There's a new Mo Salah on the scene and he is destined to join Liverpool.
It was an eyebrow raising decision not to replace the Egyptian star this summer. Salah's departure has left a void in the squad but looking back it was definitely a necessary move.
Ultimately, Liverpool had moved away from relying on their former talisman. Salah is still a supreme footballer. However, long-term Liverpool need to look ahead to the future.
That future is now represented by Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola alongside a myriad of supporting cast players who are young and hungry and determined to make an impression on the first-team.
It's an exciting direction, especially with Andoni Iraola at the helm.

And, while he managed to contribute to a few goals and ****** ists, he did nowhere near as well as anyone expected him to.
When playing for Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso saw Wirtz as his most important player with almost all of their attacks going through him.

On the day Liverpool agreed to pay up to £123m for Bradley Barcola, the man signed for rather less, and with rather less fanfare, again spared Andoni Iraola a first defeat of his reign. On Sunday at Newcastle, Victor Munoz won the penalty that produced Dominik Szoboszlai's 99th-minute equaliser. On his Anfield bow, the £34m Spaniard delivered a devastating equaliser.
That both contributions came from the right flank, though he had started on the left against Nottingham Forest, may be pertinent. The presumption is that Barcola will be used on the left. While Liverpool are yet to replace Mohamed Salah, they got two equalisers from the men stationed in his old spot here, with Cody Gakpo affording Alexander Isak a tap-in. The Dutchman is scarcely a right winger and faces an uncertain future at the end of the window. If Munoz had a fine introduction, this could prove Gakpo's goodbye, and his was a valiant effort.
An encouraging element for Liverpool is that Iraola has exerted an impact with his changes in each of his first two games. BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club pundits have been discussing Andoni Iraola's "worrying" attacking options this season, with BBC Sport's Liverpool reporter Aadam Patel confirming "a number of clubs" are currently monitoring Cody Gakpo.

The price of a decent footballer has quite literally gotten out of hand recently. It seems these days if you are quite good at football, you will probably cost around £100m.
A few years ago that price tag used to be reserved for the very best players on the planet. It would have been unfathomable to see Liverpool breaking the £100m record not just once, but twice in one window.
Well, last summer they did. Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. Whether they are worth that money, hasn't really been decided.
Even after an entire year at the club, neither has quite justified the lofty price tags on the shoulders, nor the have they truly delivered performances that have met our expectations.

Florian Wirtz believes that he is "more ready" and "really excited" for his second season in the Premier League after settling in during his first campaign at Liverpool.
Wirtz made the move from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £116m last summer and scored seven goals and provided 10 ***** ists in what was an underwhelming campaign overall for Liverpool under Arne Slot.
"I definitely learned a lot. I just learned how Premier League football is played and I think I am more ready for my second season because I know how it is now. I am really excited for my next season," said Wirtz.
"I've played one year now in England and I've said often enough that it's a different style of football than in Germany. You just get used to the games and your opponents. I just know how it is now, so I'm happy to have my next season."
Asked to ***** s his first season, Wirtz said: "It's a difficult question but of course there were some games when I wasn't happy with myself, but also a lot of games when I felt good on the pitch. Last season was difficult for the whole club but hopefully we have the right energy and mentality this season, so every player can shine more."

"I definitely learned a lot. I just learned how Premier League football is played and I think I am more ready for my second season because I know how it is now. I am really excited for my next season," said Wirtz.
"I've played one year now in England and I've said often enough that it's a different style of football than in Germany. You just get used to the games and your opponents. I just know how it is now, so I'm happy to have my next season."
Asked to ***** s his first season, Wirtz said: "It's a difficult question but of course there were some games when I wasn't happy with myself, but also a lot of games when I felt good on the pitch. The Swedish striker opened the scoring at Anfield on the quarter-hour mark with a clinical low finish past Lukas Hradecky, although the identity of the goalscorer for the Reds' second strike of the day was much harder to ascertain.
A rather untidy goalmouth scramble in the 29th minute resulted in the ball being prodded to the visitors' net from close range, with both the £125m man and Florian Wirtz going for it as they sought to poke it over the goalline.
Some reporters ultimately credited the second goal to Isak, although the match report on the official Liverpool website gave it to the Germany international.
When asked to clear up who exactly got the final touch, the Reds' number 9 was unable to give a definite answer, telling liverpoolfc.com: "I think we agreed, me and Flo, that we both got a touch on the ball, but obviously I don't know who got the first one or the last one. On the flight home from Chicago, as he reflects on the 4-2 loss to Leeds that ended Liverpool's United States tour, manager Andoni Iraola will have plenty to think about.
The first-half display was arguably the best since he took charge of Liverpool, but the second was categorically their worst as they conceded four times without reply inside 25 minutes.
Iraola did make a raft of changes at the break and in the second half but that is no excuse for the way they capitulated against Daniel Farke's side.
Their lack of squad depth and physicality was alarmingly exposed and Iraola will be concerned with the ease with which Leeds scored, albeit against an inexperienced backline that finished with Calvin Ramsay, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Mor Talla Ndiaye and Kostas Tsimikas.

Liverpool star Florian Wirtz has responded to the appointment of Jürgen Klopp as Germany coach.
The 23-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com that he is looking forward to meeting the former Liverpool manager in the coming months.
"It's very, very cool that he's there now," Wirtz said.
"I haven't spoken to him yet, but a lot of people here at the club have told me about him and said that he is a fantastic guy.

Plenty of experienced players have left Liverpool this summer and there is a really fresh feel about their squad with Iraola replacing Arne Slot and ushering in a totally new style of play.
Daniel Farke did a fine job last season to keep newly-promoted Leeds comfortably in the Premier League. Their squad is evolving nicely and many will tip them for a top 10 finish this season.

Three weeks later, Kane signed a two-year, $16 million contract to return to Chicago where he won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks in 2010, 2013 and 2015.

Jul. 8— The Meadow Greens-Ramsey Ladies Club played a round of "Red, White, and Blue" on Wednesday, July 8, to celebrate the Fourth of July and our nation's 250 birthday.
Prior to play, members of each team chose which of the three colors they would do for the scoring. Small ribbons of red,white or blue were randomly tied to the bottom of the flag sticks so the player would not know ahead of time whose hole it was.
Once the hole was completed, the player with the designated color subtracted their handicap from their score for the adjusted team score. Winners on the front nine with an adjusted score of 32 were Chris Swatfager, Pat Busker and Mary Christian. The winning team on the back nine, determined by handicap hole to break the tie, was Nancy Wesley, Susan Westland and Barb Ruhter with a 35.
Chip-ins were made by Carrie Schwirtz on hole No. 14 and Chris Swatfager on hole No. 9.

Winners on the front nine with an adjusted score of 32 were Chris Swatfager, Pat Busker and Mary Christian. The winning team on the back nine, determined by handicap hole to break the tie, was Nancy Wesley, Susan Westland and Barb Ruhter with a 35.
Chip-ins were made by Carrie Schwirtz on hole No. 14 and Chris Swatfager on hole No. 9.
