TSV 1860 Munich have signed Mathew Collins, son of British rock legend Phil Collins, to a one-year contract running until 2027, the German fourth-tier Regionalliga club announced on Friday.
Collins, 21, completed a trial with the Munich club before signing. 1860 Munich begin their season on Saturday with an away match at Schweinfurt.
The historic club were relegated from the third division for financial reasons and have parted ways with their long-standing investor Hasan Ismaik.
Matthew Collins spent last season in Austria with SV Austria Salzburg.
The Swiss-passport-holding midfielder made four second-division appearances for Salzburg, totalling 33 minutes of playing time, and also featured once in the cup.

Al-Ahli boss Matthias Jaissle is the surprise favourite to succeed Eddie Howe - who is expected to leave his role with immediate effect - as Newcastle head coach - and he would arrive with a strong recent record of success.
Former Red Bull Salzburg boss Jaissle took his first coaching steps as ******* istant manager of Danish club Brondby between 2017 and 2019. He then took over Salzburg's under-18 academy team before becoming a head coach for the first time at Liefering in Austria's second tier.
He guided them to a second-placed finish, the club's joint-best position, and that achievement helped him become Salzburg manager in 2021, replacing Jesse Marsch, who would later manage Leeds United in the Premier League and then Canada at the 2026 World Cup.
In two seasons with Salzburg, Jaissle won the Austrian Bundesliga twice and also the Austrian Cup.

The transfer of Kerim Alajbegovic to Juventus Turin is on the verge of being completed. According to consistent media reports, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and the Italian top club have already agreed on the terms of the sale for the 18-year-old Bosnia international.
At present, only the forward's signature is still missing, with the deal expected to be finalized shortly.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Leverkusen are set to receive a base fee of around €33 million, plus possible bonus payments.
This makes the deal a complete financial home run. Last summer, the Cologne-born player had still been sold to RB Salzburg for two million euros. After his strong development in Austria, the Rhineland club activated an agreed buy-back option worth eight million euros.
By selling him on directly to Turin, Leverkusen are now generating a hefty million-euro profit — and that without Alajbegovic having played even a single competitive minute in the shirt of Leverkusen's first team.

The 38-year-old German was a centre-half, progressing through the Stuttgart youth system before playing senior football for Hoffenheim from 2007 to 2014.

Brentford are moving decisively in the market, with Evening Standard reporting that the club are "closing in on a deal to sign Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare as a replacement for Jordan Henderson". It is understood the Bees are making real progress, with talks described as advanced and confidence growing internally that an agreement can be reached.
The proposed package is significant. Sangare "would cost around €45million (£38.5m)", a figure that would place him among the biggest investments in Brentford's history and potentially make him the club's record signing. That alone underlines how seriously Brentford are treating this next step, particularly after Henderson's situation shifted quickly. The report adds that Brentford have alternatives in mind if negotiations hit a snag, but for now Sangare appears the leading option.
The 24-year-old brings a strong profile. He has four years left on his contract, has already earned 16 caps for Mali, and made five appearances at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. At club level, he helped Lens lift the Coupe De France, with Pierre Sage, now at Crystal Palace, also linked to the player. Palace's interest is said to be ongoing, which may sharpen the timetable if Brentford want to get this over the line.

Eddie Howe is set to step down as Newcastle United head coach according to reports.
The Magpies first appointed former Bournemouth boss Howe midway through the 2021/22 season as a replacement for Steve Bruce and the new manager quickly oversaw an improvement in form.
Newcastle then went on to reach the League Cup final in 2023 and lost to Manchester United before then finally ending a barren trophy run in the same competition two years later with a 2-1 win over Liverpool.
Reports suggest that Howe's decision to leave came after discussions with the club's hierarchy with the club having a difficult summer that he seen key players leave. Meanwhile, on the pitch Newcastle recently lost 4-1 in a pre-season friendly to Championship side Bristol City.
Newcastle are now expected to turn to current Al-Ahli and former RB Salzburg head coach Matthias Jaissle. The Premier League side are said to be in advanced talks with the German.

Niclas Fullkrug has been linked with a move to Lazio as Gennaro Gattuso searches for a new number nine. The experienced 33-year-old is reportedly eager to head to Rome, yet there are a few factors hindering the deal.
Firstly, while Fullkrug has been offered up to the uncertain Biancocelesti following his loan stint with AC Milan last term, he earns €3.5 million and would have to cut his salary to return to Italy.
Second of all, the German's single goal in 20 Serie A appearances hardly makes for good reading. In fact, as Corriere dello Sport confirm, Gattuso is eyeing up a loan-to-buy move for Milan's Santi Gimenez. The risk with that, however, is that it's a deal that can only be evaluated in late August, ****** uming the striker is still with the Rossoneri after struggles of his own.
Gattuso has quite the recruitment job on his hands. At the time of writing, this window sees him with an exposed defence and a blunt attack – one that only registered 41 goals last season.
Petar Ratkov could leave the club after a bleak spell on the team's fringes, despite Lazio shelling out €13 million to Salzburg for him. Plus, with the side's ninth-placed finish last term, there isn't exactly a huge transfer fund to dip into for what is a very expensive position.

Takumu Kawamura is returning to his native ******* an and will once again play for first-division club Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
The 26-year-old ******* anese midfielder joined Salzburg from there in the summer of 2024. Due to several injuries, Kawamura only managed to play eight matches in the following two seasons.

Barcelona's signing of Karim Adeyemi has not only strengthened Hansi Flick's attack but also brought an end to one of Borussia Dortmund's most consistent transfer trends.
The German winger arrived at Barcelona in a deal worth a fixed €22 million, with a further €7 million in performance-related add-ons.
While the agreement certainly represents a sensible piece of business for Borussia Dortmund given that Adeyemi had entered the final year of his contract, it falls well short of the enormous profits the Bundesliga side has become famous for generating in the transfer market.
According to the figures involved, Barcelona's Karim Adeyemi transfer is one of the few major Dortmund departures in recent years that has not resulted in a substantial financial windfall for the German club.

New Hamburg attacking addition Patson Daka bid the Bundesliga a spirited ****** o on Friday. Following his arrival at HSV's Austrian training camp, new striker Patson Daka has spoken about his decision to join the Bundesliga club and his determination to escape the difficult period that stalled his career at Leicester City.
The 27-year-old joined HSV on a free transfer after Leicester's relegation to the English third tier. Daka, for whom the former Premier League club paid approximately €30m five years ago, initially signed a one-year contract containing an extension option. The Zambian international is expected to make his unofficial debut in Saturday's friendly against 1. FC Heidenheim.
Daka's fellow new Hamburg signing – Moroccan U23 international Bilal Nadir – also saw his arrival on a free transfer confirmed Friday. Like Daka, Nadir is also hoping to put a recent rough patch behind him. Former Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig professional Xaver Schlager – a free agent since July 1st – has officially selected Nottingham Forest as his next station. The Austrian international will be reunited with newly appointed Forest head coach Oliver Glasner, under whom he worked for two seasons at Wolfsburg between 2019 and 2021.
Schlager departs German football having made 150 Bundesliga appearances over the course of the last seven seasons. During that time, he scored seven Bundesliga goals and earned 55 caps for his native country.
Schlager arrived in German football when Wolfsburg signed him from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2019. An ankle injury disrupted the first half of his debut campaign, but the Austrian soon established himself alongside Maximilian Arnold in central midfield. By August 2021, Schlager had already made 70 competitive appearances for die Wölfe and developed into one of the team’s most important midfielders.
His Wolfsburg rise was interrupted by a cruciate ligament rupture suffered against Leipzig early in the 2021/22 season. Schlager underwent surgery and remained sidelined until February 2022. He nevertheless returned strongly enough to earn a move to Leipzig, who paid approximately €12m for him that summer.
Schlager quickly became an important part of Marco Rose’s Leipzig midfield. He scored the winner against Werder Bremen in November 2022 as the German Red Bulls extended their unbeaten run across all competitions to 13 matches. His energetic pressing, physicality and willingness to contest virtually every midfield duel made him well suited to Rose’s football.

Bosnian online portal Faktor – as relayed by transfermarkt.de – reports that Chelsea are in pole position to acquire Bayer Leverkusen attacking prospect Kerim Alajbegovic.
Kicker also lends credence to a report initially surfacing in Britain’s Telegraph concerning the youngster’s next possible destination. The German publication even claims the 18-year-old has already lodged a transfer request.
As noted in a recent Get German Football News piece on Alajbegovic, Leverkusen have no qualms about selling the youngster despite the fact that he was only recently re-acquired from RB Salzburg.
Matters could proceed quickly in this case.
Leverkusen originally sold the Köln-native to Red Bull Salzburg for approximately €2m in July 2025. The arrangement allowed the Bundesliga club to retain control over his future through a buyback clause. Alajbegovic subsequently enjoyed an excellent breakthrough year in Austria and represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Cup.

Barcelona have completed the signing of Germany international Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, with the forward agreeing a five-year contract at the Camp Nou until June 2031.
The Spanish champions are understood to have paid an initial €22 million for the 24-year-old, with a further €7 million in performance-related add-ons. The deal also includes a sell-on clause that will see Dortmund receive a percentage of any future profit from a transfer.
Adeyemi becomes Barcelona's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. His pace and versatility give Hans-Dieter Flick another attacking option, with the German capable of playing through the middle or on either wing.
The pair already know each other well, with Flick handing Adeyemi his senior Germany debut in 2021. The forward leaves Dortmund after four seasons, having scored 36 goals in 146 appearances since joining from RB Salzburg in 2022.

Chelsea have emerged as firm favourites to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s teenage sensation Kerim Alajbegovic. Xabi Alonso is at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are in pole position to land the 18-year-old winger following his breakout performances for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
Alajbegovic’s stock soared during the tournament after he scored a spectacular long-range goal in Bosnia’s 3–1 group-stage win over Qatar. That historic strike earned him Man of the Match honours and put Europe’s top clubs on high alert.
Chelsea have identified Alajbegovic as a prime target who fits their long-term strategy of acquiring elite, high-potential domestic and international talent. While Serie A side Atalanta initially led the race ahead of Leeds United, Chelsea’s financial strength and readiness to meet Leverkusen’s asking price have shifted momentum decisively towards Stamford Bridge.

The fact that Hansi Flick was the German manager who handed Karim Adeyemi his debut in the national team should be more than enough for culers to accept that the former knows exactly what he's doing by landing the 24-year-old from Borussia Dortmund.
Formerly at RB Salzburg, he took the same route out as Erling Haaland, and whilst the latter has moved on to Manchester City, all of the news reports suggest that Adeyemi will soon be unveiled by Barcelona, with all but the formalities to be ironed out.
Although one could suggest the player isn't a 'headline grabber' for want of a better phrase, he is, nonetheless, an exciting, albeit inconsistent, talent.
His pace certainly isn't in question, and given the recent hire of Anthony Gordon, who is also a bit of a speedster, that may not be a coincidence.
What's also very much in Adeyemi's favour is that he can play in all three positions across the front line, and that type of versatility is rare in football in this day and age.

Midfielder Cammy Devlin says it is "an absolute honour and privilege" to join Rangers under freedom of contract after leaving Hearts.
The Australia international, 28, spent five years at Tynecastle, making 171 appearances and scoring eight times.
He has been capped five times by his country and was part of their 2026 World Cup squad, although he did not play a minute.
Devlin, who has penned a two-year deal with the option of an additional 12 months, is the third significant arrival at Ibrox from Hearts this summer.

The 30-year-old from Salzburg native came through the Red Bull Football Academy and returned in the summer of 2023 as the Austrian national team goalkeeper. Since then, he has made a total of 113 appearances for our Red Bulls in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, the UNIQA ÖFB Cup, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. Now he is moving to Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga.
Alex came to FC Red Bull Salzburg three years ago with the clear aim of winning ***** les. Even though he didn't achieve that, Alex always behaved with absolute professionalism, delivered top performances, and, above all, was an important part of the team as a person and a Salzburg icon. Werder Bremen are set to add more depth to the goalkeeper position with the impending signing of Alexander Schlager.
As reported by the Salzburger Nachrichten, the 30-year-old is on the verge of a move from Austria to the northerly Bundesliga club.
Since Schlager is actually under contract in Salzburg until 2027, a relatively small and manageable transfer fee will be due.
For the Austrian national team goalkeeper who performed well at the World Cup, the move to Germany will be his first stint abroad.
In Bremen, he will face direct competition from Karl Hein for a starting position and is expected to be on the pitch as pre-season returns.

Having developed as much as he could in Bayern's academy, though, and his path to the first team blocked by imminent new arrival Nathaniel Brown, Ofli will need to take the next steps in his career elsewhere. Swansea City are closing in on the signing of Moussa Yeo from Red Bull Salzburg.
The winger is expected to undergo a medical at the Championship club with a view to making a permanent switch to the Swansea.com Stadium.
Yeo, 22, previously worked with current Swans head coach Vitor Matos at the Austrian club in 2024.
Matos has been eager to bolster his wide options following the departures of loan players Manuel Benson, who left in January, and Gustavo Nunes.

He dribbled past two Qatar players and then smashed a screamer into the net from well outside the penalty area, giving Bosnia and Herzegovina the lead in this evening’s Group B game.

FC Red Bull Salzburg have extended the contract of 19-year-old goalkeeper Nikola Sarcevic ahead of schedule. The youngster has signed a new deal until June 30, 2029.
The Vienna native joined Salzburg from the regional league club TWL Elektra in the summer of 2025 and has since made eleven appearances for our co-operation club FC Liefering.
