With the opening-week performances from QB Jaxon Pehrson and two-way star Diesel Dart, the Chargers showed they're still frontrunners until further notice.
Pehrson threw three touchdowns of 60 yards or more, Dart tossed three touchdowns, and the Chargers had a 23-second stretch in which they scored 16 points, dominating Davis (Kaysville, UT) 51-14.

Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback Sam Darnold and No. 1 wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba arguably were the best QB-WR pairing in the NFL last season. It's partially why the Seahawks won Super Bowl 60. Their connection was once again fully on display at Wednesday's 10th training camp practice.
Smith-Njigba posted a league-leading 1,793 receiving yards last season. JSN was rewarded for his individual accolades by being named Offensive Player of the Year. Smith-Njigba has picked up right where he left off this offseason.
Smith-Njigba was downright dominant at Wednesday's practice, per ESPN reporter Brady Henderson, who was in attendance. "It was great to see him come alive," head coach Mike Macdonald said after practice. "Some of those in high-leverage situations, too. … There's defensive attention on where he's at at all times, too, so for him to be able to make those plays, it's great for the Seahawks, great for him."
Darnold has so many pass-catching weapons at his disposal. Cooper Kupp, Rashid Shaheed, and AJ Barner are proven threats. Sophomores Elijah Arroyo and Tory Horton are expected to take developmental steps forward. The running game has been revamped with the additions of Emanuel Wilson and Jadarian Price, and possibly a bigger role for George Holani.

According to NFL.com's Anthony Holzman-Escareno, the Seahawks had the fourth-highest total yards differential in the NFL last season, having outgained opponents by 1,113 yards.
The New England Patriots (+1,430), Buffalo Bills (+1,414), and Los Angeles Rams (+1,141) had higher differentials than the Seahawks on the year.

Tom Izzo has a clear idea of who will be starting at power forward for the Spartans this season. But he wouldn't completely commit to that spot being locked down during a recent interview.
Izzo joined national college basketball ****** yst Jon Rothstein on his show on Tuesday to discuss a number of things surrounding the Spartans and college basketball as a whole. During the interview, Izzo stated sophomore Cam Ward "should be" the starting power forward for the Spartans this season. But there's still room for improvement.
"(Ward) still gotta keep improving his shot," Izzo said during the interview. "But he's really improving his ability to put it on the floor, defend people and become a much better rebounder."
Michigan State has an opening at power forward with senior Jaxon Kohler not expected to be with the Spartans this upcoming season. He may end up having a fifth year of eligibility, but he is reportedly being pursued by BYU, Kansas and Kentucky as a transfer addition.
As a true freshman, Ward showed signs of being the next great Spartan at power forward. He ended the season averaging 5.1 points, 4.2 rebound and 0.5 blocks across roughly 15 minutes per game.

There's nothing wrong with that strategy, but often I come out with rosters that are more about leftovers than they are about players I actually like. This year I'm going to try to remember that it's okay to "overpay" occasionally for a player I really believe in, or a player I especially need at the time. Plus, heck, you're supposed to ****** emble a team you're going to enjoy following for several months. Don't forget to have some fun with it, too. — Scott Pianowski
It's probably a bit of a stretch to call Daniel Jones Shane Steichen's handpicked guy but at the same time, it was pretty clear that the Colts were putting their thumb on the scale to make him the heavy favorite in last year's camp competition. Regardless, I allowed my own bias about how Jones had played over the last couple of seasons to essentially prevent a ceiling outcome from even crossing my mind. I ended up losing out on chances at significant value for multiple Colts players—many of whom I had been a long-time defender of like Alec Pierce and Michael Pittman Jr.—late in fantasy drafts. Generally, if a sharp play-caller like Steichen taps a reclamation project passer who has shown positive signs in their career, we should be open to the possibility they bring some ADP beats up along with them. This season, I'm keeping my mind open to Kyler Murray reviving the Vikings offense, should he indeed prove to be Kevin O'Connell's Week 1 starter. — Matt Harmon
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the perfect example — working behind or next to DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett for his opening two seasons. Very few memorable plays stood out. His role was more restricting than we hoped. It was easy to think we already knew what he was as an NFL player. Nico Collins was another perfect example back in 2023. But before the Year 2 breakout there was the Year 3 breakout. Before we believed the best fantasy ****** ets performed at their peak player immediately, we actually had some patience — especially in new situations. Whether that be a seismic coaching staff change in the form of a new play-caller, a new starting quarterback they are attached to or a sociable shift in the pecking order — and sometimes even all of the above. A former Spartan will pursue the opportunity to play again at the college level, and he has some teams in mind for where he could end up.
Former Michigan State Spartans forward Jaxon Kohler will reportedly explore a return to college basketball for a fifth season, with a trio of new teams in the mix. According to college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, Kohler is receiving interest from Kansas, Kentucky and BYU. A return to Michigan State is also considered as "possible" by Rothstein.

But there's a name that may not be at the top of the list of potential x-factors that could raise the Buckeyes' ceiling even more. One of the favorite offseason pieces of content is ranking the top players at every position and letting the discussion commence. Or arguments, or however folks like to get their points across.
Here's a take for you to ponder: Amon-Ra St. Brown as the fifth-best wide receiver in the NFL. That's where the Sun God landed in the wide receiver rankings over at Pro Football Focus, from Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick.
St. Brown has been as steady as they come over the past four seasons with the Lions. His 93.6 PFF receiving grade since 2022 ranks second in the NFL behind only Puka Nacua. No receiver has been better at moving the chains, as St. Brown's 285 combined receiving first downs and touchdowns over that span are 16 more than any other wide receiver. The former fourth-round pick's 33 receiving touchdowns over the past three seasons also lead the NFL.
Steady as they come. Excellent way to describe St. Brown. Since his breakout rookie season, St. Brown has been the straw that stirs the drink in the Lions' passing attack. Four straight 100-catch and 1,000-yard seasons, plus three straight seasons with double-digit touchdowns. He may not be the top guy for a lot of **** ysts, but he's not far off and is one of the very safe bets, especially if you are looking at him for your upcoming fantasy football drafts.
The only receivers ranked ahead of St. Brown on this list are Puka Nacua (Los Angeles Rams), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Seattle Seahawks), Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings) and Ja'Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals).

Here's a take for you to ponder: Amon-Ra St. Brown as the fifth-best wide receiver in the NFL. That's where the Sun God landed in the wide receiver rankings over at Pro Football Focus, from Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick.
St. Brown has been as steady as they come over the past four seasons with the Lions. His 93.6 PFF receiving grade since 2022 ranks second in the NFL behind only Puka Nacua. No receiver has been better at moving the chains, as St. Brown's 285 combined receiving first downs and touchdowns over that span are 16 more than any other wide receiver. The former fourth-round pick's 33 receiving touchdowns over the past three seasons also lead the NFL.
Steady as they come. Excellent way to describe St. Brown. Since his breakout rookie season, St. Brown has been the straw that stirs the drink in the Lions' passing attack. Four straight 100-catch and 1,000-yard seasons, plus three straight seasons with double-digit touchdowns. He may not be the top guy for a lot of **** ysts, but he's not far off and is one of the very safe bets, especially if you are looking at him for your upcoming fantasy football drafts.
The only receivers ranked ahead of St. Brown on this list are Puka Nacua (Los Angeles Rams), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Seattle Seahawks), Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings) and Ja'Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals).

Naturally, Holloman was asked about the decision to leave, along with a potential return if the NCAA allows players like him and Jaxon Kohler to have one more year of eligibility.

As NFL training camps get set to open over the next week, HBO and NFL Films released the trailer for this season's edition of "Hard Knocks," which will feature the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
The series will premiere a week earlier than originally scheduled on Aug. 4 at 9 p.m. ET. The 27th season of the show will follow Mike Macdonald's team as they prepare to defend their **** le.
Seahawks rookies reported last Friday and will be joined by the veterans last this week as camp fully gets underway in Renton, Wash.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider declined an offer in 2013 to appear on "Hard Knocks," saying the team did not want to bring "attention to ourselves." There weren’t many positive takeaways from the end of the Green Bay Packers’ 2025 season, but as a whole, it did allow Jordan Love to build two of the strongest connections in the league.

The Seattle Seahawks will officially begin training camp with a veterans reporting date of July 24. John Schneider's rookie class reports to Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton one week earlier on July 17, giving them a chance to acclimate to their first professional camp. The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl last season with a talented roster on both offense and defense, but as they look to repeat as champions in 2026, a trade many be necessary to strengthen their team prior to the NFL trade deadline next autumn.
According to ClutchPoints' Bailey Bassett, Zach Charbonnet is among three prime trade candidates for the Seahawks this year, also including Tory Horton and Ernest Jones IV.
"The Seahawks backfield changes led to them selecting Jadarian Price in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, which only further clouds Charbonnet's future. …" Bassett said. "…The fact that Charbonnet may not be of help during a ***** le defense only increases the likelihood that he could be traded."
Charbonnet was highly effective as the 1B to Kenneth Walker's 1A in Seattle's offensive backfield last season. He rushed for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2025, but with his health in question for the start of the upcoming season after tearing his ACL in the NFC divisional round of the playoffs last season, moving him may be beneficial for the team in a favorable deal.
Horton has much talent at the wide receiver position, but there's not enough room for him to shine in the way that he may be capable of doing alongside AP Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed and Cooper Kupp. Another favorable return will be sensible for the Seahawks to sign off on in a deal for Horton in the event that one presents itself.
