The Washington Commanders have endured a lot of changes this offseason. Beyond roster changes, the Commanders also brought in new offensive and defensive coordinators, David Blough and Daronte Jones.

He has installed a new offensive scheme that changes how the offense will operate and will see Jayden Daniels spend more time in the pocket than using his legs.

Liverpool's next £100m transfer has just become very obvious.
The price of a decent footballer has quite literally gotten out of hand recently. It seems these days if you are quite good at football, you will probably cost around £100m.
A few years ago that price tag used to be reserved for the very best players on the planet. It would have been unfathomable to see Liverpool breaking the £100m record not just once, but twice in one window.
Well, last summer they did. Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. Whether they are worth that money, hasn't really been decided.
Even after an entire year at the club, neither has quite justified the lofty price tags on the shoulders, nor the have they truly delivered performances that have met our expectations.

When the Manchester City starting lineup was announced prior to City's 2-1 win over Bournemouth yesterday, it did appear that Nico O'Reilly, Rico Lewis, and Elliot Anderson would form City's midfield. However, that was not the case. Rico Lewis lined up at right-back, with Ruben Dias, Abdukodir Khusanov and Josko Gvardiol starting in defence. Elliot Anderson, Nico O'Reilly, and Marc Guehi formed Manchester City's midfield. A criticism of Manchester City's play in the four preseason matches they played before yesterday's match was how open their midfield was. By starting Guehi and Anderson together, Enzo Maresca addressed this issue. Guehi put in a strong display in midfield, which fully justified Maresca's decision to play Guehi in City's engine room.
Manchester City have one of the elite centre-backs in the Premier League in Marc Guehi. Guehi has quickly established himself as an important player for his team since signing for the club from Crystal Palace during the January transfer window. But what President Trump did last weekend by staging his Freedom 250 IndyCar Grand Prix race in Washington DC was, well, let's just call it excessive, disruptive, inappropriate and tone-deaf.
Over the weekend, the distinct, ear-splitting whine of 2.2-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engines echoed off the marble facades of federal buildings as IndyCar made its highly controversial debut on the streets of the nation's capital.
The event, billed as the "Washington Grand Prix," saw open-wheel Indy race cars speeding at over 150 mph down Pennsylvania Avenue, transforming the historic corridor between the U.S. Capitol and the White House into a 1.7-mile long temporary, high-octane racetrack. The narrow, angular cars blasted past the US Capitol, made sharp turns around the National Archives, and pass the Smithsonian Air and ****** e Museum for a total of 147 laps, a number which equals a race distance of 250-miles. Yes, you guessed it. That 250 number had to relate to the nation's 250th anniversary celebration.

A Rotherham school has welcomed a local world champion boxer to launch its boxing scholarship programme.
Maltby Academy Trust said it was "incredibly proud" of the programme, which offers "elite-level coaching with high-quality education" for 16 to 19 year-olds.
Sheffield's Dalton Smith, the current World Boxing Council (WBC) super-lightweight **** le holder, joined other fighters from the region for a workout at the launch event, and shared stories from his career.
Smith hailed the programme, saying: "You've got the exercise, a healthy routine and a positive way of dealing with things, especially with mental health being such a big part of society now."
Organisers said the scholarship aimed to keep young people in education while learning boxing skills - with the potential to develop careers in coaching.

Richard Petty has collected just about every honor the racing world has to offer. His next one will extend well beyond NASCAR.
North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein announced that Petty will receive the North Carolina Award, the state's highest civilian honor, during a ceremony at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh on Nov. 17.
Petty is one of six North Carolinians selected for the honor in 2026, but his inclusion comes with another distinction: The seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will become the first motorsports figure ever to receive the North Carolina Award.
For a man whose career and life have become almost inseparable from the state's racing identity, it is a fitting piece of history.

USC football enters a pivotal and defining season in the Lincoln Riley era. The 2026 campaign can be reduced to a simple question: "If not now, when?" When will Riley get over the hump, if he ever does? This might be his last chance. The man who likely holds the biggest key to Riley's fate is Gary Patterson, but a very close second - arguably just as important as Patterson if you want to argue the case - is strength coach Trumain Carroll.
We can all appreciate the importance of Trumain Carroll on a general level. Bennie Wylie wasn't good enough as strength coach. USC needed an upgrade at that position on staff. Carroll was Lincoln Riley's answer. Carroll was hired late in the 2025 offseason cycle, so last season could never have been used as a real gauge of how good he really is. The 2026 season will give us a much better answer - maybe not a complete one, but surely a fuller one.
The more specific and urgent way to express how significant this season is for Trumain Carroll is as follows: He gets a chance to implement a strength program so good, so airtight, so successful that it can overturn Lincoln Riley's deserved reputation for coaching and cultivating soft teams which get beaten up by elite opponents. Riley's early success at Oklahoma came from the work of a previous strength coach who served under Bob Stoops, the head coach who hired Riley as offensive coordinator before stepping down and handing Riley the keys to the Sooner program. Riley eventually hired Bennie Wylie to replace that other strength coach. Oklahoma steadily got weaker as Riley's OU tenure continued. Wylie them came to USC and didn't deliver the goods.
Trumain Carroll has a chance to wipe away the Bennie Wylie years and give Riley - and USC - a tough identity it hasn't had for quite some time. That's where Trumain Carroll can make a lasting difference for the Trojans.

Wide receiver Terry McLaurin, also known as "Scary Terry," could be a scary addition to your fantasy lineup this season. He has put up elite numbers over the course of his career, especially in 2024 when he had over 1,000 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. While McLaurin missed seven games last season, ESPN fantasy ****** yst Eric Moody believes he is a great fantasy option this season. Here is what Moody had to say about McLaurin:
"McLaurin is one of my favorite values at wide receiver. In 2024, he scored 13 touchdowns, finished as the WR7 and topped 1,000 yards for the fifth straight season. Last season was basically lost, with McLaurin missing seven games and QB Jayden Daniels missing 10. New OC David Blough has talked about getting McLaurin 10 targets per game, a significant jump from the 7.3 he has averaged over his career, while also moving him around the formation. New signing Stefon Diggs adds competition, but I'm getting a receiver who has already shown WR1 upside at a back-end WR2 price. That's a discount I'm willing to bet on."
Diggs may provide some competition, but he could actually help McLaurin's fantasy stock in a way. Without Diggs, McLaurin was the clear No. 1 receiver on Washington's roster, making him more likely to get double-teamed and have fewer fantasy points. Following Saturday night's mock game, there's no doubt about freshman outside linebacker Ramzak Fruean's role with the Washington Huskies.
"Ramzak's going to start for us," coach Jedd Fisch said after the scrimmage. "There's no question about that."
Throughout both spring and fall camp, the former four-star recruit out of in-state Bethel High School has flashed elite athleticism that has had Fisch's entire coaching staff buzzing about his potential. Over the last few weeks, that has turned into first-team reps along the defensive line, which has resulted in the havoc plays that defensive coordinator Ryan Walters wants to see from his pass rush, including a sack in Saturday's scrimmage.
"It's been exponential," outside linebackers coach Aaron Van Horn said of Fruean's growth. "Obviously, it's something you hope for from young guys especially; there's so much to learn as far as maturity-wise off the field and on the field."
"He takes things seriously, so he's taken a huge jump as far as the football school piece of it...the technique, the fundamentals. Welcome to Day 13 of our 30 Day Countdown! Kickoff is just 2 short weeks away, and today, we are looking at who the best future pro will be on UW's roster! Let's get into it!
This one is pretty much a lock if his current trajectory keeps up. As a Freshman All American, Mills already has plenty of tape for pro scouts to pore over, and he looks to be the anchor of the next great offensive line core for the Huskies. We Husky fans know what we have, and it seems that the national media has taken notice, with Pro Football Focus ranking Mills on their Top 10 Sophomores list. Mills garnered high praise from PFF, with the article noting that "Mills generated the highest grade of any freshman lineman to play more than 300 snaps last season." With a season under his belt, and at least one more guaranteed, Mills has the opportunity to win some postseason hardware, and maybe secure an All American spot, if he is to build on his stellar debut! The key thing for him, and really any offensive lineman is staying healthy! I could see him as maybe a first or second round pick, enjoying a long career in the NFL!
This one is also a pretty good contender if current trajectories keep up. With the amount of pre-season watch lists that Williams is on, it should be no surprise that he is on this list. One mock draft even has Williams getting picked in the third round by…Seattle. The one thing that gives me pause is his size: at 5'11", he is not the prototypical NFL quarterback, but his dual threat ability should mitigate that slightly, much like it did for Kyler Murray when he was picked first overall in 2019. Not saying that Williams will match Murray's feat of getting selected first overall (though it would be great if he did, because that would probably mean a lot of wins for the Dawgs), but it's just a point of comparison. He has the physical gifts, he just needs to iron out his decision making and show that he can not only win, but produce against elite defenses, like the Ohio States and Michigans of the world! If he catches on, with the right team and scheme, Williams could be a solid pro quarterback!
This is another one that is kind of self explanatory. After a stellar Freshman season, Roebuck looks to build on his newfound role, with him shouldering more of the load in the passing game, and hopefully putting up more numbers in the process! His ceiling is also high, as he is only a sophomore and will have ample opportunity to catch passes from a variety of spots on the field, and versatility is something that NFL teams will be searching for in drafting their future receivers.
Right now, certain projections, like this one from Scout SZN, have his ceiling at Day 2, but where you get drafted doesn't matter. I do think that Roebuck could be a contributor on a pro team someday, but whether or not he's the best depends on his development while he is a Husky, and with his contributions from year one, I'd say that his future is bright!

Comcast has attached a new service to its Xfinity internet plans as it faces mounting customer losses.
The company revealed in its most recent earnings report that it lost 167,000 U.S. broadband customers in the second quarter of this year. Also, its revenue in this segment dropped by 5.5% year over year.
The exodus of customers follows last year's Xfinity price increases. It also comes as Comcast faces heightened broadband competition from T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon, which have been attracting customers through fiber and fixed wireless internet services. ******* eX's Starlink satellite internet service is also becoming a threat, with over 9 million customers.
"Fiber continues to expand, fixed wireless remains aggressive, satellite is emerging as another alternative and convergence-based promotional activity remains elevated across the industry," said Comcast Chief Financial Officer Jason Armstrong on an earnings call in July. "We are operating under the ******* umption that the market will remain intensely competitive."
To help attract and retain internet customers, Comcast has launched its new Xfinity Shield platform, which offers two new tiers of advanced cybersecurity and home self-monitoring protection that can be added to internet plans, according to a recent press release.

UCLA Bruins' quarterback Nico Iamaleava possesses an elite combination of size and speed. Even if Iamaleava isn't the most built-out 6'5", his height allows him to see over defenders and his own offensive line.
That skillset is valuable in the college game but becomes even more important at the next level. The 2026 season will determine what the future holds for Iamaleava. With a strong season under Bob Chesney, Iamaleava could wind up hearing his name early in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Since their opening practices of OTAs last season, Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams have been in sync, using their veteran and positional perspectives to dial up the NFL's highest-scoring connection in 2025.
While Stafford and Adams were elite in 2025, their start in the regular season was a bit rocky because they had to adjust to each other after having limited reps. At the same time, they were attempting to figure out the opponent. It didn't help that Stafford missed training camp with a back issue, leading to Adams working with Jimmy Garoppolo during camp and joint practices.
This year, both players have been full participants, with head coach Sean McVay expressing his thoughts on the duo.
"We were literally just [talking about] that," McVay said of their strong connection. "It's awesome because obviously you could see about midway through the season they got really comfortable, but you don't take for granted how important that rapport is. No matter how great you are, you've got two great players. You've got to be able to get those reps, and repetition is the mother of learning.
"They've got a great feel. I think today was a really good day for those guys being able to connect against tight, sticky coverage. It's been awesome, but they're two outstanding people, outstanding players, and it's really fun to watch them take some ownership and even just be a fly on the wall and listen to their dialogue and what they're thinking. I love what I've seen from those guys."

Fresh off winning Super Bowl MVP honors last season, Kenneth Walker III is embarking on the next stage of his career after signing a three-year, $45 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. And from what we've learned during the preseason so far, it seems he hasn't missed a step in making the transition to his new team.
Of course, we didn't see Walker in action during the Chiefs' preseason opener, as he was kept on the sidelines. But the intel coming out of preseason activities for the franchise indicates that he is looking every bit the elite running back the Chiefs hoped he would be when signing him.
According to Jesse Newell, who covers the Chiefs for The Athletic, Walker has been making quite the impact during training camp. His reporting indicates that Walker is getting the ball "all the time," is being used as the main running back in red-zone situations, and is the "primary target" in the franchise's screen game.
Walker had what was arguably the best season of his career last year since his debut in the league in 2022, rushing for 1,027 yards and five touchdowns, tying his career-high of 4.6 yards per carry while starting all 17 regular-season games for the Seahawks. He also tallied 282 receiving yards while averaging 9.1 yards per reception.
Walker also had a breakout performance in Super Bowl LX, tallying a season-high 135 rushing yards while adding 26 receiving yards, helping the Seahawks capture the top prize in the NFL. It was the most rushing yards in a Super Bowl since Super Bowl ******* II, which was also the last time a running back was named Super Bowl MVP before Walker earned the award.
