Polish open-water swimmer Bartlomiej Kubkowski has swum across the Baltic Sea from Sweden to Poland. The 160-kilometre journey took him 55 hours.
The 31-year-old started his swim from Kåseberga in Sweden on Friday. On Sunday evening, he staggered ashore, completely exhausted, in Dziwnow, Poland, east of Świnoujście, according to footage that his team took to document the swim.
In between lay more than two days and two nights, during which Kubkowski battled against waves, wind and the cold. He did not touch the support boat, did not go ashore anywhere nor did he rest.
The swimmer, nicknamed 'Robbe', was fed food and drink on skewers by his support team. During the second night, Kubkowski suffered from hallucinations at times, as his team reported on Instagram. Yet, cheered on by his fans, he made it to the finish line.
The extreme crossing, known as the Ultra Baltic Swim, was for a good cause with Kubkowski raising funds for the Cancer Fighter Foundation.

Caitlin Clark found herself facing questions that had little to do with basketball following the Indiana Fever's 108-100 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday.
Asked about the transgender athlete controversy involving teammate Sophie Cunningham, the three-time All-Star declined to take a public position, saying there are more appropriate forums for that discussion.
Clark's response prompted an Outkick writer to resurface an old quote from Clark about men competing against women.
Clark's past comments about the difference between NBA and WNBA players have resurfaced, but this time, in a much different conversation.
An interview the Fever star gave in May is now drawing renewed attention after Outkick writer Jon Root cited it while discussing the ongoing debate over transgender athletes competing in women's sports. Root argued that Clark's own words could have answered one of the WNBA's most polarizing questions.

Sophie Cunningham has been at the center of the WNBA discourse over the last few weeks. In the wake of her comments on transgender athletes, a debate has swept across the entire league, with players, coaches, and organizations chipping in with their opinions.
Despite Cunningham's polarizing presence, the Indiana Fever were starting to come together as a team. Unfortunately, that hot streak came to an end against the Minnesota Lynx when a call against her became a hot topic.
The Fever came into the game against Minnesota having won five-straight games. However, the 25-6 Lynx proved to be too much for Indiana, as they took care of business with a 108-100 win.
Midway through the second quarter, though, the game was a far tighter affair. Leading by three, Minnesota had possession of the ball when Cunningham got tussled up with Nia Coffey. What seemed like an errant elbow from the fifth overall pick of the 2017 WNBA draft was instead called a foul on Cunningham.
"It's a defensive foul," the referee declared. "There was no secondary act after the defensive foul. Play resumes with Minnesota ball on the sideline." However, even the broadcasting crew did not agree with the game officials' ****** sment.

WORCESTER — With Boston Red Sox brass and fans in wait-and-see mode around Monday's 6 p.m. MLB trade deadline, the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox will welcome Lehigh Valley nearly 24 hours later to kick off a six-game homestand at Polar Park.
As all eyes and ears fixate on rumors swirling around the Red Sox, and what Boston chief baseball officer Craig Breslow is (or isn't) doing heading into the trade deadline, the WooSox cruised to their fifth-straight win on Sunday in Norfolk, Va.
While no big moves were made (as of Monday morning) involving anyone from AAA Worcester, the Red Sox' recent resurgence in the standings flipped the franchise from pretenders to contenders at the deadline — which makes what's happening with the WooSox a little more pressing at the moment.
So, while we wait for any more news to break with Boston (and possibly Worcester), here's a look at the upcoming WooSox homestand and promotional schedule, which includes a Ceddanne Rafaela Bobblehead giveaway:
Tuesday (6:45 p.m.): Taco & Tequila Tuesday, presented by Teremana; Tail Waggin' Tuesday (fans can bring their dogs); AARP Ticket Tuesday; Wepa Night, presented by Modelo and La Mega 106.1 celebrating Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.

The Los Angeles Lakers made a few polarizing moves this offseason to upset fans hoping to have an easier path towards NBA Championship contention. One common criticism comes from Lakers fans unsure of why the team paid one of their bigger contracts to Collin ******* ton. The team already has Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves as starters who will dominate the guard minutes.
Sexton likely knows of the criticism surrounding his name and shared the following promise to Lakers fans:
"I'm super excited to be a part of this organization and this team. You can expect someone who's going to come in every single day with energy and juice, ready to give it my all. You'll know you've got a dog on the court.
It's the Lakers, you know, it's so much going on here, so much history in the building. I feel like they're the best fans in the world. So, being able to go out there and put that jersey on each and every night, it's going to be a good time for sure."
The quote shows that ******* ton wants Lakers fans to know he is taking this opportunity seriously and wants to give his all. Winning is most important to ******* ton, and this will be one of his most noteworthy roles yet. ******* ton, Quentin Grimes, and Walker Kessler are the biggest additions needed to pan out for success.

Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve shared the details of her pregame chat with Indiana Fever role player Sophie Cunningham.
The Lynx stayed atop the WNBA standings with a 108-100 winover the Fever on Friday night, but the game had a lot of off-court attention surrounding it due to Cunningham sparking the women's sports debate.
Lynx coach Reeve wore a 'Trans Kids Belong' t-shirt to the game in direct response to Cunningham's comments, having a chat with the polarising Fever star before the game.
While Reeve made her support for trans women clear, she also admitted she had an honest conversation with Cunningham, which basically ended with both agreeing to disagree on the current issue at hand.
"It was great. I think both of us understand that we have platforms. We both talked about wanting to relay things and educate. There were some things about us in common, and some were different, just like any issue. I think it's how you handle things."

Interested in Polaris Renewable Energy Inc.? Here are five stocks we like better.
Second-quarter generation fell 7.7% year over year, while revenue declined 5% and adjusted EBITDA dropped 11%, primarily due to Dominican Republic curtailment, lower Nicaragua geothermal output and more normal hydro conditions in Peru and Ecuador.
Dominican Republic curtailment improved to 29% in the quarter from 42% in Q1, while Nicaragua's binary plant operated about 0.75 MW below capacity; Polaris expects a potential recovery through an acidification program in early 2027.
Polaris is advancing growth projects, including the Puerto Rico ASAP battery project targeted for mid-2027 operation and 250 MW of solar capacity in Mexico with battery storage. Management estimates the Mexican projects could generate roughly $25 million to $30 million in combined EBITDA.
Polaris Renewable Energy (TSE:PIF) reported lower second-quarter generation and financial results compared with an exceptionally strong period a year earlier, as curtailment in the Dominican Republic, normalizing hydrological conditions and expected geothermal declines weighed on output.

CM Punk and Cody Rhodes faced off for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2026.
Randy Orton made a shocking return to WWE SummerSlam 2026, hitting an RKO on Cody Rhodes before CM Punk was able to capitalize with a fifth GTS. Randy Orton as a heel will add some much-needed balance to the WWE roster, but Orton is a legend who was cheered upon his return and will be cheered as a heel.
Suddenly, WWE has a heel problem.
Cody Rhodes and CM Punk told a very good story in what is becoming a stale formula of babyfaces battling for world **** les in big matches. Rhodes faced WWE legend Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42 Night 1, who was cheered so much as a babyface leading up to the event WWE paired him with Pat McAfee in a polarizing decision.
CM Punk returned to a rousing ovation in his hometown of Chicago to regain the WWE Championship with a win over Sami Zayn, who held the **** le for just nine days. Punk faced fellow babyface Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania Night 1, and Reigns will take on fellow babyface in the main event of SummerSlam Night 2.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the 2026 Hall of Honor class, featuring three legends who have contributed to the Steel City brand of football in a major way.
On Saturday, the Steelers announced that former general manager Kevin Colbert, offensive guard turned beloved radio personality Craig Wolfley, and cornerback J.T. Thomas would be inducted into the Hall of Honor. The 2026 Hall of Honor class will be welcomed during the Steelers' Week 3 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 27.
Colbert, who served as the Steelers' director of football operations (2000-2010), general manager (2010-2016), and vice president in addition to his GM role (2016-2022), played a big part in shaping a talented Pittsburgh roster during the 2010s, including home-run picks like Ben Roethlisberger, Troy Polamalu, Maurkice Pouncey, Antonio Brown, Cameron Heyward, T.J. Watt, and more.
Wolfley, who was drafted by the Steelers in the fifth round of the 1980 NFL Draft, made 102 starts during his 10-year stint in Pittsburgh. He served as a sideline reporter for the Steelers Radio Network from 2002 to 2020 before taking over as the Steelers' color commentator on radio broadcasts from 2021 to 2025. Wolfley passed away at age 66 on March 10, 2025, but his legacy will forever live on in our hearts.
Thomas, a four-time Super Bowl champion and a one-time Pro Bowler, was selected by the Steelers in the first round of the 1973 NFL Draft. Playing with the Steelers from 1973 to 1981 and with the Denver Broncos in 1982, Thomas appeared in 125 career games and made 89 starts. During his 10-year NFL career, Thomas recorded 20 interceptions.

The Raiders haven't gotten a lot of immediate contributions from their rookies classes that past couple years. That must change this year as they look to get off to a fast start in their rebuild. In the spirit of that, let's look at what we've seen from their rookie class through the first three days of training camp.
Day one of camp, Mendoza took the field as the newly minted backup to Kirk Cousins. This after Mendoza had been the number three QB throughout offseason workouts. He looks smooth playing under center and throws a very good ball. Each day he seems to be asked to make tougher throws and he has kept pace well. As of yet, he has not thrown an interception. Mendoza has said he has a long way to go to fully absorbing the playbook and having full command of the offense, but is feeling fairly comfortable already.
He was drafted to challenge for either a safety job or nickel cornerback spot. Perhaps a hybrid role like Jeremy Chinn played last season. As of yet, the first team safeties have consistently been Chinn and fellow incumbent starter Isaiah Pola-Mao with veteran addition Taron Johnson nailing down the nickel corner job. But lots of camp still to see if Stukes can earn more reps, perhaps with the first team.
He has been pretty routinely running with the third team and until pads go on, he won't have a shot to change that.
He was a college tackle who was projected as a center and drafted as a guard. The Raiders have been testing his versatility, playing him as the second team center behind Tyler Linderbaum and third team right guard behind Jackson Powers-Johnson and Caleb Rogers. Zuhn has had his struggles with giving up pressure inside and Friday he launched a snap way over Fernando Mendoza's head. Yeah, he's still working out the kinks.

One of the most polarizing topics in sports media is sports betting. Advertisements for sportsbooks are everywhere. NFL, NBA, MLB, and even NCAA broadcasts all seem to have not-so-secret relationships with betting companies.
There is a fine line, however, between partnering with sportsbooks and creating potential conflicts of interest. A prominent NFL insider is now facing scrutiny for his involvement in the sports betting industry.

Rich Paul thinks Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe will benefit from playing with LeBron James originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Across his 23 years in the NBA, LeBron James has always been a positive presence for a lot of players. This includes the younger players, who have learned from him. New Philadelphia 76ers teammate VJ Edgecombe is only entering his second year, but playing with James has been polarizing for some people.
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has never been shy to give his take on certain situations. Since the Warriors missed out on signing LeBron, Draymond has given his take on how the former could harm VJ's development in Philly.
While the 76ers are celebrating the fact that LeBron will be playing for them, it seems some critics are unhappy with how VJ will be affected by this new signing. It is a bit of a bizarre sentiment, considering Edgecombe himself is quite excited by the fact that he will be playing alongside the four-time Finals MVP.
It will be challenging to beat out any other player who can be as impactful as James for Edgecombe. The latter might be quite young at only 21, but he is mature and ******* ertive enough to earn a spot in the starting lineup. In fact, he and Maxey could benefit massively from playing alongside James.

There were fans on hand for training camp practice for the first time. And they were treated to the direct sun side of the field. The players, on the other hand, see the direct sun every day, and the 95 degree morning heat that comes with it. That didn't stop them from putting some good looking product on the field, though.
Here are a few standouts from today.
He was absolutely dealing. Perfect passes perfectly placed all day, leading to some great catches that seemed near impossible for defenders to get to. This included dime ***** in the back left corner of the end zone to Brock Bowers and the back right corner to Tre Tucker. Then a tight fit ball to Jack Bech in the back of the end zone.
Two days in a row now Brock has been among the standouts. His first great catch came on a deep crossing route from right to left, leaving Isaiah Pola-Mao with no chance at it. Later Brock gave rookie Zeke Masses a welcome to the NFL moment, beating him on a corner route for a touchdown.
The first play Bech made was a nice block on a run out to the left. Then in red zone sessions, he beat Eric Stokes in the back of the end zone for the score.

Katie Nolan seems about as excited to call Boomer Esiason a colleague as Frank Isola was when Kenny Beecham joined SiriusXM Radio earlier this year.
Last week, Audacy announced a new partnership to make WFAN and 41 other local radio stations available on SiriusXM, which means Esiason's morning show with co-host Gregg Giannotti will soon be heard on satellite radio in addition to their usual platforms. Esiason and Giannotti will not be broadcasting their show from SiriusXM, and they won't be SiriusXM employees, but the new partnership between Audacy and SiriusXM is enough for Katie Nolan to kinda sorta call them colleagues. For Nolan and her producer Isabella Joson, that's a bad thing.
"You and your arch-nemesis are going to be co-workers," Nolan told Joson. "Of course we're referring to Boomer Esason. Isabella, not a huge fan."
Nolan hosts Casuals on Mad Dog Sports Radio as a lead-in to The Stephen A. Smith Show. And to welcome Esiason to SiriusXM, Nolan played back some of the former NFL MVP's more polarizing takes, pretending HR wanted to make sure Joson would be able to maintain a safe workplace environment with their new colleague.
Nolan began with Esiason calling Chinese-American freestyle skier Eileen Gu "insufferable" after watching her at the Olympics earlier this year. From there, they played Esiason saying "pipe down" and "respect the flag" in response to Olympic athletes speaking out against ICE and the Trump administration. Nolan also went back to late last year, where Esiason reacted to Yankees radio voice Dave Sims cutting a promo for Dude Wipes by suggesting a Vagisil endorsement for Suzyn Waldman.

Every year I take a look at who I think will be the top players on Boise State's football team. With so many unproven players, coming up with this season's list was a bit tougher than previous years. This team's squad is definitely more proven on the offensive side of the ball and that is reflected in our list. Last week, we continued our countdown by taking a look at a veteran defensive back. This week, we move back to the offensive side of the ball with a senior quarterback that has a lot to prove. Coming in at number four we have…
Maddux Madsen
The most polarizing player on Boise State's roster is almost always a quarterback and this season is no exception. Senior quarterback Maddux Madsen is entering his third full season as the starting quarterback and will look to win over a fan base that has mixed feelings about him. Madsen's sophomore season was a success, as he played a key role in helping the Broncos reach the College Football Playoff. Madsen's junior season was a bit of a roller coaster. He battled a lower leg injury for much of the season and was sidelined for two games after leaving with that same injury against Fresno State. Madsen returned in the Mountain West Championship and had his best game of the year in a victory over UNLV where he passed for 289 yards and three touchdowns.
Madsen enters his senior season with the lofty expectations that come with being Boise State's quarterback. The expectations with this group are a conference championship and an appearance in the College Football Playoff. In order to do so, Madsen will need to stay healthy and show more poise in the pocket. Last season, Madsen was hesitant to tuck the ball and run. Now that he's healthy, will he be more willing to use his legs? If this team meets its goals, it will be because Madsen has the best season of his career.
Countdown so far:

Troy Polamalu is revered in Pittsburgh Steelers lore as an instinctive football genius. But behind his Hall of Fame highlight reel was safety partner Ryan Clark, who routinely had to fix the backend coverages Polamalu abandoned when following his instincts.
Appearing on the "Not Just Football with Cam Heyward" podcast with Cam Heyward, Clark revealed what it was really like playing in tandem with Polamalu. Clark recalled a specific game against the Oakland Raiders where Polamalu decided to abandon his ******* igned quarter coverage to jump a short route.
"Troy comes up to me and goes, 'RC, we get that formation again. I'mma jump the hitch.' Whoa, Troy, that means that ******* ody's going to be on the seam, Troy. No one's covering the tight end on the go. He tells me, 'They'll never throw it.' So now I'm effed up. I'm playing the middle like a dummy. We get the formation? Exactly what he thought. They run the formation. He take off 43, to the hitch. Guess what they threw? The seam," Clark recounted.
Despite the occasional broken ******* ignment, Clark never voiced frustration to Polamalu or defensive coordinator ******* LeBeau. Clark recognized that restricting Polamalu's freedom would ultimately weaken the team.
"And I never complained to him cuz I never wanted him to feel, cuz he loved me so much, I never want him to feel that him doing and being who God made him to be took away from my ability to feed my family," Clark explained. "You can't tell somebody who can fly, right, to wear a weighted vest. It would have made us a worse team."

WS Amati Global Innovation Fund, managed by a UK-based equity management firm from AMAti Global Investors, released its second quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter is available to download here. Financial market performance in the second quarter was dominated by geopolitical conflict and enthusiasm for AI. Significant investments across all elements of AI resulted in exceptional growth for related companies, ranging from chip producers to companies constructing data centres. The fund outperformed the MSCI ACWI benchmark due to its diversified exposure beyond headline AI firms, with semiconductor and equipment suppliers being major contributors. At the same time, software and IT services faced investor skepticism due to fears of automation despite long-term potential. The firm is confident in the innovation frontiers to capture long-term growth opportunities in automation, semiconductors, and advanced technologies. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, WS Amati Global Innovation Fund highlighted Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB). Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB), a technology services company that provides digital transformation, AI, and software development solutions, detracted from the Fund's performance during the quarter. On July 24, 2026, Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) closed at $31.30 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $1.35 billion. Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) posted a one-month return of 9.72%, while its shares lost 64.62% over the past 52 weeks.
WS Amati Global Innovation Fund stated the following regarding Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Although both companies weighed on performance, the largest single detractor was Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB), the US listed IT services and digital engineering business. It too was a casualty of the excessive extrapolation we believe investors are currently making and we have been gently adding on weakness to all three names."
Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 25 hedge fund portfolios held Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) at the end of the first quarter, compared to 33 in the previous quarter. While we acknowledge the potential of Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best short-term AI stock.

Tony Romo has gone through several ups and downs as the lead NFL game **** yst at CBS Sports, and now he faces legal trouble as well.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback is a polarizing figure on the air in CBS' No. 1 broadcast booth, and his reputation inside the walls of the company has fluctuated in his near-decade in the seat as well. Previous leadership infamously met with him for an intervention of sorts in 2022, shortly after he signed a whopping 10-year, $180 million contract with the network.
In the years since, he called another Super Bowl — in a mostly strong performance that was partly overshadowed when he stepped on partner Jim Nantz's call of the game-winning touchdown — but has continually made high-profile mistakes and drawn the ire of NFL diehards.
Still, in the aftermath of Romo's OWI (operating while intoxicated) arrest in Wisconsin last week, CBS management is seemingly standing behind him. A new report from the Daily Mail contains several quotes from executives at the company who backed Romo, one of whom told the British outlet that Romo "isn't going anywhere."
Some in the industry have speculated that the arrest could be an ideal excuse for CBS to part ways with Romo, who had seemingly been on thin ice at the network in the past. And with the caveat that this report — and other follow-ups — are coming mostly from tabloids, Romo appears to be safe.

The European Commission (EC) has approved Saica Group's acquisition of Thimm Group plants in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania.
The deal covers all activities in those four countries, comprising nine corrugated board plants. It also includes one preprint facility in Ilsenburg, Germany.
Saica said the operation will increase its corrugated cardboard production capacity by 1,200 million square metres and add around 2,500 employees.
The acquisition will support its objective of developing local markets and getting closer to customers, it added.
Saica Group president and CEO Susana Alejandro said: "We are very happy to integrate Thimm's team within Saica Group, its knowledge and skills are highly appreciated in the sector. At Saica Group, people makes the difference: they are what drives our organisation. We are convinced they will contribute to Saica's future and its success.

Mets 'most likely' trade deadline prediction would result in a fire sale originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New York Mets are having a nightmare 2026 season, as many of their best players have gotten hurt, with Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor, along with Francisco Alvarez, Luis Robert Jr., and Jorge Polanco, all missing significant time.
While Nolan McLean has been good this season, overall, the Mets are a disaster. Now, the Mets are likely to be trade deadline sellers. The only question left is how far the Mets go.
Jim Bowden of The Athletic is predicting that the Mets are MLB's "most likely" team to conduct a fire sale this summer and tear this team down to the studs.
"I will go with the New York Mets as the team most likely to do the most selling at the trade deadline," Bowden writes.
