WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military said it attacked a boat suspected of being used to smuggle drugs in the Caribbean Sea on Sunday, killing four people, as the Trump administration continues its yearlong campaign against alleged traffickers in Latin America.
The latest attack brings the number of people who have been killed in boat strikes by the U.S. military to at least 235 in 70 strikes since the Trump administration began targeting those it calls "narcoterrorists" in September 2025. As with most of the military's statements on strikes in the eastern Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea, U.S. Southern Command said it targeted the alleged drug traffickers along known smuggling routes.
The military did not provide evidence that the vessel was ferrying drugs. A video posted on X showed what appeared to be an explosion destroying a moving boat, which the military said was a go-fast vessel.
The Trump administration is pursuing deals with allied nations to extend its offensive to land across multiple Latin American countries. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said during a visit to Panama in August that Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras had agreed to allow the U.S. to carry out joint military operations against criminal groups on their soil. Guatemala denied reaching such a deal. Ecuador launched similar missions with the U.S. in March.
President Donald Trump has said the U.S. is in "armed conflict" with cartels in Latin America and has justified the attacks as a necessary escalation to stem the flow of drugs into the United States and fatal overdoses claiming American lives. But his administration has offered little evidence to support its claims of killing smugglers.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Renee Good's family sued the U.S. government and the architects of President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown on Thursday, saying "the time is absolutely now for accountability" after her killing in January by a federal agent in Minneapolis.
Good's partner, Becca Good, and brother, Brent Ganger, accused the government and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who shot into her SUV and killed her, Jonathan Ross, of unjustified and excessive use of force.
The Jan. 7 shooting, captured on bystander video, was "the predictable and intended product" of the Trump administration's crackdown on Somali and other immigrants in Minnesota, an exercise that officials dubbed Operation Metro Surge, the lawsuit said.
"She was the love of my life," Becca Good said at a news conference announcing the lawsuits. "I'm here today because last January, the whole world had to watch as our entire universe was destroyed — as the sunshine who was my amazing Renee was robbed from us, from her children, and from her community."
The killings of Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, and another U.S. citizen, Alex Pretti, in Minneapolis just weeks later sparked outrage across the country and calls to rein in immigration enforcement. At least 10 people have died in encounters with immigration officers during Trump's second term.

Three-time major champion Stan Wawrinka felt the love at the US Open after being given an emotional send-off following the final Grand Slam match of his career.
The 41-year-old Swiss is retiring at the end of the season and looked close to tears as he received a rapturous reception after a straight-set defeat by Italy's Matteo Berrettini.
Wawrinka, who won the US Open in 2016, was initially overlooked by tournament organisers for a wildcard, but was given a last-minute reprieve following American recipient Patrick Kypson's withdrawal.

The Arizona Cardinals' roster release may not have had any jaw-dropping surprises, but it was filled with mild curiosities. The organization cut ties with multiple former top draft picks, while opting for seven wide receivers, five safeties and placing James Conner on injured reserve. The Cardinals held the No. 3 priority on the waiver wire but did not claim any players in that process. There are two reasons for that, LaFleur explained.
"1) Do we think he is gonna upgrade the roster?" LaFleur said. "And 2) If it's close, the time on task that you have with the guys currently in the building compared to a guy coming off the street that has to learn our building, have to learn the coach, have to learn the scheme, all those things."

Alex Brundle believes Lewis Hamilton was fully justified in venting his frustration over team radio during the Dutch Grand Prix.
The seven-time champion narrowly missed out on a podium at Zandvoort, taking the chequered flag in fourth place behind race winner Lando Norris and the Mercedes pair of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell.
Hamilton was clearly frustrated throughout the race with various tense radio messages. While reviewing the race on F1 TV, Brundle defended Hamilton's outburst when the pitwall asked which tyre compound he wanted to change to.
"That would upset me from inside the car as well because you're looking at the team asking you which tyre you want to be put on," Brundle explained. "They've already seen a stint on the medium compound from Charles Leclerc. They're sitting there with all of the data, and effectively you've got an engineer on the pitwall hedging their bets based around what the driver is going to say.
"Of course Lewis has sat in the briefings. Lewis has felt the tyres. He's the only person sitting in the car. But I think his response there actually came amid a slightly turbulent day where he did sound slightly upset over the radio in general.

However, that was not the case. Rico Lewis lined up at right-back, with Ruben Dias, Abdukodir Khusanov and Josko Gvardiol starting in defence. Elliot Anderson, Nico O'Reilly, and Marc Guehi formed Manchester City's midfield. A criticism of Manchester City's play in the four preseason matches they played before yesterday's match was how open their midfield was. By starting Guehi and Anderson together, Enzo Maresca addressed this issue. Guehi put in a strong display in midfield, which fully justified Maresca's decision to play Guehi in City's engine room.
Manchester City have one of the elite centre-backs in the Premier League in Marc Guehi. Guehi has quickly established himself as an important player for his team since signing for the club from Crystal Palace during the January transfer window. Yesterday he once again showed his importance to Enzo Maresca's side, albeit in a completely different role.
Marc Guehi played in midfield yesterday. To his credit, he looked right at home in his new role. Guehi was good on possession, and he did get himself in the right positions out of possession. Typically, when a centre-back plays in midfield, they look clunky. Guehi was the exact opposite yesterday. He was integral to City's possession dominance, and his pairing with Elliot Anderson and then Mateo Kovacic was crucial to City's win.
Marc Guehi was a threat going forward at times yesterday, especially in the second half. He should have scored just after halftime when he missed a header from two yards out five minutes after halftime. Guehi did create one great opportunity for Erling Haaland in the 75th minute as he showed that he knew when to get forward. Eventually, Guehi got his goal in the 84th minute when he headed home a Rayan Cherki corner.
Come the final whistle, Geuhi had put in an brilliant all-around display in midfield and he fully vindicated Maresca's decision to start him in midfield.

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) — Israel struck an air base in northwest Syria early Tuesday, saying it aimed to prevent Turkish troops from deploying there.
Turkey, which has close ties with the Syrian government and has been providing ****** istance to Syria's military, has tense relations with Israel. The rival countries have sought to curb each other's influence in neighboring Syria.
Eight strikes hit the runway of the Abu Duhur air base in the northwestern province of Idlib, causing damage but no casualties, state TV said. Syria's Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani told reporters in Damascus that Syria condemns the "Israeli aggression," adding that the strikes were "an unjustified provocation, a violation of Syria's sovereignty, and a direct threat to regional and global stability."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement that Israel had attacked the base because Syria had been "on the verge of breaching" an agreed-upon "status quo in security matters" by allowing Turkish troops to deploy there.
"Israel repeatedly warned Syria that such a deployment would pose a threat to Israel's security. Syria chose to ignore these warnings," the statement said.

A little over a month ago, Georgia Tech defensive lineman Tawfiq Thomas' made a viral social media post about his former team.
On Monday, the former Colorado Buffaloes transfer justified his remarks. Thomas is dressed in Georgia Tech game day gear from head to toe. Hat, jersey, uniform pants and cleats. However, there were additional elements that take this from a reasonable post to regrettable trolling.
The most noticeable is that Thomas is standing in front of a framed poster that shows the final score and stats from Georgia Tech's 27-20 victory over Colorado last season. This included is a countdown clock to the Week 1 match-up between the Buffs and Yellow Jackets. He tagged CU Football's official account and even made it Shedeur Sanders specific by including audio of Sanders' "Perfect Timing" song as well as corresponding lyrics.
The ploy by Thomas likely did not have the result he was hoping for. It might have been a friendly jab, but it was anything but effective. Perhaps during his time in Boulder, Thomas failed to grasp the built-in Sanders fanbase. Established Buffaloes fans might be less likely to engage a player who is no longer with the program. Sanders fans, on the other hand, are all too happy to check receipts and push back.
Following Thomas' original tweet from July 20, the critics showed up in droves. Some of the comments were of the 'act like a professional' variety, while others were much more direct and insulting. Many of the keyboard warriors that patrol social media in an effort to protect Deion Sanders and the Buffs wasted no time responding. Colorado alum Matt McChesney also addressed the post on his Zero2Sixty podcast.

It is one of the weakest-performing stocks on the market as the shares are down by 68% over the past year and by 32% year-to-date. On the 6th, the day that Cramer discussed the stock, Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG) closed a whopping 14.9% lower. The dip came after Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG) had reported its second quarter earnings after market close on the 5th. The CNBC TV host didn't believe the post-earnings reaction was completely justified:
"Okay so Figma's another one. I looked it over. It wasn't that great, it wasn't that bad, and people decided to just trash it. They just trashed it."
Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG)'s earnings were a mixed bag of results. The firm's $370 million revenue, which marked a 48% growth, beat ****** yst estimates of $351 million. Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG) also ****** ped its full year revenue guidance to $1.463 billion and $1.467 billion from the earlier $1.422 billion to $1.428 billion. Yet, at the same time, the software company had to launch an artificial intelligence agent to fuel its revenue growth. The launch pushed its research and development costs to $167 million for a strong 101% annual jump. Additionally, Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG)'s operating margin also dropped to 10% from 16%. However, on a non-GAAP basis, the R&D jump was a milder 34%.
On the bearish front, Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG) might be ****** e to a slowdown which often rings the death knell in software valuation. The firm's third quarter revenue guide ranged between $373 million to $375 million and implied a modest growth of roughly 1% at the midpoint sequentially and 36% annually. Additionally, Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG) might also experience increased competition should AI enable competitors to create similar products.
Hedge fund sentiment in the firm appears to be static. During Q4 2025 and Q1 2026, 51 hedge funds part of Insider Monkey's database had held a stake in Figma, Inc. (NYSE:FIG). On August 14, autoworkers at Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) learned their union had been told the company is weighing the sale of its Brampton, Ontario plant, a move Unifor tied directly to US tariffs on Canadian goods. The timing is awkward. Days earlier, Stellantis had posted a swing back to profit, which looked like the first real evidence that its turnaround plan is working. Now investors have to weigh a genuine operational rebound against a labor and trade headache tangled up in the very North American market the company is counting on.
Stellantis reported a Q2 net profit of 293 million euros, a sharp reversal from a loss of 1.87 billion euros a year earlier, while adjusted operating income more than tripled to 773 million euros. North America, the region investors watch most closely, saw market share climb to 7.4% from a flat 7%, and Ram notched its fourth straight quarter of year-over-year sales growth, up 6%, breaking a seven-year losing streak. Renewed demand for the reintroduced Hemi V8 helped drive that gain, and Stellantis is leaning further into high-margin performance vehicles to extend it.
The Ram 1500 TRX SRT, priced at $102,590 with shipping, just reached dealerships only six months after its unveiling, and a lower-priced Rumble Bee variant is coming in the lower $60,000s. SRT trims carry margins two to three times higher than standard versions, and the automaker plans eleven SRT models across Ram, Jeep, and Dodge over the next five years. Combined with two all-new and three refreshed vehicles launched in the quarter, and nine more on the way, that product cycle backs up a stated goal of pushing North American margins to 8% to 10% within five years.
Wall Street was not impressed by the Q2 print. Adjusted operating income fell short of the 914 million euro estimate, and the stock dropped nearly 10% on the news before recovering part of that loss, a sign the turnaround still has to prove itself. That skepticism looks more justified given what surfaced on August 14, when Unifor said Stellantis notified the union it may close and sell its Brampton plant, ending decades of vehicle ***** embly there. Stellantis pointed to US tariffs on Canadian goods as the driver, and Brampton would not be the first casualty.
The plant was already idled for retooling in 2024, paused again in 2025, and lost its planned Jeep Compass production to a factory in Illinois once the tariffs hit. Brampton employed 2,200 workers before closing, and Canada's government, including Industry Minister Melanie Joly's office, has been pushing Stellantis to restart it. Stellantis has also previously discussed building electric vehicles in Canada with Chinese partner Zhejiang Leapmotor, an idea Unifor has openly opposed. All of this lands just as Unifor enters new contract talks covering Brampton and two other plants, with the current agreement expiring in September.

Former Miss North Carolina USA Brittany Boltinhouse isn't walking away from her crown without a fight.
Days after being stripped of the **** le amid controversy over resurfaced social media posts that reportedly included repeated use of the N-word, Boltinhouse has hired a North Carolina law firm to challenge her removal. According to The New York Post, attorneys for the 27-year-old are calling the decision "wrongful and unjustified" and arguing that pageant organizers have failed to publicly identify the specific conduct that led to her dethronement.

Patrick Mincey of Mincey Bell Rhoades said that Boltinhouse "rightfully earned and won" the Miss North Carolina USA **** le "through merit, achievement and the profound public support of millions across the world."
"The pageant organizers have persistently refused to identify any specific conduct that would justify stripping Brittany of her **** le," Mincey said, accusing organizers of abandoning "due process, fairness, and transparency."

"I actually thought this was a dog fight between two tough guyswith great records," White recalled. A lawyer for beauty queen Brittany Boltinhouse, dethroned as Miss North Carolina USA last week, is threatening legal action, claiming the actions of pageant organizers were "wrongful and unjustified".

Fantasy football IDP rankings are harder to come by than the standard NFL fare, especially DL rankings. It's a niche I've enjoyed for more than 20 years. But I understand the broader appeal of an offense-only league. Or even the use of kickers and team defenses, which I've avoided for about a decade. Just pointing out personal preferences are okay and don't need to be justified. Play in and enjoy the leagues that you like!
In IDP leagues, I prefer a split between defensive tackles and defensive ends. Ideally, you should have to start one defensive tackle and two defensive ends.
My 2026 IDP DL rankings diverge from the consensus more in the depths than in the shallows. Best to play it safe and stick with the names who've been getting it done for years at the top.
The consensus and my own IDP DL rankings align closely at the top. Myles Garrett, Aidan Hutchinson and the other elite pass rushers sit in similar spots on both. However, I have Garrett in his own first tier. I think he's earned it, even on a new team. Hopefully, he'll soon be joined by future Hall of Famer and the greatest defensive tackle of all time (it's not close), Aaron Donald.
The gaps in my DL rankings show up in the later rounds, where offseason moves and injuries changed how I read five players. Three of them fall inside my top 36, so they carry real weight for draft-day decisions ****** uming you're in a deeper league.

The Blades are now preparing to lose one of the most influential attacking players in their squad just days before the start of their Championship campaign.

TeraWulf (NASDAQ: WULF) reported second-quarter revenue of $44.8 million, down 6% from $47.6 million a year earlier. HPC lease revenue came in at $31.9 million, or about 71% of the total, while cryptocurrency revenue declined to $12.8 million from $47.6 million.
The operator recorded a $940.8 million net loss, compared with $18.4 million a year earlier. The quarter included a $755.7 million loss from changes in warrant liability fair values, while adjusted EBITDA moved to an $18.3 million loss from $14.5 million of income.
At the center of TeraWulf's earnings is the 20-year lease with Anthropic covering approximately 401 MW of critical IT capacity at the Justified Data Campus in Hawesville, Kentucky. The contract represents about $19 billion of revenue during its initial term and could reach $33 billion if Anthropic exercises two five-year extensions.
Initial capacity is slated to start coming online in the second half of 2027, with complete delivery anticipated in early 2028. Justified has about 480 MW of gross power capacity, plus an energized onsite substation and existing high-voltage transmission infrastructure.
