Barcelona's midfield situation has changed considerably over the last few weeks. Frenkie de Jong's injury has left Hansi Flick with fewer reliable options in the double pivot, while Marc Bernal is still returning from a lengthy layoff and cannot immediately be expected to carry a full workload.
Pedri remains an automatic starter and Gavi has proven that he can play alongside him, but the depth behind them suddenly looks far less secure than it did at the beginning of the summer.
There have also been rumours that Flick had already begun losing some trust in Frenkie towards the end of last season. The Dutchman reportedly did not manage his previous injury particularly well and continued playing during a World Cup year despite not being fully fit.
That was said to have frustrated Flick, who began trusting Gavi more during the closing stages of the campaign. Frenkie has still travelled with the team for pre-season, although some have interpreted that as Flick wanting him to recover under the club's supervision and, in a way, holding him accountable for how the situation was handled.
With Barcelona still expected to complete more business before the transfer window closes, another midfielder may now have become a genuine necessity rather than a luxury.

Dillon Brooks takes a shot at LaMelo Ball for not playing in the USA after high school originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks is one of the most vocal players in the NBA, and he is never shy to talk trash to his opponents. He has continued to go viral for his big moments, including when he was at Crypto.com Arena to watch and laugh at LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers as they took on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Over the past few months, Brooks has regularly appeared as a guest on livestreams with the influencer "N3ON." It has led to many funny moments, including the latest one, when he called out Minnesota Timberwolves guard LaMelo Ball for not being able to compete for the USA after his high school days at Chino Hills.
Back in the mid to late 2010s, the Ball family was one of the most recognizable groups in sports. Lonzo became a phenomenon as he became a standout guard at UCLA, and he was drafted second overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Unfortunately, LiAngelo did not get the same success, but he was still relatively well known overseas. The same can be said about LaMelo, who also played overseas in Lithuania and Australia. However, LaMelo did make it to the NBA, as he got drafted third overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Photographs of the Prince and Princess of Wales with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, often look like they could have been taken for a Ralph Lauren catalogue. Whether on their Christmas card or at official occasions, the family exudes preppy glamour. So it felt entirely appropriate that three out of five members of the family sported clothing by the American label as they attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Saturday afternoon.
The Princess arrived to watch the netball semi-finals wearing an ensemble which might provide inspiration for anyone looking to master a smart-casual look this summer. The hero piece of the outfit was a new double-breasted blazer, the Camden cashmere design from Ralph Lauren Collection. According to the brand's website, the jacket "debuted as a men's sporting style in 19th-century Britain" and "is one of Ralph Lauren's enduring silhouettes". Notably, Ralph Lauren is the official outfitter of the Wimbledon Championships, where the Princess is royal patron.
While Catherine's forest green version isn't currently available to buy, the identical jacket in navy retails for £2,950 – a far cry from the Zara tailoring the Princess often wears. The rest of her look continued this upscale theme – she accessorised with diamond hoop earrings by Kiki McDonough, Gianvito Rossi shoes and an Anya Hindmarch handbag.

Another key element of the Princess's outfit was a striped top, a design that she has become synonymous with ever since joining the Royal family. Catherine, who is known as the ******* ss of Rothesay in Scotland, has worn Breton tops for polo matches and relaxed family engagements as well as in difficult moments, such as the video she released telling the world she had cancer in 2023. The design also reflects the sporty Hamptons aesthetic of Ralph Lauren.

DJ Akademiks is drawing a hard financial line around Cardi B's dating pool, and in his opinion, Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye doesn't make the cut.
During a recent livestream, Akademiks weighed in on swirling dating rumors linking Cardi to Okoye before making a suggestion of his own.
COMPLEX SHOP: Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Uncover what's next. Buy. Collect. Obsess.
"Cardi B, you might as well date me," he said. "Cardi B was seen with a football player like a couple weeks ago and I said, this guy got no chance. Why did I say this guy got no chance? Bro, the dude makes a million dollars a year."
He continued, "I think you need to make at least a million dollars a month to keep Cardi B, you know what I mean? It's lifestyle ******* . Respectfully, these women don't want a ******* , bro … You ever heard when she did her breakdown of how much it cost to be her? She was like 600,000 a month. Cardi B is an expensive girl. So this is why I ruled this guy out… He's a goalkeeper. … He makes $975,000. I'm sorry. He makes $18,000 a week."

The Seattle Seahawks continued their 2026 training camp with a lighter practice in front of fans on Saturday afternoon. After doing padded practices on Thursday and Friday, Seattle opted to go pad-less for Saturday. With Sunday scheduled as an off-day before a return to the field on Monday, it seems like the goal for the Seahawks coaching staff is to still keep players fresh and not overdo it with intensity and physicality.
Here's a recap of Saturday's practice!
Elijah Arroyo and Tory Horton shine on offense
It was an injury-riddled year for both Arroyo and Horton last season. Arroyo had a stint on IR due to a knee injury, while Horton cracked his tibia and had his season end after Week 9. Horton had a fair bit more productivity than Arroyo, but they each have enticing traits that could help elevate the passing game.
Saturday's practice will be encouraging for Seahawks fans, as they each caught touchdowns during practice.

Keeping elite in-state talent home has been one of Steve Sarkisian's biggest priorities since he was hired as Texas' head coach in January 2021.
Sarkisian hasn't had much problem doing just that and those successes continued on Saturday, Aug. 1 as Randle (TX) Richmond five-star running back Landen Williams-Callis announced his commitment to the Longhorns. He chose Texas over Missouri, SMU and Texas A&M.
According to 247Sports, the 5-foot-7.5, 190-pounder is ranked as the No. 37 overall prospect, the No. 3 running back and No. 3 prospect out of Texas for the 2027 cycle.
However, the USA TODAY Sports composite ranks him as the No. 27 overall prospect in the country and the No. 3 running back, trailing only Georgia commit Kemon Spell and Tennessee commit David Gabriel Georges.
There weren't many running backs in the country who had a better year statistically than Williams-Callis in 2025. In 16 games, he led the Lions to a 15-1 record, averaging 218.9 rushing yards per game and rushing for 3,502 yards and 59 touchdowns on 324 carries.

Warriors reportedly sign $33M fan favorite, NBA champion, 11-year veteran, son of NBA legend originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Golden State Warriors have had a disappointing offseason, to say the least, and their biggest glimmer of hope came when they were in the running for LeBron James. However, they have had limited options this summer due to their financial restrictions.
The Warriors ultimately missed out on their biggest target in James, but they continued to express interest in bringing back Gary Payton II. Golden State had been pursuing a reunion with the fan-favorite guard for nearly a month.
"Bassey fills the 11th slot on the Warriors' roster. It's anticipated that Green will eventually fill the 12th spot, and there is mutual interest, league sources said, in bringing Gary Payton II back," ESPN's Anthony Slater wrote.
The Warriors' interest in Payton II was significant because of his popularity throughout the Bay Area. On Saturday, Golden State and Payton II reached an agreement on a new deal that will bring him back for the upcoming season.

Girona FC concluded a new preseason match this Saturday with the 49th Costa Brava Trophy - 150th Anniversary Estrella Damm at the Montilivi Stadium, where they fell to ****** nal FC 1-4 in a highly demanding game against one of the great clubs in European football.
The match allowed Quique Álvarez's team to continue accumulating competitive minutes and advance in their preparation for the 2026-27 season, against an opponent that showed a great pace of play from the very beginning. The Londoners took the lead in the 16th minute with a goal from Kai Havertz and extended their advantage in the 30th minute thanks to Christos Tzolis, reaching halftime with a favorable 0-2 scoreline.
After the break, Girona responded in the best possible way. The team started the second half with determination, and after two consecutive corners, Arnau Martínez reduced the deficit with a great header in the 50th minute, igniting Montilivi and reopening the game.
Arsenal's response, however, was immediate. Max Dowman restored the two-goal advantage just three minutes later, and Gabriel Jesus sealed the final 1-4 scoreline in the 55th minute. Despite the score, Girona continued to press for the opposing goal until the end, with chances from Minsu and Vladyslv Vanat that were met with strong saves from Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The final stretch of the match allowed both coaches to distribute playing time among much of their squads and continue giving prominence to younger players, one of the main objectives of this preparation period.

Uros Medic fought in his native Serbia for the first time ever, but didn't stick around in the cage longer than he needed to.
In fact, Medic's UFC Belgrade main event lasted all of 30 seconds as he unleashed a signature knockout barrage to put away Daniel Rodriguez and send the Belgrade Arena crowd into a frenzy. It was the fourth straight first-round finish for Medic, who is emerging as a dark horse contender in the increasingly crowded welterweight division.

Passionate about the sport, thoughtful in his approach and an absolute killer inside the octagon."
Medic not only improved to 14-3 as a pro, he continued his career-long streak of having never had a fight go to the judges.

For a third straight day, the New England Patriots put on their full pads on Saturday. Intensity was not as high as the last two days as several veterans were managed, but plenty of work still was done.
To recap the seventh practice of the summer, please make sure to head over to our Patriots training camp notebook. In the meantime, here is who caught our eye during the session.
WR Romeo Doubs: The $68 million man has seen a slow start to his Patriots' tenure on the practice fields. That flipped on Saturday as Doubs led all of Drake Maye's pass catchers with five targets and managed to haul in all of them during 7-on-7s and full-team work. The duo struck multiple times over the middle of the field a day after Doubs made an impressive grab in the end zone for a touchdown. Doubs' did appear to put the football on the ground at one point at the end of a play, but it was on overall positive practice for the 26-year old.
WR A.J. Brown: Doubs was not the only offseason addition to continue stacking strong days on Saturday, as A.J. Brown continued to look more in-sync with Drake Maye. Brown caught all three of his targets from Maye with his best work coming as he muscled a contested target away from Christian Gonzalez. The 29-year old receiver also added quick hitters on an out and slant before leaving practice early for what appeared to be rest related.
DBs Karon Prunty and Dell Pettus: New England's secondary got their hands on multiple footballs on Saturday, which began with safety Dell Pettus jumping in front of a pass from Drake Maye to Mack Hollins to record an interception. Shortly after, rookie cornerback Karon Prunty hauled in an interception of his own as he impressively tracked a deep ball from Tommy DeVito to Cameron Dorner.

Robert Valentin continued to crawl out of his bad octagon start on Saturday with another win, this time against Dusko Todorovic at UFC Fight Night 283.
After starting his promotional tenure with three consecutive defeats, Valentin (12-6 MMA, 2-3 UFC) now has consecutive wins on his record after he went into Belgrade Arena and upset Serbia's own Todorovic (13-7 MMA, 4-7 UFC) with a guillotine choke submission at the 4:14 mark of Round 1.
The crowd was "muted," in the words of play-by-play man Jon Anik after the local favorite lost in the middleweight bout, but Valentin achieved a successful night. Check out the replay of his win below (via X):
Valentin was fired up in the aftermath of the most notable result of his career so far, and he said he's looking forward to doing more. He did the post-fight interview alongside Todorovic in a wholesome moment.
"Why I bring Dusko here? Look at this guy next to me," Valentin said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, which was interpreted by Todorovic himself. "We're basically the same guy. We would be brothers, but unfortunately today we had to fight, and this is the job we chose."

Following Ben Stokes' retirement from international cricket, England have turned to a familiar face to lead their Test side once again. While there had been widespread speculation that Harry Brook could take over the captaincy, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has instead entrusted the role to Joe Root, who is set to begin his second stint as Test captain.
Root, who stepped down from the role in 2022 after a five-year tenure, admitted he is relishing the opportunity to lead England again, believing his previous experience has better prepared him for the challenges ahead.
"Very much the same, to be honest. I don't think that will ever change. Whenever you get the opportunity to lead your country, it's all of those things. I guess, the unique and nice position that I find myself in this time is I've got a wealth of experience in terms of knowing what it takes, knowing what it looks like, having seen success with it and seeing some hard times as well,'' said Root in a video on the official ECB website.
"I've got a lot to fall back on and look at and help me and the team moving forward into this next little while. So, I don't think many captains get that opportunity and certainly not with the amount of games that I have behind me and the experiences that I've had in between now and that period there. So, I'm very much looking forward to it, very excited by the challenge that lies ahead and all the great cricket that we have coming up," Root added.
Root captained England in 65 Test matches, registering 27 victories, the most by any England Test captain. Although he stepped down in 2022 after a difficult phase for the team, he has continued to be one of England's most dependable batters.
The 35-year-old will officially begin his second stint as Test captain when England host Pakistan in the first Test of the series, starting August 19, as he looks to lead the side into a new chapter alongside new Test head coach Stephen Fleming.

Bogdan Grad secured a second-round submission over Dennis Buzukja earlier today (Sat., Aug. 1, 2026) at UFC Belgrade LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia, but the win didn't come without some controversy.
Buzukja came into this fight as a betting underdog, but the Longo-Weidman MMA product looked sharp from the opening bell. He finally had a full camp and appeared to be more confident in the early going. Grad returned favor with some slick spinning techniques before turning to his wrestling and forcing Buzukja to the ground. Grad ended up winning the first round, but it was closer than most expected.
Grad continued his wrestling deep into the second round, but he appeared to be tiring. This allowed Buzukja to land some good punches on the feet. Grad eventually got his second wind and ended up scoring a takedown along the cage. That's when Grad transitioned to a tight arm-triangle choke and put Buzukja in serious danger. Buzukja was fighting and trying to stay in the fight, but it appeared that he tapped on Grad's leg. The referee stepped in and stopped the fight, but Buzukja immediately protested as it looked like his "tap" could have been an attempt to push Grad's leg off.

The venture-backed IPO market has roared back to life in 2026, headlined by ******* eX's record $1.77 trillion IPO, but the stock performance of newly public companies has been comparably muted.
There have been 44 VC-backed IPOs in the US so far this year, according to new PitchBook data, on track to trounce 2025's total of 50. In addition to ******* eX—and the planned mega-IPOs of Anthropic and OpenAI—companies including Cerebras, Quantinuum, X-Energy and HawkEye 360 raised significant proceeds, and delivered some long-awaited liquidity to investors.
But the results since haven't been pretty: ******* eX, as of Thursday's market close, was trading 30.3% down from its debut, and Cerebras was down 34.7%, even with a 19.9% one-day gain.

Stocks' 2026 gains have largely evaporated thanks to Wall Street's recent concerns over the continued war in Iran and the potential for Chinese chip manufacturers to challenge US incumbents in the race for AI computing power.

Shane Drohan turned in six strong innings in a bounce-back outing, while the Brewers broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning fueled by home runs from Brice Turang and Jake Bauers. After dropping two of three to the Giants to open their California road trip, Milwaukee got back on track tonight with a 6-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
After neither team managed to score in the first, Bauers and Garrett Mitchell led off the top of the second with back-to-back singles off Angels starter Ryan Johnson. Up next was Cooper Pratt, who slapped a line drive into left field. With Bauers rounding third, Angels left fielder Jose Siri charged the ball in an attempt to gun him down at the plate but couldn't come up with it cleanly. By the time the dust settled, Pratt had reached second, Mitchell advanced to third, and Bauers had scored the Brewers' first run of the game.
Neither team scored again until the fifth, when Johnson walked Pratt to open the frame. Turang then hit a towering fly ball that had just enough carry to clear the center-field fence.
Johnson continued to unravel, allowing Jackson Chourio to single before walking William Contreras to put another rally in motion. He managed just one more out—a sharp lineout off the bat of Christian Yelich—before being pulled in favor of Jose Fermín, whose second pitch to Bauers, a slider low and inside, hung just long enough. Bauers crushed it 424 feet into the seats to make it 6-0, a lead that proved to be more than enough with Drohan on the mound.
Drohan was perfect the first time through the order. In the fourth, he allowed back-to-back singles to Zach Neto and Nolan Schanuel before bouncing back to get Jorge Soler to ground into an inning-ending double play. He surrendered a two-run homer to Denzer Guzman in the fifth, bringing the Angels within four, but retired the side in order in the sixth to finish his night. After allowing five earned runs against Colorado in his previous outing, Drohan responded with one of his better starts of the season, earning his sixth win. He's now gone at least 5 2/3 innings in all six of his starts during the month of July.

Sunderland continued their pre-season preparations with their second of three Premier League Summer Series games, this one resulting in a 1-0 loss to Leeds United.
But what are the main points of discussion following this match?
Our Swedish goalkeeper has taken a fair bit of flak on social media since conceding the only goal of the game.
After the ball was given away cheaply by Enzo Le Fée, Lukas Nmecha attempted a shot from around 40 yards out, which may well have been mishit. However, Ellborg found himself out of position and was unable to get back to stop the ball nestling in the bottom corner.
In my eyes, Ellborg did enough last season in the games he played to warrant his position as our number two.

Chivas at times dominated but were only able to get a 1-1 tie against Puebla. Chivas was the better side from the start but their scoring troubles continued as they were only able to get a single goal against a Puebla side that looked to defend and counter from the start, giving away most possession. Both teams are going to the Leagues Cup before returning to Liga MX. Puebla will travel to Pachuca in their return while Chivas plays against Santos in Torreon.
The 1st half started with Chivas coming out with their best 11 including Brian Gutierrez from the start. Armando Gonzalez got into the area but his right footed shot would go wide. Roberto Alvarado got off a great left footed shot that was blocked by Puebla's goalkeeper, Ricardo Gutierrez. He would leave the ball there for Gonzalez go get a close range header but Gutierrez made a fantastic save to stop him from a sure goal. Gonzalez got into the area and his left footed shot was blocked by Gutierrez but it bounced off Juan Pablo Vargas and looked like it was going to be an own goal but it hit the post. Chivas was completely dominating the match but the score remained scoreless. Against the run of play, Emiliano Gomez got into the area and get past a defender before getting off a left footed shot that Chivas' goalkeeper Raul Rangel blocked but left there for Eduardo Mustre to get off a left footed shot in the net to score and give Puebla the surprising 1-0 lead. It was the first real chance for the home side and it was a bad mistake from Rangel to give up the lead. From outside the area, Ruben Gonzalez got off a right footed shot that went wide. Facundo Almada made a run into the area but his right footed shot went wide. Daniel Aguirre made a good move in the area and got off a left footed shot that went just wide. A cross into the area was headed by Bryan Alonso Gonzalez but it was cleared by Puebla's defense. Alonso Gonzalez got off a left footed shot inside the area that Gutierrez saved. The halftime whistle blew and although Chivas had played better, it was Puebla who had the lead at the break.
The 2nd half started with neither team making a substitution as it started to rain heavily in Puebla. Kevin Velasco got off a left footed shot from outside the area that Rangel saved. Alvarado would get the ball in the area and get off a right footed shot that hit the post. Chivas subbed out Fernando Gonzalez and Jordan Carrillo for Omar Govea and Efrain Alvarez. Alvarado got off a right footed shot from outside the area that Gutierrez made a great save on it. Off the ensuing corner kick, Chivas surprised by taking it quickly and Roberto Alvarado got off a great left footed shot inside the area that went past Gutierrez to score and tie the match at 1-1. A cross from Alvarado almost would turn into a shot that almost went in. Govea got off a right footed shot that would go well wide. Puebla subbed out Carlos Baltazar and Eduardo Mustre for Mathias Tomas and Luifer Hernandez. Chivas subbed out Arman

Tom Holland has grown from a promising young British actor into one of Hollywood's biggest stars, thanks largely to his portrayal of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Alongside his blockbuster success, his personal life has frequently attracted public attention, with fans closely following the relationships that have accompanied different stages of his career. While Holland has generally kept his private life out of the spotlight, several reported romances have made headlines over the years before he found lasting happiness with fellow actor Zendaya.
Before achieving international fame, Holland was reportedly linked to childhood friend Elle Lotherington in 2015. As his acting career accelerated, the relationship quietly came to an end. He was later rumored to be dating actress Ella Purnell after the pair were seen together following a BAFTA event in 2017, though neither publicly confirmed a romantic relationship. In 2019, Holland was connected to family friend Olivia Bolton, but the relationship reportedly lasted less than a year before the two decided to remain friends. During the 2020 pandemic, he was also linked to actress Nadia Parkes, with reports suggesting they spent part of the lockdown together before eventually going their separate ways.
The relationship that truly captured public attention began with Zendaya, whom Holland met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. For several years, the pair insisted they were simply close friends despite persistent speculation from fans and the media. In 2021, photographs of the two together confirmed that their friendship had developed into a romantic relationship, and they quickly became one of Hollywood's most admired couples. Despite their global fame, Holland and Zendaya have consistently chosen to keep much of their relationship private while supporting one another's careers through premieres, award ceremonies, and public appearances.
Their relationship continued to flourish, with news of their engagement emerging after Zendaya appeared wearing a diamond ring at the Golden Globes in early 2025. The couple later confirmed they had quietly married in a private ceremony attended by close family members, remaining true to their preference for keeping personal milestones away from the public spotlight.
Holland and Zendaya's approach to fame has distinguished them from many celebrity couples. Rather than sharing every aspect of their lives online, they have maintained clear boundaries between their public careers and private relationship. Their mutual respect, support for one another's achievements, and commitment to privacy have made them one of the entertainment industry's most admired partnerships, proving that even in the age of constant social media attention, some love stories can still thrive away from the spotlight.

Zendaya has become one of Hollywood's most versatile and respected performers, building a career that spans acting, music, fashion, and producing. Long before she was headlining blockbuster films and award-winning television series, she was a child model and dancer with a clear dream of performing. Growing up around theater nurtured her love for the arts, but it was watching Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel that convinced her she wanted to pursue acting professionally. Determined to follow that path, she steadily worked her way through auditions before landing roles that introduced her to a global audience.
Her early success came through Disney Channel productions, where she showcased her talents as both an actress and singer. However, Zendaya was eager to prove she could take on more mature and challenging roles beyond the family-friendly image that accompanied her early career. That opportunity arrived in 2017 when she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as MJ in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Appearing alongside Tom Holland, the film marked a major turning point, allowing her to demonstrate a more understated and confident screen presence while reaching an even wider audience. Zendaya has often described the role as the realization of a lifelong ambition to transition from television to feature films.
The same year, she further expanded her reputation by starring in The Greatest Showman, where she portrayed trapeze artist Anne Wheeler. Her character's romance with Phillip Carlyle, played by Zac Efron, became one of the film's emotional highlights, exploring themes of acceptance, courage, and breaking social barriers. Combined with the movie's hugely successful soundtrack, the performance confirmed that Zendaya possessed the rare ability to excel as both an actress and performer, strengthening her reputation as one of Hollywood's brightest young stars.
Her career has continued to flourish through acclaimed projects across film and television, including subsequent Spider-Man films and other critically praised performances. Throughout her success, Zendaya has remained known for her professionalism, humility, and thoughtful perspective on fame. She has frequently spoken about the importance of patience, encouraging aspiring performers to trust their own journey rather than comparing themselves to others. According to Zendaya, growth comes through experience, persistence, and allowing yourself the time to improve without expecting immediate results.
Today, Zendaya is celebrated not only for her talent but also for her authenticity and influence both on and off the screen. Whether portraying complex dramatic characters, leading blockbuster franchises, or inspiring audiences through her interviews and public appearances, she continues to demonstrate that lasting success is built on dedication, resilience, and a willingness to keep learning. Fresh off the news of the merger with Most Valuable Promotions, Professional Fighters League continued its "Summer Series" runof events with a surge of momentum.
Two of the company's top superstars made their return aslightweight champion UsmanNurmagomedov put his ***** le on the line against undefeatedchallenger ArchieColgan, and DakotaDitcheva denied DeniseKielholtz following a year on the shelf.
Following a brutal and decisive first-round finish over Colgan, there are immediate questions on the future of Nurmagomedov and hisplace in the company, as he just fought out the last fight of hiscontract. Nurmagomedov made it a point to see how the PFL/MVPmerger would lead to a contract offer in terms of pay, and if theykeep him, there's a clear top contender in Shabliy. DefeatingAlfieDavis by unanimous decision last month, Shabliy discussed hisdesire for a ***** le fight and he could get a chance at revenge froma 2024 loss to Nurmagomedov.
Taking on Kielholtz in her first action in over a year, Ditchevadid not have her most outstanding performance, and it was clear shewas shaking off some rust. Ditcheva would control the pace anddistance, grabbing momentum early and never letting it go. Aftergetting the rust off, it's time for the most anticipated women'smatchup in the PFL to take place against last year's tournamentchampion in Carmouche. Getting a recent win over VivianeAraujo, these two women are on a collision course and thereshould be no more time wasted.
Magomedov's performance proved there is another Russian star on thepromotion's roster. Part of the Nurmagomedov team, Magomedov waselectric in his manhandling of AngelAlvarez, chopping down his legs with brutal kicks andeventually getting the TKO finish in the second round. He shouldnow face off against the 2025 PFL Lightweight tournament champion.Davis just suffered a loss to Shabliy back in June, but could getright back into the top of the division if he can stop the momentumof Magomedov. Davis has said that he felt he fought his best in hisloss against Nurmagomedov, who knows Magomedov well, and he couldserve as a great test to see just how quickly he can get himselfback to ***** le contention.
Dayron arguably went through the toughest test of his career and itwas also his closest fight, as he pulled off a razor-thin decisionover RaufeonStots. His opponent was thoroughly shocked at the decision, butit saw Dayron keep his undefeated record intact. Even with the win,Dayron would benefit from another veteran test, and he'd get justthat in Pettis. Recently, Pettis was scheduled to square offagainst LewisMcGrillen-Evans but had to withdraw due to injury, if Pettiscan get healthy sooner than later, he would serve as another greattest for Dayron.

Less-than-truckload carrier Saia's shares were off 12% in midday trading on Thursday following a better-than-expected second-quarter report that was muted by management's softer third-quarter margin outlook. The company has made real estate investments totaling over $1 billion in recent years, and its new locations are still working to close the profitability gap to the rest of the network.
Saia (NASDAQ: SAIA) reeled in its full-year margin outlook on a Thursday call with ***** ysts. It now expects to hit the lower end of a guidance range calling for 100 to 200 basis points of year-over-year improvement.
"Our strong second quarter results highlight the continued enhancement of our expanded service offering, disciplined execution and the commitment of our team members," said Saia CEO Fritz Holzgrefe. "We achieved record revenue and tonnage, along with a second-quarter record in shipments, reflecting solid growth across our network."
The Johns Creek, Georgia-based company reported second-quarter earnings per share of $3.51 on Thursday before the market opened. The result was 84 cents higher y/y and 12 cents better than the consensus estimate. A lower tax rate compared to the prior-year quarter was a 2-cent tailwind. A $3 million decline in net interest expense was an 8-cent tailwind.
Revenue was 17% higher y/y at 957 million, largely in line with consensus. Both tonnage and yield increased by 8% y/y. (Yield was down 2% excluding fuel surcharges.)
