Jaxon Shafer finished 4-for-7 passing for 75 yards and one touchdown to lead Algonac (1-0). He also added 42 yards and one score on the ground. Bolton Reams rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on five carries.
The Muskrats welcome Hazel Park at 7 p.m. on Sept. 3.
Almont (1-0) heads to Armada at 7 p.m. on Sept. 3.
Marysville (0-1) visits Port Huron at 7 p.m. on Sept. 3.
