentina have made an approach for Jadon Sancho following his Manchester United exit. The 26-year-old winger was on loan at Aston Villa last season, yet despite being part of the Europa League-winning squad, he couldn't convince United to offer a new deal.
Now, a shock offer seems to be on its way to the free agent, as Fiorentina are keen to table a three-year deal. La Viola's sporting director Fabio Paratici has allegedly been a Sancho admirer for a while, yet the terms on offer will certainly have to be lower than the €10 million net total the former England international earned until last season.
Sancho hasn't yet given a response, but his team will be ready to resolve any concerns in the coming hours. Last year, he turned down a move to Roma, as Gian Piero Gasperini expressly asked Frederic Massara for him. While he chose to stay in the Premier League for the remainder of that term, it now looks like he'll leave England.

Jaelan Phillips was already going to be shouldering a heavy load for the Carolina Panthers defense this year. The four-year, $120 million contract he signed in March was the biggest for player in free agency—even more than former sack champion Trey Hendrickson got from the Baltimore Ravens.
And now, after Thursday's news revealed that fellow starting outside linebacker Nic Scourton would miss the entire 2026 season due to an ACL tear, the pressure is even greater.
From Phillips' perspective, he's focused on turning his high pressure rate into more sacks. Here's what he told NFL Network national reporter Cameron Wolfe after the opening session of training camp:
Phillips entered the 2025 campaign with a career high of 8.5 sacks, which he posted during his rookie season in 2021. Last year, he managed just 5.0 while playing a full 17-game slate between the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles.

It marked the beginning of an uneven training-camp performance for Young. The defense captured all three two-minute segments to close the session on the practice fields behind Bank of America Stadium.
The end of practice was highlighted by rookie Will Lee III creating the day's highlight moment with a final-play interception.

Real Madrid have plans to sign a second central defender this summer to come in alongside Ibrahima Konate, who joined from Liverpool at the start of the month. Head coach Jose Mourinho wants another player to choose from when the 2026-27 season gets underway next month, and he’s set his sights on someone from one of his former clubs.
Earlier in the summer, it was reported that Real Madrid had set their sights on Alessandro Bastoni. The Inter Milan and Italy defender is appreciated by Mourinho, who sees him as the ideal final piece for his defensive options. And according to the player’s agent (via Diario AS), there would be a desire to make a move happen in 2026, although there is also no obvious rush to leave the Nerazzurri.
“Bastoni has two years left on his contract with Inter, he loves these colours and right now he is not considering signing for another club. If in the future a club appeared that satisfied both Inter and the player, we could talk about it, but right now there is nothing concrete to suggest a real negotiation. I don’t think he has ever considered leaving Italy.”
David Alaba had been the only natural left-sided option for Real Madrid up until his exit earlier this summer, so it makes a lot of sense to secure an appropriate replacement. Bastoni would certainly be that, so it would be smart if the club’s sporting department were to make a serious effort to agree terms with Inter in the coming weeks.
It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid and Mourinho can get their man. For now, the club is happy to focus on exits, although there is sure to be more incoming activity sooner rather than later.

Yesterday, Manchester City finally unveiled Elliot Anderson. The England international spoke on a wide range of topics after finally making his move to the FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders official. One of those was the inspiration that Anderson has taken from Kevin De Bruyne. Anderson revealed that De Bruyne was a player that he looked up to as he rose through the ranks at Newcastle, and he is overjoyed to play at the club that De Bruyne starred for. He explained: "I think Kevin De Bruyne is someone who I've hugely looked up to over the past seven or eight years. As I came up through the academy at Newcastle, I always wanted to play like him."
"I've watched him all the time and to be sat here in the same team he was doing it for is so special."

The locker room was quiet.
The California Redwoods had just lost to the Maryland Whipsnakes by a staggering score of 20-7. Players were frustrated, but it wasn’t the kind of disgruntlement where players cursed, yelled or hit lockers.
It was more to the chagrin of the players feeling, in that moment, that they had no answer for what had just happened.

LOS ANGELES -- The Sparks have been so close so many times. But in the end, they don't reach the finish line.
The Sparks were rallying back against the Mercury. They had a chance to tie or take the lead with 20 seconds left but Dearica Hamby missed what could've been the equalizing lay-up. The Mercury were able to get the rebound and Monique Akoa Makani converted a fastbreak lay-up with 14 seconds left to put the game out of reach. That would end up being the final score, 86-82, Mercury.
That play alone didn't lose the Sparks the game; L.A. had trouble once again with holding on to the ball. It's a recurring theme for the team as they had 18 turnovers against Mercury.
"I think just our execution needs to be better, attention to detail, our communication defensively," Sparks coach Lynne Roberts said. "They weren't doing anything that we didn't show on film and go over. We just got to be locked in. I felt like we were a little bit reactive defensively down the stretch rather than proactive.
"Yeah, it's just execution. Coming out of a timeout, executing what we just talked about," Roberts continued. "Yeah, being able to do what we're supposed to do."
