We asked you whether Tottenham selling Djed Spence to Inter Milan in a deal worth a minimum £25.6m (30m euros) is a wise decision.
Here are some of your comments:
Alistair: No. Seems mad, he's been developed into an elite attacking full-back to pair with Pedro Porro and now he's going. Destiny Udogie is too injury ***** e. What an odd choice, especially if he wants to stay.
Anthony: I definitely don't think it is wise that my team sell Djed Spence. I have always liked him, he's a good defender and he will only get better and better - keep, keep, keep.

Duke football opens its season in just 25 days, and its Week 1 opponent was just dealt a big blow on the injury front. Tulane starting running back Jamauri McClure sustained an apparent foot injury at practice on Tuesday and left the facility on a scooter, according to The Times-Picayune Tulane beat writer Guerry Smith.
First-year Green Wave head coach Will Hall said that McClure would be back "early in the season" but "not necessarily in the opener against Duke," according to Smith.
The injury is a massive blow to Tulane, which defeated the Blue Devils in New Orleans last season without any contributions from McClure. The sophomore back garnered American All-Conference hype as a member of Pro Football Network's Second Team.
He ended the 2025 season with 540 yards on the ground on just 83 carries, good enough for 6.5 yards per carry, leading to plenty of offseason hype after he chose to stay with the Green Wave after then-head coach Jon Sumrall departed for Florida.
After a slow start to 2025, McClure came alive down the stretch for the Green Wave, including a 121-yard rushing performance in the American Championship Game in a narrow 34-21 win over North Texas. In fact, it was McClure's second-quarter touchdown run that gave Tulane its first lead of the game.

A very positive development for the Jacksonville Jaguars' offense has been taking place in recent training camp practices.
The running back position continues to pop.
And John Shipley of Jaguars on SI noted after Sunday's practice that this is becoming the norm for this unit.
"If it feels like we are saying the Jaguars' running backs are standing out quite a bit lately, it is because the position group simply keeps making plays," Shipley wrote. "Sunday was no different, with multiple players in the room standing out over the course of practice."
Leading the way has been the combination of Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez. Tuten brings speed and elusiveness to the backfield, while Rodriguez adds a physical presence.

The debate is set to continue as to exactly how many goals Alexander Isak scored in Liverpool's 3-2 defeat to Monaco on Sunday afternoon.
The Swedish striker opened the scoring at Anfield on the quarter-hour mark with a clinical low finish past Lukas Hradecky, although the identity of the goalscorer for the Reds' second strike of the day was much harder to ascertain.
A rather untidy goalmouth scramble in the 29th minute resulted in the ball being prodded to the visitors' net from close range, with both the £125m man and Florian Wirtz going for it as they sought to poke it over the goalline.
Some reporters ultimately credited the second goal to Isak, although the match report on the official Liverpool website gave it to the Germany international.
When asked to clear up who exactly got the final touch, the Reds' number 9 was unable to give a definite answer, telling liverpoolfc.com: "I think we agreed, me and Flo, that we both got a touch on the ball, but obviously I don't know who got the first one or the last one. It felt like I was on the ball. I don't really know."

As he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Drew Brees was remembered mostly for his time on the Saints. But in his induction speech, Brees spoke fondly about his time with the Chargers, and particularly about one of his Hall of Fame teammates.
LaDainian Tomlinson and Brees first met in high school, spent time together as Heisman Trophy finalists in college and were the Chargers' first- and second-round picks in the 2001 NFL draft. Brees made special mention of how much Tomlinson meant to him.
"What made it even sweeter is I was joining the guy they drafted in the first round, Hall of Famer and one of the greatest running backs in history, LaDainian Tomlinson," Brees said of getting drafted. "Not many people know this: LT and I grew up two hours from each other and played on the South Texas All-Star team together in 1997. We found our way back together four years later as Heisman Trophy finalists. At the Heisman presentation we both made the statement: 'Wouldn't it be something if we ended up on the same team?' LT, I always felt a strong kinship with you. We had so much in common. Drafted the same year, married the same year, won the Walter Payton Man of the Year the same year. We grew up together quickly in this league. I credit so many things in my career to the five years I spent with the Chargers."
After Brees' fifth season, the Chargers decided to let him leave for New Orleans in free agency. The loud contingent of Saints fans in Canton, Ohio, this weekend are glad it worked out that way, and so is Brees. But Brees is also grateful for his time in San Diego, and for having Tomlinson as a teammate.

With a firm focus on improving a running game in need of revamping, Alabama football will need more than just better play from its offensive line and running backs in 2026.
Tight ends will pay a role, as well.
Enter Josh Ford, the former Oklahoma State tight end who is part of the Crimson Tide's incoming transfer class. Ford has the size and mentality to be an effective blocker up front, and with UA sophomore Kaleb Edwards returning with experience, Ford's receiving skills won't be as much in demand as his ability to open a hole at the point of attack.

Crystal Palace are reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation of OGC Nice's Antoine Mendy (22), according to Foot Mercato.
The Eagles, for whom Ligue 1 has become a favourite transfer market, are said to have been impressed by the profile of the Senegalese defender, who has seven international caps. However, if the London club wishes to secure his services, it will have to contend with competition from Italy, as Fiorentina and Udinese are reportedly already in the running for Mendy.
This is a windfall for the Nice board, which is under pressure to replenish its coffers this summer and could capitalise on a bidding war between several suitors to secure tens of millions from the deal. To achieve this, the club is said to be valuing the player at a minimum of €15m.
A product of the Nice youth academy, Mendy has now established himself as a key member of the first-team squad. Having made 40 appearances across all competitions last season, he started 24 of the 25 Ligue 1 matches he featured in.

Irvine (Calif.) Crean Lutheran defensive back Jacob Whitehead has committed to Arizona and broke down why he chose the Wildcats.
"I'm very excited about my decision," Whitehead said. "There were a lot of reasons why I chose Arizona but the biggest was my connection with the coaching staff.
"I have great relationships with the coaches there and really feel accepted by everyone. I love how excited they are to add me to such a great program and I love the all around fit."
Whitehead is a player we first saw as a middle schooler at the Under the Radar Camp four years ago. He burst on to the scene at Inglewood his first two years of high school before transferring in to St. John Bosco last fall.
He battled some injuries with the Braves and missed much of his junior season but played in the Navy All-American Bowl in January and then made the move in to Crean Lutheran this off-season.

Rotoworld's Top 200 Rankings—an average of ranks from Denny Carter, Patrick Daugherty, and myself—are live. They're updated with every news item and training camp update we get. Using them as a baseline, I've created tiers for every position. We view players within a tier roughly equally. Knowing when to strike at a position is just as important as knowing who to draft. These tiers should help you structure your draft in a way that maximizes value.
GET YOUR FREE ROTOWORLD FANTASY FOOTBALL DRAFT KIT HERE!
No surprises here as the TE1 overall in 2025 and 2024 appear in the first tier. The ceiling with these two players is limitless in a way other tight ends can only dream of. McBride posted the third-most points for a tight end in NFL history last year, largely by setting the receptions record at 126. That goes down as 10 more than any other tight end in league history. Bowers holds the record for fantasy points by a rookie tight end. Even in a down 2025 season, his 43.3 PPR points in Week 9—on the back of a 12-127-3 receiving line—are the fourth-most for a tight end since the turn of the century. In both season-long and single-week measures, these two tight ends stand above the rest.
I strongly considered moving Loveland into Tier 1 and Warren into Tier 3. Loveland's final four games (including the postseason) were off the charts. He was targeted 48 times in total and topped 90 yards in three contests. Ben Johnson funneled him a 31 percent target share and a 35 percent air yards share. The Bears asked Loveland to be the centerpiece of their passing attack late in his rookie season and he only got better with more on his plate.
Warren, on the other hand, fizzled out down the stretch, finishing as a weekly TE1 for the final time in Week 12. With Daniel Jones under center, Warren was on pace for a monstrous season. Warren averaged 12.9 PPR points per game in 12 contests with Jones healthy. He was posting 1.9 yards per route run and .21 targets per route. Loveland finished the year at 1.9 and .23. We're likely looking at two very similar seasons if Jones stays healthy. Maybe he doesn't in 2026, but that's not a good reason for Warren to go two rounds after Loveland in fantasy drafts.

Tarik Skubal knew what the phone call meant before anyone needed to explain it.
The Detroit Tigers ace had stepped away from the dugout during Saturday night's game against the Athletics, something he had also done the previous evening to escape the heat and keep moving. This time, he never returned for the final innings.
"I got a phone call," Skubal said via the Detroit News. "And I knew what that was about."
Just like that, his seven-season run with the Tigers was over.
Detroit traded the reigning two-time American League Cy Young Award winner to the Los Angeles Dodgers for right-hander River Ryan, outfielder Zyhir Hope and pitching prospect Brady Smith.

Just like the temperatures in West Sacramento, California – where the Detroit Tigers were spending the final weekend before the MLB trade deadline hits at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3 – the heat was on for the American League Central.
The Tigers entered Saturday six games under .500, six games back in the Central and 3½ back in the race for the AL's final wild-card spot. That made it ever more likely they'd be sellers at Monday's deadline, at least with the majors' top trade chip: two-time AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal. The left-hander is set to be a free agent at season's end and appears likely to get MLB's first $400 million contract for a full-time pitcher.
ROTATION WATCH: Jackson Jobe injury update: Tigers righty rehab start moved to High-A

Just as the Tigers sat starter Casey Mize on Friday to avoid an injury that could scuttle trade talks, the Los Angeles Dodgers scratched star outfield prospects Zyhir Hope and Kendall George on Saturday from their stint with Double-A Tulsa.

Scott McCarron got to ring the bell on Friday.
McCarron, 61, an 11-time PGA Tour Champions winner, rang the bell at Duke Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, to signify that he is cancer free. Diagnosed March 23 with Diffused Large B cell Lymphoma, he had been undergoing daily radiation for the previous 10 days, making 5-hour roundtrips to his home.
"Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that took great care of me," he wrote in a social media post. "Thank you to all my friends, family and everyone that sent prayers my way. I'm forever grateful. Now back to golf!"
McCarron was diagnosed with Stage Two B-Cell lymphoma after coming down with a sore throat. Fortunately, he took it seriously because a doctor's visit led to a trip to an ear, nose and throat doctor, who suggested a biopsy.
"Most of us are pretty stubborn and don't do anything for a while," he told Golfweek. "As soon as the thing showed up, I said, 'I don't like the looks of it.'"

Mets make sudden Freddy Peralta decision as trade interest intensifies originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New York Mets may have offered the clearest indication yet that a Freddy Peralta trade is coming. New York scratched Peralta from his scheduled start against the Miami Marlins on Friday night as trade interest in the veteran right-hander intensified, according to the New York Post's Joel Sherman.
Peralta had been lined up to open the Mets' weekend series at loanDepot park. Instead, New York decided not to risk using one of the most sought-after starting pitchers available ahead of Monday's MLB trade deadline. There is no indication that a trade has been completed, but the decision to scratch Peralta suggests talks may be advancing quickly. The Mets now have until Monday at 6 p.m. ET to find an acceptable deal.
Peralta has attracted interest from several contenders despite struggling during his first season in New York. The Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers have all been connected to Peralta. The San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks have also reportedly scouted him recently.
According to The Athletic's Will Sammon and Ken Rosenthal, the Mets have sought a package featuring a top-100 prospect and additional talent in preliminary Peralta discussions. That is a significant asking price for a pitcher who is set to enter free agency following the season. However, the Mets can point to Peralta's track record, swing-and-miss ability and postseason experience while negotiating with teams desperate for rotation help.

This spring, the NCAA passed a rule that allows men's and women's college basketball programs to participate in an international summer trip every year, rather than just one every four years.
These trips are important because they allow teams to have extra practice time, face true competition, and build team chemistry. For fans, the trips offer a unique experience: traveling with the team or watching them on TV, building excitement for the upcoming season.
In his first press conference of the summer, Mark Pope talked about his hope for an additional rule change to summer trips, allowing them to be done in the states.
"There is one of the things that we're excited about, potentially coming down the pipeline that we've been pushing for, is now we're allowed to take international trips every single year. We'd like to actually make that something that could be done domestically," Pope said.
Pope argues that this is a way to bring more attention to college basketball in the summer.

Iowa State's cross country teams, under the direction of director of cross country Jeremy Sudbury and women's head coach Laura Harmon, have their fall planned out, with two home meets and the 2026 Midwest Regional being highlights for the Cyclone harriers.
"Home Sweet Home!" Sudbury said in a release. "There is nothing like competing on our own home turf and getting a chance to showcase our beautiful cross country course to the nation and for the community to see how great our teams are. Both squads will benefit immensely from getting to stay home three times this fall to minimize wear and tear and to really be ready for the postseason."
The men's team finished second at both the Big 12 Championships and Midwest Regional in 2025 and third at the NCAAs.
The women, under first year head coach Laura Harmon who is in her first year in Ames after four seasons at Washington State, also finished second at the Big 12 Championships and third at the Midwest regional.
"I'm excited about the opportunities this schedule provides in my first season leading the Iowa State women's cross country program," Harmon added in a release. "It strikes a great balance for our team, giving us opportunities early in the season to gain valuable racing experience and build confidence before competing against some of the nation's top NCAA Division I programs. Those high-level competitions will not only help prepare us for championship racing but also provide an exciting opportunity to showcase a women's team that is capable of competing on the national stage."

MUMBAI: Ryan ten Doeschate has stepped down as India's men's ***** istant coach, bringing an end to his two-year stint with the national team, while Subhadeep Ghosh will be India's new fielding coach after T Dilip's contract came to an end and was not renewed, TOI has learnt.

Ten Doeschate and Dilip's final ***** ignment was India's white-ball tour of England. Both will, thus, not travel with Team India for their two-Test tour of Sri Lanka in August, while it will be the first international ***** ignment for Subhadeep, who has been the fielding coach of India A teams in the past.

During India's England tour, Ten Doeschate informed the BCCI of his decision to leave, despite being offered an extension until 2027 by the board. Although the BCCI was keen to retain him, the former Netherlands all-rounder declined the offer, citing personal reasons. With a young family, Ten Doeschate opted to step away from the demands of international cricket and its relentless travel schedule.

Meanwhile, fielding coach T Dilip is parting ways with the national team following the completion of his tenure. He will not travel with the squad for the upcoming Test tour of Sri Lanka.

Ten Doeschate joined the Indian coaching setup in July 2024 after former India opener Gautam Gambhir succeeded Rahul Dravid as the head coach following India's T20 World Cup triumph. Having worked closely with Gambhir during their successful stint at Kolkata Knight Riders, the former Netherlands all-rounder was brought into the national setup by Gambhir alongside bowling coach Morne Morkel.

During Ten Doeschate's stint, India won the Champions Trophy and the Asia Cup in 2025 and successfully defended the 2026 T20 World Cup, although the Test side endured a difficult period, losing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia before suffering series defeats against New Zealand (3-0) and South Africa (2-0) at home.

Sky Sports reported Real Madrid are now turning their full attention towards signing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig after FC Bayern showed no interest in accepting any bid for Michael Olise.
According to Sky, FC Bayern closed all doors for negotiations for Florentino Pérez's dream target. As previously reported, Real Madrid's president doesn't want to break the club's good relationship with Bayern by approaching the deal differently.
Thus, after they realized FC Bayern are unwilling to enter discussions, Real Madrid bosses decided to go strong for a fellow Bundesliga winger. PSG were in pole position to sign the Ivorian youngster for weeks, but Real Madrid are now hopeful of completing the deal after their initial €100 million bid was rejected by RB Leipzig on Friday.
Diomande scored 13 goals in his debut Bundesliga campaign with RB Leipzig. Both Olise and Diomande are yet to join their respective team for pre-season preparations due to their participation at the World Cup.

Christos Tzolis signed a five-year contract at **** nal after completing his €40 million transfer from Club Brugge. The Greece international was a 2. Bundesliga top-scorer during his time at Fortuna Düsseldorf.
After an initial loan deal from Norwich City, Düsseldorf permanently signed the player for €3.5 million. However, their failure to win promotion to Bundesliga meant that they had to sell him for only €6.5 million to Club Brugge.
Tzolis scored 24 goals and **** isted a further 10 in only 37 games for Fortuna Düsseldorf. He continued his goal-scoring form with Club Brugge in the past two seasons, winning the “Player of the Season” accolade in the Jupiler Pro League last term.
According to Sky, Fortuna Düsseldorf will not receive any payment from the transfer. Die Fortunen will compete in 3. Liga for the first time since 2009 as they suffered a costly relegation from 2. Bundesliga only a couple of years after Tzolis nearly helped them to a Bundesliga return.
In addition to his league-high 22 goals, Tzolis scored a memorable panenka to send Düsseldorf to the 2023/24 semi-final of the DFB-Pokal in the penalty shootout win over St. Pauli. **** nal are also exploring the deal to sign RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande, although PSG lead the race as of right now.

Pirates rookie Bubba Chandler entered this game with a 4.77 ERA and the highest walk rate (13.1-percent) of any starter in baseball. Of course, that means the Yankees got blanked and drew just one walk in his 6.1 innings of work. Fortunately, Max Fried was even more dominant in his first start back from injury in over two months, the two starters trading zeroes long enough for the Yankees to strike against the Bucs’ bullpen. A Jasson Domínguez RBI double and Anthony Volpe RBI single in the seventh proved the decisive blows as the Yankees did just enough to win, 2-0, to split the doubleheader and win the series.
Fans of sharp defensive execution were in for a treat in the first inning. Fried looked to have given up a surefire double down the line in left to leadoff batter Nick Gonzales, but Cody Bellinger played the carom off the sidewall perfectly and fired an inch-perfect throw to Jazz Chisholm Jr. at second, who barely had to move his glove to apply the tag to Gonzales’ foot. The next batter Jared Triolo got down a decent bunt to the left, but the four-time Gold Glover Fried was quick off his mound to field it and fire a strike to first. Fried finished the inning with a swinging strikeout of Bryan Reynolds on an elevated 98.3 mph four-seamer, his fastest pitch of the season. That high water mark wouldn’t last long, as the next inning he punched out Marcell Ozuna looking on a 99 mph four-seamer.
Perhaps a side effect of Fried being on a pitch count of just 60 pitches — the amount planned for a second rehab start that got scrapped in lieu of him starting this game — Fried’s fastball was coming out hot the whole outing. It averaged over 96 mph this afternoon, which is almost two mph above his season average. It is particularly encouraging given that the bone bruise Fried suffered manifested itself as significantly reduced pitch velocity in the May 13th start against the Orioles that he was forced to depart after three innings. That’s a roundabout way of saying that Fried now appears fully healthy.
Fried’s day was finished after five scoreless innings allowing just one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts on 57 pitches, efficiently using nearly all of those 60 pitches he was allotted for this start. The four-seamer was as good as I’ve seen from him in pinstripes, and it wasn’t just the velocity. He was able to consistently paint the top ledge of the zone with the pitch, creating ample opportunity for chase and swing-and-miss against the secondaries which resulted in a 37-percent whiff rate on the day.
