After months of waiting, the Philadelphia Eagles took the field Wednesday morning for their first practice of the 2026 training camp, beginning several weeks of preparation, competition and roster evaluation at the Jefferson Health Training Complex.
Practice was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. after head coach Nick Sirianni spoke with reporters at 9:30. The opening session will provide the first on-field look at Sean Mannion's new offense, Philadelphia's revamped receiving corps and several competitions that will help shape the initial 53-man roster.
Attention will center on Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith as the offense begins installing Mannion's system. The defense will feature Jalen Carter following his record-setting contract extension, while Jonathan Greenard's absence creates additional opportunities for Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith, Arnold Ebiketie and A.J. Epenesa.
The secondary will also command attention as Riq Woolen begins competing for a prominent role alongside Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Marcus Epps, Andrew Mukuba and the rest of the safety group will begin sorting through responsibilities in Vic Fangio's defense.
This live blog will be updated throughout the morning with photos, videos, news, observations and notable moments from the practice fields. Follow along as the Eagles officially begin their work toward the 2026 regular season.

While European football stands united in opposition to FIFA's latest multi-billion-dollar commercial scheme, one prominent member ******* ociation boss has chosen to take a very different stance.
The general consensus on FIFA's $20 billion commercial spinoff is simple: if money talks, Gianni Infantino has turned the volume up to maximum, while Europe has hit the mute ******* on.
FIFA's non-European federations are practically drooling over promised $20 million development payouts, viewing the private equity cash-in as a windfall.
Meanwhile, UEFA, European clubs, and fans are horrified, insisting the "soul of football isn't for sale".
In short: FIFA wants to sell a slice of its World Cup pie to Wall Street to enrich smaller nations, while Europe fears private investors will turn the beautiful game into a corporate cash grab.

While the Nasdaq composite slides below its 50-day moving average and the S&P 500 remains below that benchmark, Raymond James Financial (RJF) has popped onto the Investor's Business Daily Breakout Stocks Index. The financial services and ******* et management firm joins nine other companies in the broad banking and financial sectors.
Bank Of America (BAC), Goldman Sachs (GS), U.S. Bancorp (USB), UBS (UBS) and Bank Of New York Mellon (BNY) also made the list. In a sign of where the big Wall Street money is flowing, 10 out of the 25 names on the latest weekly update of the IBD Breakout Stocks Index hail from the banking and financial sectors.
An A+ Accumulation/Distribution Rating clearly shows institutional demand for shares of Raymond James. The score shows heavy buying of the stock by mutual funds and other large players over the last 13 weeks.
After posting single-digit top- and bottom-line growth in 2025, a projected return to double-digit earnings and sales growth this year and next provides one catalyst.
In the second quarter, Raymond James generated a 16% rise in revenue to $3.288 billion. Earnings spiked 44% to $3.14 per share. For the full year, Wall Street forecasts 12% sales growth to $15.7 billion and a 14% jump in earnings to $12.15 a share.

Ramadan "The Scorpion" Ondash and Abdallah Ondash are brothers, close friends, and ruthless training partners who have spent much of their lives pushing each other toward the highest levels of Muay Thai.
The 19-year-old Ramadan will face former friend Johan "Jojo" Ghazali in a flyweight Muay Thai co-main event of The Inner Circle 24 on Friday, July 31.
Six years his senior, Abdallah will compete earlier that evening when he seeks revenge against Chokpreecha PK TomTKalaiyont in a strawweight rematch. The event streams live in Asia primetime from Bangkok's iconic Lumpinee Stadium exclusively for members at live.onefc.com.
The Lebanese siblings have already competed on the same ONE Championship card four times, winning every bout between them. Remarkably, each brother has suffered only one promotional setback, and both defeats came when the other was not competing alongside him.
Martial arts has always occupied an important place in the Ondash family. Their father was a wrestler, while their brother Ahmad became the first family member to seriously pursue Muay Thai and later opened a gym in Lebanon.

As of 11:38 AM ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI) is up 0.13% to 52,017.19, while the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) is down 0.33% to 7,387.76, and the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) has slipped 0.44% to 24,840.43 as tech pressure offsets optimism from cooling geopolitical tensions.
Gold is up 0.45% to $4,074.30, and the 10-Year Treasury yield is down 0.03% to 4.65%. Communications and consumer defensive stocks are this morning's top-performing sectors while technology and energy sectors are in the red.
RTX Corp climbed 2.61% to $218.28 on strong Q2 earnings. SAP surged 7.4% to $171.79, extending last week's gains after the software company beat earnings expectations. Conversely, Nvidia is trading lower amid concerns about Chinese competition. Reddit is up 6.7% to 171.79 on optimism about its upcoming earnings.
Oil prices fell this morning on news of a pause in strikes between the U.S. and Iran. WTI crude oil fell almost 7% to $83.15 a barrel, boosting market sentiment and lifting the Dow slightly. However, investors are braced for further volatility and will be watching the Federal Reserve meeting this week. The Fed is widely expected to leave rates unchanged in July, but inflationary pressures caused by ongoing tensions in the Middle East and high spending by tech companies could prompt it to raise rates before the end of the year.
On the other side, renewed artificial intelligence (AI) valuation concerns weighed on markets. This week will bring earnings from Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Apple, and Amazon, and investors will be paying close attention to capital expenditure plans. The high concentration in the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 means any drop in their share prices will have an outsized impact on these major indexes.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is seeking to position itself as the platform of choice for enterprise frontier AI adoption. It is part of the company's strategy of extending its cloud platform, Azure, beyond traditional infrastructure into the foundation for nmext-generation AI computing.
That was evident on July 21, as the software giant confirmed the expansion of its strategic partnership with Mistral. The collaboration is designed to give enterprises and regulated industries access to frontier AI models that they can deploy with greater control over security, governance, and compliance.
The expanded partnership reinforces Microsoft's ambition to become the trusted AI infrastructure provider for highly regulated industries, including financial services, healthcare, government, defense, energy, and manufacturing.
As part of this agreement, Microsoft will use Mistral's expanding European GPU infrastructure. Mistral, on the other hand, has added its AI models called Medium 3.5 and OCR 4 to Microsoft's app builder known as Foundry; while Microsoft Copilot Studio has brought on Medium 3.5 as well.

The AI memory supercycle has emerged as one of 2026's most defining stories, and also one of its most contested. Hyperscaler capital expenditure is expected to reach $750 billion this year, with Goldman Sachs forecasting $7.6 trillion in total AI infrastructure spending through 2031, resulting in a supply shortage of NAND and DRAM memory as data center demand for high-performance storage clashes against the chipmakers' capacity limitations.
That scarcity has been aggravated by reports that TSMC may boost contract chip manufacturing prices by up to 10% in 2027, with some products facing increases of up to 20%, owing to increased materials, equipment, and overseas facility development expenses.
Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) is one of the names that have benefited the most from the supercycle. Since its February 2025 spinoff from Western Digital at $35.06 per share, Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) has become the single best-performing stock in the S&P 500, climbing up to 858% at its late-June peak on the back of explosive fundamentals: fiscal Q3 2026 revenue reached $5.95 billion, up 97% sequentially and 251% year-over-year, with datacenter revenue specifically up 645% year-over-year.
Management anticipates continued sequential acceleration in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, with total revenue expected to range between $7.75 billion and $8.25 billion and non-GAAP earnings per share between $30 and $33, as gross margins increase to near 80%. More crucially, Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) reported that its remaining performance obligations and contracted backlog came in between $41.6 billion and $42 billion. Sandisk's entire 2026 enterprise AI storage capacity is sold out under long-term agreements, thus locking in multibillion-dollar cash flows for the rest of the calendar year.
Despite its strong operational reports, Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) has not been immune to macroeconomic turbulence. In mid-July, shares fell 8% to 15% across a number of sessions, contributing to a 39% slide from late-June record highs, as the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell more than 20%. According to market ****** ysts, this pullback is the result of an industry-wide valuation adjustment rather than a structural decline in memory demand or corporate earnings power.

On July 23, both Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE:UNP) and Norfolk Southern Corporation (NYSE:NSC) delivered their Q2 results, giving investors better insight into which railroad stock is the better play. While both companies reported strong results, NSC's investment case is now tied to the possible acquisition. Investors must weigh UNP's standalone growth potential against NSC's risks and upside arising from the merger.
Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE:UNP) delivered an operating revenue of $6.9 billion and an adjusted EPS of $3.41, marking a surprise of 3% and 5%, respectively. Meanwhile, the company reported 6% EPS growth, with operating revenue up 12% YoY. Management sees full-year reported EPS growth in the high single-digit range, raising its 2026 outlook.
The strong results were mainly driven by freight revenue, which grew 12%, due to volume growth, fuel surcharge revenue, solid core pricing, and operational efficiency. The company reports being 10 basis points better on the operating ratio, standing at 59.2%.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager hit a solo homer and made a nifty defensive play in a rehab appearance for Double-A Frisco on Tuesday night after being sidelined all this month because of lower back inflammation.
Seager is on the injured list for the third time this season, and has missed 52 games for Texas — one more than he has played for the AL West-leading Rangers. They are 24-28 without the two-time World Series MVP.
Seager went 1 for 2 with a walk and a strikeout against Corpus Christi, homering in the fifth before being replaced in the field after that inning. The top of the third ended when the shortstop made a backhanded stop in the hole and made a strong throw to first for the out.
His last game had been June 30 at Toronto, when he was removed in the first inning because of back discomfort. The rehab appearance came after Seager took live batting practice the previous two days before Rangers home games.
It wasn't immediately clear when he would rejoin the big league club.

Sarepta Therapeutics has found the leader it hopes can engineer a desperately needed turnaround.
The company on Monday announced that Michael Severino, an executive with leadership experience at startups as well as large drugmakers, will become its next CEO effective July 28. He'll replace longtime leader Doug Ingram, who in February announced plans to retire after a tumultuous run.
Severino has been working in the biopharmaceutical industry for more than two decades, including stops at AbbVie and Amgen. At AbbVie, Severino helped bring to market multiple drugs for psoriasis, arthritis, cancer and hepatitis C. At Amgen, he oversaw research and development as the company's senior vice president of development and corporate chief medical officer.
In 2022, Severino left AbbVie to run Tessera Therapeutics, a buzzy "gene writing" startup backed by Flagship Pioneering. Tessera recently brought its first drug prospect, a gene editing treatment for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, into clinical testing. Last week, Tessera announced that Severino had joined a "commercial stage" biotech company and that former Merck & Co. executive Joseph Romanelli would serve as its next leader.

SINGAPORE/HONG KONG, July 27 (Reuters) - Investors are expected to scrutinise whether Shein can justify the $40 billion to $50 billion valuation it is seeking in a Hong Kong initial public offering after a prospectus filed ‌on Sunday showed slowing growth and a sharp decline in profitability.
Revenue rose 8% to $41.8 billion in 2025, but net ‌income fell 39% to $2.06 billion. In the first quarter of this year, the fast fashion retailer swung to a $99 million loss, the filing showed.
While the quarterly loss partly reflected a $328 million fair-value charge on convertible redeemable preferred shares following an accounting change, slowing revenue growth and weaker core earnings underscore the company's mounting challenges.
"Institutional investors on the HKEX (Hong Kong Stock Exchange) will ... zero in on the 2.9% operating margin," said Winston Ma, executive director of the Global Public Investment Funds Forum and a former managing director at the China Investment Corporation.

Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang said the U.S. should embrace, not ban, China's AI models, arguing that high-quality open-source technology should be used rather than feared.
In an interview with Axios on Tuesday, Huang called the Chinese models "excellent" and dismissed concerns that OpenAI and Anthropic should fear open AI models, saying they broaden AI adoption by attracting new users, while many customers will still pay for the superior performance and reliability of closed models.
Huang pushed back on fears that downloaded Chinese AI models create a "backdoor" to Beijing, arguing they can be securely customized and isolated.

Global defense spending is entering a historic expansion phase, driven by geopolitical flashpoints from Ukraine to the Indo‑Pacific and record Pentagon budgets. NATO allies are racing to meet or exceed 2% of GDP defense commitments, while the U.S. has proposed a $1.5 trillion military budget for FY2027. Against this backdrop of rising military allocations and urgent weapons replenishment, Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE:LMT) has emerged as the sector's anchor, converting its record $230.4 billion backlog into profitable growth and securing new Pentagon contracts that reinforce its leadership in advanced defense systems.
Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE:LMT) shares surged more than 10% on July 23 after the company reported strong Q2 2026 earnings and secured additional business with the Pentagon. The stock is up more than 15% since the beginning of the year. This rally shows investor confidence in the company's ability to convert its massive backlog into profitable growth, even amid defense budget politics.

Lockheed has won $67.7 million from the Pentagon for a new pair of contracts. One of the contracts covers US Navy submarine systems upgrades and is worth up to $44.6 million. The other covers F-35 fighter jet maintenance depots for allied nations and is worth $23.1 million.
Lockheed's latest Pentagon contract awards arrive as defense spending continues to rise. Amid persistent geopolitical tensions, countries are moving to upgrade their defense capabilities and replenish weapon inventories.

U.S. stock futures moved higher on Monday as investors welcomed signs of a pause in hostilities between the United States and Iran, helping to ease pressure on energy markets ahead of a crucial week for corporate earnings and central bank decisions.
By 05:49 GMT, Dow Jones futures had gained 398 points, or 0.8%, while S&P 500 futures were up 66 points, or 0.9%. Nasdaq 100 futures led the advance, climbing 406 points, or 1.4%.
Wall Street ended last week on a mixed note as rising oil prices and geopolitical uncertainty weighed on investor sentiment. However, indications that the White House is seeking to avoid a broader military escalation have improved market confidence, pushing oil prices lower while supporting both equities and bond markets.
Investors are now turning their attention to one of the busiest weeks of the earnings season, with around one-third of S&P 500 companies scheduled to publish quarterly results. Overall earnings are forecast to increase by approximately 26.5% compared with the same period last year.
Several of the world's largest technology companies are due to report this week, including Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META), Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). Their results are expected to provide fresh insight into whether the rapid pace of investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure can continue, as markets increasingly debate the long-term profitability of AI-related spending.

Kia Corporation announced a 2.3% rise in net profits to KRW 2,327.8 trillion (US$ 1.59 billion) for the second quarter of 2026, up from KRW 2,268.2 trillion a year earlier, with US import tariffs and higher sales incentives offset by record global vehicle deliveries. Operating profits fell by 4.9% to KRW 2,628.5 trillion.
The South Korean automaker reported a 12.6% increase in global sales revenues to a record KRW 33,037.0 trillion in the three-month period, while global wholesale deliveries rose by 4.5% to 851,639 vehicles – including 154,816 units in South Korea and 696,823 units overseas. The company was not affected by the component shortages that held back Hyundai Motor's second-quarter results.
Sales of electrified vehicles jumped 60% to 296,000 units, accounting for 35% of Kia's global sales, driven by strong hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) sales in the US and higher battery electric vehicle (BEV) demand in South Korea and Europe. Total HEV retail sales rose by 61% to 178,000 units, helped by the launch of the new Telluride and Seltos models, with sales in the US surging by 152% to 66,000 units, while total BEV retail sales surged by 88% to 110,000 units.
Kia said it expects solid business results in the second half of 2026 to enable it to meet its full-year guidance, "supported by competitive new model offerings and sustained BEV and HEV demand." The company is targeting 3.35 million global vehicle sales in 2026, supported by the launch of new BEV models in Europe and a recovery in Middle Eastern demand.
In the US, Kia said that its plans to expand production capacity of the Telluride SUV, including hybrid variants, and the ramp up of deliveries of the Sportage hybrid produced at the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) will help enhance profitability.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) beat quarterly expectations, secured $20 billion in net awards, reported record backlog, and raised its 2026 sales and MTM-adjusted earnings forecasts. Yet the shares closed 2.23% lower at $512.29 on July 21.
The contradiction becomes clearer when the quality of the earnings beat is separated from the size of the order book. ***** ysts said a substantially lower tax rate drove much of the upside, while operating income declined in two of Northrop's four segments. The company also left its segment operating-income and adjusted free-cash-flow forecasts unchanged.
JPMorgan ***** yst Seth Seifman pointed to the market's "tendency to punish execution challenges." That appears to capture the reaction. Investors did not question whether Northrop can win more work. They questioned how much profit it can retain while delivering that work and expanding production.
Are the latest program charges temporary costs of meeting surging defense demand, or evidence that Northrop's backlog is growing faster than its ability to execute profitably?
The bull case is that Northrop's execution problems remain concentrated in a few programs, while the broader demand environment is becoming stronger.

RTX Corporation (NYSE:RTX) on Thursday lifted its sales and profit outlook for 2026, amid sustained demand for commercial aircraft maintenance and military systems, as airlines continue to rely on older fleets and governments restock weapons.
The aerospace and defense company now projects adjusted sales in the range of $95 billion to $96 billion, up from its earlier estimates of $92.5 billion to $93.5 billion. Wall Street has an average forecast of $94.08 billion. The full-year adjusted EPS is expected in the range of $7.10 to $7.25, up from $6.70 to $6.90, and above ******* ysts' forecast of $6.92 per share.
The forecast lift came during the second quarter earnings call on July 23, where RTX beat Wall Street's estimates for both revenue and profit. Quarterly revenue came in at $24.7 billion, growing 14% year-over-year, while adjusted EPS was logged at $1.89, representing a 21% increase from the prior year's period.

File it as today's "what the actual **** " moment in the sports world. The Times is reporting that FIFA president Gianni Infantino has been in talks with private investors about selling stakes in the World Cup. It's a move that would take complete control of the global tournament out of FIFA's hands, and give a seat at the table to private entities with their own agendas. Moreover, the report added that a key figure in brokering these deals is U.S. President Donald Trump, whom Infantino cozied up to during the 2026 World Cup by presenting him with the inaugural FIFA peace prize and then sitting next to the president at games he attended.
FIFA has since confirmed the report, adding that Josh Kushner is positioned to be the lead investor in the plan, should Infantino elect to sell shares in the World Cup. Josh is the brother of Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son in law.
Details of the plan are nebulous, but according to the report, the World Cup would ostensibly be split off from FIFA and into a new corporation, with Infantino as its commissioner as soon as his term as FIFA president ends in 2031. In his role as commissioner of this new company he would oversee the men's and women's World Cup, as well as the Club World Cup — with plans to run tournaments more frequently than every four years. It would be the most staggering pivot in the history of the World Cup, drastically altering the future of the tournament in order to squeeze more money out of the event.
Infantino can't privatize the World Cup unilaterally, requiring the 211 member nations to vote on the proposal. The selling point for these members is that each of them would get a stake in the new company worth approximately $20M — putting a valuation on the entity at $4.22B. If that $20M sum for each nation seems paltry, it's because it is, and it appears that is the plan by design.
Member nations would have the freedom to keep or sell their stakes in the World Cup corporation at their will under the Infantino plan. $20M is a pittance for the richest nations competing in global soccer, but for the dozens of nations dealing with budgetary issues it would enable them to sell out of the World Cup in desperation, putting their stakes in the hands of private ownership. It's easy to envision a scenario where enough FIFA member countries sell their shares for profit to a point where the controlling interest of the World Cup is no longer under the control of a true democratic body, but private equity.

If your portfolio has been riding the same cluster of mega-cap technology stocks since 2023, Morgan Stanley has a timely warning.
The S&P 500climbed about 20% from its April low to a record high near 7,620 on June 2, fueled by optimism over the U.S.–Iran ceasefire and persistent enthusiasm for artificial intelligence.
Since then, the benchmark has stalled, closing near 7,457 on July 17 and struggling to gain traction despite strong corporate earnings.
Giant stocks are pulling in opposite directions, and those offsetting moves are keeping the broader market locked in place.
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management chief investment officer Lisa Shalett laid out those dynamics in her July Global Investment Committee presentation.

Interested in RTX Corporation? Here are five stocks we like better.
RTX and Lockheed Martin both beat Q2 earnings and revenue estimates, sending shares up 7% and 10%, respectively, and expanding their record contract backlogs.
Neither company's backlog yet reflects the resumed Iran conflict, while an unenacted 2027 NDAA could threaten multiyear defense procurement contracts if not signed by October 1.
Lockheed's backlog is nearly all defense-related with limited commodity risk, whereas RTX's backlog is 58% exposed to commercial aerospace risks like fuel prices and airline capacity.
The war trade has resumed in July, and earnings from two of the U.S.'s most prominent defense contractors are leading the tape. After weak Q1 reports and a tenuous Iran ceasefire, aerospace and defense stocks deepened their drawdowns as the market repriced the re-stock trade and institutional selling intensified. But now that the war is back on and Q2 reports from defense companies are rolling in, the repricing is being repriced. Does the defense trade have staying power this time?

As Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers look to reload their passing attack, all eyes are on marquee addition Mike Evans. While Shanahan's offense has long been hailed as one of the NFL's premier schemes, the turnover in last season's receiving corps left a distinct void on the perimeter.
Last year, San Francisco pieced together a receiver room centered around Jauan Jennings, Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, and Ricky Pearsall. While that group offered versatility and grit through a grinding campaign, the offense frequently lacked a true boundary "X" receiver capable of consistently winning pure, unassisted one-on-one battles outside the numbers.
That is precisely where Evans changes the equation.
According to data from Sumner Sports cited by Athlon Sports' Doug Farrar, Evans has been the league's gold standard for isolation efficiency when healthy. Over the past two seasons, Evans generated an Expected Points Added (EPA) per play of +0.379 on isolation targets—the highest mark of any receiver in the NFL with at least 50 such targets. Across 180 isolation routes, he pulled in 328 yards and six touchdowns on 50 targets, boasting a remarkable 62.0% catch rate in true one-on-one scenarios.
For quarterback Brock Purdy, adding a legendary perimeter threat like Evans provides an entirely new dimension. Shanahan's system relies heavily on motion, scheme-created ****** e, and intermediate rhythm throws. But when opposing defenses load the box to stifle the run or drop safety help inside to blanket crossers, Evans becomes the ultimate counterpunch.

Warren Buffett stands as one of the most celebrated investors in history. Under his leadership at Berkshire Hathaway beginning in 1965, the investment conglomerate delivered a compound annual gain of 19.7% through 2025, almost double the S&P 500's (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) 10.5% average annual return over the same period.
That performance turned modest early investments into generational wealth for patient shareholders, validating Buffett's reputation for focusing on long-term value rather than short-term profits.

One tool the Oracle of Omaha has long employed for gauging the health of the stock market is the aptly named Buffett indicator, which compares the total value of U.S. stocks to gross domestic product (GDP). Its currently elevated reading raises questions about whether stocks are outrunning underlying economic growth and what that could signal for future returns.
The Buffett indicator is a ratio between the aggregate market capitalization of all publicly traded U.S. companies -- typically captured by a broad index such as the Wilshire 5000 -- and nominal U.S. GDP. This metric offers a snapshot of how large the stock market has become relative to the size of the economy that ultimately supports corporate profits.

Markets face the week's most consequential moment Wednesday at 2:00pm when the Federal Reserve announces its rate decision and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh holds his first post-decision press conference, setting policy direction.
This comes amid extraordinary uncertainty about technology sector valuations, artificial intelligence infrastructure spending, and economic growth trajectory.
The decision arrives after a week dominated by disappointing technology earnings that intensified AI bubble concerns and validated investor skepticism about whether massive data center investments will translate into proportional revenue and earnings growth.

Barclays believes the next phase for equity markets will be determined by upcoming Big Tech earnings and a series of central bank meetings, as investors balance resilient corporate performance against mounting macroeconomic risks.
The bank said strong earnings have helped equities withstand higher bond yields, rising oil prices and renewed concerns over artificial intelligence spending, but warned that the investment backdrop is becoming more challenging.
According to Barclays, early second-quarter earnings have exceeded expectations on both sides of the Atlantic, reinforcing confidence in corporate fundamentals.
Despite higher interest rates and elevated energy prices, markets have remained resilient so far this reporting season. However, strategists led by Emmanuel Cau said oil prices and bond yields have now reached levels where downside risks are becoming more ****** ounced.

Interested in Capital One Financial Corporation? Here are five stocks we like better.
Northrop Grumman beat Q2 earnings estimates and raised its 2026 guidance, citing a record $104.7 billion backlog amid ongoing defense demand tied to the war in Iran.
D.R. Horton topped earnings expectations but cut its full-year delivery outlook as rising cancellations and price cuts signal a cooling housing market.
Capital One and Charles Schwab both posted double beats in Q2, signaling improving momentum for the financial sector after a weak start to the year.
As the second week of earnings season draws to a close, companies across several sectors are providing clues about what investors can expect for the remainder of the year. Of course, quarterly earnings and revenues are rear-facing metrics. But when combined with recent financial performances and full-year guidance, notable trends begin to emerge.

The "Who Dey!" chant at Bengals games is one of the best parts of being a Bengals fan and a Cincinnati sports fan. When the Ruler of the Jungle leads The Jungle in the Who Dey chant before kickoff, that gets you going as a fan. After a big touchdown, that's when the "Who Dey!" chant is at its best.
So, where does the chant rank among NFL stadium chants? Sports Illustrated's Karl Rasmussen ranked the 10 best in the NFL, with the "Who Dey!" chant checking in at No. 6. If you've ever wondered how the "Who Dey!" chant came to be, here's how, according to Rasmussen:
The Bengals' chant originated in 1981, stemming from a popular local car commercial and a beloved beer, Hudepohl. Beer vendors at the team's former stomping grounds, Riverfront Stadium, used to offer the local beer by shouting "Hudy!" to fans. That eventually transitioned to "Who Dey," and it evolved further after fans incorporated the song played in commercials by Red Frazier's Ford of Cincinnati, which goes, "Who's going to give you a better deal than Red Frazier … ******* ody!" The combination of both resulted in the Bengals chant. "Who dey? Who dey? Who dey say is gonna beat the Bengals? … ******* ody!"
Rasmussen also ******* yzes the comparison between the "Who Dey!" chant in Cincinnati and the "Who Dat!" chant in New Orleans that Saints fans do in the Superdome. In fact, he ranked the "Who Dat!" chant No. 5, one spot above the Bengals. Of course, there's an ongoing debate between the two teams of which chant came first.
One of my favorite memories as a Bengals fan was being at the Bengals-Saints game in New Orleans four years ago. There were so many Bengals fans who made the trip for the game. Before kickoff, Saints fans started doing the "Who Dat!" chant. In response, Bengals fans started doing the "Who Dey!" chant. It was dueling chants, making for an awesome pregame environment.
