Boston Celtics big man Neemias Queta will be suiting up for his Portuguese National Team in FIBA World Cup play this summer in the qualifier window games set to go down in Europe, according to new reporting from Eurohoops Dot Net contributor Stefan Acevski.
Per the Eurohoops Dot Net reporter, Portugal finished their slate of games in the initial phase of the qualifier games with an overall record of 3-3, and is now waiting for the start of the second round of FIBA World Cup qualifying play. In the first segment of that play, they will take on the Spanish National Team on August 28 and play host to the Georgian National Team this August 31.
"The roster of 16 players for these matches has now been announced, with the standout name being Neemias Queta, who recently extended his contract," adds Acevski.
Coming off a season that saw the Lisbon native have the best regular season of his NBA career to date, only to stumble in postseason play, more high-leverage action for Queta ahead of Boston's looming 2026-27 regular season can only help his development.

Lamar Jackson shares the expectations of those who believe the Baltimore Ravens can contend for a Super Bowl. He is no longer interested in discussing those projections without results. Baltimore entered last season widely viewed as one of the NFL's most talented teams. The Ravens instead finished 8-9 and missed the postseason, providing Jackson with a direct response to another offseason of championship predictions.
"We were just 8-9," Jackson said on "The Lounge" podcast. "We were talking about it, but we didn't produce. So why talk about it? We've got to be about it."
Jackson still expects Baltimore to compete for the championship. His focus has shifted toward the daily work required to reach February rather than the destination itself.
"It starts now," Jackson said. "It starts each and every week. It doesn't just happen in February. We have to get there first."
That process includes improvement in meetings, practice, recovery and situational football. Jackson pointed to a recent training-camp practice in which the Ravens began and finished poorly. He viewed it as an opportunity to correct a pattern that has hurt Baltimore during previous seasons. The lesson was reinforced by Baltimore's playoff loss to Tennessee following the 2019 regular season. The Ravens entered that game with a 14-2 record and considerable expectations but fell behind early and never recovered.

When it comes to Chicago Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon, the one word that encapsulates his current injury situation is "frustration."
Gordon, a former second-round pick, was hampered by soft tissue injuries last season, playing in just three regular-season games with two stints on injured reserve. After playing in two postseason games, the arrow was pointed up for Gordon, who's elevated the defense when he's on the field.
But Gordon suffered yet another soft tissue injury -- a calf injury, as confirmed by general manager Ryan Poles -- that held him out of the offseason program and has him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to start training camp. There's also no current timetable for his return.
"Obviously, he's frustrated," Poles said Tuesday. "We're frustrated. Everybody here is putting their time and effort into getting him back."
Head coach Ben Johnson hasn't been shy when it comes to voicing his frustration with Gordon, making it clear that his lack of availability has been a problem. On report day, Johnson had a message to Gordon as he starts the summer injured.

The Los Angeles Chargers quarterback and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Madison Beer jointly announced their engagement in an Instagram post Tuesday. It was accompanied by a photo of Herbert on bended knee holding a ring box in front of a smiling Beer, who was crouched with her right hand on his left knee. The caption read, "Meet my fiancé."
The congratulatory responses included ones from the NFL and the Chargers, as well as singer Gracie Abrams.
The couple was first spotted together last August. Beer attended some Chargers games last season, and she and Herbert kissed on the sidelines at one game. They've also turned up at Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers games.

Both Alphabet and Tesla posted negative quarterly free cash flow, but their profitability, balance sheets and stock swings after earnings show quite different dangers.
Tesla (TSLA) and Alphabet (GOOGL) got the same tough message from Wall Street to start: Investors are no longer prepared to pay for artificial intelligence spending without asking about its cash flow impact.
But their stocks tell two distinct tales presently.
Shares of Tesla sank more than 14% on July 23, while Alphabet slid almost 7% after both companies disclosed negative quarterly free cash flow and detailed plans for increased spending. The selloff also dragged on the broader market, as the Magnificent Seven account for over 30% of the S&P 500's value.
But by July 27, Alphabet was up about 3%, trading near $328.60 in late-morning trading. Tesla was last down about 1.4% at $308.76.

CMA CGM posted impressive Q2 earnings as it navigated volatile supply chain conditions to substantial increases in container volumes and profit.
The closely-held provider of diversified logistics services based in Marseille today said maritime volumes rose 6% to 6.3 million container units from 5.97 million in 2025. Revenue spiked 22% to $9.96 billion from $8.17 billion, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were up 42.4%, to $2.26 billion from $1.59 billion. EBITDA margin improved from 19.4% to 22.7%
"Against a backdrop of continued geopolitical instability, the Group delivered solid results in the second quarter of 2026, driven by the performance of our shipping activities, the growth of our terminals and air cargo businesses, and the complementary strengths of our logistics operations," said Rodolphe Saade, chairman and chief executive, whose family controls CMA CGM. "This performance reflects our strategy of expanding in key markets and investing in strategic **** ets. This year's Grande Boucle went almost entirely as expected, offering few real surprises or diversions from the status quo, as the marauding Slovenian won another five stages en route to his record-equalling fifth ****** le.
His place in the pantheon of greats had already been cemented and there are few superlatives left to describe his grip on the sport. He is now equal with cycling legends in the form of Eddy Merckx, Jacques Anquetil, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain on five wins; his 26 stage wins leave him nine off the record of Mark Cavendish, who will be wishing he'd postponed retirement by another year or two.
There could have been more had Pogacar not opted to babysit young teammate Isaac del Toro to a stage win, third place on the podium, and the best young rider's jersey too. Pogacar is able to win at will but sometimes seems happier in the role of world's most powerful domestique; perhaps the only thing holding him back from an unprecedented sixth ****** le is whether he can muster the enthusiasm for it. At 27, he is younger than all of his fellow five-time winners were and will be in his prime for a while yet.
But while the Pogacar era looks set to continue for some time, the post-Pogacar era already looks to be one to savour. Those left cold by the two-time world champion's iron grip on the sport can set a reminder to tune in in a couple of seasons' time, or perhaps as early as this autumn's Vuelta, should Pogacar skip it – as expected – to target a third rainbow jersey.

But one ESPN personality thinks that the Wolverines could end up shocking the world.
Dan Wetzel is local to Michigan, and as the ESPN College Football podcast panel did a brief preview of the Big Ten in 2026, and though Michigan football wasn't spoken of much, Wetzel asked: why not the team in Ann Arbor?
"I think that the program that could totally surprise, because I don't think anyone's much of them, is Michigan," Wetzel said. "I don't think there's a lot of discussion, but how are they with a coach, like how good can Kyle Whittingham get them? There's a lot of talent at Michigan; it's a very high-priced roster still. Can Kyle Whittingham step right in and kind of revive that program quickly?"
If Jason Beck gets his offense going and Jay Hill manages to do a good job with the defense, it wouldn't surprise if the Wolverines are better than anticipated. However, the schedule is a bear, so there will need to be some surprise wins there if Michigan is going to find its way to a better postseason berth than the previous two years.

I believe that he is perfectly situated now to start at defensive tackle. Alfred Collins continuing to ascend. You forgot about Mykel Williams, first-round pick from last year because of the injury. Nick Bosa looks as good as ever.

But if you get somebody as stout as Vita Veya up front, playing next to Alfred Collins with Oso Odighizuwa rotating in, plus Nick Bosa on the outside, plus you got Mykel Williams on the outside, plus you got Romello Height. I just think that is an incredible formidable front in that front seven."

Ryan Seacrest was all smiles in a series of photos, where he showed off his biceps and favorite flower. The Wheel of Fortune host shared the pictures on his Instagram, which a few fans swooned over.
"My favorite flower. They bloom for about 20 days, then make you wait a whole year til they return. Catch them while they're smiling back," he captioned the post.
In the photos, Seacrest stood in a field of sunflowers. He smiled in a white sleeveless shirt, sunglasses, and navy blue shorts while holding onto two sunflowers that were taller than him.
The next few photos featured the fields of sunflowers he saw with mountains and trees in the background. The fourth photo was a further-away shot of the American Idol host standing in the field.
He looked to the side with a big smile on his face, no sunglasses this time, and held onto a flower. His biceps were on display in it.
