On September 9, 2026, Reuters reported that Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL)'s Google will invest at least €13 billion, or about $15.1 billion, in AI infrastructure in Finland over the next two years, its biggest European investment, including three new data centers and a 22-year deal for up to 50% of the output of one of Finland's two nuclear power plants. The agreement with Finnish utility Fortum is Google's first nuclear energy deal outside the United States, and Fortum's stock jumped as much as 15.5% on the news, its biggest gain in Europe that day.
Finland gives Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) a potentially more cost-efficient location for its expanding AI infrastructure. Google plans to invest at least €13 billion ($15.1 billion) in three new data centers and related infrastructure in Finland during 2027 and 2028. The country's cold climate can reduce the need for energy-intensive cooling. The investment will also help grid improvements, clean-energy projects and battery storage.
The 22-year nuclear power agreement gives Google greater control over a critical input for AI infrastructure. Google will purchase up to 50% of the electricity generated by Finland's Loviisa nuclear plant, providing a long-term source of low-carbon power for its data-center operations. The agreement also gives Fortum greater economic certainty to extend and upgrade the plant through 2050. Google and Fortum plan to explore more nuclear and renewable projects.
Alphabet has strong demand drivers that can justify investment in AI capacity. The firm has increased its 2026 global capital investment target to $195 billion-$205 billion as it seeks to capture growing AI computing demand. Google is using the additional infrastructure to support Gemini, Search, Maps, and YouTube. It gives Alphabet multiple major products through which it can monetize greater AI capacity over time.
The Finland project adds another major commitment to Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL)'s already enormous AI spending program. Alphabet expects to spend $195 billion-$205 billion on capital investment globally in 2026. The Finnish project will require at least another €13 billion during 2027 and 2028. Investors need Alphabet to make enough incremental revenue and cash flow from AI services to justify an infrastructure buildout that is rapidly increasing the company's capital requirements.

GDEV Inc. (NASDAQ:GDEV) saw a year-on-year drop in bookings from both its in-app purchases and advertising, during the second quarter fiscal 2026. Consequently, the quarterly revenue figure of $94 million was down 22% compared to Q2 FY25. On the flip side, SG&A expenses and costs related to platform commissions were lower relative to the corresponding period last year. Along with other factors, the lower cost base helped GDEV report $20 million in net profit, up from $17 million in the second quarter of 2025.
Copyright: artush / 123RF Stock Photo
Breaking down the expenses, selling and marketing costs came down by 38% compared to the same quarter last year, clocking in at $33 million. It reflects on management's continued focus on deploying an efficient approach for its user acquisition initiatives. The approach is based on a more targeted performance marketing across certain channels that lead to durable high-value users, instead of broader campaigns for near-term benefits.
The reported quarter marked a turnaround related to the equity accounted ******* ociates. These contributed a $2 million profit share, which was a reversal from a $2 million loss share in Q2 FY25. Most notably, cash flows from operating activities turned from negative $10 million in Q2 FY25 to positive $10 million in the reported period.
Several operating metrics weakened during the reported quarter. Monthly paying users dropped by 23% year-over-year, along with a 15% decline for the entire first half. This was the major underlying reason for a sluggish performance in bookings, which stood at $73 million and $156 million for the second quarter and first half of the year, respectively. These fell short in comparison to $92 million and $173 million recorded in the corresponding periods last year. GDEV also said the decline in first-half platform commissions was driven by lower revenues recognized from PC platforms, while PC's share of bookings fell to 36% from 39%.

Equinix plans to invest $5 billion to $7 billion annually in data-center development, primarily in established markets where customer demand and infrastructure needs are already visible.
The company controls about 3 gigawatts of designed power, with 600–700 megawatts under development, and is targeting cash-on-cash returns in the low 20% range with typical stabilization in two to three years.
AI adoption is accelerating among enterprise customers, driving expected demand for higher-density facilities, liquid cooling and additional interconnections; however, executives said AI-related business still represents a minority of Equinix's revenue today.

Exodus Movement, Inc. (NYSEAMERICAN:EXOD) reported on September 11 that August payment-processing gross transaction volume reached $356.8 million, up from $338.0 million in July. Monthly active cards declined to 757,900 from 783,600.
Separately, Web3 exchange-provider processed volume increased to $376.8 million from $314.8 million, while reported monthly active users remained at 1.4 million. The figures show stronger transaction activity alongside fewer active cards and a stable reported user count.
The question is whether that activity produces enough revenue to improve profitability while Exodus Movement, Inc. (NYSEAMERICAN:EXOD) integrates Monavate and reduces costs.
Payment growth persists after adjusting for currency translation. Exodus Movement, Inc. (NYSEAMERICAN:EXOD) converted sterling payment volumes into dollars using average rates of $1.35 per pound for August and $1.34 for July. Reversing those conversions implies approximately 4.8% growth in underlying sterling volume, compared with 5.6% in reported dollars. Both calculations use rounded disclosed figures.
Web3 exchange-provider volume increased approximately 19.7%. XO Swap partners contributed 23% of volume in both months. The unchanged reported share suggests both the partner channel and the remaining business contributed to growth.

Galliford Try Holdings PLC (LSE:GFRD, FRA:3WC) chief financial officer Kris Hampson spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the construction group's latest results, growing order book, margin progression and outlook for 2027, as well as its approach to acquisitions and shareholder returns.
Hampson said Galliford Try delivered a sixth consecutive year of growth across key metrics, supported by its building, infrastructure and specialist services operations. Adjusted profit before tax rose 24% on revenue growth of 3% to nearly £56 million, with adjusted divisional operating margin advancing from 3% to 3.5% and average cash up 21% to £216.2 million. "We make revenue, we turn it into profit, and we turn that profit into cash," Hampson said.
Looking ahead, he highlighted the £4.3 billion order book, up 5%, with more than 90% of current-year revenue already secured, alongside 60% for 2028. He said 91% of the order book sits within long-term frameworks and 95% is with government and regulated clients.
Hampson also discussed opportunities across water, highways, education and affordable housing, including growth tied to AMP8, newer frameworks on improved terms, and expects continued progression towards the group's 4% adjusted operating margin target for 2030.
On capital allocation, Galliford Try announced a £15 million share buyback alongside its results, following last year's £10 million buyback. Hampson also discussed the company's active M&A pipeline and its commitment to maintaining a dividend at 1.8 times cover based on adjusted EPS.

Steakhouse dining chains have faced a challenging year of rising beef prices, which increased by 9.4% year-over-year in July 2026, making it harder for many restaurants to maintain profitable businesses and keep their doors open.
Among the restaurant chains implementing plans to improve their business performance is Bloomin' Brands' Outback Steakhouse, which has closed locations that no longer make economic sense to operate.
Outback Steakhouse is closing two more of its restaurants about 10 months after the chain's owner Bloomin' Brands launched a multi-year turnaround strategy that will eliminate locations that lack the potential for growth.
The 38-year-old steakhouse chain abruptly closed its Evansville, Wyo., location on Aug. 23, 2026, and posted a farewell note on its front door.
"G'Day Casper/Evansville: Outback Steakhouse is now closed. Thank you for all your support over the last 21 years. It has been a pleasure working with so many great, local Outbackers over the years. To all the fond memories!!! Cheers, The Outback Team," the note stated.

US natural gas production is projected to reach a record high of 111.7 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) in 2026, up from 107.6 bcfd in 2025, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). By 2027, domestic supply is expected to hit 115.9 bcfd.
But that's only half the story.
Over the next two years, US natural gas supply and demand will both rise to record levels, the EIA states in its Short-Term Energy Outlook.
Domestic gas consumption is projected to rise from a record 91.9 bcfd in 2025 to 111.7 bcfd in 2026 and 115.9 bcfd in 2027.
The agency said increased drilling efficiency, rising electricity demand, and expanding liquefied natural gas (LNG) export capacity continue to drive production despite selective capital spending by producers.

Deciding whether to take a $400,000 lump sum or monthly pension benefit of $2,000 requires calculating the relative value of each option. Generally speaking, the sooner you can receive the lump sum, the more value it will have since you can invest it over a longer period. The monthly payment option may be more valuable if you expect to live a long time after you start receiving benefits. Other factors include inflation, your additional sources of income and how prudently you can manage a large sum of money. A major financial decision like choosing between a lump sum or monthly payout can benefit from the ******* istance of a financial advisor.
Sometimes companies with pension plans offer current and future retirees the option of receiving a large one-time payment instead of a series of smaller payments usually administered on a monthly basis. These buyouts represent a way for companies to manage their risk while also offering some potential advantages to retirees.
Deciding whether or not to accept a lump sum offer involves evaluating a number of factors. Some of these – such as the dollar amount of the lump sum or the monthly benefit – are clearly specified up front. For other key variables, such as the investment returns that can be expected or future inflation, the ******* sment has to rely on educated guesses about future developments.
Two of the most critical variables are when the lump sum will be paid and how long the employee expects to live. Generally speaking, the sooner the lump sum will be paid, the more value that choice ******* umes. Similarly, the longer the beneficiary expects to live, the more valuable the stream of payments is.
Some of the factors that need to be ******* sed include the beneficiary's current health, the age at which their parents died and the typical lifespan that can be expected by someone of their age and gender.

Impax ****** et Management, based in London and specializing in sustainable investing, released its Q2 2026 investor letter for the "Impax US Sustainable Economy Fund". The letter can be downloaded here. The US Sustainable Economy portfolio outperformed the Russell 1000 in Q2 2026, with Institutional Class at 17.96%, Investor Class at 17.95%, and Class A at 17.92%, versus the index's 15.14%. Sector allocation and stock selection drove performance. The sustainability tools, including the Impax Sustainability Lens and Corporate Resilience framework, contributed positively. Equity markets rallied, with both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq reaching new highs before retreating. A key trend was rotation into AI and tech stocks, supported by mega-cap earnings and data center investments (US$750bn to US$1tn). In the second half of 2026, markets may remain volatile amid debates on AI adoption pace and economic momentum. However, growth tied to energy security and efficiency remains compelling, with demand for power, grid, and resource-efficient solutions supporting companies that benefit. The team focuses on businesses with strong growth, sound management, and attractive valuations, adjusting holdings as needed. This approach aims to build well-diversified, differentiated portfolios. Also, please check the fund's top five holdings for its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Impax US Sustainable Economy Fund highlighted Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE). Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) is a multinational technology company that offers creative, digital media, and document management products. On September 04, 2026, Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) closed at $266.51 per share. Over the past month, Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) declined 2.36%, but its shares are down 25.69% over the past year. Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) has a market capitalization of $105.94 billion.
Impax US Sustainable Economy Fund stated the following regarding Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) (Application Software, Information Technology) is held for its high Sustainability Lens opportunity profile across Digital Infrastructure and Education themes and its strong Corporate Resilience score. The stock declined in the quarter following results that, while solid in absolute terms, fell short of the elevated investor expectations that had built over the prior year. Concerns about the pace of monetization from its AI-integrated creative tools, and competitive pressure from lower-cost generative AI platforms, weighed on sentiment and drove a valuation de-rating."

NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) biggest lingering investor concern was customer concentration, CNBC reported. Nvidia relies on hyperscalers Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, along with major buyers Meta and ****** eX, for an outsized share of revenue, and in May began splitting its data center reporting into "hyperscalers" versus everyone else, a group it calls AI clouds, industrial, and enterprise, or ACIE. In the first quarter, the two segments were nearly even, at $37.9 billion for hyperscalers and $37.5 billion for ACIE, with ACIE growing 31% versus a slower pace for hyperscalers. CEO Jensen Huang has said the "easiest go-to-market" is hyperscalers "because there are only five or six of them," versus "250,000 companies" in the broader industry Nvidia hopes to reach.
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA)'s actual results answered the concentration question better than investors feared. In a later quarter, Data Center revenue reached $89 billion (beating the $85.8 billion forecast), while CFO Colette Kress noted that hyperscale revenue more than doubled. ACIE revenue surged 138%, an outcome showing the smaller, more diversified customer base is now growing even faster than the concentrated hyperscaler group Nvidia has leaned on most heavily.
Huang's own framing shows the concentration is a go-to-market choice, not a structural ceiling. Huang has described hyperscalers as simply the "easiest" customers to sell to first because there are only a handful of them, while pointing to roughly 250,000 other companies as the long-term addressable market. It means today's concentration shows where Nvidia started selling, not the limit of where it can sell.
Even Nvidia's most concentrated customers keep buying at scale despite their own cost pressures. Hyperscalers have continued purchasing GPUs in bulk even as their free cash flow gets squeezed by capital spending, evidence that AI infrastructure remains a top spending priority for these companies rather than an area facing near-term cutbacks.
The underlying dependence is still there, even if this quarter's mix improved. Nvidia continues to draw an outsized share of revenue from just three hyperscalers plus Meta and ****** eX. Each of those companies is actively designing its own custom chips specifically to reduce reliance on Nvidia. It is a long-term competitive threat that one strong ACIE quarter does not eliminate.

Palantir shares gained 7.7% on September 3, the same day PwC US expanded an alliance built around enterprise AI, M&A, and ERP modernization. The companies described an AI-native deals platform intended to execute transactions up to 50% faster and cut one-time costs by as much as 45%, but disclosed no new contract value. The same day, Globant introduced a MuleSoft AI Pod for Salesforce integration. Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTR) and Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) are packaging expertise around software in very different ways.
Palantir's bull case is productized delivery. PwC can bring industry relationships and implementation capacity, while Foundry and AIP remain the recurring platform. Palantir's Q2 revenue rose 93% to $1.94 billion, including 149% growth in U.S. commercial revenue, so the alliance lands on real momentum. Arrowstreet Capital held 20,517,115 shares at June 30 after increasing its stake by 97%.
The valuation is the obvious counterweight. A partnership announcement without disclosed revenue cannot by itself justify a large daily move. Receivables concentration, stock-based compensation, and competition from clouds and consultants deserve attention. Hedge-fund breadth had already weakened: Insider Monkey counted 86 funds holding Palantir at June 30, down from 96 at March 31.
Globant's AI Pod offers a more explicit delivery unit. Configurations support roughly six, 12, or 24 integration flows or APIs per month, and the company cited benchmarks including up to 80% automation and 15% to 25% faster time to value. That makes capacity tangible. Twenty-three hedge funds held Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) in Q2, down from 25 in Q1. Pzena Investment Management reported 3,859,718 shares after adding 31%.
Globant's problem is that reusable pods can still be labor businesses. The service remains on a waitlist, the benchmark outcomes are not guaranteed customer results, and AI may pressure billing rates even as it improves productivity.

Nvidia's (NVDA) big deal for Hugging Face makes strategic sense not only for Nvidia, but for a wider tech industry barreling right through the AI era.
"Jensen [CEO Jensen Huang] knows this [deal] is very strategic. So in the end, if he's helped accelerate the momentum of adoption [of AI] in enterprise, that's all good news," Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) CEO Antonio Neri told Yahoo Finance in an interview.
The acquisition — confirmed on Thursday — gives the chip giant direct access to the world's largest repository of AI models and datasets. That repository is used by over 18 million developers and 200,000 enterprise organizations worldwide.
Strategically, the move gives Nvidia unparalleled real-time visibility into developer trends, popular model architectures, and emerging framework preferences across the global AI ecosystem.
Added Neri, "We need to find ways to continue to optimize the economics because the reality is that you're going to use different types of tokens from different types of models to deliver the outcome. You're looking at an AI agent process approach. So you're going to have frontier models, open-source models and open-weight models. But the reality is also that China obviously has been a big contributor to the open-source community and is leveraging the open-source community for their own needs. So we need to strike a balance, and therefore having a much stronger presence in the open source communities is incredible."

The greenback has begun the month with its momentum challenged by the more recent labor data. The August ADP report was 38,000 compared to the 48,000 report that economists expected, and also showed a loss of jobs in manufacturing as well as professional and business services. The report supports signs of cooling hiring, and was lower for Treasury yields. Even with the reports, futures still hint at a 60%–65% likelihood of a rate hike in September by the Fed. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh also kept a hawkish stance at Jackson Hole with his speech, keeping expectations of a rate hike high. Friday's employment data will be the last big report with the potential to change expectations, and a weak report will drop the likelihood of a rate hike.
The euro still supports a firm policy with eurozone inflation reaching 3.3% in August from July's 2.9%. This increase was largely due to the Iran conflict and the resulting energy costs. The markets have priced in the expected 25 basis point increase with the deposit rate most likely to reach 2.50% for this hike. With core inflation reaching 2.4%, a more cautious slow pace of tightening is expected, rather than a prolonged hiking period.
Sterling is facing the harder of the two domestics. Gilt yields for the ten year have reached their highest level since 2007 at 5.294% with energy costs, inflation, and fiscal concerns and spending all reaching a high prior to the October budget. The BoE is still expected to hold Bank Rate at 3.75% in September, but a 25 basis point hike is expected in the coming year at later dates.
The movement of the FX theme for September 3 is expected to be data-dependent. Soft U.S. hiring diminishes the conviction of the Fed Funds rate hike, and the ECB retains the most compelling case for forward tightening. In the meantime, fiscal stress is holding back GBP, despite higher than desired inflation.
For September 3, the FX theme appears to be increasingly data dependent. Soft U.S. hiring diminishes the conviction of the Fed Funds rate hike, and the ECB maintains the most persuasive case for front-running tightening.

Bitcoin and ethereum prices are tumbling this morning in the wake of another round of U.S. airstrikes against Iranian targets, escalating the violent war between the two countries. Iran retaliated to the latest strikes by attacking U.S. military bases with rockets and drones.

Nvidia Corporation (NVDA) may be setting up another major catalyst for investors as the chip giant reportedly agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion. According to The Information, the deal would rank among Nvidia's largest acquisitions and give the company control over one of the most important platforms in the open-source artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem.
The strategic logic extends well beyond simply adding another AI company to Nvidia's portfolio. Hugging Face hosts millions of AI models and datasets and has become a key destination for developers building and deploying open-source AI. Owning the platform could allow Nvidia to strengthen its position at the software and developer layer of AI, potentially reinforcing demand for its GPUs and CUDA ecosystem. It could also provide a counterweight to closed-model leaders such as OpenAI and Anthropic, which are increasingly pursuing proprietary AI chips that could reduce their dependence on Nvidia.

Underperforming store locations have been a major problem for various retail sectors, such as supermarkets, apparel shops, and drugstore chains, forcing retailers to close shops to eliminate a drain on liquidity.
Restaurants have also closed struggling locations to cut their losses, and now manufacturers are also closing underperforming facilities as well.
Giant tool company Stanley Black & Decker Inc. plans to close its underperforming Hampstead, Md., factory and lay off 55 workers, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice filed with the Maryland Department of Labor on Aug. 19.
Layoffs at the factory are set to begin on Oct. 23, 2026, and continue through the facility's closing by March 26, 2027, according to the WARN notice.
"Over the past few years, we have seen a steady decline in volume in the materials produced at our Hampstead, Maryland, manufacturing facility," Stanley Black & Decker spokesperson Debora Raymond told the Baltimore Sun.

The price of bitcoin continued to trade around three-month highs near $80,000 Thursday, spurred by last week's Treasury Department bond buyback plan and renewed regulatory agitation from the Trump administration. Bitcoin miner and high-performance computing infrastructure provider IREN topped revenue estimates after the close.
Crypto stocks swung higher Thursday.
Bitcoin miner turned AI and HPC infrastructure provider IREN (IREN) posted mixed results late Thursday.
IREN reported a loss of $684 million, compared to net income of $176.9 million for the quarter last year.
Revenue fell 27% to $137.2 million, driven by a decline in crypto mining revenue due to falling prices and IREN's AI shift.

Checking in to see what billionaire investors are doing is a great way to source ideas for your own portfolio. One whom I follow is Stanley Druckenmiller, a former hedge fund manager who now runs the Duquesne Family Office. No later than 45 days after the end of each quarter, organizations that have more than $100 million under management are required to file a Form 13F with the SEC, which discloses their holdings at the end of that quarter. By comparing these forms with the prior ones, we can get some insights into what moves they made during the period.
Druckenmiller made some major purchases in Q2, including boosting its stake in Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM) by nearly 20%. The chip foundry giant is now the Duquesne Family Office's second-largest holding. However, those purchases all happened by June 30. So the question is: Is Taiwan Semiconductor stock still a buy now?
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Because 13F forms only describe a fund's end-of-quarter holdings, Druckenmiller could have bought these new TSMC shares any time between April 1 and June 30. Right now, the stock is down by more than 10% from the high it established at the end of June, but it's up over 20% from April 1. So, depending on when Druckenmiller bought shares, today's price may or may not be cheaper than when he got in.
But that doesn't matter. What really matters is where Taiwan Semiconductor is heading, and I think the future looks bright for it.

Drug stock Novavax Inc (NASDAQ:NVAX) is trading 2.8% lower at $9.18 this afternoon, pulling back from yesterday's surge to six-week highs. Today's drop has put the equity in a deficit for the quarter, though NVAX shares remain 36% higher year-to-date. The stock recently enjoyed a lift after trial results for its skin cancer vaccine with Moderna (MRNA) showed positive results.
Options traders are betting on the downfall of NVAX however, with 29,000 puts across the tape so far. This is 32 times the average daily rate, with the most active contracts being the weekly January 21, 2028 10-strike put and January 15, 2027 10-strike put.
In the near term, options traders are taking a different stance. This is per NVAX's Shaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) of 0.13, which sits in the 10th percentile of its annual range. Should this bullish sentiment begin to unwind, it could trigger more headwinds for the shares.
Short interest has been on the rise, up 4.2% over the most recent reporting period, now accounting for 29% of the stock's available float. At the stock's average pace of trading, it would take short sellers over two weeks to buy back their bearish bets.
Plus, options are looking affordable, per NVAX's Schaeffer's Volatility Index (SVI) of 80%, which ranks in the 27th percentile of its annual range.

The second quarter earnings season is nearly complete, and Nvidia's (NVDA) Q2 earnings beat on Wednesday served as a keystone to a remarkably strong stretch of corporate reports.
Nvidia stock jumped 5% during premarket trading on Thursday following the company's earnings release.
Software and cybersecurity stocks also rose before the bell on Thursday following a string of strong earnings reports. Salesforce (CRM), CrowdStrike (CRWD), and Okta (OKTA) stocks lifted by double digits in premarket trading.
According to FactSet data, second quarter earnings for S&P 500 companies are on pace to rise 50% year over year, the highest growth rate since 2021. Artificial intelligence has been the growth engine of that broad-based earnings growth, Bank of America strategists noted.
In addition to Nvidia's results, investors weighed key updates this week from dollar stores Dollar Tree (DLTR) and Dollar General (DG), software companies Intuit (INTU) and Zoom (ZM), and other retailers like **** 's Sporting Goods (DKS) and Kohl's (KSS).
