The fact that Aaron Rodgers's scorched-earth attack on Dr. Anthony Fauci and ESPN, while appearing on ESPN, has prompted a comment from the team and a question to the head coach makes it, necessarily, a distraction.
Still, coach Mike McCarthy's goal will be to keep any of it from interfering with the task at hand.
"You know, these are grown men," McCarthy told reporters on Tuesday. "They all have different opinions. There's no question about that. But at the end of the day, my job is to keep it about football, keep the focus on winning. That's why we're here. We have a good locker room. We have a player council that's in place and we had our second meeting yesterday, and so I think we're in a good spot."
It remains to be seen whether Rodgers's rollicking Monday appearance with Pat McAfee was a one-time thing, or whether Rodgers will revert to his pre-2025 habit of showing up on the show every week — and saying whatever he wants.
It also remains to be seen whether, if/when the Steelers encounter adversity, McCarthy's methods will become a direct or indirect subject of Rodgers's current approach (as he said on Monday) of no longer giving a **** .

Anya Taylor-Joy would probably love to be a method actor. But alas, she's a woman.
The "Furiosa" star casually roasted the male actors who pursue that particular acting technique in a new interview with Complex News that quickly went viral for her very matter-of-fact take.

"If you'll notice, women don't method act because we have things to take care of, so we can't completely lose our minds," the 30-year-old said last week.
"I see acting as a controlled psychosis in a way," she explained. "You're pretending to be somebody else and having their thoughts 16 hours a day and moving like them, in their house, in their clothes. It's like having a sister or a roommate check in up [there] for a little bit."

Bernardo Silva has officially begun life as a Real Madrid player.
After completing his move from Manchester City earlier this summer, the Portuguese international took part in his first training session under José Mourinho on Monday before sitting down with Real Madrid TV to reflect on joining the Spanish giants, his excitement about working with Mourinho, and the opportunity to represent the club he considers the biggest in world football.
Silva admitted that wearing the Real Madrid crest is something special, describing his arrival as a dream come true.
"It's very special, and I'm very happy to be here. There's no need to talk about this club because its history speaks for itself. I'm very happy to start and try to help this team keep winning, which is what they know how to do: win, win, and win. I'm just one more person here to help and try to continue this winning streak for this spectacular club."
The 31-year-old reported for preseason after an extended break following Portugal's World Cup campaign and immediately experienced Mourinho's demanding training methods.

The first trade deadline under Paul DePodesta and Josh Byrnes has come and gone. Primed to be sellers, the Rockies managed to move a couple of players, but longtime fans of the club may be a bit disappointed about the overall activity, or lack thereof, for a team fighting to avoid 100 losses.
I've done my best to try and attribute grades to the three moves made. There isn't much of a formula as I looked over stat sheets and canvassed opinions from the internet as well as my fellow writers here at Purple Row. Everyone has a different method, and I hope to hear your thoughts in the comments, but time will tell how things pan out from today.
So, without further ado, let's break it all down.
Grade: B+
As the market heated up around the league, the Rockies finally joined in on the fun with their first trade of the day just before 11 am MDT. Colorado sent two-time Gold Glove center fielder Brenton Doyle to the Chicago White Sox for right-handed pitcher Mason Adams and 16-year-old shortstop Carlos Vielma.

According to Forbes, Rob Walton and family are worth $130.7 billion. To put that in perspective, let's borrow the method described by author Bill Bryson in his book I'm a Stranger Here Myself. He imagined a fictitious room where unending stacks of $1 bills were piled high and a person inside is given a marker. We'll pretend it's the Broncos mascot, Miles.
If [Miles] initialed one dollar per second, [he] would make $1,000 every seventeen minutes. After 12 days of nonstop effort [he] would acquire [his] first $1 million. Thus, it would take [him] 120 days to accumulate $10 million and 1,200 days— something over three years—to reach $100 million. After 31.7 years [Miles] would become a billionaire…
Tasked with a sharpie and the chore above, it would take Miles just 4,141 years, 231 days, 4 hours and 40 minutes to count dollar-by-dollar, the Rob Walton & family fortune. No bathroom breaks. No sleep. No hype sessions on top of the scoreboard.
…but they are going to claim they need your money via personal seat licenses to help offset the cost of building the new stadium.
Personal seat licenses are a one time or recurring fee for season ticket holders to get the right to buy their season tickets. Shockingly enough, the Broncos have managed to survive 66-years of season ticket sales without them, but now they're suddenly necessary? It's a cash-grab scam done by other teams to gouge their fans out of even more money; a scam that casually lives right next to $220 jerseys, $45 hats, and $19 beers.

With high school soccer season just a couple of weeks away, here is the Enquirer's final list of position previews in girls soccer. We have saved the top forwards and goalscorers for last.
And what a list it is.
Greater Cincinnati high school girls soccer fans had much to enjoy as well in 2025, as there is an abundance of players who put up big numbers last season or who will play for major colleges after they graduate. Because of that, limiting to 10 players to spotlight, as we do for other positions, was impossible. So we are listing 16 players to watch.
Make sure to vote in the poll at the bottom of the story. The poll will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7. The University of Washington commit was second in the Girls Greater Catholic League with 319 kills and fourth with 76 blocks in 2025. She will certainly be in the conversation for league player of the year after being named to the all-league and all-state first teams and the district player of the year.
Think about some of the great hitters the Pandas have had just in this decade. Anna Long, Sydney Nolan, Ava Tilden, Audrey Dyas and Grace Portwood come to mind. Now Kondik can join that list after finishing with 310 kills, 105 digs and 30 blocks as a junior. At 6-foot-1 with an approach touch of 9-foot-5, she levitates on the attack and converts any serve placement into a kill. She is committed to the University of Cincinnati.

Reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion "The Kicking Machine" Superlek has a debt to settle with Abdulla "Smash Boy" Dayakaev, and the time to collect is finally here.
Eager to avenge a razor-thin split-decision loss, the Thai megastar gets his shot at redemption in a thrilling bantamweight Muay Thai rematch at The Inner Circle 25. The highly anticipated bout goes down live in Asia primetime on Friday, August 7, exclusively for subscribers at live.onefc.com.
Their first meeting at The Inner Circle 14 this past May began the exact way most Superlek fights do. The 30-year-old muay femur stylist moved with methodical precision, processing every movement like a supercomputer calibrating its target.
However, one explosive burst from the Russian standout completely disrupted that rhythm. A disorienting right hand landed flush around the ear and temple, surprisingly sending Superlek to the canvas. The sheer impact tested his equilibrium so severely that standing steady, let alone gauging incoming strikes, became nearly impossible for the Thai icon.
The Superlek Muay Thai founder recalled:

Trying to crown a single "Greatest of All Time" in a country home to more than 1.4 billion people, one with a sporting story that stretches from colonial-era triumphs through mid-century Olympic glory to modern professional success, is no small task.
To compare athletes across different generations, with varying equipment, training methods, and levels of global competition, means weighing not just numbers but also cultural weight, staying power, international standing, and how many barriers each individual actually broke.
Below is a detailed ranking of India's five greatest male sportspersons, followed by five honourable mentions whose careers helped define the country's sporting journey just as powerfully.
Add The Sporting News as a preferred news source
When it comes to sheer, sustained global dominance over an entire era, ******* ody in Indian sport sits above Major Dhyan Chand. Known everywhere as "The Wizard," he turned field hockey from a tactical game into something closer to performance art. Competing while India remained under British rule, Dhyan Chand and his teammates gave a colonised nation a rare taste of global pride.

August is the flattest month in XRP's history, averaging a 0.43% return, and the token has closed it lower four years in a row.
XRP enters August at $1.06 with the CLARITY Act vote and Fed rate decision both pushed to September, leaving little to move the price.
XRP's weekly momentum has dropped to levels last seen at the 2022 bottom near $0.29, and exchange supply is at a seven-year low.
We expect XRP to spend August between $1.00 and $1.18 and finish near $1.10, with the bigger moves waiting on September's calendar.

WESTFIELD — Riley Leonard was given a chance to shine on a rainy Saturday that drove the Colts inside the Grand Park Events Center.
For the first time in training camp, the snaps were not split evenly between Leonard and Anthony Richardson, the two men battling for the No. 2 quarterback job behind Daniel Jones. Leonard was given two opportunities with the No. 2 offense that did not go to Richardson: six snaps at the start of practice and an extended two-minute drill at the end of practice.
The disparity likely does not mean anything at this point in camp. Saturday's practice was the first session scheduled for an hour and a half, and the two extra periods given to Leonard were added to the existing format of the three Colts practices earlier in the week. When Indianapolis returns to the practice field Monday, Richardson might be given a chance to even the snap count.
But Leonard did a good job taking advantage of his extra time Saturday, particularly in the two-minute drill.
A lot of two-minute drills are slow and methodical. Jones completed all six of his passes in his opportunity with the first-team offense, ripping off three first downs before a Laiatu Latu sack on third down gave the No. 1 defense a win.

Lucas Glover caused a real stir during the 3M Open last week.
Glover is one of the more experienced pros on the PGA Tour, and he is extremely outspoken with that.
The man from Greenville, South Carolina, proved that in abundance last week at TPC Twin Cities.
Glover's biggest pet peeve is AimPoint – the green-reading method that has become so popular among professional golfers over the past few years and, indeed, amateurs.
After holing a birdie putt on his 10th hole during the final round of the 3M Open on Sunday, Lucas Glover took off his golf shoes before leaving them on the side of the green.

Aleksandar Rakic got his first win in more than five years at UFC Fight Night 283, and did so as a heavyweight for the first time.
Rakic (14-6 MMA, 6-5 UFC) made a successful transition up from 205 pounds on Saturday when he outworked divisional veteran Marcin Tybura (27-12 MMA, 14-11 UFC) en route to a unanimous decision win by scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 30-27 at Belgrade Arena in Serbia.
After Serbian fighters went 0-3 to start the main card, Rakic put his home country on the win column with a methodical striking performance.
Rakic, 34, came out throwing high volume against Tybura, who stayed and fought from inside the pocket. Rakic slowed down a bit as the contest wore on, but remained focused and stayed out of danger while delivering damage on his Polish foes legs and head.
The result brought an end to a four-fight losing skid for Rakic and marked his first time getting his hand raised since March 2021. Tybura, meanwhile, has dropped his past three.

We still don't know if Aaron Donald will be making an NFL comeback or not, but Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay provided a couple updates on the situation Friday.
Speaking with reporters at Rams training camp at Loyola Methodist University, McVay said there would be no firm decision until the Rams have returned to their facilities at Woodland Hills on Aug. 7. However, the odds of Donald comeback are apparently better than they were a week ago:
"There have been conversations that we've had, we've loosely had some different timelines that are kinda temporary. I want to keep those between us if something unforeseen happens, out of respect for him and the situation.
"I know this: things are going in the right direction and if there's an arrow, it's trending upwards."
Rumors of a potential Donald comeback have been circulating for months, especially when the man himself told ESPN's Pat McAfee he was "for sure" thinking about a comeback following the Rams' blockbuster trade for Myles Garrett.

The company's guidance method excluded a product it had only just launched, and management said so two months before the run began.
Snowflake (SNOW) stock has gained about 98% over the past three months, from $142.56 to $282.90, while the S&P 500 returned 2.5%. Its largest cloud peers went the other way over the same window: MSFT and AMZN fell 8.8% and 12.7%, and GOOGL slipped 3.7%. Start with what the run was actually about.
The Outlook Went From 27% To 31% In One Report
At the fiscal Q1 2027 report in late May, inside the run, product revenue came in at $1.334 billion, with growth accelerating to 34% year over year, from 30% in fiscal Q4 2026 and 26% a year earlier. Net revenue retention rose to 126%, and non-GAAP operating margin expanded more than 300 basis points year over year to 12%. The bigger item was the outlook: management lifted the fiscal 2027 product revenue guide to $5.84 billion, from 27% to 31% growth, and the full-year non-GAAP operating margin guide from 12.5% to 13.5%. By the company's own explanation, the largest single driver of that raise was Cortex Code, its coding agent.

Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell admits harsh reality entering make-or-break season in Madison originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell took the podium at Big Ten Media Days with a transparent ***** sment of his program's trajectory, boldly confronting the shortcomings of his first three seasons in Madison.
"Obviously for what we're here for, like the last two years for us have not been up to the standard. I'm not shying away from that," Fickell said, acknowledging that the struggles extended well beyond simple win-loss records into the fundamental identity, toughness, and physicality of the team.
Drawing on wisdom from his former mentor Urban Meyer, Fickell recalled the mantra "don't sleep on the game," explaining that survival in modern college football requires recognizing the rapid evolution not just of tactical schemes, but of every single facet of the sport.
Over the past eight to nine months, Fickell noted that Wisconsin undertook an exhaustive internal review of training methods, practice intensity, and player health to correct critical injuries that hampered past campaigns.

Zendaya continues her legendary reign of method dressing on the red carpet. Attending the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere after-party in London, the actress turned heads in a jaw-dropping custom creation. Styled by her long-time image architect Law Roach, she channeled iconic comic book history. Consequently, her striking look brought classic Marvel art to life while delivering high-fashion drama that fans around the world will never forget.
For the late-night celebration, Zendaya wore a custom-designed halter dress created by American designer LaQuan Smith. The body-hugging midi dress featured bold, horizontal black-and-white stripes that wrapped around her frame.
The dress showcased a daringly deep plunging V-neckline that extended all the way down toward her waist. At the bottom, the sleek bodycon silhouette flared out into a dramatic, vibrant red satin ruffled hem at her calves.
The unique outfit was a direct recreation of a vintage 1980s Spider-Man comic book illustration. Specifically, it brought to life a paper-doll dress designed for Mary Jane Watson nearly 40 years ago.
Interestingly, Selena Gomez previously wore a bold striped LaQuan Smith knit dress during a high-profile appearance, proving the designer's mastery of eye-catching lines. However, Zendaya's custom version takes the striped aesthetic to a cinematic level by transforming comic book art into red-carpet couture.

Muay Thai, a combat style with roots in close-quarter fighting from 7th Century Southeast Asia, has evolved over two millennia into a brutally effective means of self-defense. Today, it's often called "the Art of Eight Limbs." The wealth of diversity that started flourishing in Northern California in the wake of the Vietnam War meant that an array of Muay Thai masters were now living and teaching in cities from San Francisco to Stockton. Gyms fine-tuning the method's array of punches, kicks, knee-strikes and elbow-strikes have become plentiful enough – including in Northwest Nevada – that a robust competition circuit has become increasingly popular in the Sacramento Valley. On Saturday night, Hard Rock Live in Wheatland, working with World Fighting Championships and Rising Stars Muay Thai, will bring the first-ever, lightning-placed Muay Thai throw-down to the Yuba-Sutter Region.
The action starts at 7 p.m.
The night's main event is a championship match between Antonio Martinez (12-4) of Monster Muay Thai in Flagstaff, Arizona, and Eddie Abasolo (11-7) of Combat Sports Academy in Dublin, California. The winner will walk away with the WFC Professional Muay Thai Championship.
The co-main event will see undefeated Garrett Boyer (5-0) of Vital Force Muay Thai taking on Sacramento's Alberto Montano (11-2), with the victor getting crowned both the WFC Amateur Muay Thai Champion and Rising Stars Muay Thai Amateur Champion.
Organizers say the professional undercard features several compelling matchups, including Caley Scott (0-1) of Omni Movement taking on Sacramento's Cy Hanson (0-0) of Sit Thongsai, as well as undefeated Joe Kimbrough (4-0) of Black Flag Kickboxing facing hometown fighter Marcos Jimenez (1-0) of Collective Combat Academy.

Patetuci, Ancelotti, Dalla Déa and Paulo Victor: national teams in harmonyCredits: Rafael Ribeiro / CBF
The meeting between head coach Carlo Ancelotti and the managers of CBF's three Brazilian men's youth national teams, held on Thursday afternoon (30) at Granja Comary in Teresópolis (RJ), marked the beginning of a new phase in the integration process among all levels of the Canarinho.
For nearly two hours, Ancelotti and Paulo Victor, of the Under-20 team, Carlos Eduardo Patetuci, of the Under-17s, and Guilherme Dalla Déa, of the Under-15s, discussed strategic topics related to the development of Brazilian football and player training. The meeting also served to establish the guidelines that will steer the joint work of the coaching staffs in the coming cycles.
The initiative reinforces CBF's commitment to an integrated sports management model, in which the constant exchange of information, methodologies and concepts strengthens talent development and makes it easier for young players to transition to the senior national team, ensuring greater continuity in the work carried out across all age groups.
Also present at the meeting, among several representatives of the youth coaching staffs, were the general executive coordinator of the men's national teams, Rodrigo Caetano, and the men's national teams manager, Cícero Souza.

LeBron James' decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers rocked the world of sport over recent days and fans are already pining to get their hands on a jersey.
Signing a global megastar of James' calibre is always going to have a positive impact on the revenue streams for a franchise like the Sixers.
One of the biggest ways in which the Sixers will benefit is through jersey sales, with reports suggesting James has already surpassed Shohei Ohtani's for the most jerseys sold by any player switching teams within the first 48 hours.
However, it has become apparent that one Sixers fan was unwilling to wait for his new jersey showing up in the post as he took matters into his own hands.
Although he has not got his hands on a James jersey yet, one fan has gone viral online for his unique method in showing his support for 'King James'.

Four days after OpenAI disclosed that its models had escaped a cyber evaluation and compromised Hugging Face, CEO Sam Altman said humanity had entered science-fiction territory.
"We are now, like, in the singularity. This is the moment."— Sam Altman, July 25 episode of Relentless
Altman did not present the breach as evidence for that claim, but the timing gave his words an uncomfortable real-world backdrop.
OpenAI disabled its production safety classifiers to measure the models' maximum cyber capability. Its July 21 disclosure said they exploited a proxy zero-day, escaped isolation, reached the internet and used stolen credentials and other methods to enter Hugging Face's production systems. They pursued benchmark answers, not a self-selected goal, yet improvised against a live company beyond a boundary their operators expected to hold.
Reuters reported on July 24 that the intrusion ran from July 11 through July 13 and OpenAI took nearly a week after the first escape attempt to connect its test to the breach. Hugging Face had already disclosed it and contacted the FBI. An OpenAI spokeswoman alleged "several inaccuracies" without identifying them. This is not proof that AI has surpassed humanity or begun rewriting itself. It shows agents can sustain complex operations long enough to outrun their controls.
