MicroStrategy executive Michael Saylor warns that the greatest risk to Bitcoin is ambitious opportunists advocating protocol changes.
The remark comes just as Coinbase and the Ethereum network make moves to address one of Bitcoin’s most existential long-term threats: quantum computing.
The MicroStrategy co-founder framed protocol ossification as Bitcoin’s primary defense. According to Michael Saylor, internal attempts to “improve” the network pose a greater danger than external technological threats.
This remark highlights Bitcoin’s role as neutral digital money amid debates like the BIP-11

Though former New England Patriots tight end Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski may delight fans with his silly antics, he’s anything but when it comes to managing his money.
The former player recently revealed that he never spent a cent of his NFL salary, using income from off-the-field activities to pay his bills. But the “Gronk” isn’t the only NFL athlete to invest his money wisely and buck the trend of well-paid athletes who later fall on financial hard times despite their astronomical paychecks.

While President Donald Trump has said that Americans should see $2,000 checks for the government in mid 2026, it might depend on Congress.
On Dec. 21, White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said that tariff dividend checks will need congressional approval.
“Congress is going to have to send those money to those peoples," Hassett said on CBS News' "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan.” "This would have to be money that would be an appropriation."
However, he voiced optimism over the plan.
"But the thing we can say is that since July, we've had a lot of positive news about the economy,

The U.S. may have a secret weapon against rising electricity prices

Imagine a restaurant open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that always maintains a full staff. With the exception of weekend nights and the lunch rush, the restaurant will be empty a lot of the time. But the restaurant’s owner is paying to keep it open all the time - spending money on staffing and rent even when the number of customers is low.
That’s the reality of the U.S. electricity grid. It is built to handle “peak demand” - moments of high electricity usage that often happen in the height of summer or in the frigid cold

BitMEX co-founder and Maelstrom CIO Arthur Hayes thinks 2026-2027 will see the "meat of money printing" which will be beneficial to Bitcoin (BTC).
During a recent interview with CoinDesk, Hayes talked in detail about the upcoming U.S. midterm election in November 2026 and its impact on Bitcoin's price.
Hayes argued the midterm election will see the Republicans printing money and handing out "goodies" to gain votes as their odds of winning the House are around 50% on Polymarket.

At a former GE Lighting facility in Ravenna, Ohio, a warehouse now houses a growing bitcoin mine. Operated by Rubber City Data, the facility runs more than 500 specialized servers that process bitcoin transactions around the clock, according to Crain's Cleveland Business.
Rubber City Data owner Marc Behar is a former U.S. Air Force linguist who entered the world of bitcoin as a true believer in the technology. In 2018, he converted nearly all of his savings into cryptocurrency and later funded the Ravenna operation with his own money alongside investments from friends and family.

Prominent American investor Ray Dalio is sharpening his long-held skepticism on Bitcoin’s role in the global system, arguing that despite its scarcity and appeal as money, it remains ill-suited to sit on central bank balance sheets.
In a recent interview with entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath, Dalio framed Bitcoin as money in spirit, then drew a clear line on who he expects to treat it as reserve grade.
“Bitcoin is limited in supply and its perception of money. It is a form of money,” he said, while describing a set of hurdles that he believes keep central banks at arm’s length.

Arthur Hayes just laid out his Bitcoin roadmap for the next three months — and it ends at $200,000.
The angel investor and Maelstrom fund CIO published a new essay on Friday, arguing that the Federal Reserve is printing money through a new programme, dubbed Reserve Management Purchases.
And once investors realise its effects resemble those of quantitative easing, Bitcoin will explode higher.
“As the market equates RMP to QE, Bitcoin will quickly retake $124,000 and punch quickly towards $200,000,” Hayes wrote.
His timeline is auspicious — Bitcoin should rally hard in the first three months

“In this business, nothing’s harder than spotting bottoms… What matters the most here is not Bitcoin itself, but a company called Strategy run by Michael Saylor, a Bitcoin evangelist who’s adopted what I consider to be a Malcolm X style by any means necessary approach to keep Bitcoin higher. He has a huge amount of money on the line because Strategy has transformed itself basically into a Bitcoin accumulation machine fueled by borrowed money.

Everyone is talking about a K-shaped economy, in which lower- and middle-income households are increasingly being squeezed by a weakening job market and rebounding inflation.
The backdrop has taken a toll on consumer wallets, shifting spending from discretionary to essential purchases. It's also led to consumers rethinking where they spend their hard-earned money, with an increasing number seeking out retailers with a history of low prices, including discount chains and dollar stores.

That argument is in stark contrast to what most financial advisers and retirement experts have been urging people to do for years, which is to delay tapping your benefit until age 70 if you can afford to, thereby reaping a la
