Lucas Glover caused a real stir during the 3M Open last week.
Glover is one of the more experienced pros on the PGA Tour, and he is extremely outspoken with that.
The man from Greenville, South Carolina, proved that in abundance last week at TPC Twin Cities.
Glover's biggest pet peeve is AimPoint – the green-reading method that has become so popular among professional golfers over the past few years and, indeed, amateurs.

Julian Menser, who had never seen the Pfau Course at Indiana University before this week, can certainly see where the teeth of the notoriously difficult layout would come out. It's just that, playing in Golfweek's Hoosier Amateur on July 28-30, he didn't experience it that way – and that made all the difference.
"I knew it was hard, everyone said it was hard, but when you're playing good, even hard golf courses sometimes don't feel that difficult," said Menser, who is about to enter his junior year at Michigan State. "But the second you start hitting it offline, courses get really difficult. I hit it pretty well. I was hitting it off the center of the face off the tee too, so I didn't really see much of the trouble, which made it feel a little easier, but it's out there. I hit a couple wayward shots and all of a sudden, you're staring double in the face."
At the end of a final round in which four different players held the lead at some point in the day, Menser, of South Lyon, Michigan, walked away with the Hoosier Amateur **** le by a one-shot margin. Rounds of 68-70-69 left him at 6 under for the week, and a birdie on the 17th hole in the final round was key in moving him to the top of the leaderboard, ahead of Grand Canyon junior Benjamin Keil, who bogeyed the 17th. Silas Haarer, a sophomore at Liberty University, finished third at 3 under.
Key in Menser's victory also was a lack of bogeys. He only made three all week. Menser correctly realized that the Pfau would not give up many birdies – he had nine of those in 54 holes – so steadiness would be key. Menser is typically not a player who pours in a ton of birdies anyway, he acknowledged.
"It's just not really my style," he said. "I knew if I would stay steady, don't miss it short side, just make a bunch of pars, I'd probably end up in good shape."

Tony Romo, the former NFL quarterback and top CBS television ******* yst, has reportedly been placed "on leave" by CBS following his OWI arrest after a golf tournament in Milwaukee.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news July 31, eight days after Romo was pulled over and taken into custody by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office on suspicion of operating his vehicle while intoxicated. Full videos of the arrest and subsequent field-sobriety tests have been released.
Schefter also wrote that, for now, another Wisconsin high school alumnus will take Romo's place in the lead booth – Pewaukee High School and University of Wisconsin legend J.J. Watt.
Romo received a citation for refusal to take a test for intoxication and failing the field sobriety test. In Wisconsin, a first-offense OWI is a traffic violation and typically carries a fine.
Romo was pulled over on Interstate 43 just south of the Marquette Interchange after participating in the Wisconsin Amateur golf tournament in West Bend during the weekend.

The YouTube golfer, who was once a highly-touted amateur, received a sponsor's exemption to play at the Rocket Classic, his first PGA Tour event since 2016.
Expectations were high for Dalke after he had a strong showing at the BMW International Open on the DP World Tour recently, but in his worst nightmares, he couldn't have dreamed of a worse start in Detroit this week.
He shot an opening-round 81, leaving him second-to-last in the field through 18 holes of golf. Dalke's round featured seven bogeys, a double and a quad as he sprayed it all over the park.
It was a disaster for Dalke, and he took to social media to share his honest thoughts on his start to the event.

July 30 - Christian Garcia admits that he threw a water bottle toward officers guarding a federal building near Los Angeles during an immigration protest last summer.
The plastic bottle was empty, he said, and hit no one but Garcia himself – the wind blew it back at him. Yet Garcia, a 32-year-old amateur photographer, was arrested by agents, jailed for three days and charged with a crime that could have kept him in prison for up to a year. He said he lost both of his jobs, as a security guard and an undercover shopper, after his bosses told him they had been called by investigators.
Then, with no public explanation, prosecutors dropped the case.
The Trump administration has brought criminal charges against at least 851 people accused of attacking or impeding federal officers, only to abandon them at an unusually high rate. A Reuters review of federal court records found that 31% of these cases that have been completed so far have ended in dismissal. That compares to 8% of all federal criminal cases that typically end in dismissal, according to records compiled by the Federal Judicial Center.

Saltburn Cricket Club have suspended a player, humorously called "Clicky Ponting", after he was accused of cheating during a local league match by clicking his fingers to make it sound like the batter had edged the ball.
The incident, which happened during Saltburn's second XI win over Norton, went viral on social media after video footage appeared to show the fielder making the sound just before the wicketkeeper completed the catch.
The umpire gave the batter out, sparking widespread criticism online.
Responding to the controversy, Saltburn Cricket Club, an English outfit, said they were taking the allegations seriously and had suspended the player while an investigation is underway.
In a statement, the club said, "We are treating this allegation with the utmost seriousness and, as a family-centric club, we are fully cooperating with the NYS League's investigation."
The statement added, "The player at the centre of the complaint has been suspended and will not play again for the club this season or in the foreseeable future, pending the outcome of this investigation."
Saltburn have also withdrawn from their second-team cup match against Marton as the investigation continues. Club officials have already spoken with league representatives and said the situation has been difficult for everyone involved.
They added, "This has been a very distressing and stressful experience for all those concerned, and we would ask that this reality is borne in mind and that personal boundaries are respected, as we are an amateur club entirely run by volunteers."
The viral clip has now been viewed more than 7.5 million times on X, with several well-known figures criticising the alleged act.

The Twin Cities injected some excitement into the late season last week, and there was good news for former Bulldogs to boot. First, Tour rookie (I mean like 24 days since turning pro) Jackson Koivun won the 3M Open in his 3rd start as a professional and 7th time playing a Tour event (he played several as an amateur and based on his NCAA Championship). He beat everyone not named Scottie Scheffler by 5 shots, and held off the world #1 in the process. His incredible collegiate career at Auburn was not a fluke, unlike their academic credentials.
For the boys in red & black: Keith Mitchell finished in a tie for 44th, so his position in the FedEx Cup points did not change. Chris Kirk got to 12 under par, and the T31 finish ***** ped him up 3 spots to 143rd in the FedEx. But he'll need a VERY high finish the next two weeks to get into the post-season. David Thompson got a much-needed top 10 (T7) and that moved him up to 93rd position – still outside the top 70 but do now he has an outside chance to advance.

LYTHAM ST. ANNES, England — Their journeys to professional golf couldn't have been more contrasting. Lydia Ko was a child prodigy; Ryan Fox was a late bloomer who didn't turn pro until age 25. Ko rose to fame when, at 14, she became the youngest winner of a tour event and, at 18, became the youngest major winner. Fox was 39 when he won his first major at the British Open two weeks ago.
But they are united by their homeland of New Zealand and by shared experiences in team rooms. Those moments began with pranks at the 2010 World Amateur Teams Championships. These days, the New Zealand bonding sessions play out on a far bigger stage—at the past three Olympic games.
"We went to World Team Ams when I was 14," Ko recalled on Wednesday at the AIG Women's British Open at Royal Lytham. "I don't know if I'm allowed to say it, but he may or may not have tricked me to think my ***** e glass was—I thought it was my ***** e glass—but it was red wine. He's always been the same."
Which is why, two weeks ago, Ko was in tears watching from the U.S. as Fox took the British Open by the scruff of the neck with weekend rounds of 62-68 at Royal Birkdale. Fox stole the claret jug from clubhouse leader Cameron Young with three-under performance in his final six holes, including a walk-off birdie on the 72nd to win by one.
"I was on the West Coast in the U.S. so there was quite a bit of time difference," Ko said Wednesday. "I went to go work out and everywhere I went I was like, 'Please turn on the Open.' It ended up not working on the TV, so I had my trainer turn it on my cell phone and I [also] had it on my cell phone. I can't remember my work out at all."

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office has released a series of videos of NFL broadcaster and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's arrest in Milwaukee last week.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel filed a public records request for the footage shortly after he was taken into custody on July 23.
In the videos, captured on body cameras, the Burlington-reared Romo, 46, appears compliant, though at points seemed confused or unable to hear instructions deputies gave him during their OWI investigation.
A sheriff's office arrest report says Romo was pulled over driving southbound on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee shortly after 6 p.m. because of a bad lane change.

For a sport with a reputation for moving slowly, golf always seems to be in a hurry to appoint the next big star.
Jackson Koivun is next on the list and certainly worth watching.
It's not just because he won a PGA Tour event — which included the No. 1 player in the world — just two months after leaving college. Remember, it was only two years ago when Nick Dunlap won The American Express (Scottie Scheffler played that one, too) while he was a sophomore at Alabama.
Different about Koivun is that he carried the expectations of being the No. 1 amateur in the world. He won six times in college, swept all the awards as the best player, led Auburn to another NCAA ****** le and last year had three straight top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events without ever looking as though the moment was too big.

Several local sports celebrities will play alongside PGA Tour golfers at Detroit Golf Club during Wednesday's annual pro-am tournament, which is open to the public and free for fans.

The North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League has started an investigation into a second XI Division 2 game between Saltburn and Norton.
A viral video on social media appears to show a Saltburn fielder clicking his fingers as the ball passes Noman Shabir's bat before being caught by wicketkeeper Josh Bowes. Saltburn appeal and the umpire gives Shabir out.
It has been suggested that the finger-clicking was designed to trick the umpire into thinking the batter edged the ball.
Saltburn won by 159 runs and are top of Division 2 by 17 points.

Russell carded two eagles and five birdies in a 2-and-1 victory over incoming Vanderbilt freshman Tyler Mawhinney to advance to Saturday's 36-hole final of the U.S. Junior Amateur.
Mawhinney is a highly decorated prospect in his own right at No. 102 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and with a USGA ***** le already to his name (2025 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball). He entered Friday's bout with Russell, the world's seventh-ranked amateur, having played the par-3 in 8 under for the week. He was 7 under in 17 holes against Russell and still lost.

Boczar, of Canton, won the 110th Michigan Women's Amateur Championship on Friday at Katke Cousins Golf Course on the campus of Oakland University, where Boczar played the first two years of her collegiate career. Boczar held off Macomb's Lauren Timpf, 2-up, in the championship match, sealing the ******* le with a 10-footer for birdie on the 18th hole.
"I was able to be confident and come out here and have some fun," said Boczar, 22. "It was just an awesome week."
Boczar, who finished her college career at Baylor University and will graduate in December, had two tight matches Friday, beating Elise Fennell of Central Michigan and Kentwood, 1-up, in Friday's morning semifinal match.
In the afternoon championship match, Boczar and Timpf traded momentum swings, with neither player holding more than a 1-up lead until the final hole. FARMINGTON — Most caddies are credited by top amateur and professional golfers for helping them select the right clubs and read greens, but for 20-year-old Ashley Lam on Thursday at Oakridge Country Club, it was a little piece of advice her 22-year-old brother Sean Lam gave her that just might have meant the difference between winning and losing the 36-hole championship match of the 120th Utah Women's Amateur.
Four times heavy underdog Ashley Lam took the lead over six-time champion Kelsey Chugg, 35, on a buzzard-hot day in Davis County, but each time Chugg came roaring back, including from a three-hole deficit on the 32th, 34th and 35th holes to square the match heading into the 36th hole, No. 18 at Oakridge.
So how was Lam able to keep her composure after losing the big lead in a four-hole stretch?
"It was just my brother telling me to lock in and just stop being a little baby," she said, then added that she wouldn't take that kind of tough love from anybody but him. Sean Lam played golf briefly for Glendale College in Arizona and now works for Callaway.
"It was a really great experience, just because he's been with me all throughout, just my whole childhood playing golf with him," an emotional Ashley Lam said after her big brother playfully roughed her up a bit to congratulate her on the 18th green before the traditional trophy ceremony took place.

WEST BEND – Spencer Turtz began the final round of the 125th Wisconsin Amateur Championship on July 23 as a co-leader, and he hoped to feel some nerves on the 18th hole with a chance to claim the state's most prestigious amateur event.
He did, but not until his final full swing into No. 18. The approach found the center of the green, leading to a par for a final round 2-over 73 and a tournament victory at 3-over 287.
"I was pretty happy feeling those little nerves," Turtz said. "It was fun. Fun to compete."
Turtz's playing partner and co-leader Ricky Kuiper [Racine] gave Turtz some breathing room when he double-bogeyed the par 3 17th, which gave Turtz a three-shot lead heading to the last. After finding the fairway with his tee shot, Turtz wanted to know what he needed to do to win.
When caddie and former Badgers teammate Cameron Huss told him to play it safe, and that he could capture the trophy with a two or three-putt, Turtz felt the ******* erflies.

MIAMI (AP) — Rintaro Sasaki was ready to turn his long-awaited dream into a reality.
The ****** anese slugger had a choice to make. He could return to Stanford, where he played college baseball for two seasons. He could pursue a pro career in his home country, where was selected last October by the ****** uoka SoftBank Hawks in the first round of the Nippon Professional Baseball draft.
Or, he could sign with Major League Baseball's Miami Marlins, who selected him in the eighth round of the amateur draft earlier this month.
It wasn't an easy decision for Sasaki, but it was ultimately a befitting one.
"My dream is always going to be how I'm going to make it to big the leagues as soon as possible," Sasaki said Thursday, wearing a Marlins jersey. "That's a big reason for choosing Miami. It's giving me a great opportunity."
