Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Kerim Alajbegovic. The 18-year-old, who will turn 19 on 21 September, has signed a five-year contract with the Club, running until 30 June, 2031.

Last season, the Houston Texans featured one of the league's top defenses, ranking top-10 in nearly every statistical category. Perhaps their biggest win was keeping opponents at bay, as they allowed 20 points or less in 12 regular-season games.
Nine starters returned from the No. 1-ranked unit, but Houston needed to find a replacement for the interchangeable Denico Autry on the defensive line. Tampa Bay's defensive end Logan Hall played a role similar to Autry's during his four seasons with the Buccaneers, collecting 10 sacks, 101 tackles, including 15 for loss, and 23 quarterback hits.
Hall signed a two-year, $13.75 million contract this offseason with Houston and is already through the early stages of camp; he seems to be coming along the defensive line.
"Logan has done a good job with just working himself back to getting out to playing football. He had surgery in the offseason, so he's been doing a good job of working with our guys on the side and now getting integrated back to football," Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said. "He just has to get used to the techniques and the things we're asking the defensive line to do."

The Miami Dolphins were off from practice on Saturday after their three opening days of training camp earlier this week. While the full pads weren't on, which is when we can offer a true evaluation, there have been certain signs that can be encouraging for the upcoming 2026 season.
Starting on offense, while new quarterback Malik Willis had some ups and downs over the last few days, there have been indications that he could very well be a potential successful signal-caller for this team. Displaying some good touch passing, evident by his touchdown throw to tight end Ben Sims, as well as his ability as a dual-threat player to run the ball when needed, Willis will make his case to be a franchise quarterback.
As far as who he will be throwing to, a pair of rookies have looked rather good so far in the early going. Namely third-round pick Caleb Douglas, as well as fifth-round slot/return man Kevin Coleman Jr. Douglas found the end zone and has been making a name for himself. Coleman displayed his skills in getting open and comes into the pros with outstanding hands and the ability to create after the catch. With fellow rookie Chris Bell on the non-football injury list, there is positive anticipation upon his return, which could create a very intriguing young trio of targets for Willis.
Another rookie who has created some buzz is top draft pick offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor. Showing up to camp at a respectable weight, which was an early concern upon his selection, is very encouraging to see. He will man the left guard spot next to left tackle Patrick Paul, which creates perhaps the largest left side to an offensive line in the league.
Paul likes what he sees so far in his offensive line neighbor in Proctor, saying, "he's a great football player, and he knows that. He's definitely confident; that's never going to be a problem for him. Paul added, "he's full speed. I think that just comes from the way he was playing football in college to now. I mean Alabama, everyone knows Alabama. He's got it in him, for sure."

Roma officially welcomes Konstantinos Koulierakis.
The Greek defender, who has chosen the number 33 shirt, will arrive at the training camp in Wales today, where he will immediately make himself available to Gian Piero Gasperini.

Arsenal continued their pre-season schedule in style with an impressive 4-1 victory over Girona in Catalonia, as teenage sensation Max Dowman once again underlined why excitement around the youngster continues to grow.
As reported by Sky Sports, the 16-year-old produced a goal and an ******* ist in a superb individual display, while new summer signing Christos Tzolis also marked the occasion with a goal as Mikel Arteta's side eased to victory.

Marc Cucurella has caused quite a stir in recent weeks.
First, after winning the World Cup, he got a tattoo of Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente, and then he also treated himself to a new hairstyle.
But Cucurella's biggest highlight so far came when he gave an English postman probably his most exciting day at work in a long time.
The left-back, who is still living in London for now and is set to join Real Madrid shortly, even let his mailman Gary wear his World Cup medal and posed for a photo with him.
"I think I'm the first Englishman in 60 years to hold a World Cup medal in my hands," he joked afterward.

In couple more years the uniforms will look like NASCAR driver suits. What next, naming rights for the team benches and medic tents? How about all the team support staff and managers having patches like the NASCAR pit crews? Next, they can add bus wraps for home and away rental busses with all kinds of additional sponsorships. Finally, we can start to add patches all over the uniforms of TBDBITL. Is the day very far away when the players and coaches will have to wear custom gear anytime they are on campus? The quest to grab more money to buy more players and build bigger facilities is beyond the pale.

Dear Brian: One thing became very clear after LeBron James announced his intent to take his talents (less than what they used to be) to Philadelphia: He never had any loyalty to the city, fan base or organization in Cleveland — a fan base that revered him, one that hoped he'd sign with the Cavs and end his career on a fairy tale note with one last hope of another championship. It was not to be. It was James' right to sign anywhere he wanted, no questioning that, but he was never the King of Cleveland, not even close. Yes, he helped bring a long-awaited championship to the city of Cleveland, and for that I am ever grateful! The Indians should have in 1997, but that is another story. It's apparent James didn't revere Cleveland as much as we would have liked to think. Remember him yelling "This is for you, Cleveland" after the Game 7 Finals victory in 2016? I think that was more about redemption for himself after he bungled the first free agency decision than about Cleveland ending its 52-year championship drought. The true face of Cleveland is Jose Ramirez. No doubt about it, not even close. The future Hall of Famer has shown his love for the city, the fans and the organization time and time again, signing extensions for less than what he could get on the open market. One could argue Joe Thomas and even Joel Bitonio are better representations of Cleveland than LeBron ever was. Most people know the general gist of Maycon Cardozo's rise through the ranks of Bayern Munich so far, but it is worth repeating how rapidly the pint sized magician has overcome every challenge thus far. Picked as part of the 2024 Bayern World Squad edition, the Brazilian impressed the likes of Roy Makaay and his fellow World Squad coaches so much that they unanimously agreed to recommend Bayern to sign the youngster from the Sports Thai Bavaria Academy in Thailand. He duly joined the U17s in January 2025, moved up to the U-19s in the summer, made it to the U-23s by January 2026 and made his first team debut under Vincent Kompany in March 2026 in a 4-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Now two 2026/27 preseason games are gone and Cardozo has passed his next challenge. Moved all over the pitch to unfamiliar positions, including on the right flank against Rottach-Egern, he nevertheless impressed. Nor are just his performances on the pitch impressive, multiple coaches have been impressed by the youngster's work ethic. Bildreports (as captured by iMiaSanMia) that Cardozo has an outside chance at a role with the first team for the 2026/27 season:

After exiting Friday's training camp practice to be evaluated for injury, presumed starting defensive tackle Alim McNeill has reportedly gotten good news.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, McNeill is believed to be okay after exiting Friday's training camp practice. The Lions were evaluating McNeill for a neck injury.
McNeill, 26, is expected to be one of the Lions' starting defensive tackles, and the hope is that the 6-foot-2, 310-pound defensive lineman can get back to his 2024 form. McNeill had totaled 25 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks before suffering a torn ACL in his right knee in December of 2024.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, McNeill is believed to be okay after exiting Friday's training camp practice. The Lions were evaluating McNeill for a neck injury.
McNeill, 26, is expected to be one of the Lions' starting defensive tackles, and the hope is that the 6-foot-2, 310-pound defensive lineman can get back to his 2024 form. McNeill had totaled 25 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks before suffering a torn ACL in his right knee in December of 2024.

Four years ago, when the Browns, Panthers, Falcons, and Saints entered a four-way competition for quarterback Deshaun Watson, Cleveland was the first team to which Watson said, "No thanks." A five-year, fully-guaranteed contract quickly changed his mind.
Still, there's been a lingering perception that Watson didn't really want to play for the Browns. Before too long, it seemed as if the Browns were counting the days until they could move on from Watson.
Will that change? On Friday, owner Jimmy Haslam kept the door open on Watson returning in 2027. On Saturday, Watson made his feelings for Cleveland clear.
"When I first got here, there was a lot of stuff going on, as the world knows," Watson told reporters. "But I don't have any bad feelings toward Cleveland. I love Cleveland. Me and my wife have our house on the east side, so we're here all the time. We were here this summer. If you ask around, I'm at pretty much all the restaurants, hanging out, so I haven't had a bad experience outside of different times in the stadium. I don't know why that narrative is out there that people think that I don't like Cleveland. My family and I have been enjoying our time here, if the opportunity shows up, we'll see where it goes."
The first step will be winning the starting job. The second step will be playing well enough to return. And the third step will be fending off any other teams that may want Watson, if he re-establishes himself as a high-level NFL starter.

Riley seemed to come out of nowhere this week, and even Saturday, when he made a 50-plus-foot putt for birdie at the 17th hole and then made another birdie at the 18th to secure himself a spot in the final pairing Sunday. Those have been two of the most difficult holes all week.

Progressive groups celebrated a major victory when 29-year-old Democratic Socialist Melat Kiros ousted 15-term Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado's 1st Congressional District in June. But the Democratic primary upset heightened safety concerns among Denver's Jewish leaders, who warn her sharp rhetoric will fuel antisemitic hostility and violence in their city.
Local Jewish leaders told Fox News Digital that Kiros has left many in the community on edge because of her controversial comments — including describing the Oct. 7 attacks as "inevitable," refusing to label a local firebombing as antisemitic, and accusing Israel of genocide and apartheid.
In the hours after Kiros claimed victory, Rabbi Menachem Lehrfield, director of the Jewish Outreach Initiative in Denver, wrote on social media that he felt fearful knowing that many of his neighbors seemed to support the kind of anti-Israel rhetoric Kiros campaigned on. Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson has always kept his contract situation top of mind ever since coming into the league. From 2023 when he was the subject of trade talks to the summer of 2025 when he discussed possibly doing a new deal after he signed his four-year extension during the spring of 2024, Johnson has never wavered when talking about his future in the league. Now prior to the 2026 season, Johnson eyes a new payday and understands this could be his last season in Chicago.
On Saturday, Johnson met with the media and was asked about 2026 being a pivotal season with the explosion in deals for cornerbacks in recent years. Johnson didn't hesitate with his answer. "It's definitely a contract year," he said. "We all know with the cap hit and all that stuff. It's definitely a contract year for me, so at the end of the day, whether that's here or somewhere else, I've got to put it on tape that I am still a top guy in this league."
Johnson is set to make $24 million in 2026, which is the second-highest total among cornerbacks for this upcoming season, trailing only Marlon Humphrey of the Baltimore Ravens. But as Johnson alluded to, he has no remaining guaranteed money after this season and can be cut next offseason to save $16 million. If 2026 is a repeat of what happened in 2025, then that decision will be easy for the Bears.
Last year, Johnson dealt with groin injuries that caused him to miss two months of games. When he returned to action in late November, Johnson was a shell of himself and played through pain to help the Bears capture the NFC North and return to the postseason for the first time since his rookie year. Now that he's fully healthy, though, Johnson is eyeing a third big contract.
"I'm not a dummy. I structured my deal a certain way to put myself back at the table at the age of 27," Johnson said. "For me, it was always for this point to get here and then show out and do what I do and be healthy and be out there doing what I do best. That's covering, that's making plays, and being a difference maker. And then from there, wherever that contract talk goes, it goes."

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) — If the New York Giants get the same Kayvon Thibodeaux this season who showed up the first few days of training camp, he'll force his way onto the field and make himself a lot of money next spring.
Thibodeaux tipped a pass from Jameis Winston in the first practice and intercepted one in the second earlier this week, showing flashes of what made him the fifth pick in the 2022 draft. He has been playing mostly with the second-string defense, given edge rushers Brian Burns and Abdul Carter also being on the roster.
He brushed that off, along with going into a contract year, as any extra fuel. Still, the Giants very well could get a motivated Thibodeaux after no trade materialized for him at or before the draft, and with a potential payday — likely elsewhere — coming for him in free agency next March.
"You just want to be the best player you can be," Thibodeaux said Saturday. "Keep finding ways to help the team. Keep leading."
Thibodeaux is coming off setting career lows with 2 1/2 sacks, 25 tackles and nine quarterback hits, playing in just 10 games before a shoulder injury ended his fourth NFL season. A reduced role on a unit with Burns and Carter didn't help, and he's not sure where he fits now.
