In my experience, plenty of bullish research on lucrative multidecade opportunities tends to overestimate near-term growth. But the opposite is happening with Goldman Sachs and its robotaxi forecasts. Previously, the bank estimated that the robotaxi market would reach $7 billion by 2030. More recently, it has been forced to up that figure to $19 billion -- not an insignificant change.
Many Wall Street **** ysts are highly optimistic about Tesla's ability to capture a disproportionate amount of value from the robotaxi opportunity. Wedbush **** yst Dan Ives, for example, believes Tesla will ultimately control 80% of the market. Yet Tesla has repeatedly faced challenges scaling its robotaxi business. The reigning division champs have also drawn the league's most difficult schedule based on their opponents' collective winning percentage in 2025 (.550). Yet overall progression in Year 2 under HC Ben Johnson is just as likely, ******* uming Williams and Co. continue to master an offense which spotlights a daunting run game and should get more from a diverse and talented group of pass catchers – perhaps enough to finally make Williams' the 106-year-old franchise's first 4,000-yard passer after he fell 58 yards short of the mark in 2025. Playing three of the first four games at Soldier Field should help.
While regression is certainly possible, as Davis notes, there's also a good chance of improvement after a full year with players in Johnson's offense, young talent and with players returning from injury across the roster that the Bears will make an even stronger impression.

End-of-year bonuses for private equity professionals are likely to be higher at larger managers compared to midsized and small buyout shops, as banks' blowout earnings put pressure on PE firms to keep pace on pay, according to projections from compensation consultant Johnson ***** ociates.
Its Q2 year-end projections report, which predicts Wall Street end-of-year bonuses based on recent market trends, said that PE professionals at large buyout shops can expect bonuses anywhere from 2.5% to 7.5% higher than what they received in 2025. That's an improvement over the Q1 outlook of no change up to a 5% increase.
The jump is due, in part, to mounting competition for talent between PE firms and banks, said Alan Johnson, president and founder of Johnson ***** ociates. Private equity firms will likely offer stronger sweeteners to retain talent during a challenging period.
"Banks and private equity compete for talent, and as the banks do better, there's going to be a bit of a drag-on effect to private equity," Johnson said.
Investment banks are having a great year. Goldman Sachs and JPMorganChase both reported strong Q2 results, with Goldman's earnings per share nearly doubling year-over-year to $20.98 and JPMorgan's net income up 41% to $21.2 billion. (NYSE:CRM) is being open about a 12-to-24-month drag on its organic growth algorithm rather than covering it up.
Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM)'s historical valuation decline looks to be the most mispriced aspect of the market story. Shares are currently trading at a compressed forward earnings multiple of only 10.83x, a substantial drop from the stock's five-year historical average of over 127x. The disparity is even more obvious when compared to prominent peers such as ServiceNow, which trades at a forward P/E of around 20.43x and requires consistent revenue growth above 18% through 2028 to maintain its valuation premium. Salesforce's current valuation of less than 11x forecast earnings is in near-total deadlock, despite the company's strong free cash flow generation and substantial enterprise data integration.

The MLB Draft is this weekend in Philadelphia, and there are plenty of mock drafts circulating and predicting who each team is going to take with their first round pick. The Pittsburgh Pirates pick at five in the first round of the draft and there's a varied opinion on who people think the Buccos will select.
Jonathan Mayo of MLB.con predicts that the Pirates will address their longterm issues at catcher and select one of the best catchers that the college ranks have to offer in Vahn Lackey out of Georgia Tech.
"The Pirates have drafted the best high school position player (Konnor Griffin) and best high school pitcher (Seth Hernandez) in the last two Drafts," Mayo writes. "If they wanted to go down that road again they could look at Eric Booth Jr. on the hitter side, or Gio Rojas on the mound, but it would be tough to pass on the super-athletic Lackey, the Yellow Jackets' catcher with a 1.265 OPS, 15 homers and 14 steals."
The Pirates are certainly in need of a catcher, and having one as athletic as Lackey would be a great grab at fifth overall. Being that he'd be coming out of college it would be ******* umed that he'd be closer to being pro-ready as well, so if the Pirates go in that direction it may not be long before a player like Lackey would be seeing action in Pittsburgh.
Keith Law of The Athletic thinks that the Pirates could add another strong arm to their pitching staff by taking one of the best college pitching projects in this year's class. Jackson Flora out of UC Santa Barbara is Law's pick, after setting school records for most strikeouts in a season.
