During a rally featuring President Donald Trump in Georgia, Braves manager Brian Snitker and chief executive officer Mike Plant were called on stage to personally praise him. And the ceremonial appearance involved several memorable comments from Trump as well as head-turning statements from the Braves’ representatives.

That fact was immediately clear here in Philadelphia on Friday. Fans are quickly buying up jerseys and tickets.
"When are the jerseys coming, so when can we buy them as soon as possible?" said Christopher Robinson of Olney.
Robinson says he immediately left work in search of a LeBron James Sixers jersey.

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) — NASCAR driver Alex Bowman will retire from full-time racing following the 2027 season.
Bowman, who had been in the final year of his contract at powerhouse Hendrick Motorsports, signed a one-year extension before announcing his future plans on Thursday.
The 33-year-old Bowman missed four races earlier this season because of vertigo and also was sidelined in 2022 because of a concussion and the following year because of a back injury. He drives the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick and currently sits 29th in points, well below the 16-driver cutline for the postseason.
"I've spent a lot of time thinking about what's next, and this feels like the right decision at the right time," Bowman said. "The sport asks a lot of you, and I've learned it's important to listen to your body and make the right choices for yourself."
"My focus now is on making the most of my time on the racetrack and competing for wins. We still have a lot to accomplish, and I want to close my career on a high note for our team and our fans. To have the chance to do that with this organization and these people is really special."

Rather than fielding full-strength squads, the BCCI has consistently used these bilateral series to reward standout domestic and IPL performers with their maiden T20I caps.
The numbers underline that trend. A total of 22 Indian men's cricketers have made their T20I debuts against Zimbabwe, making the African nation one of India's most frequent proving grounds for future stars.
India's tradition of handing out debuts in Zimbabwe dates back to 2010. During the two-match T20I series, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin and Naman Ojha all made their debuts in the opening game as India secured a comfortable six-wicket win. The Knights (52-46) are off to a good start against the Tides (35-61), and they hold a 2-0 series lead. Charlotte picked up 12 hits and drew six walks during a strong performance.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the second, when four of the first five Knights reached base safely. Tim Elko singled, Andy Weber singled, and although Dru Baker popped out, Riley Unroe and Rikuu Nishida drew back-to-back walks. Nishida’s walk forced in the game’s first run, and the Knights led from that point forward. Charlotte was not done that inning, as Everson Pereira drove in a run with a productive ground out, and Austin Hays doubled to make the score 3-0.
In the third, Korey Lee singled before stealing second and advancing to third on a throwing error. From there, Weber drove Lee in with a double. Two innings later, Weber built on his big day with a solo homer to extend Charlotte’s lead to five. The Knights scored their sixth run on a Riley Unroe solo homer in the fifth, and Tim Elko added the exclamation point with a two-run homer in the eighth.
