From then on, a series of ups and downs began for the club, which first brought in Ivan Juric and then Claudio Ranieri, but the season still ended with the club securing a Europa League spot.
Fans, however, remained discontented at seeing a club legend treated so poorly. Even more disappointed than the fans was De Rossi himself, who gave an interview to Cronache di Spogliatoio.
In a brief excerpt, the former midfielder commented on his dismissal: "I was furious. I had my 'enemies' and I felt defeated in a battle I didn't have time to fight. But I never wanted to show that I was getting jealous. I only did it once in a press conference at Spal, and I regretted it. I've worked hard on these things."

Cecilia Cavallin has renewed her contract with Juventus until 2029, and will spend the 2026/27 season on loan with Parma.
The 21-year-old forward joined Juventus in January 2025, and spent the remainder of that 2024/25 campaign on loan with H&D Chievo Women.
In 2025/26, she continued her development with another loan spell at Bologna, and she will return to Emilia-Romagna for another year, though this time in Serie A Women with Parma.

New England Patriots rookie edge rusher Gabe Jacas did not report to training camp.
The second-round pick defender has still yet to sign his rookie contract. It's a concerning situation with no end in sight, although Patriots coach Mike Vrabel did offer a little optimism when speaking with media members on Friday.
"We're continuing to work through the contract," Vrabel said. "I think those have been positive between the club and his representatives. Hopefully, we'll get him in here sooner rather than later. I'm not going to put a timeline on it or a timeframe, but I've spoken to Gabe personally. Excited to get him in when he's under contract."
When pressed for a reason for the hold-up, Vrabel wouldn't give a straight answer.
"Every contract is unique, every contract is different, and it'll get resolved. I'm positive that it will," said Vrabel.

Polish tennis player, Iga Swiatek, is the WTA World No. 8 ranked player. At 25, she is a former World No. 1, winner of six Grand Slams, 25 ****** les, and the 2024 Paris Olympics bronze medalist.
Swiatek enters the hardcourt as the reigning Cincinnati Open champion and US Open mixed doubles finalist (with Casper Ruud).

The Los Angeles Rams will debut their new Classic Sol alternate uniforms when they host the New York Giants in Week 2 of the 2026 season. The Monday Night Football matchup is set for September 21 at SoFi Stadium.
The Classic Sol uniform features a gold jersey with royal triple striping on the sleeves and block-style numbers. It is paired with white pants that carry a traditional blue-gold-blue triple stripe down each side. The Rams will use their standard blue-and-gold helmet, updated only with a simplified nose ***** per graphic drawn from the club’s 1951 NFL Championship banner.
The look pays tribute to the Rams’ 1951 championship team on the 75th anniversary of that ***** le. It marks the franchise’s first gold jersey since the 2015 Color Rush set and the first appearance of this specific design since the NFL’s 75th anniversary uniforms in 1994.
The Rams also plan to wear the Classic Sol combination in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
For Giants fans, the Week 2 primetime visit will offer the first live look at the new alternate.
